I am a lover of all things local and small business so I've been visiting various coffee spots. Sepia is right on the blvd with street parking out front. The staff and owner were so welcoming upon entering. Pricing is listed on a board that is visible for all. They offer bagged coffee that is sourced with a great story (check the website). You can also find books, tools of the trade, and books. I visited during a cake walk that had local bakers in Sepia Coffee selling cake. The space gives family vibes and the taste is so amazing. Like the best espresso I've had in a decade! It packs a powerful flavor that stands out in a hot or iced latte, both of which I've had. I have not ventured into a straight espresso shot or cortado as of yet. It's worth a visit or purchase some online for shipping.

Best coffee in the D. Experts in coffee, cordiality, and chill. Martell is a coffee Guru, a shaman in modern wear, healing and reconnecting our community with the art and culture of coffee. What keeps me coming back to Sepia is the brilliance and hospitality of Head Roaster Martell Mason. And, the sophisticated and bold flavors chosen for the roasting collection. Their Dalia roast is the best cup of coffee i have ever had in my entire life. "It's just coffee; hot bean water..." a naive version of myself thought before my palate was delighted by the depth and richness of that very first cup. Time and time again i return to reassess, "was it really, that good?" And the answer is always YES. 'Twas like comprehending and resonating with the lyrics to a love song for the first time; or, that grateful feeling of warmth from the Sun after a long grey winter. The Sepia project is a privilege to have in this city. I've Always been greeted with warmth from the staff and a comfortable environment to stay and work, catch up with a friend, or simply just to sit, sip, enjoy and rejoy my cup of Black magic we call coffee.

5/5 because they truly never disappoint when it comes to customer service always social and friendly . They use oak milk as a base which I truly love for the culture and health initiative. As a vegan I had to try the cranberry muffin which was delectable. Overall the best place to go work the aura and vibes are one of a kind

    Cool merchandise.

We were there for a late lunch and we had to wait maybe 20 minutes for a table. I got the passion fruit drink which was good. We also got the chips with the dipping sauce. That was a lovely way to start the meal. I love plantains so I was very excited to see it was part of most of the dishes. I got the kumuhama chicken. It comes with your choice of rice, beans, plantains and corn salad. It is flavorful without being spicy. I tried my friends' dishes and they were good too. The serving size is good and I think most people have enough to take some leftover home. We tried 2 of the desserts. The Tamu is very interesting and not too sweet if you aren't into overly sweet treat. The coco mango is more traditional "parfait " but still lovely. If I lived around, I would definitely hang there a bunch!

The food was delicious overall. The Intore was definitely the highlight--flavorful, well-seasoned, and with just the right amount of spice. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. My only disappointment was the value of some of the sides. The beans were good, but $7 felt steep for a portion that was around half a cup. The shokola was also quite small for $9. That said, I would absolutely recommend Baobab. I plan to go back and next time I'll stick with the main courses.

From their cakes and cookies, to their parfaits and macaroons, everything just hits. On a most recent visit, I tried their biscoff parfait and it was a show stopper. It was hard for me to enjoy my Matilda chocolate cake (though I managed) knowing that I had more biscoff parfait to eat. They do coffee and other assorted beverages as well, but those are just support for the real stars of the show here, their desserts. I cannot say one bad thing I have had here (though a friend of mine says their cinnamon rolls were underwhelming). OVERALL - a great ending to an evening, or a destination unto itself. Get some, now! The cake looked great and had the graham (I might have imagined it), marshmallow, and chocolate flavor elements in each bite, but it ran a bit dry and sweeter than I prefer. I'm in the "less sugar is more" minority, so most people might be fine with it. I guess I should have expected it given the name. The iced matcha latte used decent matcha and tasted light and pleasant, no grit. Inside, it is all pastels and cake themed accents, with the general vibe of "yeah, there are macarons here." The real plus is being near Little Caesars Arena in the newer development area, which makes it convenient for grabbing a treat and a drink while downtown.

It is in front of a building that has a lot of other storefronts...but if you park anywhere on that block of Michigan Ave you will be within walking distance. They thrive in coffee and pastries but they do have a really good egg sandwich as well. They are super nice and friendly and will walk your food to your table. It's not a large shop so it may be crowded depending on what time you go. There is a countertop that seats 4, a long table ther seats about 10, and a few 2 top tables. If you have a large group this may not be for you. Alba egg sandie - this was an excellent sandwich. I wish it had sausage or bacon on it but regardless it's great. It's light and fluffy as well as airy and savory. It comes with the aioli/chive and this is what sets it off. But the egg is thick and the perfect size to boot.
