When my family and I brought her in, we were given ample time to say goodbye; never at any point did we feel rushed or taken advantage of. A week after, we picked her up. The package was beautiful, and we felt comforted knowing that she was well taken care of. Two weeks after our baby passed away, a dear friend of mine unfortunately experienced the same loss. They spoke to me like a human and held so much space for me, it didn't feel like they wanted to upsell or just take my money. The owner Brian is very friendly and accommodated taking in my cat Kiki on a day they typically are closed. I transported Kiki on his favorite plush faux fur bed. There was nothing to transfer him on when I brought him inside and the owner said he would keep the bed safe and I assume I would just pick it up when I pick up Kiki's remains. On my return trip to pick up the remains and bed, the bed was nowhere to be found. Brian went on to check several places within his facility, appearing to not have a designated place of keeping customers pet belongings. Brian came ack to the front each time saying he could not find the bed and that he would check one more place which he insinuated was off site. He said he would contact me either way however it's been almost a month and I have not heard anything back from him or anyone from Paws and Claws for that matter. Just don't leave any items with them that could be of sentimental value to you and your pets loved ones! read more

My 15 yr old dog passed away last month, and it was a devastating time for me as it happened so fast and my first pet loss. While I was looking at different businesses offering cremation services, I found that Paws and Claws Aquamation and Memorials differed in their process. Rather than traditional cremation, they offered aquamation which does a take a little longer but appeared to be a more gentler way for me to keep my dog's remains. Brian was super empathetic and patient with us, offering us a private moment with our girl. We ordered the private aquamation service, which was $295, and opted for a second set of paw prints for an additional $20. We also asked to keep the dog's bed. The whole process took a little over a week. I received a call when my dog's package was ready. Everything was packed well and deliberately put together with care. I also appreciated Brian saying that he hoped he did not have to see me again at his business (due to the fact that pet loss is a horrible experience). However, I really support this business and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a local business to cremate their beloved pets. read more

I brought in my cat, Katie, last week and just picked her up today. I had such an amazing experience. The day that she passed, my partner called and made an appointment for us. I was originally coming in for the communal option since it was the most cost-friendly and I loved that her ashes would be spread at Huntington Beach a month or two later. And at the time, I did pay for it. However, after a few hours, I panicked and realized I still wanted her to be with me. I offered to drive up to pay the difference but he said I could pay when I pick her up. They let me know that my cat would be ready in a week and would call me. I was very eager to bring her home and called a week later and they said she was almost ready to go. I wish I got her name, but the woman I spoke to on the phone was so sweet and empathetic. Once we arrived, I believe I was greeted by the same kind woman. Brian showed us all of the sweet little things that were apart of the package and I paid my balance. I found Brian online and although he was closed for the day, he made a special trip back just for my beloved Kobi. Our sweet Nina that was 14 years 11 months went to heaven. My mother loved her so much that she wanted her cremated. Today was when everything was official and final. Paws and Claws was visited because my second and last guinea pig passed away last week in my arms. My husband and I were searching for a place to take him days before he. This establishment was responsive and kind and had also just recently served my cousin when her guinea pigs passed. Calls ahead are appreciated. With this i was able to call the same morning that he passed away and was able to drop him off. They are closed on Thursdays. The building is small and in a business/ industrial area but they are helpful with directions when you call. I dropped Rocky Road off and was helped by Brian (maybe Bryan? ). He was soft spoken and patient. There was no rush or urgency its as if these people do this as a hobby to be kind to those who have lost their fur companions. They have a large and beautiful selection of urns and other types of memory keepsakes for your pet. I was able to leave Rocky on a bed of blankets and a small basket say my final goodbyes. 1 week later I received a call that he was ready for pick up. This time I was held by Elizabeth who went over all my keepsakes and gave me a hug. I received paw prints and a small urn, a condolence card and other small items. The love is in the work. Loosing a pet is completely heartbreaking. Paws and Claws are amazing. We lost our beloved 13 year love bird Papaya. We were so lucky to find this place. Brian and Deanna were such kind and loving people. From the moment we arrived to helping us give papaya a proper urn. A week later we got a call from Deanna and she spoke to me about how beautiful our Papaya bird was, such a kind soul and with so much respect. The moment we picked him up we were taken back! The attention to detail, the time and care they took is one thing! but the respect our Papaya and to us is something we don't get to see at all. A terrible event happened at the vet's office and our beautiful bunny died. The vet where we were was partnered with a memorial place that we were thinking of using. Long story short, they did some things that did not make us comfortable so we went and picked him up from San Diego and drove him to Brian at Paws and Claws. He is such a trust worthy person. He really cares about the pets and the pet parents. You know that your pets is in good hands with Brian. The fees are reasonable. They are respectful and have gone out of their way for us. Losing your best friend is one of the worst days of your life. The grief is hard and cold and black and bottomless. Watching our pets leave us is wrenching. There are no words. To compound that, you have to make decisions as to the "aftercare" of your pet (such an empty word- I'd rather use "family member"). Aquamation is a chemical process that competes with flame cremation. Neither is pleasant to consider, because doing anything like that to your loved one seems awful. But it IS just their earthly body. Your beloved buddy is not in there anymore. I chose aquamation because it seemed less "violent" than flame cremation and the image of that. I did a ton of research, and it does more closely mimic natural decomposition. It's less intense that torching your loved one for 3 hours at 2,000 degrees. But maybe that's just me. Brian was fanTAStic. He waited for me late on a weeknight. I wanted to drive my sweet boy one last time. Brian was kind, he spoke to me like a friend and not just a customer. He helped lighten the dark mood, and explained everything. My big guy cost $350 (in late 2021) and the package comes with niceties like a clay paw print and a wooden box and some other nice things. Brian kept in touch with me throughout the process. It was as pleasant an experience as could be considering the situation. I'm truly sorry if you're reading this because you just lost your best friend. But if so, you can be secure that you're doing right by your loved one. My dog would have done the same for me. We do it out of love, and, though this IS a business, I believe Brian and his wife run this place out of love and compassion too. I highly recommend it compared to anything else out there. There are a LOT of uncaring people who treat you like a number. This place does not. Rest well my sweet boy. read more
