What a great find. Initially I was worried about the distance from the park to Kings Canyon National Park, but the drive was easy, the sites were great and the camp host Andrea was wonderful, even staying open a little later to make sure we made it in safely after a long day of travel. The kids loved the open spaces to explore and the tire swing. We were too busy visiting Kings Canyon to take advantage of the living room and library or the grilling area, but we noticed other campers were there and that the areas were clean and well kept. I'm sure other reviews mention this as well, but make sure and follow the driving directions in the confirmation email rather than what your mapping app says! Ours was very insistent that we took the "shorter" way in, which gets down to one lane in places. Not a problem for us due to our trailer size, but would be a tight fit for bigger RVs. Overall, great experience and we will gladly rerun. read more

We love staying a little off the beaten path when road-tripping to national parks, especially places where we can cook and spread out. Traveling with three kids and a dog, we also need space and at least two bathrooms, and this place delivered for first visit to Sequoia/Kings Canyon. This location is closest to the Kings Canyon entrance, and the drive is beautiful. If you're visiting in winter, just be prepared. After December, the highway into the park can close due to weather -- this happened to us for a couple of days - snowed before followed rain. The alternate route is possible but very long. We stayed four days and had flexibility, but definitely bring chains if you're visiting in winter. The property has RV spots and rental homes. We stayed in a three-bedroom house with 2 baths with 5 people (and a small dog) for 5 days/4 nights for New Year's and had plenty of space. The home was comfortable, with a full kitchen and included a gas BBQ, dishes, and cookware. A few small things would make it even better: more kitchen utensils and serving plates/bowls, plus extra towels. We were a family of five with a dog visiting during very rainy weather, and towels went fast. It would also be more convenient if the washer/dryer were in the unit instead of shared at the office/library. Important tip: bring all your food and drinks with you. There is no store or grocery nearby, and this is not a "pick it up down the road" situation. The closest grocery stores are in Woodlake or Visalia, about a 45-minute drive EACH WAY. Bee stopped in Visalia on the way in at Winco to buy food. The internet was surprisingly excellent -- fast and reliable. We also loved the wildlife around the property. We saw lots of animals, but especially enjoyed the friendly cats that stopped by and the silly quails wandering around. Overall, this is a peaceful, family- and dog-friendly place with a lot of character. If you're looking for a quiet home base near Kings Canyon and Sequoia and don't mind being remote, we'd definitely recommend it and would stay here again. read more

My wife and I stayed in a cabin here for 2 nights. It's a very interesting place with some crazy history. The cabin was okay. We had the smallest one, but it worked just fine. Could use some updates for sure. A/C struggled to keep up and the floor is uneven. The tv is old, small and pretty useless. Would not take much to replace with a tv smart tv that streams. We used my laptop instead. The WiFi was strong, as was the internet. Starlink for the win! Be warned, this is a place you come back to after your activities. There really is not much to do or places to eat. Bring food with you to prep and cook in the kitchen. That being said, we did explore the property for 1/2 a day and that was fun. Google the place and its history, then go check out the old airstrip and buildings. That was fun. The lake is more of a dirty pond, you can look at it, but that's it. No swimming or anything. You would not want to. I probably would not return, but I would recommend a first visit if you are up for an adventure. read more

My wife and I loved this place. Andrea was very accommodating. The wild life was fantastic! Wild turkeys, California quail, Arorn woodpeckers and Coyotes. The place has an interesting history. All the hook ups worked perfectly and the bathrooms were clean and functional. We were able to ride our e-bikes all around the campground which has a small runway (unused) and sits on something like 450 acres! Even riding highway 245 was no issue, as the road is lightly travel but SO curvy. You won't be disappointed spending time here! We loved our stay. read more

Things I love about this place: We stayed in the Guest Suite for 5 days and 5 nights. Clean, perfect for two people). 1. I appreciate that we were able to make Thanksgiving dinner. With a hot plate (stove top, convection oven, and microwave). 2. In fact we had all our meals cooked and baked in the small kitchenette. I brought some small tin baking pans (I was able to disposed after use.) I highly recommend buying and bringing up groceries and food you will cook, there aren't a lot of restaurants nearby. 3. Peaceful scenery. 4. We appreciated Joseph (manager) kindness and hospitality. 5. I love being away far from the city. 6. The stars at night. 7. About 35 minutes to King's Canyon entrance and an hour from Sequoia National park. 8. The drive there is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend this place! read more

I'm not sure how I found this place since it is such an off-the-beaten-path from things but that's what makes it great, too. We usually enter into Sequoia National Park via Three Rivers, but we wanted to try another area and I took the suggestion from someone on TikTok and was pleasantly surprised by the property. This is the most interesting (IMHO) and coolest fun fact: Synanon cult used to own this land. Google it. Very interesting. And looking around the property you can see where remnants from the past still lingers. BUT, it isn't the whole reason you should go. This is closest to the King's Canyon entrance into the park. And the drive to all of that is gorgeous from all the rains we've been having in California. The property hosts RVs and there are houses to rent. We rented a 3-bedroom home for 7-people and had no issues. Plenty of space inside. BBQ with gas provided. Dishes and cookware provided too. You have to bring all your food and stuff to eat or drink and there is NO STORE OR GROCERY to pick up anything you left behind ANYWHERE nearby. So don't plan on picking it up down the road. There is a bar with food nearby though but definitely not walking distance. Overall I highly recommend this property. Family friendly and dog friendly. read more

This RV site is a pretty place in a small town. Comes with full hookups and plenty of room to add a canopy, chairs, and a fire pit. Theres a nice fence to separate the sites so there's some privacy. Theres some things for the kids to do like a tire swing, soccer, and basketball. They also have laundry services and a library. The only thing that needs to be mentioned is that the road to get there can get very narrow and windy. I get motion sickness when I drive these roads. Other than that, beautiful place and lovely staff! read more

Came here over the weekend. We stayed at house#3. It was clean, spacious, cozy. Good for family. Very serene. We will definitely come back. The house have all the necessities. Bring grocery because its far from any grocery stores. Gas up. Theres no phone service, i dont mind. Wifi is a bit slow. But its okay im here to getaway from the city not to go online. I didnt have a chance to walk around the resort 2 days was not enough. There were pretty nice paintings all over the house. Based on other reviews i agree with the road on the way to the resort is very winding and narrow. It was scary to drive on at night it was completely dark, even with high beam. We came across an owl in the middle of the road on the way to the resort which was pretty cool, i thought it was a cat at first. The drive on the way home from the resort is breathtaking. read more

I stayed here with my wife's extended family over 6 days in July, 2017. We rented houses 1, 3, and four during this time. House 2 is very small and was not rented while we were there, so we had the place to ourselves. It was great (I really struggled between a four star and five star rating. The only reason I rated this place four stars is that the houses need a little TLC. This is true of the decks as opposed to the interior of the houses. The combination of price and proximity to King's Canyon/Sequoia would make me book again in a heartbeat. That said, the owner says he is planning to add more homes. There are five or six places that have been graded and sewer lines are already in. I would still have been impressed with the resort, but if there were additional units, we would not have had the place to ourselves. read more

Went for 6 days/5nights a few weeks back. What an amazing place! Pond was low, but that didn't stop us from enjoying water inside of the national parks. Our host was one of the most knowledgeable and friendly people I have met (and we traveled a lot last year!). Only drawback was driving the road with the 32' motorhome. The locals drive fast and are very impatient. Other than that, great pricing for full hookups and so much fun biking around for my kids. The tire swing was their favorite! This is a great place to set up your rv. The hookups are all well built, clean & reliable. There are 6' wood fences between each site. The sites are large. Overall the Park is very comfortable with plenty of space between neighbors. There is a great common space for small or larger groups to hang out. The roads to get to the Park are winding & narrow, so just be careful and think about taking rigs longer than 35'. The roads are doable, but you will have to manage a lot of turns. If you come from Fresno up the CA180 it is 10 miles south on CA245. From Visalia it is over 20 miles on CA245 north to get to the Park. I would select coming from Fresno. The Park is a great place for a larger group of RV'ers to gather and just spend your time at the Park visiting. You will need to bring what you need since the closest goods & fuel are 30 or more miles away. There are 2 different local bar dining places within 5 miles either north or south on CA245. Both are just cool places to enjoy a burger, fries & cold drinks. read more

Chris was absolutely amazing right from when we booked weeks ago to the time we checked out. He even offered to FaceTime in case we wanted to check out the place. We rolled up the windy road in the middle of the night and pulled in to the office well after closing time. We were able to call the office and Andrea came out immediately to welcome us to the resort! She was also able to provide the 50 to 30 amp adapter plug for our 30amp RV. She gave us great instructions on where to park and offered many tips about the area. We tried out the lake with a boat, walked all around near the old airplane hangar and some neighboring cows, hiked up to the water tower, saw wild turkeys, turkey vultures and found a few of the elusive wild cats roaming the property. The location was a great spot away from the crowds and only a short drive to Cat Haven, Kings Canyon and Sequoia Parks. We definitely recommend this place and will try to be back in the near future. My family and I spent a few nights in House 4 this week. It was perfect for our family of 5. The house was very clean with a fully stocked kitchen, just bring your own food. The host was very friendly and accommodating, she even brought me extra coffee and creamer. I love that they have communal bicycles, my kids really enjoyed them. Distance from the parks is great as well, yes the road is narrow and winding but the best places are always hard to get to. If you're planning on visiting Kings Canyon and Sequoia you should be prepared as all the roads are similar. I highly recommend staying here instead of the hotels inside the parks unless camping. You'll pay the just about the same amount for a 2 queen old basic room inside the parks as a whole house here and it's so worth it. It's only about a 30 minute drive into Kings Canyon and the road up is beautiful. We will definitely be returning, we are already talking about getting a group together and renting out a couple of the houses next summer. The view from the deck was also great, plenty of outdoor seating on the deck as well. Also has a propane bbq all ready to go. 10/10 would/will stay here again! read more

Really nice park! We stayed in spot 7 (full hook ups) over the weekend of Thanksgiving in our RV. There were about 13 RV spots and the park has room for a lot more. Although there is a communal fire ring I really wish we had one in our spot. We enjoyed walking the old air strip with our dogs off leash and the short drive to King's Canyon. read more

Just got back from another trip to this little slice of heaven and wanted to provide more information for those driving from LA!! We had a lot of snow this weekend, it was absolutely breathtaking and Kings Canyon was beautiful to visit and a complete winter wonderland. This time we had 2 couples in House #1 and the living room and deck are absolutely HUGE! the master bedroom is split with a privacy wall which would only be good for a family with kids or friends as there is not really "privacy" and would be awkward for two couples. Luckily there is another full bedroom and bathroom on the other side of the house so that worked out for us. You definitely could have had a lot more people in the house though, especially if they wanted to sleep in the living room in front of the cozy wood burning stove! We will definitely come back to Sequoia Resort after the two wonderful stays that we had and this time around Bryon was more than accommodating to us. DRIVING THERE---- we came up on Friday from LA and we decided to avoid the 245 since we were coming up at night and we remember it being very dark and windy the last go around. We left LA around 6pm and stopped twice for gas and In N Out and unfortunately did not get to Badger until almost midnight! We ended up going through Visalia taking the 63 up to Highway 180 and this portion was very dark and rainy (not going to lie) with lots of turns so you need to pay attention to the map! Once on 180 we hit a lot of snow and not very clear roads so we had to take it very, very slow on to the 245. On Sunday when we headed home, it was really coming down and 245 had not been plowed so we decided to just start heading down the mountain in order to get to lower elevation and avoid what could be even worse conditions going up. We did see a plow coming up on our way down so they were working on the roads but I wanted to suggest to anyone, to just go ahead and drive only during the daylight hours if it is winter or there is inclement weather. 245 was again very windy with lots of switchbacks that did not have any signs or warning. However, it is a much quicker way to get down the mountain and we were home in 3 1/2 hours this time, surprisingly just missing the Grapevine being shut down for snow about 3 hours after we drove through it!! We are already planning on coming back and taking this route but we will only drive during the day because the nighttime drive was just too scary for us... This peaceful and quiet campground is the perfect place to reconnect with nature. Our drive took us north on CA-245 and there were some serious twists and turns to negotiate. Be careful and take your time. The manager is named Andrea and she is the nicest campground employee that we have met in over 2 years of full-time RVing! She is absolutely wonderful over the phone and we had many interesting conversations during our 1 week stay. Andrea has visited over 100 countries during her lifetime and Asia is her specialty. She also has an absolute wealth of information about the local area. We carefully squeezed our 28 foot class A RV into full hookup site #5 as it has excellent tree shade. I say "squeezed" because there is a large tree in front of the site. It was very comfortable. There is a washer and dryer that is free for guests to use. They also have complimentary bikes available. Wow! The campground also a fantastic guest shop room with free wifi and lots of DVDs. The wifi isn't blazingly fast but it's good enough for checking email, etc. My AT&T phone had zero reception but my wife's Verizon phone had 3 bars. We were able to program 2 over the air TV channels (CBS and Fox.) The private restrooms/showers were clean and well-maintained. Recycling is available. This review is for the RV Park. The site manager is very friendly, responsive and accommodating. The site itself is appropriately priced. It is $35 for full hook-ups. The six sites are side by side directly in front of the office structure. There are no tables or fire rings in the spots. There is a communal area with a bbq and picnic table. Due to drought, the lake is almost empty and the landscape is very dry and tan vs green. There are two dogs that roam the area off leash and a handful of cats. The dogs came right up to the trailer door and the cats climbed on our propane tanks, etc. This was challenging for our dog, who is required to be on leash, especially when the larger of the two dogs came right over to him. The location is roughly 30-45 minutes from Kings Canyon. The road is windy in each direction and there are no restaurants, markets, etc nearby. This place is very remote and the RV spots are not located in an area of the property where we could feel comfortable and relaxed with a nice view. read more

Rented House 1 on our stay. It was pretty amazing. The house itself is quite large with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The land around is large with lots of places to walk. There is a lake with some boats and life jackets. Those brave enough could take it, only 1 boat had an attached oar and the condition was not the best. They do have some bicycles for the guests to use, again not in the best condition, rims bent etc. Getting to this place is a ride through some really winding roads. The place is extremely peaceful and would love to come back here. read more

We loved this place! We came camping for Labor Day weekend in our RV. The place is small, with only 6 slots for RV or tent camping. They had a public shower and restroom, both of which were very clean. There is a small lake with two row boats you can use. They have free bike rentals to ride around the area. Sequoia National Park is a short drive away. Management is really nice. There is only one fire pit to share, and one gas grill. read more

4 people, 2 nights in house #1, April 2017, and all of us loved our time here. What a roomy house #1 is! Both bedrooms had own private bath and doors onto the long porch. Living area and kitchen were spacious and well supplied. It is about a 30 minute drive to the entrance to Kings Canyon National Park. That was fine with us, as we so enjoyed having this space to relax and refresh at the end of the day. Bring food and cook out on the grill. Views are so calming! Do note that you will not have cell service in these mountains. There is wifi, but only if you are in the store. Highly recommend this rustic resort. read more

We camped across the country for one month visiting National Parks, Monuments, and Historic Sites. This rated at the bottom of our list of rv parks, and I certainly wouldn't refer to this as a resort with friendly management as suggested on their website. The host/hostess weren't available upon check in, and we were never welcomed or asked how things were going with our site, and we were camping here for two nights. My husband asked for a map of the property, and the very unfriendly manager (I guess that was his title, as he didn't introduce himself or welcome or greet us at any point in time) told my husband that there was a map on a wall in the next room over. NOT at all helpful. The bikes are in desperate need of attention and repair. The extreme problem with this park is there are cats running all over the camping areas and sites, and they are BEGGING for food and running in and out of the sites and under our teardrop camper. Our dog was very disturbed by this, so it was difficult to enjoy our stay. We were expecting to produce our veterinary records for our pet, but no one asked for them, so I guess any pet can stay without verification of rabies vaccination. Then, the manager or grounds keeper had his dog walking with him around the property without a leash. The rules for most any campground/rv park are to have your dog on a leash. Not the case here, so once again, I didn't feel comfortable walking my dog on this property. The sunset views are indeed nice here, but there are plenty of other parks with nice views in the area. During our two night stay there were times when there was no toilet paper and the trash cans were full with paper falling on the floor. The upside of all of this is that we spent more time in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, as we had no desire to return to Sequoia Resort and RV Park. We had such wonderful experiences with friendly and helpful managers, hosts, and hostesses on our trip, so one bad campground out of 25 isn't bad. I recommend staying in the National Park campgrounds if at all possible. read more

Their website shows it to be quite a bit nicer than it actually was. We have an RV. The RV sites are right beside each other with a fence between. The lake seemed stagnant, not something we would boat on and was a long walk from Campground. The back yard view was terrific. The roads to/from it are quite windy and sometimes narrow. read more

Okay, this place is truly unique! There are some negatives which I'll run through first, but the positives really, for us, out weighed the negative. The inlets for the sewer connections are too high. They need to drop the sewer inlets down to ground level. There are no picnic tables or fire pits. There are only six RV sites (which is where we stayed) and they are fairly narrow. We reserved site #3 but when we arrived, someone was already camped there. The note on the office door told us to choose any other unoccupied space. We chose the space farthest away from the other campers. Later, a new arrival came to us and told us that we were in the site they had reserved. Oops! Well, they had to adjust and everything turned out fine. Now for the good stuff. The owner is the nicest guy and his dog Cassie is a talented frisbee catcher and a lovely all around dog. Our two dogs approved. The owners are planning to have more RV sites online by April. The existing infrastructure on the 40 acres that comprise this place is amazing. They have water, power and sewer in so many places that they could put in hundreds of full hookup RV sites. There is an abandoned runway and airplane hanger and a whole lot of history to the place, including a religious cult, Al Qaeda training and Hare Krishna occupation. It's fascinating. You can walk free for miles with your dogs (off leash) and enjoy the impressive beauty of the oak forested foothills of California. And the resort is close to the Sequoia National Park. Although we went to the National Park in December, just before new years, we couldn't find a place to park to get out and enjoy the massive trees. It's VERY crowded. This place is remote and the last 30 miles or so are on very winding and narrow roads. However, if you are experienced at towing your rig and have the huevos to tackle the final leg of the journey, the beautiful scenery and secluded destination will be your reward. If you need playgrounds and swimming pools, this place is probably not ideal. read more

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time. It is a small RV park with 6 sites and very laid back. People had nice pups that were able to roam free which didn't bother us since our dog is friendly too. There is a ton of land to explore and a little lake to swim in. We had a nice view from our RV to watch the sun rise. The road is pretty curvy to get there but doable in our 33 ft RV. The entrance to Kings Canyon is 30-45 minutes away from the resort. The public bathroom was nice and there was free laundry. The price per night is appropriate -the reason for the 4 star review as opposed to 5 is the circuit breaker kept tripping. It was 107 degrees and all 6 RV's had the AC on which the park could not handle. The owner asked us all to turn our AC off which was not an option since I had a sleeping 10 month old. Our RV was way too hot to leave him inside even with the windows open. We just turned our generator on which everyone understood and did not mind. read more

First of all with the experience we had getting to this RV Park, I would warn anyone traveling with any type of recreational vehicle to be ware! The roads getting to the park are very narrow, especially Dry Creek Road, along with many switchbacks. We were in our 40' Class A and quite honestly given the road conditions along with the spaces at the park, we felt it was too large to feel comfortable given the situation. Our opinion, if you are in anything larger than a 25' RV it's advisable to not try to go here. The park spaces are very close together and not much room for pull or tow vehicles. You share a fire pit and bbq area, not much room for personal space or quiet time from the other people's spaces. It can be a very secluded and quiet place, just depends on the others close by you. It is near by the Sequoia National Park if looking for a campsite. Staff was friendly and a beautiful setting just situated up a mountain on very narrow roads. read more

Spent one night with our RV over Thanksgiving weekend. This is a totally quiet and peaceful place tucked up in the Sierra foothills with classic California sparse oak forest. Clean and had everything we needed. Other campers were super quiet. We had a site with hookups, therefore we were side-by-side with several other RV's - the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars (5 would have meant a landscape view from the RV windows instead of a fence / other vehicles, which is basically impossible to find). What a great place to bring the whole family! Room enough for everybody, very clean, comfy beds, fully outfitted kitchen (dishwasher, toaster, blender, pots, pans, plates, silverware...), even in-house washer and dryer. Bikes and sports equipment for the kids, board games, DVD and CD player in the house, good books for nights in. Small resort, tastefully furnished with really good artwork on the walls. Quiet, rural setting and the drive into the Park is short and beautiful. Rates are so good it is like having your own place in the mountains, but so great just can't keep from telling others about it. read more
