We 100% recommend Serramonte Subaru. The staff at the front is super welcoming, which can definitely be reassuring because as exciting as it is to get a new car, it can also be nerve wracking! Well, since making the deal everything has gone down hill. I would not recommend this salesperson or dealership to anyone! Not only have I reached out multiple times about the brand new vehicle making me nauseous (a reported problem by many others across the internet) I've never gotten a call back! Scheduled an appointment to get the ApplePlay fixed on a car purchased 3 months ago (a known problem across the internet) and showed up this morning "greeted" by a service person to be told I left you a message we can't do the update today. After speaking firmly, they were able to do the update. I was quoted two hours, then 2.5 hours...3 hours and 10 minutes later I attempted to check-in about the wait and was aggressively spoken to by David Tran, Senior Master Consultant, maybe a master in being a jerk, but clearly not in service. This place and car are beyond disappointing. Service quality is great, but the prices are so high it had me questioning if I'm getting ripped off here. Obviously dealerships cost more, but a $1750 quote for a wheel bearing replacement is more than 3X above market after calling local shops. That kind of premium just feels dishonest. I purchased my very first brand new 2015 XT Forester here 9 years ago. I was excited to own my first Subaru too. I heard great reviews about Subarus craftsman ship and their long lasting cars. Purchasing the car was a way to go and thought it will last me a very long time. Since Subaru's are known for their reliable cars, number one customer ratings, and service. I decided to purchase a reliable Subaru to have and drive for years to come. Sadly to say, my car has less than 70k miles and is now currently giving me trouble. I brought my car into Serramonte Subaru to get a diagnostic check. They want to charge me 10k in repair work from their information gathered (computer diagnostic). To top it off they want to rebuild/tear apart my engine. There is no reason for that. I am on a fixed teacher income and that is a burden to carry. They couldn't offer any help and gave me the number to corporate. So here goes my ordeal with Subaru advocacy support and SOA... I reached out to Subaru of America (corporate) and they have not been helpful at all. They have given me the run around, false information, and accusing other parties for Subaru's lies and mistakes. Subaru customer advocacy is a big disappointment and the representative Don wasn't helpful at all. He came off rude through his email and point out lied to me. When we called him out on his lie, he didn't have anything to say. Do better Subaru! I've done my research and my year/model and other Subaru model's are known for their problematic issues that I'm having with my car currently, but Subaru doesn't want to take accountability for their issues. I would highly recommend people to check service bulletins. Subaru just only notifies you about nationwide recalls, but not known car issues. I'm highly disappointed with the customer service and how they treat their customers with care. I will not recommend anyone buying a Subaru or purchase a Subaru in the future. Why did the lady keep saying "we should have loaners just check with your service agent." I'm like yeah it's a non-negotiable and need a car for work. My car is under warranty and I really kept asking and she was so vague. So I rush to go in before work.... Low and behold... I go in this AM and they say "oh yeah we discontinued all our loaners because they are old and we have no estimate or idea when the new loaners are coming." I've never felt compelled to leave a review but Mo sure did it. Was given a price for a vehicle and told it would be held for me by Mo as I was making the 3 and a half hour drive. We talked on the phone and he verified with me that the price of the used EV I was looking at would be $24,995 after fees in order to qualify for the used EV tax credit. I set an appointment time to make the purchase for a few hours from then. I make the trek out there and about halfway I receive a text saying "someone is looking at it, hope they don't buy it!" Red flag #1 Uhm what? They said they would hold it for me? I was 20 minutes out at this point, we get there only to be met with "oh someone else is test driving it right now." They ushered me to a table to try and file the paperwork for the vehicle before the other sales guy and customers returned from the test drive... red flag #2. I had a loan pre-approved and they knew this, they kept pushing me to fill out a credit application which wasn't needed with my loan (red flag #3) and then when it came down to the final sale price they were tacking on an extra $1,600 (red flag #4) which sent it over the tax credit limit, pushing it up another $4,000! The IRS is very clear that non legally required fees are calculated into the sales price for the used EV credit, so this made it no longer qualify. They were saying they were getting this passed by the IRS for everybody, even though most of those people will end up having the credit void since their sales price is over $25,000 now. All in all, Mo was incredibly dishonest and not up-front about any of the interactions. Very slimy. read more

We went to the dealership with the full intention of buying a new car for our expanding family. Tom the salesman was very nice, respectful, and knowledgeable. He gave us space to look around and was very comfortable to talk to during the test drive. Tom did a great job!! His manager ruined Tom's work though. I can't remember the manager's name, but he initially offered us a Crosstrek at $12,000 over the MSRP. After I questioned the price increase, he explained that this was the market price for that car. He "made us a deal" and then offered the car for $7000 over MSRP. When I told him no, he was visibly annoyed that I even questioned this ridiculous price. We immediately left. The manager then tried to flag us down in the parking lot, but he had already lost Tom this sale. I'm sorry Tom!! You were great!! Next weekend, I am going to finalize the purchase of my new Crosstrek for a much more reasonable price that is than the MSRP at Carlson Subaru in Redwood City. read more

I received an incredibly competitive offer after reaching out via email about specific 2025 Crosstreks. The offer was from Ron Antonelli and he included all of the parts of the offer that I requested (breakdown of MSRP, taxes, fees, giving me the total out the door price without any add-ons). I tried to see if other dealers in the Bay Area that also had 2025 Crosstreks would match or beat the offer, and no one could (and many refused to give a quote online, wanting me to waste my time to visit in person..), with one dealer even telling me "looks like you found yourself a crazy deal". It was easy to set up an appointment with Ron to test drive the car, and I decided to move forward with purchasing. Ron was fantastic to work with, everything was explained clearly and the deal was fantastic. He answered all of my questions, and the sales manager and the finance (Shawn) that I worked with were kind and did not pressure me. They were open to my negotiations which I already had a great deal, but I also appreciated that I didn't have to sit through a hard sell of extras that I didn't want. I was nervous about the car buying process and Ron made it easy. While I didn't end up trading in/selling my current car to them, I was able to drive away in my new car and return later to pick up my old car, no problem.
