Sephora in Dedham's Legacy Place is one of the smaller Sephora locations I've been to but nonetheless, still a great store location! They have just about everything you would find at a larger Sephora but may have less inventory available for purchase, though I haven't experienced this issue. My favorite Sephora to go to is the Prudential store in Boston because they offer a larger selection of brands in store, but this store does the job as it's convenient for me to restock my makeup products/skincare when I'm doing some shopping at Legacy Place. Staff is super nice here and always down to help with finding products. Parking: lots of parking available but depending on the time of the day, parking spots are more limited. After the massive headache of finding a parking spot in Legacy Place, I finally make it into the store, find what I want and get in line to make my purchase. I'm first in line. At the counter is a lady and the lone cashier. I'm not blaming them at all, the lady was uncomfortable about taking up time and the cashier was clearing doing what she should, customer service, while trying to reassure the woman that the every growing line behind her was not her fault. The cashier called 3x for assistance to no avail. At one point someone walked up, past this growing line of customers, answered a ringing phone, turned and walked away. Been here a few times with my girlfriend, given them a few chances but honestly unpleasant experiences every time with the employees. Usually run into 1-2 rude employees who seem extremely cocky and give off attitude. This last time we had 2 employees follow us very closely peering over aisles or in the same aisles, as if we are shoplifting. Not coming again, plenty of other better Sephora locations. read more

There are Sephoras everywhere I know but I am still like a kid in a candy shop when I find one. I am a woman who likes her makeup. I feel better and more pulled together with some make-up applied. For those of us who are no longer dewy-faced 18 year olds, even just some mascara, a bit of concealer, a perfectly selected lipstick and a tamed brow make a lot of difference in putting a best face forward and presenting a pulled together look. I have been in love with bold retro red lipsticks for a long time but found myself rarely wearing them unless it was a big night out. I think it's the current winter gray look of the outdoors right now that has had me digging through my lipstick collection to find something brighter than what I usually wear for every day. On my most recent visit to this Sephora, I got some much appreciated help from one of the sales people here. I walked away with a brand new red and recommendations for a couple of others along with a sample. The next day, I went to Sephora on-line and bought 2 more. I'm on a red roll. But I had fun as I always do here looking at new products, sampling a cologne or two and investigating eyebrow brushes. I could drop a bundle without blinking a mascaraed eye, but kept it simple the other day with my lipstick purchase. Here are my latest retro red lipstick favs all available at Sephora just in case you need that slash of crimson on your lips to make a winter-be-damned statement too. Nars: Cruella Nars: Red Lizard Nars: Fire Down Below Urban Decay: F-Bomb The salesperson at this Sephora helped me out by patiently leading me to quite a number of blue-based red lipsticks (I am not into tomato-reds). There are just so many to choose from that I was grateful for her guided tour through the many brands. She paid attention when I said I was a fan of Nars brand too. The Sephora at Legacy Place may not be as large as some of the other locations (i.e. Prudential Mall) I've been to, but I usually enjoy my visits here as a self-proclaimed makeup junkie despite the hectic parking situation. Also in many instances when limited edition BI/VIB gifts are released it can sell out quickly at my home Sephora (Chestnut Hill) so this is my backup option to see if they have the items available! Most of the staff/cast members are friendly and helpful. I've come here with one of my friends and she was looking for makeup wipes and she was able to get help immediately and view the variety of options that the store had. My favorite part is probably scoping out the small section of sales near the back that has some gems from time to time. Yes, the Dedham location IS small, as others have pointed out. However, the service is 5 STAR, off-the-charts and FANTASTIC. Having been here several times, I find it's not always the most convenient for me (and the parking scene at Legacy Place can be a hassle, but I often park at PF Chang's, just walk down, get what I need and then go... just a hint), but the people who work here are incredibly NICE. On my second-to-last visit, I was looking for my favorite Chanel perfume, and could not locate it. The saleswoman helped me look, checked drawers, and searched the backroom until she found out. Seriously, some stores would just simply say "no, we're out" and leave it at that. Two days ago, I went in for a particular OPI polish - a $9.50 bottle - and wound up with TWO girls helping me find it. It turned out to be not in the store, so they gave me a code so I could get it shipped free. Really, this is service. Dedham is 5 Stars, Yelpers! read more

I stopped in to find an under eye de-puffer. I asked an associate named Anna which brand she preferred out of 2.... she gave me an honest answer...I told her I'd like to try the cheaper of the two, since I believed in the brand and she didn't judge me... she actually sent me along with a sample of the other brand so I could decide for myself which I liked more. I just got my makeup done here by Alex, and she did such an amazing job!! My makeup looks better than I ever imagined!! To make it even better, Alex was extremely nice and talked me through what she was doing the whole time! Even though today is New Year's Eve and I'm sure Sephora is extremely busy with makeovers on this day, Alex took her time and did such an amazing and thorough job. I'm so disappointed in my experience at this Sephora. I usually have very pleasant experiences, but I have been to this Sephora twice now. The first time I went in and was having a flare up due to my autoimmune disease and the manager legitimately made fun of me for looking like I had a "mask" on and needed my makeup fixed. First off, that is so unnecessary and rude and really hurt me as that was something I could not control. The second time which was yesterday, I asked a few questions and the manager again proceeded to make fun of my skin for being too dry when I asked for recommendations, she kept alluding to my skin care routine when I specifically explained it was due to a recent condition. All I asked for was help picking out a foundation, I didn't need her to pick apart my skin and face with a very condescending tone of voice. For those of you looking for recommendations, my favorite Sephora in the area is the Fenway Sephora. They are always extremely pleasant, kind and helpful. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS SEPHORA!!!! read more

I wanted to give a huge thank you to Alexis, who worked with me during my Custom Makeover. I went with the hopes of being able to do my own makeup for my September wedding and she could not have been more helpful. She took the time to walk me through the importance of skincare and carefully explained each step so I could replicate it at home. She even wrote down the products she used in order, products used, as well as DIAGRAMS of how she was applying product. Trust me when I say that my previous attempts at contouring make me look like a pufferfish. However, I'm confident that I will be able to replicate the look. I've had always enjoyed different selections. I met a rude you g lady which I never asked for her help. She was sure to tell me she was busy. She was at the counter when I checked out. Bluish green color in her hair. Definitely not good for that place with the frown on her face. I think they change people like you change underwear. Inconsiderate staff... I went in on a Friday at noon to get my eyeliner touched up before a date. There were only 2 other customers in the whole store and an empty makeup bar, so I asked the employee if she could do a quick touch up (we're talkin less than 5 mins). She doesn't even say hi she just asked if I had an appointment, and I said no. Me, the customer, had to apologize for not calling ahead? When there was NO ONE at her makeup bar?? She did my liner for me and I tried to be friendly and bro down about eyelashes like "falsies, right?" And she didn't comment or say anything else to me. I felt really judged and like I was being a nuisance to her. She didn't smile or anything. This kinda broke the deal with this location for me. Other times the staff have been okay, maybe a little hard to get a hold of but this experience just really ended it for me. And I never get greeted entering the store, only when leaving it. The sephora in the Pru in Boston has way more stuff and better staff anyways! read more

Located in Legacy Place in Dedham, so there is plenty of parking & if you were in the area doing some shopping its great, but if you are looking for more variety of the different brands then I would try the Braintree or Natick locations. read more

Went and had a makeover yesterday with Alexis and Taylor - those girls are miracle workers . My daughter and I looked amazing all night and we got so many compliments . I would definitely recommend them if you want a makeover and it's free with a $50 purchase . Such a great experience , can't wait to do it again . read more

So damn hit or miss....selection is 3 stars and service is generally no stars. The attitude these girls have is unbelievable...so rude and there was one day a girl literally talked shit about the product I was buying as I was handing the cashier money for it. Really?? Every once in a blue moon when I have to get something I'm helped by somebody really sweet and helpful, but that's so freakin rare. Sooo if I'm spending ~$200 on makeup I expect some sort of customer service. Usually when I go to buy makeup people are practically jumping me in order to help. Here nobody would even give me the time of day! I kept trying to flag people down to assist me and when someone finally did come over after me being there for like 15 minutes, she was like "Can I help you with anything?" and I was like "Um yeah actually I'm trying to pick out some new colors" and then she kept walking and was like "Well come get me if you need help!" It's like um, that was my cue for you to help me. I'm not going to track you down for help if you're going to make me feel awkward about it... I'll keep buying my makeup at Macy's from now on. I would have given this place a 5 since they usually always have everything in stock here and the lines aren't long (quiet location), but their customer service is just terrible! The other day I went to look for a specific luminizer here and it wasn't on display. I wanted to ask somebody whether or not they carried it, but no one who seemed free seemed like they wanted to ask.I even stood around for a good 5-10 minutes in the middle of the store making it obvious that I needed help or had a question. No one came. So finally I decided to check underneath the display in the drawer. The moment I peeked in the drawer, I hear this rude tone of voice behind me asking "Uh, can I help you with something?" I'm thinking "omg, finally", and I ask her if they carry the item. She quickly responds "Umm, no we don't, only South Shore Plaza carries that" then walks away. I walk after her asking if they had something similar and her response was "Okay well I can try to get someone over here to help you, because right now I'm with somebody and can't help you now alright?" It was like she was shooing me away, which made NO sense to me because she was the one who asked me if I needed help in the first place (-_- )! I decided to wait another another 5 minutes, but no one was sent over to help answer my question. Finally my boyfriend pulled someone from the back of the store (fragrances and hair products) who was just organizing the shelf to come answer my question. But this second girl was extremely helpful, which is why I gave it 1 star instead of a ZERO. I'm really disappointed with the crap service at this location. The dumbest part was when I went to check out with $100 worth of items. The first girl who was extremely rude was at the counter. She didn't even look me in the eye and acted like she was ordering an item online for somebody, even though she was free like a second ago when i was standing in line for checkout. If you are coming here to grab something quick then I'd recommend it, but if you have questions or are looking to try out new items, this is NOT the location you'd want to go to. read more

when the Sephora came to Burlington it was novel and exciting. This location? Uninspiring. Its makeup and skin care; isn't that what it is about? Sadly just boring and retail. Selection is strange, not a lot of depth in any one brand and the staff listens to themselves not the guest.... how hard is it really? Ok I am definitely a person that likes to look on the bright side and find the positive so on that note I am going to write a review based on Sarah Rzucidlo (i think is her name). Sarah is not the woman that did my daughters make up. Sarah chatted with us, made my daughter feel welcome and treated her like an equal. My daughter went here for her prom make up. The woman that did the make up started first thing by saying when my daughter showed her the effect she wanted "i dont think 45 minutes we can do all this"(which it was basically eyes) I have been in sales forever. When dealing with a 16 year old who is spending her money to come to you, try to be possitive, I also heard her say to my daughter multiple times "I know what Im doing"(not in a nice tone), as we were in a showroom I didnt want to make a scene so we decided to purchase our stuff, go home and redo the make up. So I was going to write a bad review but instead decided to focus on Sarah. This woman checked on us mulitple times, treated my daughter (who works hard for her money) as an equal and kept us from crying over the orange make up all over my daughters face. I wanted to post the orange makeup photo or mention the womans name but I decided to focus on how great Sarah was. Needless to say, I will not be coming back to this store but Sarah should be commended for seeing how emotional we were and trying to resolve it and keep us happy. read more

I love their variety! They have the best eyeliners and I love that they sell the individual roll-up fragrances, (Daisy and Lola from Michael Jacobs) 20 bucks, done! But I have to say, the staff is not consistent! One day they are super friendly, and another they just don't see you, or can't help you, or get annoyed with questions (yes you can see it in a person's face when they're annoyed). If I'm paying $20 for eyeliner, $30 for some blush I want to know all about it! Maybe they need more training, IDK maybe I'm asking dumb questions... Anyways, I will continue to go there because sometimes I get the person that knows all about everything in there! With that said, I will be swinging by soon to pick up that eyeliner that really lasts all day and hopefully get some help finding some products for my nails because these cuticles need some help! read more

Great experience visiting this location for a custom makeover today. We (myself and a co-worker) had a special event to attend, well actually to host--and doing my own makeup was the last thing that I wanted to worry about on top of the many other tasks to take care of. Our experience at Sephora Legacy Place was flawless. Vanessa was my artist and she made the experience so easy! She really listened and interpreted what I wanted the outcome to be, the whole time checking in and making sure I was comfortable with how it looked. Ruth--the store director--also checked in and made us feel very welcome! We left feeling beautiful and fierce and with one less thing to worry about for the day. I would highly recommend this location, see Vanessa if you can--she definitely knows her products, especially when it comes to skincare. Honestly the beauty advisors here are not friendly, have attitudes, and don't help you. Specifically the one black female advisor with big curling hair. I've been in there twice and encountered her and she has a very bad attitude and doesn't help you when needed. Another cashier always has an attitude as well.
