I have not been satisfied with the service at this Chevrolet dealership, unfortunately. On two occasions, I have brought my hybrid Chevy to the maintenance department to investigate an error message of "reduced propulsion" and the first time they told me they couldn't find the problem. The second time I returned for the same problem the manager told me that they couldn't figure this out, but that I still had to pay for the service because he had his most experienced technician working on it. Following the instructions on the bill to speak to the manager, Joe, if not "completely satisfied" I did just that, but nothing changed. The manager even recommended that I keep the car filled with gas and fully charged in order to avoid this reduced propulsion acceleration issue, which appears to be guesswork. read more

Before you read this - the 3.3 star rating for this dealership is a sign things aren't going well! Oh, and the D- rating on Better Business Bureau. Nicolas, who is apparently their trade-in buyer, has repeatedly contacted me regarding a vehicle I have listed for sale on Craigslist, and at this point the repeated unsolicited messages have become extremely irritating. Every time he contacts me, he makes another lowball offer despite the fact that I have repeatedly made it clear that I am not interested. For context, the KBB "trade-in value" of the vehicle in essentially stock form is approximately $23,000--and KBB trade-in values are already notoriously conservative. My vehicle is also extensively modified with thousands of dollars in quality aftermarket components, including a 4.5" MetalCloak suspension system with adjustable control arms, beadlock wheels with 37" Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires, steel bumpers, a winch, full MetalCloak skid plates, and numerous other upgrades. His offers have been: 1st contact: $22,000-$22,500 2nd contact: $22,000-$23,000 3rd contact: $18,000-$20,000 4th contact: $22,000-$23,000 After the first offer, I told him I wasn't interested. That should have been the end of it. Instead, he has continued contacting me every few weeks with essentially the same lowball offer--sometimes inexplicably lowering it by several thousand dollars, then raising it again later--as though repeatedly sending me unwanted offers is somehow going to change my mind. It isn't. I have made it abundantly clear that I am not interested in selling the vehicle anywhere near those numbers. Continuing to contact me after being told no multiple times is unnecessary, unsolicited, and frankly obnoxious. If this is how this dealership instructs its buyers to approach private sellers, I find the practice extremely unprofessional. Terrible first and LAST experience with this dealership. I was contacted multiple times by sales representative, Nicolas, over the span of two weeks who reviewed photos of my car, confirmed everything looked good, and provided an estimated appraisal range before scheduling an in-person visit. I rearranged my schedule and drove over an hour for the appointment. While I was already on the way, another representative, Rachel Pagan, sent me a message confirming the appointment and saying she looked forward to meeting me and appraising the car. I responded immediately, but after about 40 minutes she followed up they were no longer interested due to modifications something that was clearly visible in the photos they had already reviewed. I understand dealerships have policies, but this should have been communicated before scheduling, especially given the distance. Update: After leaving my last detailed yelp review on how John lied about me never contacting them all of a sudden Randy, the finance manager I've dealt with this whole time reassured me yes I have made many attempts contacting him to have this cancelled. Mind you Randy had me send yet ANOTHER letter March 2026 to have this cancelled that would be honored from February 2025 (when I first tried to cancel this). So it is now June 16th, 2026 and I just got off the phone with Ally who I financed my vehicle with and guess what???? They said the warranty STILL ISN'T CANCELLED! How many visits and how many hours does it take to get a second key for an electric vehicle programmed? Answer: 2 visits and 5 hours! This is the most dysfunctional and disorganized auto shop I've ever encountered and if at all possible, recommend you go to another dealership in the area. Hopefully they are better; it wouldn't be hard. From the other reviews, it seems I'm not alone in my assessment. Which begs the question, what IS management even doin over there?? Not only that, but we only received one of two parts of this brand new fob key. So we had to order the part that allows one to put it on a keychain on Amazon (see photo for what we received vs the entire part). While we didn't order the cut key, it's part of the fob. It's just cheap to remove that, esp everything you put this customer through. And throughout, staff seemed unaware of their own process to ensure that the key and service could happen on the same day, lol, sending us on a goose chase the first time we attempted to get it and numerous transfers on the phone the second time. And on top of that, echo the comments of just general rudeness and staff convey a complete lack of care. If you are stuck with the Serramonte store, be sure to micromanage the process times two. Obviously all of this shouldn't be necessary, but you could save yourself hours of your life. For example, recommend even double checking the day of your appt that the technician is still available and the part in stock. Seriously, heed this warning! I went to 2 different mechanic shops and was told NONE of my sensors needed replacement and only ONE needed air in my tire. Not sure why I was told I needed new sensors if it's a FAIRLY NEW CAR(barely 11 months type of new lol) I had just gotten the oil changed and wheel alignment and they had mentioned no issues that was 2 weeks before I came in. One of worst Auto repairs/service deptartments in California- The service department is way overpriced and almost outright dishonest in their abilities to diagnose simple problems- took vehicle in, they had for 10 days, said it was fixed and charged me and my warranty company for repair, upon bringing truck home problem was still there they acknowledged problem and said bring back with no guarantee they could find the problem or that they would not keep charging for attempting to fix the same problem. GM's own guidance is clear: if this code appears, the repair is covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles. AutoZone's diagnostic tool confirmed the code. I brought that proof to Stewart Chevrolet. Instead of honoring GM's policy, here's how they responded: Dismissed the evidence: "P2138? That means nothing." Blamed me instead: suggested "maybe rats ate your wiring." I brought my Chevy Bolt there to check on a tire warning dash alert. When I arrived, I informed them that I had paid $5000 at the purchase of the vehicle for a five-year bumper-to-bumper warranty. They proceeded to tell me that the car would need to be checked out to see what the problem was with the alert. After telling me that the tire had a nail in it and that they could not repair it because the tread was too low, even though I only have 23,000 miles on the car. They informed me that the diagnostic was $210 and I could not use my warranty through them because it has to go through a third-party. I was never informed at the beginning of this or was told that a simple diagnostic that took less than 15 minutes would cost me $210. read more

It's been over a decade since my last visit as a customer here, and it has changed dramatically for the worse. BE AWARE!! I would never do business with this dealership now or in the future. I was attempting to sell a used car and a representative from the dealership negotiated with me for a price/offer to purchase the car if it was as represented by the pictures and description on my Craigslist listing. When I went into the dealership (used autos), there was no acknowledgement of the purchase price offered, and by the "smirks" of the various folks that I dealt with in the process, the process was not a confirmation, but in fact an "appraisal" with an offer that was $2,000 less than the offer that prompted me to drive for over 30 minutes to this dealership. In my view, clearly a bait and switch. The individuals (GM for the used car dealership and appraiser) didn't want to discuss what happened. I would caution anyone considering doing business with this dealership and plan to escalate my complaint so other potential customers do not become victims. read more

I'm re-adding this review after Stewart Chevrolet had the review removed by Yelp, and I will keep re-adding it until they stop removing it, because it is a legitimate review of a legitimate experience. I will not be silenced and I will not have a company propping themselves up by illegally removing reviews from a website. Not only doesn't this service department know about EVs, but they actively block people that do know about them. The Spark EV has a major flaw that causes the car to lock out old packs with aging cells that naturally deviate in capacity, which to an untrained (i.e. this service department's) eye, looks like a Serious Problem when it's not. Instead of fixing the issue by reflashing the HPCM2 to clear the lockout (or clear Type-A codes) and immediately recharging it, they say it can't be fixed and that it needs a new battery. The Spark EV service manuals even describes the fault code, and the procedure to recover from it - this service department just ignores it. From there, they tell the owner that they can't have someone come fix it themselves, unless they tow the car out first. Oh, and pay their diagnostic fee, for mis-diagnosing it and causing all this headache to begin with. The proper thing to do: after you observe that all cells are above the fault threshold (above 2.0v, while the fault threshold is 1.75v), you reset the codes or reflash the ECU, and immediately charge the battery (because a low cell is what triggered the lockout, thus the battery is absolutely dead and will re-trigger again if it's reset and then immediately powered-on or tries running the heater, etc). After charging for at least 10 minutes, you can power the car on and move it around the lot to a faster charger or etc., and fully recharge the battery. Then it's good to go, it'll work fine for as long as you don't go below the fault threshold again (treat "propulsion power is limited" as your completely dead battery). The BMS flaw still exists, but you can work around it and still have a perfectly usable car with plenty of range and performance. Instead, they leave this owner with a bricked car and ask to pay a diagnostic fee so that *someone more skilled than them* can fix it. Not only that, but when told that there is someone that knows how to fix it, they don't want to learn. They refused every attempt to be informed, at no cost (I have never intended to sell this information, only to give it), how the problem occurs and how to fix it. On that fateful day, when I arrived with the owner to fix their car, the service manager refused to budge on overcharging them. In fact, the itemized receipt shows them double-charging for diagnostic fees - charging somewhere around $500 for reading-out diagnostic codes, and charging $125 for the privilege of connecting a power supply to the 12-volt battery so they *could* read diagnostic codes. It was the most blatantly dishonest dealer experience I'd ever seen anyone have, and I was shocked to be part of it. read more

I brought my truck in for recall work on the infotainment system, and the secretary was immediately rude and dismissive when I asked a simple question about the repair. Despite being told the job would take two hours, I ended up waiting 3.5 hours--only to get my truck back with the issue unresolved. When I asked another employee for help, he was just as rude. Since recall work is done at a factory-set price, I can only assume Stewart Chevrolet was frustrated that they couldn't overcharge me. Really poor customer service and inflexible pricing. I was charged a diagnostic charge of $540 on what proved to be extremely minor but they classified it as user error and wouldn't apply my extended warrantee towards the issue. My SD Card had jiggled loose and it is a known design flaw, I later learned. But instead of just pushing it back in for me, I had to wait 2 days for their top electrical technician to assess and since they classified it as "user error" since it had jiggled loose, I was charged the full diagnostic charge. Very unfair. I will never go here again, despite having been a customer for years with my prior vehicle. read more

Advertises used car prices that are $4,000 lower than their actual price. There is a $4,000 IRS credit on used EVs at time of this writing, but not everyone qualifies. However, Stewart is advertising a price of around $16,000 for a car they actually are pricing around $20,000. Shady if not illegal. If it were a dealer discount to anyone coming in, that's one thing. But this is an IRS tax rebate dependent on several factors, which seems fraud to quote a lower price than what they are actually charging. It's the similar to going into Safeway, and having all the price tags only showing the net price after a coupon that you may or may not have! If I can't trust the dealer to be straight on their list price of the car, I can only surmise that they will load up the rest of the asking price with all sorts of undeclared mandatory add-ons such as undercoating, theft protection, dealer profit, etc. Sadly, this is a very good location for Chevy service. Also, EVERY CAR THEY SELL IS ALSO ADVERTISED $599 LESS THAN THE ACTUAL SELLING PRICE! They have some mandatory theft etching that they put on every car, and you "can't negotiate" it away. California just passed a "junk fees" ban, but did car stealerships get exempted along with restaurants (thanks Scott Weiner)? If you insist on another $600 profit for something like this or undercoating, they should just advertise it honestly instead of lowballing then forcing it on later. TL;DR: dishonest bait-and-switch tactics by people who don't know what they're talking about We saw a used 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport Touring on the Stewart website and arranged a time to see it with the salesman, Diego. When we arrived, we were told that Diego had left for the day and that we would be helped by Roger, a different salesman. Roger was fantastic; we test drove the car and then negotiated a price with Roger that was slightly above what we had been hoping for: $38,500 OTD. We told Roger that we'd sleep on it and let him know. That evening, we decided we would take the car at the dealership's offered price, pending a clean prepurchase inspection. The next morning, our mechanic performed a prepurchase inspection with Diego supervising and discovered an issue with the ABS system, producing a code fault within the car's computer. Our mechanic also said that this was an important safety issue but should be covered under the manufacturer's warranty, since the car was still relatively new. When Diego called us to arrange signing, I told him about the mechanic's findings. I said I would not be comfortable purchasing this car unless the dealer sent the car to Honda to get this issue fixed, but I would sign the purchase contract as long as we agreed in writing that the dealer would send the car to Honda for repairs. As an alternative, I told him we would accept $500 off the offered price to take the car as-is. After a brief hold, Diego told me his manager had agreed to provide a due bill stating that the dealership would deliver the car to Honda for repairs. When we got to the dealership, ready to sign, Diego was waiting for us. While we were preparing the paperwork (they ran our credit--even though we were paying cash--and we bought insurance on the spot), Diego came back with the finance manager and the news that they were not actually willing to take the car to the Honda dealership because they did not believe the car had any problems. Diego kept insisting that because the dealership had replaced the tires on the car, there was no way the tire speed sensor could have an issue. The finance manager also kept trying to gaslight us by saying that there couldn't be an issue with the car because there weren't any lights on the dash, and that the dealership's mechanic had taken a look at the car and hadn't reported any issues. The problem with this is that the issue identified by our mechanic is not a tire issue at all, but an issue with the ABS system (linked to a tire speed sensor) that was diagnosed by running a diagnostic software through our mechanic's attached computer -- so both Diego and the finance manager were trying to convince us that our mechanic was lying, but they were talking about an issue that was completely distinct from what the actual issue was. Despite our repeated explanations about the mechanics of the actual problem, neither of them seemed capable of understanding the actual problem or the safety implications that came with it. The finance manager treated us with hostility and condescension, which was ironic considering he was either completely misunderstanding the problem or playing dumb in order to manipulate us into buying a potentially unsafe car. They also lied about their mechanic; they said their mechanic was in and took a look at the car after I provided them with the error code while we were there in person, but when we asked to speak directly to the mechanic, they said that they don't have a mechanic in on weekends. I actually contacted the mechanic during our conversation with Diego and the finance manager, and the mechanic told me he had explicitly informed Diego of his findings during the inspection, and Diego still managed to completely misunderstand the issue. After three hours of contentious back-and-forth, we left without buying the car. We understand that used car dealerships frequently employ dishonest and bait-and-switch tactics, but I was taken aback by the fact that they were willing to let us purchase a potentially unsafe car even after being informed of the issue. They ended up dropping the online price by $1000 and contacting me after two days with an even lower offer, so clearly this car isn't worth what they were saying. I would avoid this dealership at all costs, not just because of their unsafe practices but because of the way they treat people. All dealerships are trying to make money, but some of them are much easier to deal with than others. Stewart's chevrolet has been a nightmare trying to purchase my car. Finance manger placed extended warranties against my permission and was extremely angry when i asked him to remove it. Its been weeks and they have messed up my finance deal and i am still trying to answer questions with my bank. My trade in payment is late and i have gotten negative credit history because of this. I was ghosted for 2 weeks by sales staff and here i am still lingering. I would not recommend buying here. Try going to a large Chevrolet dealership instead. read more

I've been burned by Stewart Chevrolet in the past and had taken my business elsewhere (primarily across the street to Cadillac) because of it. However, against my best instincts, when my son was looking for a new car, we started at Stewart. A few hours later, we were off the lot with a newly leased Blazer EV. Fast forward 5 months and I'm having the vehicle towed back to their location because the charging port was damaged during a charge session. Surely this is covered under warranty, right? ABSOLUTELY NOT! I'm told the damage was caused by an outside influence and it would not be covered. That I should contact my insurance company to see if they will cover the damages which, of course, would still cost me my deductible and possibly raise my rates. What's wild to me is the fact that the outside influence is the very source of energy required in order to operate the vehicle. So I have to cross my fingers any time I plug a charger into my car, wondering if it's going to cost me thousands of dollars simply for trying to charge it so I can drive it. read more

I took my car in for a warranty service and I had a less of pleasant experience dealing with their service department. I appreciated that there was a Lyft service available upon leaving my car, but beyond that there wasn't much more positive experiences. My car ended up being in the shop for over 1.5 months and I had to constantly call to follow up with my car's progress. I would not recommend this to place to anyone looking for a fast and good customer service experience. read more

1st they could improve on their "pricing' went in to get a transmission mount and transmission fluid changed they were gonna charge me $1,780 so I denied the repair and took it to a nice certified mechanic and got a much better price of $560 not to mention they charged $500 for the estimate I've always heard DON'T take your car to a dealership now I see why not cool how they price gouge my advice to anyone just find a nice certified mechanic read more
