I left Michigan almost two years ago for Illinois. Prior to leaving I had a lot of work done. The biggest thing was getting a new battery. This month the battery went kaput in Indiana. I had my receipt but it wasn't the best copy. I called and spoke with Brendan L who emailed it to me while I was on the phone. I took the receipt to a local dealer who replaced the battery with no problem. I came home for my family reunion. Ananda helped get it signed in for a check before Zi hit the road. Nick checked it said it was OEM good. I returned to the dealer after realizing my license plate frame was damaged while visiting my mom's gravesite in Novi. I went back to the dealer for new frames. We dropped off our vehicle for Warranty covered work. We were told the service center would require keeping the car for 48 hours to diagnose and look at it and repair. The service department said that they do not have any loaner vehicles or dealership vehicle vehicles to give to customers that have repairs at the shop. No word or status two days. My husband and I both called and were told we would get return calls. The only feedback was they didn't have any status or updates after two days of keeping our car. I finally got a call by a third-party person from the service, that was responsible for the repair. She told me that she had told us it would be 2 to 3 days before they could even diagnose it. The staffer that is coordinating the repair on our vehicle indicated that the technician that was supposed to work on our vehicle was out sick today. What! There's no other technician that can work on our vehicle then? That is ridiculous! The service department here doesn't even worry about keeping your car for days and leaving households to fend for themselves to get around. My husband checked the car app and noticed that it had not moved an inch in two days. The repair service coordinator had indicated to my husband earlier that they haven't yet found the issue. There's clearly an issue, it's making loud knocking noise noises when you drive the vehicle. They haven't diagnosed it, because they haven't even looked at it in two days. We finally find out the diagnosis on our car, 3 days after dropping it off, of course we are still not getting a loaner. We are told it should be done by Monday. 3 days for a diagnosis. An estimate of 6 days to get the car back. :/ Called on Monday afternoon, still working on the car. We were told last week it was maybe a transmission mount, Monday we were told it was new struts needed. Not looking like it will be done by Monday as promised. No update and they are closed for the day. They will be keeping our car until the day after Christmas. Over 9 days with one car between the two of us, good thing it's the holiday. Was able to pick up our car after 9 days of keeping our car. 4th diagnosis from the start, the repair and coordinator seemed to way out of Sync through this entire process. Yet another dealership with poor customer service and experience, no surprise here. Lincoln dealerships and their service staff are 200 times better than this Ford dealership. How absolutely disappointing! read more

They need to get rid of AI bot that is being used for Service call-back. Had a bad experience with AI bot (did not realize it for some time) that was giving me a hard time to make or change appointment. It is stupid so it keeps repeating the same info it is programmed to say. Watch out for text messages that pretends to be a service technician but does not allow for call-back. it is the stupid AI chatbot. read more

EVERYTHING!!!! Mostly COMMUNICATION between service person & client. My Ford Fusion was brought in on Monday 6/2/2025 for a battery problem at 1:00pm. My car was not looked at till Wed at 4:00pm. Diagnosed on Thurs & was told it would be ready Fri. Fri came & no call from service. I had to call her. They decided to keep the car for over the weekend to make sure battery stayed charged. NEVER HEARD FROM SERVICE Fri till I called there at 2:00pm, still not knowing if it was ready for pickup. Did not hear back from them till 4:00 & still no idea if it was ready for pickup. Finally went there at 4:30pm & found out it was ready. Service people sitting around doing very little. Everytime I asked to speak to the Service Mgr or Service Director they are unavailable. I would definitely think twice in taking my car back there. UPDATE: Picked up my car 6/10/25 & Tech Nick came out from working on a car & spent 10-15 min going over my car & all the details he had found while working on the vehicle. He is qextremely knowledgeable & very accurate at his work. I must give SERRA credit where credit is due. Thank you Andy for following up on a call, you helped me ease my mind. read more

This review is for the collision center on Grand River. My wife hit a deer Jan 9 with her '25 Escape. It did about 10k in damage to the front end. She drove it home but the ins adjuster deemed it undriveable. We were able to make it to Serra. Five stars to Greg and his staff! The repairs took much longer than expected due to parts issues. They got us a loaner for part of the time. Repairs look perfect. When I picked it up the Escape looked like new. One of their staffers completely detailed the whole vehicle. I couldn't find a speck of dirt anywhere. We've been loyal customers of them (previously Holzer) since 1990. Would recommend. Say hi to Greg!! read more

service department don't know what they are doing. Within a month I had to take it back 3 times, twice for the same problem, third time it was due to something they did. I took my car in for for them to check why my engine light was on. After a week of it being in there, supposedly they fixed the problem. 3 days later it came back on, and it was making all kinds of noise when I press on the gas, and it was accelerating by it self when I had it on park. I took it back in and they claimed it was a different problem, and after telling them the engine light was back on, they agreed to fix it and that I would have to pay for parts only. After it being there for 10 days I got it back. After a week, I was driving and it started smoking, the antifreeze was leaking and it wasn't holding any of it. I got it towed to them for the third time, and they claimed it wasn't anything they did, I told them don't fix, I got it towed to a mechanic, and he told me that there was a hose that was cracked due to them changing the parts from the second trip. very bad service, mechanics don't know what they are doing. To whom it may concern that you guys do services on a Saturday because my battery was down so I came here but I also had other issues wrong with my car was the battery. My ABS light was I oil change and tire said it take a couple of days. They couldn't figure out why the ABS light was coming. It didn't come on, but it took a minute for it to come on. That's why they had the truck for a week. I asked him there that long could you go ahead with the oil take my tires. He said that will be done and we order the part I had to pay for the before they can do the once they found out what was wrong with the ABS light coming on after a week I picked up my truck. The tires were not rotated. My oil was not changed. Only thing I got done. I got a new battery now today I'm picking up my truck to come to find out. I did not pay for the part, they're telling me that I paid for a partial labor for them just to check out what was going on with the ABAABS light coming on which on the side. I actually took a day off reason it took so long for me to come back. I didn't have time to take off work, but once I got it, I came back. They said it will be a day turned out. It was more than a day this time. They actually gave me a loaner. I appreciate that but then I come in and you're still telling me that I partial labor for them to look at pay the rest of the remaining to put the hoist in, but never anything about the recall. I need to go back in there and check on that because I don't know if they did my recall or not, and another thing was that when the part actually came I wasn't was wondering why taking so long definitely poor communication when I came in this today to pick my truck up there's no somebody will be with you in a minute or helping can get them to let them know that you're here. read more

In my opinion the mental geniuses at Serra Ford can't count. I arrived at 7:15 am for an oil change. There are two lanes coming into the service bay. I was in lane one, third in line. I watched as the low gray matter reps checked in 8-10 cars in lane two before even looking at lane one. Now I'm sitting for 3 hours when I was 3rd in line. When I questioned WHY they would ignore lane 1 and only service lane 2, they looked at me like I asked them to explain the theory of relativity and said "I wish we had a better system of checking people in." Don't take your car here. We have had a few negative experiences since Serra took over ownership from Tom Holzer. The most recent being service on a leased 2023 F150. I made a service appointment for a Friday morning (1030). I checked in about 5pm and was told that my car had not been looked at all day. My service advisor Tyson told me that a service appointment DOES NOT mean your car will be worked on, the appointment is only to meet with a service advisor. This has to be the STUPIDEST thing I have ever heard. My vehicle was looked at the following Monday morning. The issues were the washer fluid not pumping out and the high beams not coming on. The washer fluid issue ended up being rodent damage that chewed through the hose (I replaced myself) and Tyson told me the high beam issue was a PCM update that needed to be done. Doesn't make sense but I thought ok. I picked up the vehicle and was told everything was fine. I drove the truck home and thought hmmm I should double check this and to my surprise (sarcastic) the high beams still did not come on. I called Tyson back and he said that was weird they must've only worked for 10 minutes. I will not take any vehicle back here. I will make the less convenient drive to Bill Brown to make sure the repair is done correctly. read more

Since then have had to replace the tires $2,000, step rails $750, engine $11,000, catalytic converters $3,000, rear defrost, two wiring harnesses, front / rear breaks complete - $2,000, needs all universal joints fluids changed. Careful buying used from them with the "as is" document. Have any vehicle from them thoroughly checked by an independent mechanic. read more

We requested a different salesperso, his name was Bradly Maschke and what a differenc. He was very professional and informative and took care of all are needs. I've been to this dealership twice (Both for oil changes and tire rotation) The first time, I waited 30 mins after service was done for them to locate my keys. When they pulled my vehicle , they forgot to do a miscellaneous part to car and I had to wait more hours to receive vehicle This second time, I bring the car in at 8am for tire rotation and oil change. Upon my arrival at 3:30, the vehicle isn't even been touched. Both times a seperate issue was raised that wasn't an issue before. Since I have a free oil change and tire rotation package, it's no cost (It was paid at signing). They've wanted to charge me to unlock the tire (Which the didn't complete tire rotation) despite having new tires Serra Ford has the worst and slowest mechanics in the state. They are lazy and I get there are other cars that have to be finished but this dealership is beyond being repaired. read more

I was contacted about a recall so I made an early morning appt because I don't live in that area. I bought the truck there so I figured I'd give their service dept a try. I sat from 9:30 until 3 and heard nothing so I checked the status with the service advisor who knew nothing and had to go check with the tech. when he returned the answer was they couldn't get to it because they had to order the part. I sat there all day and nobody bothered to tell me this? I felt this was an inexcusable waste of my time especially since I had to check on my own to find out what was going on. SCHEDULED oil change (pick up/delivery) took five hours! Bryon in service tried to up sell. The cashier over the phone was extremely rude. Lastly but most important they delivered the WRONG car. And when I finally spoke to John, the service manager (phone system is awful). He lied and said they had two vehicles with the same last name (impossible) and they had 'TO LOCATE MY CAR'!! When they finally 'found' my car and delivered it, John said he would send a complimentary oil change, but guess they lost that too because I never received anything! On Monday, February 19, 2024 I brought my 2016 Ford Fusion to Serra Ford 39300 West 10 Mile Road in Farmington Hills, MI. I was approached by a Service Advisor Rachel Lanzilott who I explained the problem with my trunk. The trunk would not stay closed. Rachel told me they were short staff and busy that day. I would have to leave the vehicle and a tech will take a look and she will text me. I was told I could use the shuffle service to get a ride home. I was texted some hours later that the tech said I need a trunk latch it will be $470.00 parts and labor. I gave the ok by text to do the work. I got my vehicle back the same day. I drove the vehicle ; park my vehicle when I open the car door to exit vehicle my trunk popped open again. I started the vehicle and the trunk opened up again. I return Tuesday, Febraury 20,2024 I was asked who waited on my when I let the person know why I was here again. Rachel Lanzilott was called to my vehicle I told her what was going on with the trunk. She thought this was surprising she told me I would have to leave the vehicle and have the tech look at car again. I asked could I get my vehicle back today. Rachel told me she would but me ahead of other customers to make this happen. I waited for hours at home to hear back from Rachel; so I do not know if putting me ahead or rushing the work really happened.But I am not really concern about that. I do get a text from Rachel that the tech said trunk release switch is bad mostly likely due from the latch malfunction. Remember in the beginning of this review was told I needed a new trunk latch for $470.00 parts and labor. Now the malfunction of the latch trunk release switch is now going to cost me $440.00 parts and labor. I told Rachel I am not paying for that; and why was not discovered or found out Monday when I brought the vehicle in. I was not paying for someone mistake. I was told by Rachel that mistakes happen and we are human. Well this not a mistake a human who works on Ford cars should be making. I was told by Rachel it is no ones fault just unfortunately something like this happened. We went around with that discussion I explained this is not my fault and I am not paying that price. I was told by Rachel she is not paying $500.00 for my repair either; how she cannot pay for this ( what does this mean I am very confused who told her she will be taking money from her personal paycheck to pay my bill with Ford) . Rachel said my car is old; and what different does it make if I paid Monday or Tuesday for the malfunction part. I told Rachel the difference is I would have made one payment for trunk. I now wonder if I was charged for a part the latch that I did not really need to have replaced now. Rachel text two more times claiming she has to talk to her manager. I said do that she texts me $310.43 will this be alright. I told her I am not paying that either. Now we are on the phone because I called her; I am told by her she can do it for $299.29 I gave this some thought not wanting to pay anymore money; but I agreed to this. I got my vehicle back on Tueday evening after 5pm. I drove to work Wednesday, February 21, 2024 and trunk is fine ; I hope so. Rachel wanted to express to me how she worked with me. How she pushed me in front of other customers. How humans make mistakes. I am done with Serra Ford. There are many other places I can go and believe I will be welcomed there for bringing my old vehicle for service there. read more
