Make Over Central! I love Sephoria. I was given the gift of a make-over for Christmas two years ago. I have always been a bit of a Tom Boy and never really picked up on the applying make-up correctly. My first visit consisted of one-on- one attention that was not rushed. My consultant really listed to my wants and style versus trying to make me look trendy or done up. We ended up buying a whole make-up kit since I owned nothing. I got a rewards card that tracks the product I use and gives me points to redeem and try new product. I loved all the free samples that Sephora gives! Over the past two years I have begun to feel really confident about my make-up knowledge and skills. I have gone into Sephora accidentally picked up the wrong shade and was able to exchange it with no hassle, I've been curious about make up trends and the consultants would teach me and let me try out a new look, I have even gotten more assistance in helping vary up my make up style. I think that the customer service at Sephora it what really sells this place, since you can get the same make-up product at other boutiques. I would recommend all the product, service, and selection at this Sephora location. In the past two years my make up product has lasted me 6 months to a year before I ran out and had to replace it with more. You do pay a little extra for the product because of the quality and customer service, but I think it is a reasonable value. I've been a fan of Sephora ever since I was little! Between the hundreds of brands the stores carry, to the friendly staff, there is literally something for everyone in that store! (Including men!!) What's nice about Sephora is that because their employees are trained to know about so many brands, they can give you an honest opinion about what has(n't) worked for them and other clients. They can also help you stay within a certain budget too. Wanna buy a concealer but don't want to spend more than $40? They got you girl! Now that Sephora has that colorIQ thing, it has made finding your foundation shade MUCH easier! I've also use the skinIQ thing to find my current moisturizer that I'm using and absolutely love! The best part about Sephora is that members program. I'm a VIB Rouge (aka I spend $1,000+ a year at Sephora) so I get perks on perks on perks!! But even the lower level BIs get birthday gifts, perks and a small discount during the holidays! Sephora sure knows how to keep us coming back! read more

I've not spent time in Sephora before but decided it was time for a make-over. So, I scheduled one at Oxmoor Mall for a Sunday afternoon. Not sure why I chose Sunday because the make-over counter was not packed but the store had a great deal of foot traffic. Children. Strollers. You get the idea. At points hard to concentrate but my make-up person, Kristin, was awesome. She was very knowledgeable about the products and did an excellent job. I was very pleased with the outcome. I did spend over $50 so my make-over was "complimentary". The store is bright and full of different products. It is a little overwhelming. So, I've not purchased every product that we used that day, like blush and lipstick but the foundation is important and I really loved some of the products. I will go back. Just not on a Sunday. Such a busy place today!! Despite being far outnumbered by their customers, the staff did everything they could to be helpful. They pointed me in the right direction for what I was looking for. I went in just to have a look around and well you know what happens next... Cue to me spending money on makeup even though I just ordered some items at sephora.com a few days prior. I really love going into these types of places simply to see what sorts of things are out there. I love the beautifully packaged makeup especially the palettes. So it can be a danger to visit... Quite honestly, I have been an Ulta fan in the past because it's usually less crowded and more spread out, however, I find Sephora offers more sales than Ulta, and clearances down nice things. For that reason alone I will shop there more often. Tuesday I left with: Tokidoki makeup brushes -- OMG so freakin' cute!!! (3 in the set - on sale for $14) Tarina Tarantino lipstick - on sale for $14 Tarina Tarantino eye liner - on sale for $9 Josie Maran eye liner (I'm not familiar with this brand -- it's what was recommended to me**) - not on sale for $22 Sephora brand pencil sharpener - $3 When I checked out, I had points to get a 100 point item and they had a beautiful Nars lipliner that matched my new lipstick really well. I was happy to see this wasn't a tiny sample. This lip liner will probably last me the next year. **The only reason why I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is I was a bit miffed by the person who was asking if I needed help. She was with other employees moving things around. She asked if I needed any help and I told her what I was looking for. I really think she picked up the first thing in arms distance and then went back to helping the other employees. I continued to look around for another item like I had but as we all know, it can be overwhelming in there sometimes. Despite the latter, I am fairly satisfied with the store... I am also happy with their online store. I placed an order a few days ago and it came with A LOT of samples, some actually were decent sized for samples. Including a beautiful Dior lipstick that I cashed in for 100 points. There was only one color available to use for your points and I was happy it matched my skin tone perfectly. Very rude employees. If you look like you aren't rich they won't even acknowledge you at all. Upon entering the store behind another lady who had on a large Gucci purse and Chanel shades on her head, all the employees were quick to greet and smile at her but looked down and away at me when it came to my turn. Guess they assumed I couldn't potentially be a customer if I was wearing sneakers & jeans. But it's ok because I wouldn't wanna spend my hard earned money on a establishment where I don't feel welcome and I only needed to cut through this place to get to the apple store anyway. read more

My daughter and I went into Sephora, because she wanted to buy a new foundation. We were looking between a Nars and a Laura Mercier foundation. And asked an employee for a recommendation. Jenna (the employee) at Oxmoor Mall Louisville steered us in another direction. And her color match was spot on! She was so nice, and treated us like she had all day. (even convinced us to buy two more of the products she used on my face.) I will be coming back to this Sephora because of the experience that Jenna gave my daughter and I. If I could, I would give her 10 stars! I am going to recommend her to anyone that needs some advice about which makeup to buy and if they ever need their makeup done for a special event. read more

Mackenzie should definitely not be in the customer service industry. She was very rude from beginning to end of my transaction. When she got my email she put her hand up and said, "Wait!" because apparently I was spelling too fast. There's a polite way to ask someone to repeat themselves, and that certainly wasn't it. When I asked her about my beauty awards and where to locate items on the app, she was dismissive and said I don't know or I'm not sure. It was very slow, so it's not like she couldn't have taken 30 seconds to ask someone who might have known the answer. While her pink pixie hair definitely fit in with the Sephora look, her attitude certainly did not. read more

The staff is very helpful. I was greeted several times and asked if I needed any help. They answered all my questions and gave me a sample of foundation to take home. The store is clean and they looked well stocked. There was one thing I wanted that they didn't have so they offered to check another store/order online. read more

I give it one star because I took my cousin here for her first time and this old lady followed us around the store the entire time. Of all the Sephora's I've to I've never had this type of experience. It was a very uncomfortable environment and no one should experience this especially when spending money in ones establishment the other employees were very helpful . It's the best Sephora in this area. They are organized and customer service is great as well. I have very sensitive skin so I always want to try before I actually buy, so Sephora is perfect for me. Staffs are knowledgeable even they don't have the answer at the time, they try to look up the information I'm looking for. And in your birthday month, you get mini gift. I got lip gloss and blush. I've been to Sephora at numerous locations before, but I've finally gone to this location with the intention of buying make-up for a Ziggy Stardust costume (you'll be missed, Starman). I went to Sephora yesterday with some things I knew I wanted: a cream glitter in a gold tone -- whether that was cream blush or lipstick or eyeshadow, and at least one cream coral base for my face. I was greeted immediately by one of their employees, who I got the impression from may be a manager, named Amanda. I told her what I was doing and all of the things I needed. With her past in editorial and stage make-up, she was the perfect person to help me. She told me a cream-based concealer would be great for helping the glitter adhere, and she actually sent me to the MAC counter at Macy's to help with that. I always consider it great customer service when folks are up front with you about what they have and are actually interested in what you need -- in this case, a look you're trying to achieve. She also knew things to add to the mix that I thought would be helpful and also just ended up being nice make-up to have around in general. As well, she helped me explore some options for cheek color that was cream based and recommended me certain brands that would have the majority of these types of products so I wasn't running around the entire store. So, not only was the selection great for the few things I ended up getting there, Amanda sent me out of the store to get one thing I needed and they didn't have, which she did from the get go. Many of us who are going into Sephora know that the atmosphere is sleek, designed to pique your interest, and feels very light and airy amongst all of the cosmetics. It's nice when a location is able to add something more by having great customer service where they have people who know how to help with all kinds of make-up and complexions. You know going in a Sephora you're probably going to drop some money, but with customer service where you know you're getting the right stuff for yourself, you sure feel a lot less guilty about it! read more

The entire staff is helpful I am sure but I ran into a girl named Amy and she explained a lot abotu skin care to me. I was not really prepared with the cost of skin care in the real world. I guess I live in a fantasy world where I use Safeguard bar soap on my face and then a little of the unscented body lotion that comes in a big squeeze bottle from Whole Foods. Yeah, that really is the extent of my femininity in the mornings. Wash, rinse, lotion, go. But I do realize that I am getting older and I need to take care of my skin unless I want to look like an elephant or maybe just a wild boar. Anywhoo...Amy explained several skin care items to me and I ended up with a face wash ($20 vs my Safeguard at $3) and some "moisturizer" which is fancy for lotion since it has sunscreen in it ($28 ? vs gigantor jug of "body lotion" Whole Foods brand $5). Its all good though because its time to be kind to my face. Cool store but for a NOVICE it was overwhelming even with the kindness and going slow with me. Thank goodness for excellent staff. For women like me who have a terrible time matching their foundation shades, picking out the right blush, and finding the right product to stop breakouts the staff at Sephora are a godsend. I can always count on them to sit me down in one of their Hollywood style makeup chairs and spend countless minutes fussing over my face until they have picked exactly the foundation shades and makeup colors for me. In fact if it weren't for the team of dedicated makeup artists at Sephora I would never know what makeup colors were seasonably fashionable and would probably still be wearing the terrible colors that my mother's Avon lady told me were amazing on me when I was 15. Thank goodness that isn't the case! Sephora absolutely deserves five stars and a "Woohoo! As good as it gets" because they are certainly the best beauty supply store out there! read more

I get magazines in the mail...and in one of them I saw the IQ to let you know your correct skin color for foundation...I have also been watching about it on youtube videos..so I decided to get my IQ...so Monday morning I went in...the lady who helped me acted like she was in a hurry and wanted to get rid of me...she took the 3 diff pics...she got my results....I walked with her to the results computer....I asked her if she could E-mail me my results she told me NO....I asked for SOME samples...she only gave me 1....she wrote my IQ number on the sample bag....I dont know just was not a very fun experience for me.... read more

Not a bad place I must say, for it to be crammed into a tiny space, with SO much to look at. It's like your eyes tell your brain to go into overload... It's perfectly placed so you have to cut through it to get to the Apple Store - makes me wonder if there wasn't a marketing deal struck behind closed doors somewhere - lol. :p But on the day after black Friday I had to suffer the mall - yes suffer, and of course cut through Sephora and make it to Apple for some issues I was having on my phone. On my way out, my daughter and I just stopped briefly at some of their leftover black Friday stuff - and man were we jealous! But during that pause, probably a dozen people asked if we needed help. The first one showing us all the left over sale items - and man - did they knock down some prices! :o And just so we could say - oh yea we bought something from Sephora - we got a couple of things from their under $20 bin, and man - it was truly a steal - some fingernail polish, gold reusable brushes and some professional eyebrow tweezers - oh yea - and only spent 20 bucks! :D And everyone was so so so helpful! Wanting to purchase some Benefit items and not wanting to do it on line, I checked and their website showed Sephora at Oxmore Center carried their products. I knew what I wanted (kind of) and checked out the store. It was very clean and bright, I found the Benefit area quickly and also found the products I was interested in. One of the sales people approached and asked if she could help. I had a few questions regarding shades (eyebrow products) and what would be best for minimum makeup in the heat (bene tint). She helped me, was very friendly and knowledgeable. I chose the products and went to the register which I couldn't find at first. There should be a sign possibly from the ceiling indicating the cashier because if you have never been in the store the counter doesn't jump out at you. Anyway, the girl at the register checked me out, packaged my goodies and told me she was glad I came in today. This was a very nice store with friendly employees. read more

My faith in humanity has been restored! I was in town visiting colleges and my luggage was lost including all of my makeup, but the girls at Sephora saved the day and easily pulled up my purchase history to find out what I needed. They also gave me small samples of things I only needed for a day. The employees were extremely helpful and considerate. read more

I and in to look at Charlotte Tilbury products. I came in specifically without makeup. However I was dressed nice from work. There were a group of three employees who were all around the front of the store. Not one said hello. I stood by the makeup counter for several minutes. I was not greeted or asked if I needed help or a basket. Several others came in and we're greeted after me or helped. This went on for a span of 20 minutes without any employee interaction. Further, there was a blonde girl with a pony tail, one heavy set brunette, and a blonde girl with heavy purple eyeshadow who started talking bad about customers who shopped there earlier in the day. Many products were crooked in the displays and the female employees were not straightening the displays. However they were all putting makeup on their faces. I have been here a handful of times without makeup. Each time I have been ignored if I didn't have a full face of makeup on. This location has greatly decreased in their friendliness and customer service. I would not be shocked if one day corporate shut them down due to poor sales. read more
