Love love love sephora. They have almost every make up brand in here!! Workers are nice always so helpful. If you're ever around in south coast plaza, stop by here for make up. My favorite foundations so far here are the Givenchy, YSL, Dior Air, Giorgio Armani, and Laura Mercier. You can ask for samples and try them out because they work really well. Make up is expensive in general so its gotta be worth the price you pay for. Kat Von D Shade Light highlighter and contour is my favorite so far. I usually use the balm highlighter and contour but I fell in love with the Kat Von D one. If you're looking for blush, Becca, Nars, and Benefit have really pigmented colors. Their packaging is different and cute in many ways. For concealer I would recommend the Nars concealer or the Urban Decay Naked concealer. So so awesome. For brows I recommend Anastasia BH Dip brow pomade and their brow wiz pencil. I usually get my perfume here too because they have most of the scents here. Chloe Love story is one of my favorites, Versace Crystal is my favorite right now, and Marc Jacobs Spring limited edition is another one I use. Ask for Naheed, she's so nice and helpful!!! I simply asked if there are gift sets for brushes and the lady "helping" me said "Let check on this for you". Tom Ford sales told me this is newly remodel place! It is pretty big in here, and I finally did my purchase 2 days ago. I came by because the Tom Ford sales gave me La Mer facial card and told me to stop by. But, the sales told me to wait for another 30 mins to start... not gonna do that. The sales didn't know the eye cream products too well.. I told her shiseido brand but she still busied to introduce drunk elephant, and other brands... until I restate I like Asian brand. It's quite obvious it's better for my skin especially after she gave me some tips how misuse La Mer skin lotion can cause pore clog!! She said the only way to save the face then will be going to the dermatologist. I was like even these are true tips.. it's scary. She made me feel like La Mer product was more like a skin poison rather than moisturizer for everyone..! She ended up need to ask her Asian coworker to figure out shiseido one is the best for my age. I was glad I finally get the product. I have been using it for 2 days only and hopefully I don't need to return it later if my skin has irritation.... read more

So I went in Sephora Yesturday no one bothered to help me and there was a lot of girls that where working and I saw they would help other ppl but refuse to help me and finally I looked at one she saw me looking at her and I was like can u help me ? Who doesn't love Sephora? I was here a week ago to get some suggestions for covering bruises because I am a giant klutz and my sisters engagement party was in 3 days. The associate Kimberly was fantastic trying several different color correcting options on me and looking for all kinds of solutions. We ended up with make up forever and they were great. I am pretty makeup illiterate and so they were really nice in explaining what would work on the bruises and also be good for other uses...like my face. read more

Located outside Bloomingdale's on the 2nd floor. One of the more friendly Sephora stores. The customer service representatives weren't to hard to find. What is nice about this store is you can try on the products before you purchase it. Samples of perfume and other makeup products are also available upon request. This Sephora is a bit different as there is an entire area with makeup artists and makeup accessories. read more

I looove this Sephora. All of the associates are very helpful and I've never had to wander around looking for anything. I love how during the holidays when the line is literally taking up the entire middle of the store, it still moves SO fast. I've never had a problem shopping here and they carry almost everything they need. My only gripe is that if you want some stuff off of any of the lines they carry you might have to go to the actual store (like for me, I needed something from Bare Escentuals that they didn't carry so I had to go downstairs to the actual B.E. store to get it). I also LOVE the sephora line of cosmetics. I have a ton of their eyeshadows and I recently purchased their liquid eyeliner and really like it, though one drop of moisture and it will smudge, but it does create the perfect cat-eye eyeliner effect with ease. Don't be afraid to go here any time of the day on any day of the year, you'll get in and out quick even if the line is almost to the door! Tip: if you do regular shopping for all of your makeup here, definitely become a member of their Beauty Insider program, you earn points and I've gotten a ton of sweet free things/samples, AND a full size gift on my birthday! read more

This review is intended for Sephora, not a particular location. I purchased a scent sampler that comes with a voucher for the full size bottle of your favorite scent included in the sampler. The voucher can only be purchased in a store and NOT on the website nor stores located in JC Penney. I am absolutely ok with this policy. When I decided on the scent I wanted, I went to the Downtown Disney location and was told they did not have the scent in stock. I then went to the location at South Coast Plaza and was informed that they no longer carry the scent in stores, BUT they do carry it online and at the JC Penney locations....where I am unable to use my voucher. Even though this was the only scent I wanted, I went ahead and accepted defeat and was going to use the voucher towards another fragrance on the list. They did not have the correct size which meant I would have paid for a voucher and in return would get a smaller bottle of perfume. No thanks. I assumed I could call Sephora and they would honor their product offering. Received a general response via email, the copy/paste kind that did not address my issue. Called customer service, they were not able to assist me so they transferred me to Corporate where it was suggested to me to purchase the fragrance at the JC Penney location and return it to a store location then buy it back with my voucher. Sounds a little complex and with the luck I have had so far, they probably would not honor it and I would be out the money I paid for the sampler set and a bottle of perfume. Other than that, I was told "sorry". I dont understand, Sephora has the product, I want the product and they can't get me the product. I expected them to manually be able to do an override, its not costing them anything to help a customer, but they have now lost one. :( read more

I love Sephora! I always have a great experience coming to this location and every one is very nice and helpful. One thing I noticed is that the VIB 100 points perks are way better online then in store. Also, they seem to be out of cotton pads/ tester applications on the weekends. Sephora has been one of my most favorite stores for cosmetic products. However, I left the store at South Coast that near Bloomingdale's today with disappointment. I did not expect such bad experience from Sephora. As soon as I walked into the store, the "welcoming" girl said hi to me, and then refused to talk afterward. I thought maybe she was just doing her job, which was generally "saying hi," and that was it. The experience went downhill even more when I tried to ask for help, and literally, the sale associates were either talking to each other or walking away from me. Even at the moment that I tried to get someone to talk to, she gave me the whole "checking out" attitude from hip-to-toes, which was really uncomfortable. After today, I don't know what happen to the general, basic customer service skill anymore. read more

The Sephora at South Coast Plaza never disappoints. My girl and I love to get our make up fix here. Park in the Bloomingdales parking lot and its the very first store you see when entering the mall through Bloomies. It's big and spacious...plenty of room to roam. The store is clean and organized and staff is friendly and helpful. I like that the crowd is less obnoxious then the Downtown Disney and Brea Sephora's. read more

This location is fantastic! I brought my used Clarisonic (see my other review for Sephora in Breal) in for exchange for a new one. The store manager Andrea (I think she was the manager, if not, she should be!) was horrified to hear about the Brea location reshelfing a used Clarisonic. She assured me that wasnt a practice followed in this location and I thought that was that. I continued my browsing, only to be greeted again by Andrea, only this time she was bearing gifts! She felt so bad that she gave me some free goodies for my trouble!! Aside from Andrea's excellent customer service, I also found other employees to be as helpful and courteous! Will definitely be back to this location. Also, I might add, they had some kind of Makeup Forever land in this location. Not sure if its permanent or not, but if you are looking for a MUFE product...you will most likely find it here!!!! read more

I'm a huge makeup and product whore so I love Sephora; I shop here so much I'm a VIB. I do a lot of online shopping too because you get three extra samples when you order online plus they have many specials sometimes (free gifts with purchase or free samples etc) not available in store. You can search Retailmenot or beauty blogs like Temptalia for the latest coupon codes. They also have their latest coupon codes listed on their website. I've gotten cool stuff like free samples of YSL Faux Cils and such by using online coupon codes. Some times they have different 100 pt and 500 pt gifts available online that are not available in the store at the moment. Best 500 pt gift I ever got was the Too Faced Eye Love palette. The only thing that would make Sephora better is if they would carry Chanel makeup. I'd like to get some points when buying Chanel glossimers or blushers. They have makeup for pretty much every high end brand except Chanel. My favorite brands they carry include Nars (blushes and gloss), MUFE (makeup and hd powder), Stila (glosses), Dior (mascara and primer) and Urban Decay of course for eyeshadows (can you say Naked palette?) Service is pretty decent here most of the time. I love the fact they give you a free birthday present if you are VIB; can't wait for my Fresh lip balm stuff this year. I love their "Value Kits" etc where you get to try deluxe sample sizes of lots of different stuff. Some of em' are really good deals and you'll get to try a bunch of different Nars or Benefit products at a great price. Sephora should open their own sampling subscription service like Birchbox etc. I would totally subscribe and pay! read more

My trip to Sephora today was amazing!! I went in to get a sample of some primer someone recommended to me, and I ended up buying 2 things. I asked Kate for help and she was so fantastic. She showed me the perfect foundation, showed me the magic of beauty blenders, cracked jokes with us, and even talked me into spending $70!! As I left the store, I could not stop smiling. My experience today was so awesome that I had to write a review for this store! My friend and I went to store to buy eyeshadows for her wedding and I am the designated makeup artist for her wedding and I don't have that much experience in doing bridal makeup! The store on a Saturday afternoon was crazy busy so finally someone by the name Louis asked us if we needed help while he was trying to take care of some other things. We said yes and told him about the story. He apologized and said he could help us for a short time only and we have to wait for him to finish his tasks first because we didn't make an appointment and we agreed. However, when the time came for us, he took us to the back room which was private and he took his time to tell me how to do her makeup from the start! He finished one eye and he told me about all the tricks and then he asked me to do the other eye. Basically we had a mini makeup class over there! He was AMAZING! I was so nervous to do her makeup and now I am confident! Thank you Louis for making my day :) and taking so much of your time to teach my friend and I how to do her wedding makeup! read more

This Sephora has an impeccable customer service. They will go out of their way to help you find a product or a SKU number to return an item. The manager, Sal truly is an amazing person. He's extremely helpful and friendly. I wanted to return a facial mask that didn't have a SKU number on the product itself. He said he will do his best to find it. Honestly, as I was walking out of Sephora, I thought to myself "I'll never hear from them." But the next day, he called and said he found a SKU. I was so touched. I love this Sephora since they sell exclusive make up that no other Sephora sells like Becca. They have an entire section of Becca and most places only carry their bronzers. So happy I don't have to buy this make up online anymore so I'm able to change the color of my foundation throughout the year. Driving past 4 different sephoras and to sit in 30 minute beach traffic is worth it for me! read more

I'm a regular customer here and have been since my freshman year of college (some six years ago?). I must say, I've been to a few other ones (Downtown Disney, Aliso Viejo, etc.) and those were okay, but none of them beats South Coast Plaza's Sephora. This will always be my Sephora of choice. I agree with the other reviewers: the girls here are always there and very willing to help. The only time I've ever been ignored when I need help is on days where it's super busy and all the girls are busy with customers, but that's very understandable. Minus one star though for the occasional lapse in customer service on very not-busy days. Very rarely (but it does happen!), I come in and I feel like I'm invisible (which is particularly annoying when I'm actually actively seeking someone to help). As someone mentioned, I guess it's a hit-or-miss. Now I have an idea of what are the best days and who are the most helpful girls. I like the variety of makeup that Sephora carries as well, from the more affordable Sephora Brand (which works great!!) to the higher YSL, Givenchy, etc. read more

I love Natalie! Honestly, I came in here not really knowing what I was going to leave with because I'm not that great with make-up. But soon after, I got paired up with Natalie and she was so kind to me! not only that, but she didn't make me feel stupid for not knowing anything about makeup. She spent a lot of her time telling me about all the products and which kinds I should use. I really didn't think people who worked at the store spend more than 15 minutes helping a customer, but she gave me a whole lot of her time. I came out of that store really happy and excited to use my make up. I'm really glad that she helped me! shes one of the nicest person that has helped me at Sephora. Friendly and helpful service here. Only down side is that my powder foundation was discontinued and the coloring all changed, but no one let me know when they had the powder on hold for me up front. I love this Sephora location and will continue to go here over any other location. Their return policy is probably one of the best next to Nordstroms and I've never had any issues with my visits here. Sometimes I like roaming around staring at things and trying to find reasons to need things haha. Whether it's makeup, skincare, or perfume, every associate that's helped me here has been knowledgeable of the products. I think I've only had a few disappointments in trying the recommendations the workers have given me, but there weren't any problems in returning those. Other than that I love everything haha.
