Couldn't resist picking up a complimentary "You Wouldn't Get It" lipstick on National Lipstick Day! You wouldn't get it unless you're into a variety of colors for your soft, kissable crests. I had the BEST experience at MAC Cosmetics and I had to leave a review because Tea deserves her flowers From the moment I walked in, Tea was so warm, welcoming, and attentive. She really took her time to understand what I wanted and didn't just try to sell me products, she educated me, showed me how to apply everything, and made sure I felt confident every step of the way. Everytime I go here, I have a great experience. The staff are always so friendly and charming, and have the patience to help me explore new products and find what I'm looking for. I ended up buying my wedding makeup from this location! I appreciate how I don't feel rushed in there, and the employees make the time to try new things on me rather than being annoyed as other non-MAC stores have been. I had the pleasure of getting my makeup done by Jason yesterday! I'm super particular about my makeup, Jason listened so intently and had me check after each thing he did to make sure I liked it. I asked for a few changes, and he was super receptive and open to any suggestions I had. Not only is he an incredibly talented makeup artist, he is so sweet and funny- not only did I leave with the most lethal full beat, I had so much fun in the process! Also wanted to shoutout Tea and Kevin- both SO sweet and helpful, Tea gave me the best shade match! There is a very tall black woman that works there that looked me up and down and gave mega mean girl vibes, but my multiple experiences (mainly pop-ins) have been overwhelmingly positive. read more

I wish I could give zero stars for this very unfriendly UN-Customer Service based Store in Century City Westfield Mall. Absolutely do yourself a favor and walk over to the Mac counter in Nordstrom where they are very friendly and very helpful. I was crest fallen to be told that no one could help me apply a pair of lashes when there were three people working in the store and Zero customers. A manager told me I could do it myself. I explained to her that it was my birthday and I had three pairs of lashes that I purchased from them and I just needed help applying them and it wouldn't take more than five minutes. Three workers talking amongst themselves couldn't take a moment to help a huge customer who spends thousands of dollars a year in there????? I will never return here. alex helped me find the skincare and makeup i needed, and was fantastic. he offered to help me try out a few of each product to find my perfect shades, and was patient, kind and fun. he took his time to make sure it was an absolutely perfect match, and advised some products i didn't know i needed (including fast response eye cream) which were helpful for my concerns. he managed to help myself and two other groups of women at the same time while providing attentiveness to all of us. i've always loved mac cosmetics and alex went above and beyond, recommending just the right products without pressure. i purchased the studio fix liquid + powder foundation, pro longwear concealer, and soar lip liner, and alex threw in a few free gifts! thank you! read more

The customer service was great! Me and my sister went in on a Saturday, late...and we tried the MAC powder compact and setting spray. We ended up getting both! What a terrible experience! I've tried to give this location the benefit of the doubt on too many occasions. I'm the ideal shopper, I rarely have free time so when I'm out shopping I'm easily swayed to buy, not on a budget, and easy to please. Even more rarely, I have time to go to an event which I did in early November. When I booked my appointment, I noted I wanted Halloween makeup which has never been an issue and I actually got my make done there by an awesome artist named Alex the year prior (whom has since left for greener pastures) . There was an accident on neighboring streets and I was stuck, so I called the store and told them I'd be approx 10min late. Unfortunately, it ended up being closer to 15min which I acknowledged. When I arrived, there were 3 artists on the floor, only one actively doing someone's makeup. The store was not busy. It was shocking when I arrived to be told that I was asking for "special effects" makeup. To be clear I wanted a joker look (corners of lips pulled and a a triangle above one eye brow, triangle below lower lash--- nothing complicated, same exact look Alex had done for me ). I was told they needed to talk to the store manager (Sharita? ) . When she finally came out from the back after 10 or so minutes, she couldn't have been in a worse mood. I've never felt so attacked! Wow! She's belittling, condescending and rude is an understatement. Rolling of eyes, attitude for miles, raised voice so the entire store could hear. The amount of times she said that she couldn't plan around someone else's fault for being late. I was so confused when she's said you can get your "eyes , maybe brows, and no lips , no Halloween makeup and if there's time , maybe foundation". She said I'd have to get 1/2 done and purchase the same amount of products as even though I wouldn't get the full time. Again, the cost wasn't my concern but it's the fact that she was trying to make it impossible for me to agree. She was visibly upset when I said "sure, okay". She then said "you know you need to pay for products, right?!". Rude. Again, it wasn't busy, 4 employees and I only saw one person after me get their makeup done. The artist that did my makeup was sweet, her name is Beige . She's the only redeeming quality. She was rushed, nervous and was constantly hawked by the store manager whom would literally walk by with nasty, snarky looks and say things like "hmm, shocked you got so far " , to which Beige stated she was "making her so stressed" and she was afraid not to meet her expectations. My makeup was okay, I don't blame the artist under the conditions. I had to do my own makeup at home after and it turned out well but essentially I should have just done my own. The only reason I stayed was because I was in a time crunch and I thought it would cut down time to get ready. Once my makeup was done, I had no lip makeup so Beige put out lip liner for me to put on myself, which I was being watched by the store manager while I did so. When I was done, the store manager said "ugh hello, you need to buy items $90 worth of items!". I told her I had picked out some items that Beige placed at the register. Apparently another artist put them back. Not my fault but the store manager huffed and puffed which was so uncomfortable. I then started over and was so uneasy that I picked things random things simply to get out of there, items that I don't use. What a waste. Another Prior Experience: On July 4th I made an appointment to get my makeup done for a wedding (I was 10min early to my appointment). The artist informed me they were running behind and asked me to come back in 30min. I did. Then I waited another 30min. Over an hour past my appointment time and they finally started my makeup-- final result was okay but the foundation match was pretty off which I had to blend out at my neckline. Also, they closed their doors while I was getting my makeup done, while the rest of the mall was open for 2 more hours. It seems strange. I barely made it to the wedding on time. I thought this experience was a one-off but now I'm realizing why the best artists (originally from the Hollywood location) have left. It's a poorly run store, terrible customer service. I wish I knew where Alex went, I'd hire him as a freelance artist. I guess I'll have to go to the Culver City MAC going forward. It's obvious why that location has such better reviews! You'd think such a high profile store (Century City) would have the best managers, artists and customer service and it's the opposite!! I feel bad for the workers as well. read more

The customer service here is inexcusably horrible. It would be an understatement to say that on a recent visit the employees were beyond rude. I was yelled at, verbally attacked and belittled by a black female employee (short, heavy set, with brown bushy hair). While I was standing at the counter I made note of the date, time, and got another employees name. This MAC does not in anyway reflect the top tier service received by all of the other stores located in the Century City mall. Something is off here and it's concerning. At least one other review mentions being yelled at by an employee. I have not had time, but will be calling MAC HR and notifying Century City mall management of the incident that occurred. My experience here was awful. Sorry for the delayed revie but this happened in August 2023. I made an appointment for my upcoming birthday photoshoot. I explained my look was 90s Calvin Klein ads simple air make up nothing drastic. I was early to my appointment. Upon arrival u was made to wait 10 minutes running into my appointment. Once I was seated I spent another 5 minutes explaining the make up look I wanted. Mind you the appointment is only 45 minutes. They were understaffed and the store seemed chaotic and the manager African American lady was not in the best of moods walking around asking if the employees had taken their lunch breaks. My appointment was scheduled for 12:30 noon. To make matters worse the young lady applying my make up kept being interrupted by a customer with no appointment. By now we are 30 minutes into my 45 min appointment. The manager stomps out from the back room confronts the customer with no appointment and makes her way to my area sends my make up artist on break and rudely accuses me of not knowing what look I want and rudely tells me I have 10 minutes left and we are done! I advised her I was not given the proper make up artist nor full attention. Worse experience ever. I will never shop here ever again and that's saying a lot since I am employed at a law firm right across the street and find myself at the mall every other day. read more

SHARITA HUDSON (Store Manager) is a Superstar! I love MAC, and it is the only brand I've used for 35 years! Yesterday, I explicitly visited their Century City store to assemble a new makeup regimen. With Sharita's expertise, she chose all the products I would need. She explained each product she'd be using and the importance of the ingredients and their effects on my face. Starting with the Serum Powered Foundation, the perfect shade of the Studio Moist Illusion Moist Silky Foundation, the 24-Hour Wear Concealer, Every-Wear All-Over Face Pen, Blush & Bronzer, the unbelievable Skin Finish Bizarre Blizzard Dash, and the final touch of the Fix & Stay Over mist which made my makeup last 10 hours. The Glow Play Lip Balm in a beautiful color, The importance of a lipstick is to never go anywhere without it! I'm 70-years old, and have never looked younger! This MAC store is located in the newly renovated century city mall. MAC is makeup artists' favorite brand. The brush sets, foundations, etc are well made and relatively affordable. I love that MAC has 200+ lip colors, 7 or 8 textures ~~ I mean everyone will be able to find her (or his) favorite one. To me, it's always the brick o la, cosmo, girl about town, ruby woo~~~ and MAC frequently does fun collaborations with artists (not always practical but fun for sure). I used to love MAc cosmetics until I met the manager of this store . My husband bought me some make up as a gift during xmas . Not liking the color , I went to either exchange or refund , yes Paper receipt was missing . But I had the credit card that was used , paper statements from credit card that showed time and date it was purchased . Not only was this Manager rude with absolute no quality of customer service , she was proud to give me hard time for 15 mins making fun that no ones come to return without paper receipt. I asked for customer service number ,she gave it with a smirk that they are going to say the same thing . MAC , if you are listening you need to train your staff on customer service / customer acquisition. Today 's day and age where most brands try to save environment by emailing the receipt ,Your policy is to absolute need of paper receipt is down right foolish. Here you lost another customer . Such an amazing experience today at this store! I came in to find a perfect lipstick for my friend's wedding for myself and fellow bridesmaids. I spent so much time at the store trying every shade and sending to the bride. Natsumi helped me with everything and was so nice and professional, and very patient, she helped us to figure everything out. This experience makes me want to only shop at this specific store from now on, even though it's not the closest to where I live. This was my first time at a MAC store ever as I was starting to look for concealer options and the one staff person there Schuron was literally a fairy godmother to me and my best friend. She was so sweet, joyful, personable, funny, eager to help, patient with all of my questions, kept a safe distance while wearing a mask, and just all around welcoming. When we left, my friend even said "I have never felt more safe in my life" and I agreed. Thank you for the best customer service Schuron and I'll always come back to this MAC store. I came into the store today to buy an eyeshadow, I was looking at the product and this poor woman was asking the SA to match her for an eyebrow pencil. The SA told her to come back with her pencil so she match her, woman left empty handed with a sad look on her face. I then went to pay for my eyeshadow. I told the SA I needed help finding a shadow for mature eyes, she rang me up and told me to have a nice day friend!!! Her name was elizabeth. This is for the MAC store in the Century City Mall. I went in to return two brushes but was not given a receipt by paper or by email. When I went back the manager, Liz was extremely rude right away. I explained my situation she said the store policy was I must have a receipt or make an exchange. I thought to myself okay, w/in 30 days maybe I missed the receipt in an email but nothing. She was standing by the door (Covid) and I asked if I could see some brushes because maybe I could make an exchange. She literally did not allow me in the store. She said I can see the brushes from where I stood which was outside and the brushes were in the back corner. Called a few days later and Liz happen to answer the phone. She remembered me and said she explained the store policy and that she would not refund and that again I could make a one time exchange as a "courtesy" or that I would "have to make the brushes I have work". Honestly, I have never heard such words come from a store employee. She also proceeded to tell me the brushes I had were not used for what I was looking for. Again, these brushes were recommended to me by a MAC employee. This is a major company, I have never encountered a sales associate as rude as her and she is a manager! This is a terrible person to have running a store and working with customers. She really lacked social pragmatics and overall customer service skills. I would not define this incident to MAC as an overall company but I do think this particular person LIZ needs to be looked into. I noticed she has a couple of other bad reviews on here. I will say I called corporate and everyone I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and fantastic to work with. Don't let one very bad Apple ruin MAC for you.
