My fiancée and I stopped by here because she wanted to look for a lipstick that her makeup person told her to use and other makeup stuff. We were greeted when we walked in and someone came directly to us when my fiancée was looking at lipsticks. She was very helpful trying to find the lipstick my fiancée wanted and told is which store had it because they didn't have anymore. While my fiancée was looking at makeup stuff, I went to the cologne area and they had some nice selection. They also have a worker destinated to work that area too so if you have any questions, someone is there to help. read more

This might be the busiest Sephora I've ever been to. It's consistently busy, but mostly on the weekends and evenings. Customer service is good. They help me over the phone perfectly and also in person. There is a slight ghetto je ne sais pas about this particular location. It's pretty well stocked and all transactions are made seamlessly. Why it's not a five star review is because sometimes it is a little disheveled inside and I just don't see anyone rushing to clean up and tidy.. if they had that work mentality it wouldn't get so disheveled. That kind of a skill is helpful in all areas of life though just being proactive and fixing things as fast as possible. When I say disheveled.. trash overflowing, missing testers, empty testers, no makeup remover solution, no tissues, overall dirty feel, trash everywhere, food and beverages everywhere... I realize that it's not the employees fault as to who caused this disaster but if they know this happens frequently then Sephora needs to have the employees pay extra attention to tidiness and cleaning more frequently. At some point it feels like you're walking into a theme park with all the food and drink everywhere. Pro tips: avoid going on the weekends and late afternoons/ evenings. If going on the weekend it'd be a good idea to go right when they open to avoid the crowd / see the store at its freshest. Consider yourself warned!! read more

It says "JcPenny" on it BUT both get 5 stars. The main Sephora , I adore each and every artist and staff there. I'm an ongoing customer and never have I ever encountered a negative visit. I've been coming here for about 10 years. Whenever I need a color match, I'm put on the list and I wait for my turn & always get helped by them. No issue in samples to try before I buy! Sometimes items don't work for absolutely everyone; it's trial and error. Advise to gals getting matched because I see clients at times upset towards an artist many times... the lighting within the Sephora store can be deceiving, but that's not the artist fault; they do their best to match you to a product just after they do so make sure you totally go out the store (they have handheld mirrors so you can do so) to check the shade in natural lighting(give it a sec to dry down in the actual shade). If it looks off then you are one step closer to finding the perfect shade & they'll help you as long as you ask (: make it a fun experience not a stressful one! You'll come to find it to be your home away from home. Sample a couple shades to try at home before commiting to buy. Online order issues-- This is not to offend in anyway but if you make an online order & encounter an issue of delay: it is NOT THE FAULT OF THE STAFF IN-STORE. They're working from in-store not online. I can't stress enough how many times I've witnessed someone go and straight out go attack mode on an artist or cashier for their online order being delayed when it's out of their control; call Sephora's customer service, don't embarrass yourself by making a scene & it then causes the lines to stop causing other customers to wait for the issue to clear. Return/exchanges can feel uncomfortable because you feel like you failed in choosing a product but don't worry! They're so understanding and honor the return but make sure you have your receipt & or that it was on your beauty insider. If you don't have it in the original packaging, they still accept it. Even if you want to return an online order, they do help with that too (I've done it!). Just HAVE FUN!(: they remember you, they welcome you back & I absolutely love those girls. Okay, so I know 12 days before Christmas is probably NOT the best time to go to the mall, but I NEEDED too - I had a fabulous coupon for Sephora (spend $50 save $15) and I had recently lost the tube of one of my new favorite lipsticks (Buxom "two timer") so I HAD to go. Also, for some reason the Sephora website wasn't accepting my coupon code, but it did show me that the Buxom was in stock at this location, This location was clean, a bit small, but well organized. I quickly found the Buxom lipstick I wanted (as well as added to my collection of Kat Von D lipsticks with "Thin Lizzy"). I picked up some wonderful smelling body butter too. The line (again, because it's so close to the holidays) was crazy - at least 40 people deep and beginning to snake around the store. Thankfully one of the sales girls was roving with a mobile pay center and was asking people if they were paying with card so that she could help them. Of course the first person she asked in the super long, humongous, gigantic line was ME :D. If that's not service I don't know what is! Love this Sephora location, lots of foot traffic but... The girls are ALWAYS helpful, knowledgeable and polite. I went in yesterday and was able to get two samples of product. I got fresh sugar face scrub and smash box photo finish primer, since I have super sensitive skin I'm glad i can try the product at home and then purchase full size if it's suitable for my skin. Like most girls, I love make-up. Never leave home without it. You can spend over an hour in this store looking at their wide selection. I like how they have the points/rewards system and how you get free stuff on your birthday and with points. Most of their make-up is the higher end/expensive stuff, so I don't buy a whole lot from them. I refuse to pay $40 for bb cream. That's just insane. I DID pay $40 for tweezers. Many would say THAT'S insane. I would say that's my biggest splurge on a beauty related item EVER. They work really well though. Another plus is that you can try on/sample almost any of their make-up. It's always great to "try before you buy". read more

I would love to leave this lovely review for Sephora NORTHRIDGE(specifically). Walking in I notice there was 5 employees standing and having a conversation about some stuff that wasn't work related. No one was greeted including me as walking in. I'm over walking around trying to find a specific brand and so i decide to ask the group of 5 workers. As I walk up to one of the workers needing help they said they will send help. Geez I didn't know asking for help was that hard that none of you 5 couldn't help so you had to ask for back or you couldn't point to where it was.. Lazy a** 10 mins later. Surprise no one came to help so I decided whatever I'll get the item I needed at macys and get what I had in my hand here. Going up the register that lady (forgot her name) was so nice in the beginning greeted me happy birthday and when I asked for a bigger bag because the a**hole at forever21 didn't give me one she had the nerve to say "We only give out bigger bags if it's necessary" well EXCUSE me I didn't know you guys keep inventory count on bags and why did it even matter? Do you not give bags to customers that buy stuff? You see me walking around with a package and I don't see whats wrong giving me a big bag? Its not like I didn't buy anything and ask for a bag? She went from nice to b****. I always hated this Sephora but I need to go only because I needed to pickup my package and buy something from here since it was along the way. Every time I come here I never get greeted. The selection is good. The problem with this location is the customer service aspect. It always takes about 10 minutes to track down an employee to help. When I'm FINALLY able to find an employee and ask them my question, they're really busy and hurry the process or pass me off to another employee. This is not for the entire store, this is for the sales person with short bright green hair. 1. I love this store. And if I want to try a new look or color I will come and ask questions 2. If there's a product I can buy here to help me achieve this look I will get it. 3. I would appreciate it if I asked a questions or questions I would not be treated or talked to like some kind of kid or person who should know the answer to my own question. I've experienced better. I didn't find the staff here all that knowledgable or friendly. Although they had plenty of staff there when I arrived, I found myself having to hunt them down to ask questions. One lady looked me dead in my eyes as I was looking around for help, waving my hands. She was not helping anyone at the time, so I just expected that she would walk over to the display I was standing in front of and offer assistance. No. She just stood there. So I asked if she could come over and explain the product and she seemed less than eager to make a move. Once there she did seem familiar with the product and put it one me, but wasn't really interested in holding conversation about the product. Now, I know this next comment is going to come out really wrong, but i'm gonna say it any way. I think its a bad look if an employee at a make up store has the most horrendous looking makeup application that anyone has ever seen. So disappointed in their lack of customer service. I went in today to get color matched for a new foundation that I was considering purchasing. Sephora isn't cheap so I was prepared to spend a pretty penny. I walked in, browsed and tried to find an associate to help me for 10 minutes.The associates that would pass by me would walk so fast almost like avoiding to be waived down for help. I walked up to a male associate and asked for some assistance and his reply was that he was busy but would find someone else. So there I stood for 5 minutes in the same spot waiting and couldn't help but notice that he and another associates were too busy chit chatting by the front entrance. So much for finding someone else to help. Over the years I've noticed a lot of the employees here have a very self absorbed attitude and are selective on the customers they choose to help. I spent almost 20 minutes just waiting for assistance, never spending another minute in this Sephora! The store itself is really great and I love shopping at sephora, but the service at this particular sephora is really bad. I've had three separate experiences at this one and two out of three of those times were bad. The first time was with a girl with short blue hair. Apparently she dyes her hair, but when she was helping me she had a broken leg. She was incredibly rude and curt and did not listen to what I wanted at all. The second time around I was helped by someone who was actually good and helpful, so I thought it was just that one bad experience. However, on my third and most recent visit my mother and I were followed around the entire store. I felt incredibly uncomfortable and they treated us like we were going to steal or something. Incredibly rude service and no help at all. If you can make it to the topanga mall sephora, go there. The service is significantly better there. read more

I almost never ask for help unless i have to, but I was approached by one of the ladies. I didn't get her name but she had curly hair and flawless skin with a medium to dark complexion. She greeted me with a smile and took me to the product I wanted to try, which was the Fenty foundation. Then I asked for a color match and Melody was called over to assist me. I love Sephora like Tyrone from The Dave Chappelle Show loves peanut butter and crack sandwiches: I JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH. I have an addiction, sir. This Sephora is great because it's closer to my house than the Topanga one so I don't have to drive 30 minutes to go shop with a bunch of underprivileged teenagers and botoxed housewives. However, it seems that at this Sephora, as well as the one in Topanga, they just do not greet you. I was in the store for 10 minutes before I even saw a sales associate and she did the "I see you but I'm going to ignore you" which is a huge no-no in customer service - especially retail. I was still debating over a skin care package when finally, Ruth, answered my prayers and decided to help me out with everything! I needed foundation and I'm very hard to color match, Ruth did a great job and was so knowledgeable - I was talking to her in depth about make up and skincare. If I come back to this store, I definitely want to find her again. The layout to this Sephora is so nice - it's so big and you don't feel like you're in the Northridge Mall which is always a great feeling. Their customer service is not so great but this is retail and I am just learning to expect subpar service from almost any retail store at this point, despite that it should never be this way. I just want to comment on the customer service at this location. I received a document in the mail last week for my birthday gift. (31 December 2017). I go to your store to redeem my gift. I am told that your system sees me getting a gift 17 January 2017. So I am tolded no gift for me. What is that all about? Why was I sent this in the first place?! I think the clerk could have asked the GM on duty to make this happen out of good faith and keeping customer happy. I too work in retail and making exceptions for small matters is part of the job. I needed help finding a product. The store is terribly understaffed considering how much traffic they receive, which I get. However, the only person in the skin care section blatantly ignored me as he helped someone else, and then once he was done merely asked, "you got it, right?".
