Disorganized Dealership with Concerning Business Practices - DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! My husband and I recently bought a certified pre-owned Subaru Crosstrek from Serramonte Dealership. Dealing with this dealership was a stressful and frustrating experience. The way they handled everything felt not just disorganized but deceptive, and it's shocking that this is coming from a certified dealership. I'm writing this so other buyers can avoid what we've had to deal with. After I signed all the paperwork, I noticed windshield damage that I hadn't seen during my test drive or final inspection. The damage only showed up after the dealership took the car to wash it and fill it with gas. Sales Manager Moath Nemer told us the dealership would "definitely take care of it" and said a technician would check whether it needed repair or replacement. But when he sent me the due bill, it only said "repair." I asked him to update it to say "repair or replacement" like he promised, but I never heard back. When my husband brought the car in for our scheduled appointment, the first technician looked at it and said it couldn't be repaired, it needed a full replacement. A few hours later, the dealership called and asked to return for another evaluation. This time, a different technician said someone had already repaired the windshield, but he couldn't guarantee the quality of the repair. Sales Manager Carlos Chavez then told there were no records of who did the repair or when it was done, and said they weren't doing anything else about it. I called General Manager Arasch Haidari, and he assured me over the phone that the dealership would replace the windshield if the damage got worse because of their repair. But when I asked him to confirm that in writing, along with proof that they fulfilled the due bill, he never responded to my emails. On top of all this, we bought an extended warranty and maintenance plan, but the dealership never sent us the paperwork for either one. That's a pretty basic thing they should've handled automatically. This dealership fails to provide important documents, doesn't follow through on what they promise, and apparently doesn't even keep records of the work they do or take accountability for it. I'd recommend going somewhere else for both buying and servicing your car. P.S. This dealership had so many good reviews on Google and Yelp, but after this experience, I'm not sure they're real. I discovered their page on the Better Business Bureau, where real issues are posted. I wish I had found it before purchasing the car from them! read more

They showed me a CarFax report to make the car look clean, but that clearly didn't reflect the actual condition. Once I took it to a real auto shop, multiple serious issues were found. I've never left a bad review before but I want to make people aware of my experience at Serramonte Subaru. I experienced rattling in my Impreza whenever I drove 50mph+ so I took it in thinking it could be a tire issue. I've had great experiences at other Subaru dealerships in the past so I knew it would be a quick fix here. The gentleman who quoted me told me 3/4 of my wheels were warped, the axels were going to bust, tires were old, etc. He quoted me more than $2,500 to fix it. That is unacceptable and sounded odd. I've already driven 100+ miles on the car since the rattling started so I figured if it was that bad my car would've fallen apart already. I told the guy at the dealership that it was way too expensive and he told me I wouldn't get a better deal anywhere else. I took the car to a local auto shop where we know the owner. He told me nothing is wrong with the Subaru... i simply had a bubble in my tire. I ended up replacing the tire for $100. I've put 2k miles on the car since and have experienced no issues at all. This isn't meant to be a negative review. The staff was all nice and professional at Subaru... but something was fishy here. I would recommend getting a second opinion always. In this case, it appears the staff at Serramonte Subaru was looking to make money assuming I didn't know any better. read more

I wanted this to be good. I was ok with the 2hour grueling wait for service. But the wait for a half ass car wash was too much. I was told around 3hrs in they were drying my car. So tell me why it came out wet and covered in dirt? The front service people were good and they helped try to see what's taking so long but someone working in the shop might be having a bad day and maliciously "complied" with a bad job. I couldn't see out the windows and it is cold today. I had a towel in my car so I luckily could wipe it but why did I have to wait all that time to then do the work?! Also there was a plastic bag in the pedal area and the dirty paper mat still And they didn't bother to throw away the old sticker. They tossed in the passenger seat. This was the last service I had attached to my purchase -my other three I had in Oklahoma, where I moved here from, and sorry, but for once Oklahoma actually did something better. I always had good experiences w Subaru and this final one made me resolve I'll get my next oil change at a garage and save money. This was an awful way to make me feel like I have to be made to wait to expect a disappointment of a wet car . I should have insisted to just take my dirty car after the service was finished because that was not worth the extra wait. Adding insult to injury. I put that 2hour window in consideration but if I had an appointment why the hell did it take 3 hours without any updates . I missed my class guys . Anyway. My wheel locks are missing. Haven't thought about those since the day they gave them to me and i put them with the spare tire. For the first, I had another mechanic work on it... new brakes... and he couldn't find them. I know I put it back there. Called em up and they insisted the last guy was very thorough and always used a master key and always documented what he did. Wondering if the guy who left a wrench in my engine and called to ask me to drive all the way over there to return it was as thorough about documentation. Nevermind that they were the only ones who would or could have used it in the last 5 years. It's the only place I ever brought it. I never had to change a tire so it wasn't me, but they're sure it wasn't them. To be dismissed so quickly is frustrating. I've had several poor experiences with this place and not once did they reach out. Just stating the facts. When I bought my new Subaru this seemed like a good dealership. The Finance team sold me an extended warranty and pre paid maintenance. It was said that the maintenance plan could be used at any dealership. When I went to use it at another Subaru dealership our of area that dealership had no record of this. Had to pay out of pocket. Reported this to Serramonte Subaru and they noted it was a clerical error on their part. Errors happen as we all make them however it is in fixing this error is where they failed. They claim they fixed it and would reimburse the out of pocket expenditure. Some 60 days later the reimbursement has not been received. They are very poor at returning calls or emails and seem not to care at all. They state things like, "I thought that was resolved." A dealership is great until you need their help and then it doesn't exist. A good initial experience with this dealership has become very poor. read more

Update: I tried again to contact the company. Forced to file complaints with BBB and report to California Consumer Protection Agency which turns out has laws against this with $7500 penalty. Also noticed abysmal complaints on BBB. Good to research. While this may seem trivial we are talking about breach of privacy, complete disregards for customers and breaking the law despite being well informed. And what a shame as if this hadn't have happened I would have considered continuing being a customer. Unfortunately, they have proven to be completely unconscionable. Here is the complete complaint: --- This is a formal complaint regarding Serramonte Motors (Serramonte Subaru, Kia, and Toyota) persistent violation of consumer privacy rights, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and its blatant lack of corporate accountability, despite its headquarters being in Florida. Since 2016, the company has abused my confidential information by repeatedly sending unsolicited marketing materials. Despite hundreds of documented opt-out requests, including direct communications to staff, mailings have continued. Representatives made repeated, unfulfilled promises to remove my data. This constitutes willful and deceptive misconduct, demonstrating a profound disregard for customer privacy and truthfulness. Serramonte Motors' actions violate the CCPA, which explicitly grants consumers the right to request deletion of their personal information. The company's persistent refusal to honor these requests, even after direct notification, demonstrates negligence and a systemic failure to protect customer data. Under the CCPA, this can lead to penalties up to $7,500 per violation for intentional misconduct. [2] Furthermore, this deliberate waste of resources for unwanted marketing is a mark against the brand's ethical and environmental responsibility. Enforcement action is sought due to Serramonte Motors' lack of accountability, evidenced by their failure to respond to my repeated requests. Agency intervention is needed to mandate the immediate and permanent deletion of my information from all marketing lists, including those held by corporate headquarters. An investigation into these repeated CCPA violations is requested.
