Jake was so enjoyable that I just had to buy something. I got a solid perfume which is an interesting product I'm excited to use. Shout out to Jake for being one of the most pleasant workers I've ever interacted with. I honestly thought I wouldn't get interacted with at all because I came very close before they closed but was wrong. Lush is a fun store and always has interesting products. The previous tech hadn't prepped my nails properly--there were bumps and uneven spots all over the dip manicure, and it just looked messy. I came in stressed (especially with my birthday coming up), but the tech at Soho immediately noticed what went wrong and walked me through how she'd fix it. She was so knowledgeable and kind, and really took her time to make sure everything was flawless. I got chrome, and she explained how their method helps it last longer--she even took extra steps with the top coat to make sure it would hold up. My nails turned out gorgeous, smooth, and birthday-ready. I was so impressed with the quality and care. Highly recommend Soho Nails! Update: Unfortunately, my second visit was the complete opposite. The dip was applied so thick I could barely function with my nails, and leftover powder was caked underneath. I was cut several times with the sanding tool, the nails weren't smooth, and there were visible ridges. The service dragged on for over an hour and a half, and the end result looked worse than when I walked in. I decided to give them another chance and specifically booked with the tech who had done such a great job the first time. When I arrived, she was already working on someone else and it turned out I'd been double booked. She didn't acknowledge me or apologize, which was frustrating. Another tech stepped in and did her best--she did a good job on the dip itself--but she was rushed and handed me off to someone else for the top coat, which ended up streaky and uneven. I even had to go back inside to get one nail fixed, but several others still had flaws. After two such drastically different experiences, I won't be back. I usually don't even make appointments, and the one time I did, it felt like my business wasn't valued at all. The vibe is mostly relaxing. They have calming music playing. Deplorable…read more Yesterday (12/24/18) I went in for my scheduled manicure. The owner (who sits directly at the entrance) chose not to acknowledge my presence with a standard greeting; clearly a selective behavior as I've noticed he greets others with excitement. I carry on to get my service with my usual tech. Approximately 30 minutes after leaving the nail salon I noticed a chip & advised my tech via text with a photo. She chose not to acknowledge. Backtrack to my visit (12/12/18): Jennifer stepped up to save the day and I appreciate it. There was an apparent mix up with my usual tech (she was out & was asked to return in a couple of hours and when I did so I was met with agitation, rudeness and unprofessionalism by the owner). Upon my return (2 hours) my tech was still not there. The owner accused me of "storming out" without indicating my return. Let me state I am a full grown adult who does not "storm out" of any place. To be accused of such juvenile was insulting. Anyway, my tech still was not there. At this point I'd rearranged my day dependent on the advisement to return. We went back & forth for a few moments (totally unprofessional) with no solutions or apologies being offered. Finally Jennifer stepped in by politely inviting me to her area so she could take care of me. Indeed she did. My nails turned out absolutely beautiful & it only took 30 minutes for her to perfect my powder dip manicure. Her pleasant, professional work kept me from going elsewhere after being a LOYAL Zen Nail client for over 3 years. While being serviced my usual tech walked in; not acknowledging me with a greeting or even an apology. Upon checkout Jennifer apologized for the mix up, offered to schedule my next appointment with my usual tech and extended wishes of a good day. I'll end with this note: Good product does not outweigh bad customer service. A non-problematic, paying individual should be valued & appreciated. ALL CLIENTS SHOULD BE TREATED EQUAL. Owners/managers have a responsibility to treat clients with respect as their behavior will be mimicked by their staff. Poor customer service = a poorly run business.
