Last few experiences with Sequoia have been pretty good. I see some low-rating reviews for Sequoia declining to take new patients, and this makes me sad because it's a low rating for a business that was never visited. From the flip side of things, I greatly appreciate Sequoia's continued commitment to longtime, loyal patients -- I've dealt with more than one dog business or vet that has been treating longtime customers like trash in lieu of courting new parents of pandemic puppies and making it near impossible to get vet care without ending up at an animal ER for far higher costs. For my dog's recent case of GI problems, I was able to get in a same-day appointment with his regular vet. His recent annual was also not difficult to schedule. My recent experiences the past 2 months with front desk have been better than earlier last year, not sure if some folks have changed hands or have been better trained lately. Things continue to be run as curbside service with respect to the pandemic but they seem to have this pretty organized the last 3 visits between May 2020 and now. Dr. Katie Liu has been my dog's vet and is reasonable and sensible, and is patient with answering my many questions and giving practical advice. Check in on Yelp and ask for the dental kit -- you get a cute toothbrush, a finger brush, and a sample of the recommended virbac enzymatic toothpaste which works pretty well to get rid of tartar from my dog's teeth. Only cons to me are that the pharmacy department can be occasionally hard to deal with (but once I talk to their vet directly, issues get settled) and the parking lot is small (especially with socially-distanced parking there's not a lot of spots). I used to have problems with locating this place using their address (apparently this address can belong to two different parts of Old County Road), so double check by punching in the address for Smiling Dogs which is next door. This place isn't the cheapest out there, but after my last dealings with other vets and dog services in the area, I would rather deal with a business that appears to be run right, at least from what I can see the past few years. Thanks Sequoia Vet for your compassion and continuing to take care of longtime customers.

As always Dillon the pug came in for his boosters and came out with a huge smile on his face! He loves Dr Katie, Crystal and Jennifer and all of the other caring people there. No one else is able to clean up those stinky ears with out a day or two of pain normally. Thank you for your experience and wonderful job!!

The Sequoia team has been an incredibly compassionate partner in taking care of our beloved cat Twinkle. Though she ultimately passed, we always felt that Dr. Jorgensen and her colleagues were incredibly dedicated - including phone calls after hours to check on her. I would strongly recommend taking your beloved pets to Sequoia.

    12 weeks

These guys are the best, and here is another good reason why I cannot recommend them enough. They started treating our dogs about 12 years ago, and our beloved 10 week old puppy who they came to know, Tazo, passed away Wednesday evening at home cradled in our arms. Although we moved to San Jose and saw a couple of different vets due to proximity, our 1st call yesterday morning was Sequoia Vet, whose Dr Bosse and Dr Terry, took great care of our dogs for years. They provided guidance, and most of all support in this difficult time and are arranging his cremation. There is no level of hurt that compares to what we are experiencing. Although, knowing he is in caring hands has brought us some relief until he comes home with us in a couple weeks. Mahalo, Eleu, Kerry and his sister 'Harley'

I brought my dog Ollie in for a cherry eye issue, and from the moment we arrived, Dr. Stanton was incredibly kind, patient, and thorough. He took the time to explain exactly what was going on, answered all of my questions, and made sure I felt comfortable with every step of the process. You can immediately tell that he genuinely cares about the well-being of the animals and the families who love them. One thing I especially appreciated was how transparent he is about costs. He clearly explained the pricing upfront so there were no surprises, which I think every pet owner can appreciate. His pricing is very fair and reasonable, and the level of care he provides is outstanding. Ollie is doing great, and I'm so thankful for the thoughtful care he received. Experiences like this make such a difference when you're trusting someone with a beloved pet. I have two dogs--a 14-pound Chihuahua/King Charles mix and an 11-year-old Black Lab/German Shepherd--and after this experience, I wouldn't take them anywhere else. It means so much to have a veterinarian you can truly trust with your animals. If you are looking for a compassionate, honest, and skilled veterinarian in the San Carlos area, I highly recommend Dr. Stanton Veterinary. Thank you again, Dr. Stanton, for taking such great care of Ollie.

When I contacted Restful Paws, I didn't know what to expect. In fact, I felt bad crying on the phone because I couldn't imagine trying to talk to someone like me at that moment. But the staff couldn't be more understanding and supportive. Unlike making end of life decisions for your fur baby, the process of scheduling this appointment was very easy. Restful Paws asked all the right questions, set the expectations, and made this process that much easier. And on the day of, Dr. Ami arrived promptly at the scheduled time. She was very caring and understanding, and she put all of us at ease. We could not have asked for a better last day for our Sodapop. I'm thankful that we reached out to restful pause, and grateful that they were able to come to our house to help us get through this phase. Weeks later, we received a card from Dr. Ami sending us her condolences. Thank you, Restful Paws, for doing the service that you do. I'm sure it's not easy, and I can only imagine how sad it is to do this on a daily basis. Thank you so much!

From calling to make an appointment, receiving reminder emails, and day of texts from our vet, each step was handled with so much compassion. We were able to find a weekend availability which was best scenario so everyone could attend. Dr. Vine was very punctual the day of and gave us a thorough breakdown of what to expect (pain reliever, anesthesia, and euthanasia). We didn't feel rushed at any point, and we were given ample time before proceeding to each stage. She was very respectful and the process was smooth. After the euthanasia, we were able to choose where we wanted the fur clippings. The paw print was perfectly imprinted with Christy's name, which added such a sweet personal touch. We chose to pickup Christy's ashes at Sage, and it was quick. The only thing is it felt very jarring going to an animal hospital filled with so many people and dogs. Considering this was only 2 weeks after the euthanasia, I was still grieving and it was difficult being in that environment so soon. The only feedback I'd give is it'd be more mindful if there was a separate pickup location away from everyone else for more privacy. Dr. Vine sent a sympathy card as well and it was very sweet. Thank you so much for giving Christy such a respectful experience and having her pass comfortably and peacefully. I will definitely recommend this organization to loved ones! Thank you Dr. Vine for such a smooth experience. You made this process much easier and we were able to focus on grieving afterwards. Rest in peace, sweet Christy!
