This is my favorite go to place in the valley. If I haven't had a Smashburger in a couple days, I'm very sad. I haven't tried most of their things, but I understand everything is delicious. Well, this place has the best donuts I've ever had in my life! The maple frosted donut just melts in your mouth, it's so fantastic especially fresh in the morning. We went for breakfast and then came back for lunch and I had a really good, light but filling turkey provolone sandwich on their spectacular sourdough bread. Nice new bakery in town, took the place of the old Italian restaurant that closed recently. Their sign out front says limited menu, however we found the selection to be reasonable considering the population of the town. Tried their seasonal scone and grabbed a loaf of sourdough, both were excellent. Look forward to trying it again when we are back in town. read more

This place is legit! So happy to see them open (it's been a year since I was in Kernville). I tried the brioche maple donut... AMAZING. I also tried the chicken sausage biscuit, which was also amazing. I'm picky about my biscuits and holy cow their biscuits are amazing. Despite having numerous customers in line, the staff was calm, friendly, and efficient. This is the sort of place that becomes a local favorite and won't disappoint someone visiting from out of town. My boyfriend and I stopped at this bakery while we were on a day trip and I'm so glad we did! We got a pain au chocolate(chocolate croissant) and a loaf of jalapeño cheddar sourdough. The croissant was delectable! Super buttery and flaky and the chocolate inside was plentiful. Not to mention it was gorgeous. Now let me tell you! The jalapeño cheddar was fucking amazing. We live about 4 hours away so I was excited to eat this at home. We had toast with butter, toast with butter and jam, and several types of sandwiches. I was so sad when we finished it. I wish I would e taken photos because everything was gorgeous. If I ever come back to Kernville I'll buy a few loaves and freeze them. The service was also quite friendly. Wow! I ate here as a child when it was a different restaurant and even worked here before when it was another. The remodel and cleanup is AMAZING! The bakery is so bright and warm and clean! The staff was super awesome, between the young gentlemen at the counter to the runners and workers in the kitchen- everyone was friendly and knowledgeable! And best of all, the food! My partner and I had croissant sandwiches and they were huge, fluffy, crispy buttery croissants! I've had their giant cinnamon rolls as well and can't wait to try more! We also both had frappuccinos and they were perfect. I definitely prefer to eat there, though, rather than to go, as the outside patio and clean place inside are both warm, gorgeous places to eat delicious food. 10/10!!!!! read more

Cute place but we had no idea from the look of it how amazing the food would be. We came for breakfast our first day in town just by luck and the food was absolutely incredible. At first bite we know we wouldn't forget it! We all got different dishes and tried each others, everything was delicious. Then we came back the next day for lunch and it was equally incredible. I thought my review went through Friday when we were here but I guess it didn't. I'm so glad though because now I can add on now that it's been a few days! I went here with friends for the first time the other day and OH MY! SUCH good food! I had the biscuits and gravy, him the burger and her the sourdough sandwich. None of them disappointed. I got several pasteries (banana bread, a berry and jalapeno/cheese danish, choc chip cookie, 2 donuts) to go and even today (Mon- Labor Day), the banana bread is still quite fresh and I had one donut left (we ate all the rest!) so I put the donut in a small oven at 285 for 5 minutes and it was fresh again. YUM! Loved the staff and wish I could remember everyone's name but here goes what I can- Jacob (jingle heimer schmidt), Stephanie (chef/owner), Mandi, Stacy and more. The pasteries are huge!
