I have been to seraphim a couple times already and I've had more than amazing experiences with Luz & Sybil. 10 stars for them both. Unfortunately Luz no longer works there. If anyone knows where she went PLEASE let me know. This review is specifically for BEYRA which is why it's 2 stars. It was my 1st time with her & I don't prefer to have her again. Pros: She released all tension in my back & shoulders. Stretched muscles a bit. Overall ok. She addressed my main issues coming in so that makes me happy. Cons: 1. She was sick; idk wat their policy is on sick workers but working so close with people that's risky. I have a very weak immune system. I was terrified that I would catch watevr cold virus she was carrying. Could've worn a mask or stayed home. I'd rather them cancel my appt. than compromise my health. 2. She was so congested breathing through her mouth that it was all i heard. Definitely messed up my zen. I felt moreso bad for her than anything. Quietly trying to breathe through her mouth and sniffing up her runny nose. 3. She didn't ask before she put her hands on my hair or on my face. As a massage therapist, definitely 1 of the things you want to ask your clients before you dive in. You should know where they dont want to be touched. And her being sick I just wasn't happy with that at all. She did wash her hands every time she went to blow her nose though. 4. She did some pull & jerk motion with my shoulder with my arm behind my back. As a PT student, i was startled that she would do that because she could easily dislocate someone's shoulder or tear a ligament. A gentle pull to end-feel would've been just fine. 5. She did this neck stretch where she lifted my head to the point where my upper body was off the table & then moved it to 1 side, another thing I dont think was safe or very effective. Again a simple stretch to end-feel that doesn't require me being lifted off the table by my head would've been fine. 6. The window curtains were open. Anyone walking in that area of the parking lot had a full view of my naked body. I noticed it just as I was getting on the table. After the massage I dived on the floor to untie the curtains before I stood up. It was a true "wth" moment for me. Anywho, I dont want to completely tear her down. At the very least my back felt amazing afterwards. It was very loose and relaxed so she did exactly what I came for. Of course I'm going back to seraphim. They're awesome. Just not beyra. read more

I love this place. I first came here when I was pregnant and achy and Luz could not have been more understanding of a better masseuse. Now I go about 1x a month(they have very affordable memberships!) for different services-- massage, facials, etc. Every experience has been amazing. Received a massage from Stephanie...absolutely amazing. She worked on my back, kneck/shoulders, arms, legs, until every last kink was smoothed out! When I left, I realized just how much I needed that adjustment. I am a runner and lift weights. Both activities take a toll on the body, and Stephanie was able to pinpoint the stressed areas immediately. Such a great experience...I came out relaxed and aligned. :) Highly recommend. read more

I'm usually skeptical about where to get a massage and until yesterday, hadn't found the right place to keep going back. After reading all the wonderful reviews, I splurged and bought my boyfriend and I massages from Groupon. I was able to make my appointment via text - very convenient as I was at work all day - and they were able to accommodate the two of us with multiple appointment options. When we arrived, we were kind of thrown off by the building and the long hallway, but once you walk into their charming office/massage area you know you are in the right place. The girls were both welcoming and very friendly. They offered us hot tea and water while we were filling out our paperwork. The massage was absolutely fantastic. I told my massage therapist (Casey) what was bothering me and she made it a point to work on those areas consistently throughout the massage. She also took off my necklace (Kudos!) After our massage, instead of pushing packages and making us feel obligated to purchase something or rushed, they offered us water and a good laugh. These gals truly made us feel welcome and completely relaxed. If you are still doubtful after all of the reviews, purchase the Groupon - it's well worth the $40 bucks. I would give the massage itself 5 stars. Went in for a prenatal with Luz (forgive me if spelling wrong) and she really did a fantastic job. I paid the introductory rate of $59 which I felt was a fair price given the location itself. The facility itself is no frills which I normally don't mind but I can't see paying the full price without any spa like experience. It is more like a doctors office, but I guess they don't call themselves a 'spa' either. You could hear people getting in and out of their cars since its adjacent to parking lot and just was missing the mark on ambiance. I wish they would move locations because I did absolutely love the massage! read more

My husband has had surgery to correct scoliosis as a child. Due to this he has very tight shoulders and lower back areas. Since we live in Cranford I too decided to book an hour massage to try this location out. We were lucky enough to get the massage therapist, Luz our first time. The massage was excellent. I like a hard/deep massage and for the full hour she worked my muscles with the exact pressure I was looking for - never tiring! The massage was for the full hour too - not like some places that start the timer when you walk through the door! My husband is the tell tale client though - Luz is able to release those tight muscles and she even uses some reflexology to help with his most troublesome areas. We will not only be repeat customers, but also signed up for the massage membership! I also really like that they have later hours for people who otherwise have to work. It's nice to pamper yourself during the week and not use your weekend time for it. read more

I had a prenatal massage from Luz today. The office is shared with other medical practices as an FYI. Their office is not in a spa like setting until you get into the massage room. The paperwork was short, I arrived 10 min before my appointment and my massage started on time. Luz was absolutely amazing! She focused on the areas I mentioned in my paperwork. My massage with Stephanie was terrific. I arrived with a chronic pain in my left hip and left with no pain. Additionally, it has been five days since the massage now and there is still no pain. I stumbled across this place by chance and BOY WAS I LUCKY. I made an appointment and met with the therapist. I think her name was Jamie. She was very professional, and knowledgeable and NEVER judgemental of my less than healthy lifestyle.She worked on my lower back with deceptively strong hands always making sure she wasn't being too tough on me and adjusted the pressure accordingly. After an hour I was a little sore, but followed her advice and drank plenty of water ( to flush the toxins?) AND THE NEXT DAY I FELT BETTER THAN I HAD IN AT LEAST 5 YEARS,!! I will Definitely be returning and , since she seems to know what she' s talking about I'm gonna get healthy and try the nutritionist. This may well change my life!!! Absolutely wonderful! I am not a huge fan of massages and this is only the second time I have received one (my first was a hot stone massage while on vacation). I wanted to do something special for my best friend's birthday-and being that she is 8 months pregnant, a prenatal massage seemed in order. The staff is amazing and FRIENDLY and makes you feel comfortable. It's a very small space but once you're in your room and the door is closed... none of that matters. Just had a massage here today. I used the groupon $42 for an hour massage. All of the massage therapists are extremely knowledgable and pay close attention to problem spots on the body. My massage was amazing! I even fell asleep for a few minutes (that's how relaxed I was). The place itself is not glamorous by any means, so if you're looking for a she she she spa, this isn't it, BUT if you're looking for a place that understands the body and somewhere where you get an excellent massage than this is your go to spot.
