My nail tech just relocated here and since she is amazing, I had to go too. Went here for the 1st time on Friday. Apparently this place is under new ownership so it was nice bc I got 20% off. Mimi is my go to nail tech as she has amazing artistic skill and did a great job with my nails as usual! The place is large with ample parking. The seating inside looks new. Very clean and modern looking on the inside! Location is right in the valley so it's surrounded by lots of stuff. My nails turned out great as usual as Mimi always does a great job! The first 2 times I went I was very pleased and I got the most compliments on the color I chose! The last 2 times I went two nails I had on my right hand cracked and broke off before I had them one full week. Team Sola, some advice: --No need to upsell customers x2 when they've already told you what they want. --Show pricing list in full view. If "old" prices on website don't match latest, thats on you. Customers will reject you due to false advertising: it looks unprofessional. --Your regular manicures need some work. Our nails look decent but the massage was quick and at $20, you should be more responsive/attentive - eg, provide a receipt when asked, help w handling our things when nails are wet, etc. If you can get these basic tenets right, you have a shot, let us know and we'll come back. Sola Nails does terrible work and has even worse customer service. My first time in I had Karen (the owner) and she was great. For my second visit I made an 11:30 appointment with Karen. I arrived at 11:20 and told two different workers that I had an 11:30 appointment with Karen. One of them started soaking my dip. FORTY minutes later I was still sitting there waiting. Finally, someone else, Judy (not Karen), told me she could take me, so I went with it because I was on my lunch hour and needed to hurry up. Apparently, appointments don't matter at this place. As Judy was doing my nails, I could tell she was rushing as the place was very busy. She probably finished my entire manicure in half the time that Karen did. At one point I looked at them and noticed the polish was very far away from the cuticle and looked sloppy. I asked her to get closer and she told me she couldn't and that they were fine. I pointed out multiple nails that looked grown out and shed just kept telling me they were fine. When she was done my hands were stained orange. She told me to just wash them and sent me home. I did not get lotion or a hand massage. When I got back to work and looked at my nails in the sunlight, I realized what a disaster they were. Nail polish all over my fingers and cuticles, looked like a four-year-old painted them. They also look at least a week grown out. One of them is incredibly thick and is missing color on the side. The accent glitter nails only have one layer of glitter on them and look shear. Friends said "why did they leave them such a mess" and "why do they start so far down on your nail". I'm putting photos on this review, check them out. You'll be shocked as well. I called the salon and said I was disappointed with my nails and asked if I could come back in to get them fixed. I spoke to Judy and she was shockingly rude to me. She told me that she did nothing wrong, they were fine, and that I would have to pay to get them redone. When I argued with her I was told someone would call me back later and Judy tried to hang up on me. I kept asking questions, asked who the owner was, asked if I could come back at 5 to see Karen, and Judy continued to brush me off and try to hang up on me. She told me Karen would call me, but Karen never did. I called back a few hours later and was able to speak to Karen. I explained the situation and how she had done such a lovely job when she did my nails and that this time was such a disappointment and they looked terrible, and I couldn't justify paying $50 for this. She told me she could not redo my nails for free. She told me she could not give me a refund. I offered to come back up there to show her how terrible they looked, and she told me not to bother. I asked if I could at least get my tip refunded since these don't deserve a tip and she said no. She told me I should have shown them to her when I was in the salon but since I left there was nothing she could do. She told me going forward I need to schedule an appointment with her. I reiterated multiple times that I DID schedule an appointment with her but that she was running forty minutes behind and I didn't have time to wait. Do not waste your time at Sola Nails. The product is hit or miss, and when it's a miss nobody cares about customer service or keeping your business and you will be treated like garbage and hung up on. There are plenty of other nail salons with hard-working people who take pride in their work and will make sure you are satisfied. read more

TERRIBLE experience. From the moment we walked in, we were told to use gel, without explanation that it was an additional $20 charge. We were guided to chairs for pedicures where Water was dripping on us from ceiling on our heads and making my shoes wet. We mentioned it and they just ignored it, except to put a small towel down on arm of chair. Went to pay. Owner grabbed my credit card to charge before explaining the $20 extra charge. The atmosphere is terrible. TVS playing loudly. We left and thought about the additional charge, completely taken off guard and walked back. Owner didn't care. I was taking my sister here on a rare visit, for a break she desperately needed. Nothing about this was relaxing. It's a factory. I NEVER write reviews but businesses this business deserve a bad review. Does a coat of gel polish cost this business $20? My sister couldn't find her shoes as she and rushed out. It was awkward. Having been to many nail salons that are decent, this was by far the worst. It was $50 each. $100 in total. Crazy. WORST experience at a nail salon. Can not believe how people go here. Beware- I have an appointment at 10 AM didn't get seen until 1040am. This was my 1st time at this salon. They mentioned that it was fully renovated. It was very nice and clean inside. All I was having done was an acrylic fill. Cindy told me she had to remove the old acrylic because it was old. I did not have new tips put on I used my existing finger nails. All she did was put new acrylic on my existing fingernails, painted my nails and put some Psychedelic powder on top to make them shine gave me my bill of $80. Are you freaking kidding me we are not in Beverly Hills, we are in Chesterfield. She did not tell me this was going to be this much for an acrylic fill. I feel like I was fraudulently taking advantage of and this is absurd and pathetic. They rip there customers off! Looked for a nail salon within my area since my normal nail salon isn't open on Sundays and my tech is out of town. This is what I get for waiting till last minute. In addition, to it being Memorial Day weekend. I found Sola Nails on Yelp with GREAT reviews. I'm always hesitant about new places and especially with my nails. Per the reviews I took a chance and requested for Judy or Karen for my nails. I got in the same day! On a weekend and holiday! Yes, it was a little crowded which I expected. They'll get you in ASAP. The salon is very nice and welcoming. Massage chairs are comfy. Lots of colors to choose from for gel and dipped. I had the Sola Spa Pedicure with gel toenails ($50) by Vee and dipped ombré nails ($50) by Judy. Which she took off my acrylic overlay and advised to not get anymore. Only because acrylic is not good for your nails. I was in and out within and hour and a half. Judy is so nice! I'll definitely be returning! They do have a reward system which Judy gave me a card to use for future services. Yes, it's a little bit pricier than normal but it's well worth it. read more

I went in to just see what would happen... the boss looked at my nails fixed one nail with the wrong color (b/c apparently you are supposed to remember your color) and then proceeded to tell me that GEL chips after a few days it doesn't last and that she told me to do the dip! LOL! She didn't know me from Adam AND if she truly remembered I went in wanting just plain nail polish and her reply was, "you want Gel b/c it drys and lasts longer." So $90 + $20 tip down the drain! I stopped in for my first time today, this is a beautiful new and extremely clean salon. The entire staff is so friendly and welcoming. I was immediately greeted and assisted, shown their incredible selection of dip powder, and taken care of right away-- all without ever feeling rushed. They fixed the horrible mess I had from another salon, where they had put a layer of acrylic down under my gel manicure. first visit to this nail salon and it started out very good for a mani-pedi. wrapped my gel hands and toes and pedicure proceeded nicely. However, once the pedi was complete the nail tech said "I have an appointment- someone else will do you manicure." ok, I can understand - however people came and were serviced and I still sat in pedi chair with foil on my fingertips- and sat - and sat - at LEAST - 30 minutes. Hands down worst experience I've ever had getting my nails done. I normally go to soho nails (highly recommend- they're amazing) but the nail tech I usually go to was booked and I had an event i needed to go to so I decided to come here. I walked in and nobody even acknowledged me. The owner finally looked at me & said "sit down" & that's when I asked how long the wait would be. She said "15 min" so I sat down and waited. 30 min go by... then 45.. then I said "do you know how much longer? I thought it was 15 min wait.." and she said "5 min" so I sat back down. 1 hour and 15 min I had waited. I show her a pic of what I was wanting and she shook her head and said "no. No time for designs" I finally stood up for myself and said "I didn't wait here for over an hour for you to tell me you don't have time" (it was also the most basic design that would take 5 min tops) so she said "fine." And I wish I had a photo bc it was the worst powder dip manicure I have ever had. She skipped pretty much every step. She was rude, snappy, and was not personable what so ever. I've been here a couple times, let me give you the good and the bad. The good: They are great at working you in and being accommodating even near closing and when you don't have an appointment. They did a very good job on a complicated powder nail on a family member I had with me, which lasted for weeks and she received many compliments. The bad: It seems the pricing they quote is not what is listed on their brochures and is dependent on their availability and what they think you may be willing to pay. I was quoted significantly more for a job when I went near closing and I was in a pinch and needed it done, as opposed to different pricing a on other occasions. They don't seem to remember me or that I know that this pricing structure isn't consistent. However, sometimes you are willing to just pay more to get the thing done rather than bickering about price or finding another place. Once my nails looked quite good, the other time they there were imperfections on the nails that affected their look and longevity. Also, some of the techs seem unprofessional--as on one occasion I had to hear about one tech's very detailed ordeal with the Division of Family Services. My heart went out to her and you could tell she was sincere and sweet, but when you go to a salon you want to escape life's problems and have a bit of a relaxing reprieve, not have someone else's problems taking center stage. read more

ive been going to sola for about 3 years now and every single time theyre great. friendly workers, clean, very cautious since the pandemic. theres a lady who works there who is the reason i keep coming back, (anyone who wants any kind of cool design or fun art work call and make an apt with her) and her name is Lucy. i usually dont make appointments because ill just go whenever i feel like going but the past 2 times ive made an appointment and gotten her. she talks to you like you guys are friends, makes you feel comfortable, and does a great job on your nails. i came in on wednesday to get a full set of ombrè dip powder (the ombrè being Lucy's idea) and broke one the next day at work. came in the following day and got it all taken care of. im picky about my nails but this place is great. theyre all so skilled, you will not go wrong making an appointment. their hard work is appreciated! read more
