These people need a lesson on customer service. I went there in the morning and the lady said they were busy and to come back in 1 1/2 hour. So I left and returned late in the afternoon. As soon as they saw me coming back they all started talking in their language and laughing at me and one of them just yelled from there "we are busy, come back tomorrow" Do they think because we don't understand their language we can't read body language? Shame! I won't be going back. One less customer! read more

I love Lee but she is on maternity leave and referred me to see her boss Kimmie while she's gone. I was so unhappy I wanted to cry. I told Kimmie EXACTLY what I wanted, not to take too much from my eye brows and that's the first thing she did!! My only request and she couldn't follow it. It's been over 4 weeks and I will not go back until Lee is back in The mean time I've been to baby/bridal showers and a wedding with horrible eye brows. I have 4 more weeks until Lee is back and I guess I just let them grow out. I do fill my eye brows in with make up but I hate the fake look like they are painted on (which the are!) They are on the expensive side. I had lee paint my toenails and I should have gone to Sephora and bought 2 nails polishes instead. But I don't mind paying for eye brows because Lee has good skills. Lee is awesome, Kimmy as well! They do fantastic job with either manicure or pedicure. If you want perfect gel nails ask for them. Everything is very clean and all the nail polishes organized very nicely. The salon smells good every time no food smell at all. I like coming there, its very quiet and relaxing. Easy to pick colors. I've seen some comments about prices but i think its worth it. Paul (the manager) is always nice and very helpful. I had a gift certificate and was excited to finally use it today. The gift certificate was for a pedicure, manicure, and massage as a package. I called earlier in the day to ask if I could use just one part and come back another time for the rest and the man on the phone said no problem and had me make an appointment. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly boy right away and then told it would just be a little wait. I sat down and then waited more, and more. The woman finally came over to do my pedicure and first tried to sell me some add on oil foot treatment, just after I said "no thank you" she was not happy with me and proceeded to give a 17 minute pedicure. I spent much longer waiting around after my scheduled appointment time then she spent on my feet and this is by far the fastest pedicure I've ever had. When I went to pay and the manager came over he said that now I lost the manicure because it was part of a package deal and that's just how it was. I wasn't in the mood to ask why he didn't tell me that on the phone or ask him why a 17 minute pedicure cost $31? I am not looking forward to returning to use the rest of my gift certificate, but am hoping the next experience is better and I will be able to update this review. I think people love this place so much because maybe they've never experienced better. There is much better and for much cheaper! read more

Me and my mom didn't get nails done since all Covid situation. And I wasn't sure if we are ready to go. We went today , and loved it ! Kim and Paul made some many improvements due to Covid-19. They check your temperature before you coming, then you sign a consent form that you haven't traveled or being in contact with sick person. Shields on each manicure table and pedicure chairs have been installed. Everything is super sterile and clean! I trust this place 100%! They do such a good job not only to stay in business ( I can only imagine how hard it is) , but also they DO CARE about clients . And mani pedi as always great! No customer service and over price. The lady came over with no greeting or smiles. When I said hi to her, she just briefly said hi back and didn't even look at me. She was also bossy to tell me put my feet up, down, in, give that. It was $42 for deluxe pedi, but it was barely a massage, just rubbing lotion, scrub on. I took my daughter for a manicure. The owner of the spa, who gave her the manicure, watered down the color. It was not what she wanted at all. Instead of a bright green, it came out yellow. She was too shy to say anything and she didn't want me to take her back to have it changed. Today I called to make an appointment with my favorite manicurist, MiMi and found out she had been fired for contacting a customer to let the customer know that she was running late for her scheduled appointment. The owner of the spa takes all the phone calls for appointments. This takes attention away from his customers. He leaves his customers to book appointments. I have brought in friends and family to this spa and we have spent a lot of money here. I will no longer recommend this place nor will I ever step foot in this place. I wish MiMi well. My favorite employee got fired for calling me to let me know that she was running a bit behind schedule. He lashed out at her that she had no right to contact any customer for any reason. I'm actually really surprised by the negative reviews here. I get my nails done at Dedham Day Spa pretty much every other week, and have never had a problem. Seriously - I am a SPA FREAK - and I actually prefer their pedicures to more high-end options such as Exhale in Boston, or even Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires. The standard pedicure includes a short, hot stone massage, and the polish (on a pedi) really does usually last a full two weeks. (I wear sandals or flip flops pretty much every day - May through September - so am pretty tough on a pedicure.) As for kids - I've taken a 9 year-old in a couple of times for the "Princess Mani/Pedi." They did a great job, owner actually did it the first time, and she was thrilled with the designs on a few of her nails. Also - the owners' kids are frequently in there - the little one is usually running around, but always fairly well-behaved, not at all disruptive (and honestly - despite the fact that I mentioned the 9 year old - she's the exception - I am SO NOT a kid-person), and actually very cute. Older one is sometimes taking appointments, working the register or just doing homework. I've had a couple of massages there - not the best I've ever had, but not the worst - and seriously, the price is right. Only problem I've had - had a brow wax - WAY TOO SEVERE - not sure that the technician was as experienced as she should have been. (Hence 3 star rating instead of 4.) read more

I went for Swedish massage and pedicure. Nice service and reasonable price. This was my first try Swedish massage. I felt relaxing but I prefer the deep tissue for next time. The oil fragrance is not my pleasure and I came out with itchy on my neck and back. I have sensitive skin which might cause the itching. I have given this salon many tries, four separate occasions to be exact, and I must say that I am not pleased with the production of their work at all. Each time I've gone here I've sat with different technicians to have my nails done (gel manicure) but I found that the end product was ultimately the same. The gel manicure is/was very sloppy, leaving residue on both my skin as well as the inner edges of my nails and cuticles. One of the technicians I sat with even went as far as to cutting the polish off of my cuticle resulting in pain and a cut, as you all can imagine. Also, the application of the nail polish was very bulky, unevenly applied, and began chipping two days later. I'm not a fan of Dedham Day Spa, I suggest spending your dollars else wear! read more

Came here for the deep pore cleanse and Kim took great care of me. My face felt better than 110% and no break-outs afterwards which was a bonus. Even if you make an appointment, you will have to wait or what they usually do is recommend someone else once you are in the salon. Her staff is always changing, not much consistency. Her work is 5 stars. however, I can not comment on her staff. They change too often so I don't bother with anyone other than Kimmy. read more

I agree, the owner (not sure if he is the owner but he is always present), while he has always seemed to try to do a good job, and he has always been very pleasant, I'm afraid he just doesn't have the knack for nails or maybe is just too distracted by incoming calls. I'd strongly suggest he seriously consider sticking to greeting and taking calls, then, maybe, reviews will go up (people do use yelp to make decisions). I highly recommend Tony or Kimmy; they are both excellent. I can't comment on any others working there, since I have yet to experience their work. I made an appointment for a mani and they were nice enough to change it to a mani and pedi. I got the worst Manicure and Pedicure I have ever had. The girl (MIchelle Le) kept cutting my cuticles and skin until finally I was cut and could not stop bleeding. I asked her to put Neosporin on it and she put some blue color liquid and it still bled. My red tonenails are all smudge from the mistakes she made and tried t clean up, I could have done a better job myself and yet I paid........finally during the manicure she said.....you pay now I'm sorry I cut you and put the smallest amount of Neosporin on my finger. I also noticed a cut in the side of my nail from her incessant nipping.......NEVER again, they say Day SPa so they can charge you another $10 for the same shitty service you get anywhere else. read more

I went here for a last-minute but much needed massage. Called at 10 and made a 1:30 appointment. The place is well appointed - more of a really nice nail salon than a massage place but the room. Didn't get nails done but it was very nicely set up and I would definitely go back and do a pedicure. The massage was good, though the pressure could have been a little better and more even. But it was $95 for 90 minutes which I thought was a good value. All in all, a good place to go if you are looking for a decent massage at a decent price. read more

First time I went here I had a decent experience. Got my eyebrows done by Kimmie then my nails done by one of the technicians no complaints. Second time horrible! Eyebrows came out fine it's when it cam to my mani that it took a left turn. Kimmie started to do my nails and I guess she had another customer come in, instead of finishing me up she had the manager polish my nails. He did a horrible job the polish was lumpy and not neat at all. I asked him to promptly remove it. They exchanged works in their language and Kimmie stated she'll redo it for me. I felt so awkward at this point. Then while I'm doing my pedi she comes to do my nail I found this unprofessional ( she could have waited). One nail had a scrape and Kimmie pretended to not see it until I called her out on it. They all started talking in their language again presumably about me. I was so upset and felt I was not being treated with respect. I also notice they like to push services on customers. You come in for a regular mani and they will try to sell the gel more money of course! I won't be going back there! There are way better nail shops in Dedham alone. read more

Dedham Day Spa is one of the best nail salons out there in this area. They are very good at what they do and take it seriously. The owner Kimmy has years of experience. Call to make an appointment if you want to get her, she is too booked up for walkins. I think you pay slightly more than at other places here, but it is worth it for their expertise and quality work.
