Finally I found a nail spa the feels like a spa and not a factory. It's about quality not quantity. This is my second time here and have been 100% satisfied both time. My nails look great. I don't walk out looking like I have a weeks growth. The staff is very friendly and outgoing. Phat was amazing today. If you are looking for a wonderful Nail Spa. This is your place.

The dirty table in the background is in my art studio, not at Serenity.

I got a regular manicure at Serenity Nail Spa, using two different OPI colors and it's FANTASTIC! My manicurist, Tu (though her name tag read Julie), was phenomenal! I don't like squared off nails. In fact, I don't even like most rounded manicures on my long nails because the nails end up the same width all the way up to the tip, creating something pretty phallic. As much as I'd explained that I want the tips tapered and pointed in many, many other establishments in NOLA (Ritz Carlton, Guerlain, Atlantis Spa, Rocket Science, The Retreat), I never really got what I wanted. But Tu delivered. Finally, someone who can file nails! Tu's skills went beyond filing though. The polish looks absolutely exquisite. All the way down to the cuticle on the sides and the bottom in a perfect, straight line, something that I've also found hard to get at other NOLA salons. She was even happy to redo two fingers I botched by prematurely reaching into my bag. She also gave one hell of a hand and lower arm massage. The salon itself was also an awesome surprise. The atmosphere is really beautiful and relaxing, quiet with soft music and a waterfall. Also, everything is absolutely immaculate. I went to Serenity based on a recommendation and I didn't have any idea what to expect in terms of price. So, when she told me my total was only $18, I nearly fell over. Given the prices I've paid at other places for inferior service and atmosphere, I was floored. With these prices, I will definitely get manicures more often. As others have mentioned here, they do take credit cards, but tips are cash only. It's really no big deal though because there's an ATM at The Whitney two blocks away. It took all of five minutes to shoot down there, grab some cash, and return with a tip. You also don't need an appointment. I just showed up and didn't have to wait at all, but it's worth noting that that was on a Tuesday afternoon.

Had a manicure two hours ago. Really disappointing!!

I was getting ready for the Chris Brown concert and decided I needed bandana-themed nails. I've had…read morea hard time lately with salons not being able to replicate designs I show them. But while scrolling through Instagram and searching hashtags, I came across Magazine Nails and was immediately impressed by their work! I DM'd them with photos of the nail design I wanted and asked if anyone could do it. Not only did they reply quickly, but they confirmed they could do the design and booked my appointment right then and there. The entire interaction felt warm, professional, and welcoming, it really gave me a good feeling about choosing them. When I showed up for my appointment, the front desk greeted me kindly and told me exactly where to sit. Tommie was my nail tech, and when he asked me which of the two reference photos I wanted, I was so impressed...it showed he had really paid attention to our DM conversation. That kind of customer service means a lot! The nails turned out so freaking cute, I absolutely loved them! He nailed the design perfectly. What stood out even more was how friendly the entire staff was. Two other women who worked there stopped by just to compliment my nails. You could tell the vibe in this salon is supportive, artistic, and genuinely fun. For this to be my first visit, it was an incredible experience, and I'm definitely coming back. Highly recommend if you're looking for a talented, friendly team who actually listens and brings your nail vision to life!

The Lux Spa Pedicure is worth every penny - Nyla is fantastic and really helped me relax and enjoy the experience. And my feet are still so soft over 2 weeks later. Maggie does my hands and I LOVE THEM. I have found my holy grail nail artist! They are so talented and precise and really care about what they are putting on your nails. Their attention to detail and precision is what sold me, but they are also very cool and a great collaborator. I cannot recommend this place enough!

After moving to New Orleans I have been trying to find someone who does Russian manicures…read more I have had several appointments with nail techs who seem to believe if they file around the bottom of your finger enough times they're doing it right. They are not. It got so bad that I took my question to Reddit, which is how I ended up booking at this place, which sadly was no different. When I sat down (twenty minutes late) I was informed by the nail tech that she does Russian manicures, but doesn't cut with a scissor. Immediate red flag but I had already paid in full and needed the disaster set I walked in with removed. This person then proceeded to not follow any of the steps of a Russian manicure. No orangewood stick. No flame bit to lift the dead skin. A jagged cut around the cuticle with oil added to hide it. Abrasions where my live skin was filed with the ball bit. I was then informed that I would need to pay an additional $60 for the hard gel application. To be fair, it was applied nicely and the shaping was great. It just wasn't a Russian manicure. If it had been billed as a hard gel manicure and left at that it would have been fine. The gaslighting at the end - I was told I should book hard gel fills moving forward because I don't "need" a Russian manicure - was the icing atop a very shitty cake. If you don't know what you're looking for, this is the place for you. The vibe and aesthetic of the salon is nice. If you're looking for an actual Russian manicure, keep looking.
