I recently booked a makeup lesson at Sephora and it was such a great experience. When I first arrived, the store was pretty packed and my makeup artist was finishing up with another client. I didn't mind at all--I took that time to walk around, check out products, and browse the perfumes. The staff was super welcoming, and multiple associates offered help, which I really appreciated. There's so much to choose from that it can definitely feel overwhelming, especially if you don't know where to start. I signed up for a makeup lesson to learn how to properly apply my makeup, and honestly, it was some of the best money I've spent. My MUA was very informative, gave step-by-step instructions, and recommended products that worked specifically for my skin and look. She made the whole experience fun and easy to follow. After the session, I ended up purchasing all the products she used on me my total came to about $300, including the $75 lesson. While it's definitely an investment, I feel like it was worth it because now I can recreate the look on my own. I had a great time and would definitely recommend this class to any woman who's tired of spending hundreds on full-face makeup for events or special occasions. I've been to this location multiple times and it's never have a good experience. The store is small and cramped, almost always crowded, and the last two times has a really foul odor. None of the other Sephora locations smell bad even though they all tend to be crowded. Maybe it's the location but the clientele are very rude. At least the staff is usually helpful. I try to avoid this one and prefer the one in Manhasset or in Westbury or even the city. read more

Visited this location on 12/23/25. It was about 11:00 am, so the holiday rush was certainly picking up. I knew what I needed, so a salesperson approached me, and she wasn't sure the item was available; she had to ask if the item was available since she had not been there for 10 days. The item I wanted was not available, so I found a replacement. She rang up my purchase and proceeded to place it in a bag much smaller than the item, and gave it to me. I took it out of the bag and requested a bag that fits the item. The interaction distracted me from ensuring I had a receipt, and I walked out of the store and looked in the bag, and I had no receipt. I turned around and walked right back into the store, and said to the person I just walked past at the door, "I just brought this item, and there is no receipt in the bag; I need a receipt." She proceeded to say all sales are final, and I can't return the item anyway; only a supervisor can reprint a receipt. It was ok to provide sub-standard customer service and take my money, but now I had to wait for a supervior, I walked back to the person that just cashed my purchase and told her she didnt give me a receipt. Customer service is extremely important the appropraite response was, give me a moment I will get the supervisor not the disregard for the money I just spent as if I was a bother or being made to feel like I just walked out with the item and trying to return it. read more

It's awesome to have a Sephora store near by my house!!! Conveniently located within the shopping plaza in New Hyde Park next to New York and Company. Free parking is available but can be a hassle to find a spot during rush hours but overall it's fine. Not a huge store but seems to have a decent selection of products but sadly they didn't have my favorite hourglass veil translucent powder in its mini size. Like major Sephora locations this one doesn't carry all the products but probably has some of the major ones. Customer service is good as the girls working there were very attentive and delighted to help you. Beauty studio is located in the middle of the store to try on products or simply get glammed up!! The register line felt congested as the space is somewhat narrow probably during rush hours can be problematic. read more

Danielle the cashier should find a different kind of of job since she always looks miserable and is rude. A couple of times I've come to this Sephora, every other employee seems to be more welcoming except for Danielle who works the register. Every time I've come here she gives an attitude. The store was packed this afternoon. There was only one sales person on the floor. Her name is Lady. She literally had 4+ customers surrounding her for help. I was one of them. She explained that they were understaffed and others were on break. I felt bad for her but she met the challenge. and mapped out a plan to help each customer. She was extremely pleasant and professional. The check out line was too long of a wait and that's why I'm giving the experience 4 stars. read more

This Sephora branch in the Lake Success Mall in New Hyde Park has very poor customer service. I came on a weekday morning (specifically Tuesday), the store was almost empty, nobody offered to help. The sales persons were just looking at themselves in the mirror. I would not be surprised if this branch will close. Nowadays with the retail industry going down, you would think the staff would welcome you and offer assistance, but NO! I walked out and informed the sales person standing by the door about what happened, she just stared blankly and looked like she was spaced out. Not worth going to this branch, better off driving to Roosevelt Field or Bay Terrace which has better staff and more products. read more

Arlene was incredible, I'm not that knowledgeable about makeup and she helped me pick out a ton of products that complimented my skin complexion! Today I decided to patronize the Sephora closer to my house and that was the wrong choice for obvious reasons. And YES I'm pulling the BLACK card ! I went to this Sephora on a Friday afternoon to do an exchange. I knew exactly what I was in there for I just needed help with a particular shade. I was waiting for an associate to help me the First Lady said she was going to send someone over to me. Waited 5 mins. Nobody came. Saw another associate helping two other (white ) individuals. And they came in after me. I asked her to me help me she said once she puts somthing back. I said okay. Another 5 mins passed. They were not busy, so I was just confused as to why I have to wait so long for help. I went to the cashier and complained about how I've been in This store for 10 mins and nobody even offered to help me, I had to ask for help. It really sucks when you go into an establishment and 1 nobody wants to help you but 2 , you look around and all the associates are happy to help a white costumer. I will never go back in there again. And the cherry on the cake is, once I did get to do my exchange the cashier barely said a word to me. I was purely disgusted. read more

I went to this location to return something that was purchased through a rewards point gift card. I was informed by one of the managers that I would not be able to return the item because it was done through the points system. I was adamant about the return because I was allergic to the item and my skin broke out in a rash. I asked the manager to call customer service to try and get either my points or a gift card for the item. The manager called and customer service was basically USELESS. Then Natalia, the store director, came over and worked magic and was able to process an exchange. She exemplifies EXCELLENT customer service and went above and beyond to assist. If I could give zero stars I would.No matter what time of day or year you visit this location the workers are in bad moods. Most UNfriendly workers. They can not even muster up a thank you or you too when you are pleasant and wish them a nice day. My niece warned me this was not the one to shop at and sadly every time I go in I regret it . Get jobs where you do not have to interact with people if you do not want people in the store expecting you to work .Biggest grinch of all there to unwelcome you to the store in a holiday hat . Tried to make an in store return for my online purchase, specifically looked up the most recent Sephora return policy online as well to make sure I wasn't wasting anyone's time, but the cashier gave excuses that did not match up to the company's written policy. She told me to go to Roosevelt Field Mall to return the item instead because she wasn't accepting it. Her policy was "the store isn't accepting anything after 30 days of store opening and items purchased during Covid." First of all, Covid is still happening so does that mean you're never accepting returns for the next year? Secondly, the online policy says returns are allowed up to 60 days. Fortunately, the manager was able to process the refund for that order without a problem. For another order that I tried to return, the cashier said she couldn't find my credit card information and she kept pushing that I used Paypal to pay when I even showed my order information saying I used my credit card. She said that the manager can override it. When the manager tried, she said that she can't do anything and I have to return the items through mail instead. If i wanted to mail my return, I wouldn't have wasted my time going inside the store. The cashier also chose specifically to not wipe down the check out area for me since I saw that she wiped it down for all customers while I was waiting for the manager to help "override" the process. Overall, this location needs to go. Even they know to suggest Roosevelt Field Mall instead because they can't handle simple transactions. I have never experienced such incompetence at Sephora before. It seems like they just hire anyone to work in this store and have rock bottom standards. Disgusting. The cashier was at the register on 7/22/2020 around 2:20 PM. read more

I felt like the cashier (I think she was the manager) tried to avoid helping me and kept on calling other the girls from the floor to help me because she didn't want to. She was giving out samples to other customers and when I asked the sales associate that was helping me if I can have some samples she said that there are no samples at this time and she gave me an attitude. I told her the other associate was giving out samples. I made sure I got mine. Will never shop here again, people working there are not friendly and uneducated about the store products. read more

This is my local Sephora & I've been here about 3 times for perfume and all times I experienced great customer service. Each time, I was quickly asked if I needed help, allowed to smell whatever I wanted and was given amazing recommendations. I always leave with great scents and a longer wishlist! I made an appointment at this location for eye makeup. I needed it for a wedding and I was coming straight from the church which ran a little bit late so I wasn't able to call them. I arrived prior to the end of my appointment so I still had about 15 minutes left in my 30 minute appointment. They told me that it had already been canceled very rudely and gave me attitude without any phone call to check in on me. They said that they could not squeeze me in because they already took someone else during MY appointment time. I asked if they can take me at the next appointment since I knew there was an open one 30 minutes later. They offered it to me so I decided I would take it and then not even five minutes later they canceled on me saying that they couldn't take me anymore even though the Sephora app still had an opening for 5 PM. They were not accommodating at all and still charged me a "no show fee". They need to be more clear on their late policy. My 13 yr old daughter who is a Beauty Insider, purchased a Tarte gift set for Christmas from the Sephora in New Hyde Park to be delivered because the store did not have it in stock. It was delivered on December 23. my daughter did not use it until the middle of January because she wanted to finish her old product. The first night she used it, her face broke out in a rash and red spots. We went to the New Hyde Park Sephora where she purchased it and they said they can not return it, we would have to call the customer service number. We called the customer service number & was told we can return it in store, so we went to the Sephora store in Roosevelt Field Mall 2 weeks later where we were told they can not return it in store because it was purchased as a Christmas gift set & they no longer have it. Now we called customer service again while I am home & we are being told that their policy has changed last year and it is over 60 days (65 Days to be exact) so they can not return it!! If this store put a little time into training their staff we would not be having this problem..... There are so many complaints about Sephora that's why so many people are shopping at Ulta. They have much better deals and they care about the customers!! read more
