I LOVE Sephora. I am visiting almost every Sephora everywhere i go. I can spend here hours, trying makeup, and buying new stuff. Today, i went to the Sephora in the Century City Mall. I was amazed! The customer service here was just amazing! From the moment i entered the door, a nice girl greeted me, asked me for my beauty insider account, and called someone to help me. Her name was Linda, and she was very nice, kind, friendly and attentive. She helped me with everything i needed with patient, while she was smiling all the time. It was an excellent experience. Have a great selection of products! They have Fenty, Too Faced, Urban Decay, all the big name brands! I just wish they had some of the Korean beauty products that other locations have. Customer service is normally pretty great but today when I went in the cashier (Diana I believe) was kinda rude. Barely greeted me and when I asked to redeem my points (I have thousands saved up as I rarely like what they offer in store) she acted like she didn't get what I wanted but eventually did get what I asked for. What was also very odd is that everyone was getting free samples but for some reason she never asked me if I wanted anything. I'm Rouge so you have to spend a lot of money to get to that level and with that status normally comes along with inside deals and promotions and I was offered none by her. This particular review is aimed at Michelle B. who is in charge of the Fragrance aisle- Michelle kindly and ever so patiently helped me on picking a fragrance on my first visit to Sephora at this location. She not only helped me with my choice of fragrance, but also recommended similar scents that matched my style- I have rarely received such good assistance from anywhere in regards to frangrance, and wrote a review to Sephora personally, but also wanted to leave a review here in case it could not be seen. Please do keep good people like Michelle around, and she was the reason I returned for purchase. I was assisted by this girl with blonde medium length hair, fair skin. I asked for a sample of the Bobbi Brown foundation. She color matched me first and recommended a shade too tanned. I had contour on that day so matching me to my neck is not going to be a smart move. So I asked for a different color than what she recommended. Her response was "so you don't want the color that matches your skin!" I then went home to try it in on and I thought it was a perfect match! I went online to try and buy it there and realized she didn't even write down the shade that it was! One of the worse customer service experiences I've had. Customer service was great, but at one point it got annoying. I was shopping for about 2 hours and every 5-10 minutes someone would ask "Do you have any questions? Do you need a bag? Is there anything I can help you with?" It got to the point of where I didn't even want to be there anymore or buy anything because I couldn't just look around in peace. Also put some products I had in my hand away and someone came up to me and said "oh did the products you were holding not work out? I can put them away for you." I would think after a certain amount of time they'd stop asking questions and would assume I'd ask them if I did. Just beware that if you walk into this location, you'll be annoyed to death with the questions they constantly ask you. read more

AWFUL. If you like smiley service in your face and rude looks behind your back, this is the place for you. Honestly, I feel like I just walked out of a scene of Mean Girls. This sephora has poor customer service and professionalism. Yesterday, I was told by two separate associates over the phone that my products would be held until the end of the following day. When I went in to pick them up the following day they were not on hold. I was then told by the cashier, 'Arnii' and the "area coordinator" that items in high demand are only held until the end of the same day, so my products were no longer on hold and there were no others remaining in the store. That is an arbitrary and dysfunctional rule unless all associates are following it and properly informing customers. I also caught the cashier, 'Arnii' and another cashier making rude faces when I walked off. Super unprofessional and less than accommodating. There's no amount of Fenty foundation that could cover this place's ugly insides. I only plan to come back to get the cashiers' names and report them to their bosses. read more

Worst customer service in awhile. Came in after a horrible day looking for a concealer like my favorite Sonia Kashuk I use for contouring that was discontinued, and tried a couple out. The first two women were standing next to eachother talking, and acted as though I was interrupting their conversation, so I continued with my list from the website. I needed help deciding on a concealer, and was ignored twice by the same blond woman until I asked for help a little louder before she tried to walk away. I asked if there was a concealer a little less intense than the Kevyn Aucoin, and apologized for looking ridiculous (I was ghost white with a couple concealers on my face). She stated her opinion of not using a concealer as part of a contouring method (all the while looking at me like I was insane), but this is the way I like to do my contouring, so whatever. She kept trying to switch me back and forth between the two concealers I was debating on, I think so she could get rid of me. She basically acted like I was the bane of her existence the entire time, seemed annoyed (though I didn't feel like asking what I was asking was annoying), and made me so uncomfortable after she chucked the wrong Shiseido item I was looking for into my basket abruptly and rudely remarked "ANYTHING ELSE?" Goodness, I only asked you for two items. How do you get around in life treating people that way? And seeing the other reviews, I won't be back. I used to love this Sephora but have noticed the customer service at this location has gotten worse. It's been really difficult to get samples from the associates, and many of them are not very good at color-matching your foundations. I think that they are overstaffed at a time when there are few customers out and about! I stopped in and every few seconds I was approached by someone, or multiple people. I understand that it's probably within their training to make sure that every customer is checked in on but this was so overwhelming. It is also part of customer service to have a good gauge on whether a customer would need some space and to give that to them and not hound them every few seconds. AVOID THIS STORE AND SEPHORA COMPLETELY if you don't wanna end up with such a nightmare experience as I did. I hate to leave negative reviews, but after a terrible in-store experience and 2 weeks of time-consuming and yet useless communications with the corporate office, I feel obliged to give some precautions to my fellow lady shoppers: (1) don't buy at Sephora! Hello, it's 2017! Do we want to give our hard-earned money to a company that doesn't care or respect their customers, just like UA? (2) don't go into this or other stores! Otherwise you may walk away with ruined clothes, mental scars and some other injuries; (3) wear some chemical protection garment (as shown in the photo), if, for whatever reason, you have to go into the store. This is no joke after you read about my experience as follows: On 6/17/2017, after a long day at work, I decided to do some shopping as a self-reward. That's when I went into this store. It's already early evening, and there were not many customers. However, as I was checking items on one shelf, one store assistant rushed behind my back, all of a sudden, screaming out "oh no!" Turned out, when she tried to replace a bottle of liquids, some sort of foundation or other makeup, she dropped it and the spills got all over my black silk pants. The store manager and another assistant tried to clean my pants with some in-store stain remover (either water or alcohol), but it didn't work at all, only to cause further damage to my pants. The store manager asked me to fill out a damage form and sent me away. I had to run back home in my rather ruined pants. I understood that accidents like this may happen, but what I didn't expect is, this is just the unpleasant beginning of a total nightmare in dealing with the company's client relations. I sent my pants to a dry cleaner right next day. However, after two times of professional cleaning effort, the stains in my pants cannot be removed, and the silk fabric was permanently discolored and ruined. During the following week, at the company's request, I sent a formal claim, filled out all the blanks with details, along with photo evidence. Now in retrospect, it's completely a waste of my time and energy. I did everything I could to cooperate in this claim process. But the client relations came back unapologetically, trying to brush this incident off as some "inconvenience" and completely disregarding my reasonable claim of damages. They offered a small dollar amount that's a fraction of the damage I suffered to close this claim. After I declined the offer, they said if I don't accept the offer, they would move the claim to the insurance company that may just deny the claim. By playing the insurance card, they basically tried to coerce me into settling the claim at their terms. What a "brilliant" move! I am just so appalled! I still can't believe this is how they deal with customers, treating us like pigs. Part of me didn't want to waste more time with another UA-like company; I could have just moved on, convinced that I just got robbed by a dumb criminal named S*****. But part of me firmly believes in justice, believing that customers should be treated fairly and given all the love and respect we deserve. After all, these companies won't exist if we customers stop buying their stuff and stop feeding to their greed and arrogance. So I decide to share my experience here, and I hope it will help you, all my lovely ladies, to discern what's true beauty and what's just ugliness under the disguise of selling beauty. Nice and big store. However, since the Century City mall is now a tourist spot it gets very crowded on certain days. I made the mistake of coming in on the weekend to get matched. The store was packed but I was able to get an artist to help me. The lady who helped me rushed during the whole process and matched me for a foundation that was too dark for me even after I told her it was too dark. So instead of her doing her job she just gave me a bunch of samples for me to try myself at home... alrighty then. I didn't get the experience I had at other locations. So... Got profiled yesterday evening (12/7/19, Saturday) at Sephora at the Century City Westfield Plaza (this particular store location). As many times I've shopped there bringing business to that establishment, this was the first time this has knowingly occurred. At first, everything was fine, we were in there for about a good hour shopping. Each representative from each section were attentive, pleasant, and offered assistance as instructed.. However.. At one point before we decided to close our shopping to proceed to checkout, we decided to take a look at some makeup pallets in one section when 3 different Sephora associates decided to approach us and surround us within seconds of each other, asking us the same question "Can I help you with anything?" One of the associates asked me the question first, I declined.. the second associate crossed behind us, rudely reached over my shoulder to pretend she was looking at a product and asked the same question, I declined again.. the third associate which was the general manager, asked my friend the same question. When my friend responded "No thank you, we're just shopping", the general manager associate spoke into her headset microphone and said, "Okay, she is just shopping" in a condescending manner, then they all walked away. This was blatant and obvious profiling, not to mention we were one of the Very small few Black faces in that establishment. For whatever reason, we were profiled, singled out, then approached as if to be a threat of theft. We did purchase our items and left the establishment, however my spirit felt uneasy about that incident After leaving and reflecting on what happened, so I decided to return back and confront them about their behavior towards us as customers. Unfortunately, the person that I wanted to confront (the general manager) was unavailable, so I spoke with another associate general manager to resolve the situation. After this unpleasant experience, I highly doubt I'll return to give any more business to Sephora, nor will I recommend to anyone else. The whole point of mentioning this incident is to not only bring awareness to what is happening in America and the involvement that some people have, as well as insensitivities or prejudices that they have because of how a person looks or a person dresses, which they may feel is uncomfortable for them or isn't the norm to them. For those type of individuals, you have no idea what type money is coming into the establishment, and through whom. It can come in any shape, size, race, color, dressing, whatever... Your job as a representative of the business is to provide the best quality customer service experience to help the economy and to help the business. Regardless of the season, this type of behavior is unacceptable and will not and should not be tolerated! Those who have experienced anything similar to this in any business establishment should speak up and not be passive.. Listen to your gut or intuition when something does not seem right. Waste of time for anyone looking for help with products. The girls at the front of the store could care less about their customers, and would rather chat amongst themselves. The store had very low inventory (about 3/10 items I need to purchase) and the sales person that finally did help me left halfway through and never came back! The store was dirty, crowded, and lacking any adult employees. Go straight to Bloomingdales or Macy's (which is where I went to after I left Sephora) and have them help you. Products are expensive and some employees are rude. My name is Stella and I am a 12 year old girl. A couple of months ago my friend, Bianca, and I went to sephora to see if we can find any makeup supplies that suit us. We spent about ten minutes trying out makeup and painting our faces. Being new with the concept of makeup, we looked pretty bad at the end of our trip. I'll admit we did mess around a little and went a little crazy with the makeup but we did not disturb anyone, nor make a mess. When we wanted to leave, we knew that we would look ridiculous going out with a face full of unprofessional, crazy makeup. Due to this, we decided that it would probably be efficient to remove our makeup. After spending a solid fifteen minutes trying to remove our makeup with the makeup remover they provided at the makeup stands, we realized most of it would not come out. We checked the containers and wrappers of the makeup and saw that the makeup that refused to come off was some sort of long lasting makeup. After another failed attempt of trying to remove the leftover of makeup that would not come off, we asked an employee for advice of a stronger makeup remover that we can use. The employee said that they did not know one of the kind and that we should just continue using the regular makeup remover. We asked another employee for advice and they showed us one that had some sort of oil in it. The container said 'for samples' and we brought it back to our table and used a couple of pumps of it. The makeup remover we used proved to be a lot better and removed nearly all of the makeup successfully. A tall man, who later said that he was the manager, came up to us and told us that we couldn't use anymore of the makeup remover and that it was only meant to provide one pump of makeup remover to a person. Bianca, my friend, tried to tell him that we were only trying to remove our makeup, but he interrupted her with the threat of kicking us out. I apologized and tried to explain what was going on but he was refusing to listen and was just being rude. He then made us leave. He watched us leave, glaring at us as if we would pull a gun out at him. If there is a choice between Sephora and another makeup store, I would definitely choose the other one. read more

Thursday evening 9/13 I went to buy the Korres overnight cream which usually brings me to the store (I could easily buy online, but I love to browse). I waited in line a rather long time to pay while watching at least three associates chat behind the counter. When someone opened a register to take my money, she was still chewing food. I recently had the worst break out of my life. I had an event the next day so I went to sephora in hopes that I could be assisted in finding something that could help me cover it up as much as possible. A make up artist named Sharon listened to my concern and helped me find a foundation that was best fit for my sensitive skin with full coverage. She showed me how to apply it best to avoid irritating the breakout further. She couldn't have been more helpful. After finding the best fit foundation she introduced me to their skincare expert Lucy. Lucy told me exactly what the use on my skin to calm it and prevent the breakout from getting worse. I can tell these ladies feel passionately about their jobs and will do whatever they can to meet the customer's needs. read more
