The price was $4,000 cash, not including taxes and fees. THE FRAUD & SAFETY ISSUE: Immediately after purchase, I took the car to an independent mechanic for the alignment. The mechanic found the vehicle to be unsafe and unroadworthy, requiring over $6,000 in safety-critical repairs, including: Three wheels were severely bent/warped. All tires needed immediate replacement. The front struts were blown out. The engine had a serious oil leak. THE DEALERSHIP'S RESPONSE: When I presented Lux Auto Sales with the detailed, written repair estimate, they refused to take the car back. They claimed the vehicle was sold "AS IS," ignoring the fact that California law prohibits licensed dealers from knowingly misrepresenting a vehicle's condition or selling an unsafe vehicle (Vehicle Code § 24007). Their only offer was a suspicious $1,700 repair through their own shop, which does not even cover the cost of the necessary safety parts. ACTION TAKEN: As a result of this fraudulent misrepresentation, I have taken the following official actions: A formal demand for rescission of the contract and a full $4,000 refund has been asked of management. A formal complaint has been filed with the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Investigations Division regarding dealer fraud. A complaint has been filed with the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). I am currently filing a lawsuit in Santa Clara County Small Claims Court to recover the full purchase price and costs. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. They misrepresented the condition of an unsafe vehicle and refused to resolve the matter legally. They count on buyers not knowing their rights.

After working with Hertz through my auto club, they found a car for the next day at this Gilroy location. When I called to be sure they had the car before I booked it, their brand new manager McKenna answered the phone. She let me know they had the car I needed on their lot available that day (I needed it that day). She worked with the 800 customer service to align my rental of this car and helped me get the price I had originally booked for. She held the keys for me and I was able to get to the place in plenty of time that day. She was kind, professional, very helpful and made a rough booking day into an incredible experience. When I went to the location I learned she is the new manager and they have a whole new team at the location. I have read some of the former reviews and I can attest that this NEW team is absolutely stellar. I am McKennas fan now as she pulled through in ways rarely seen at an agency. Hertz is very blessed to have her on their staff. I truly hope people revisit this location and see the changes. I will return again if I need a rental car. It starts with me telling our sales guy that we do not appreciate pushy sales guys. 10 minutes later he is showing us a used trailer with failed clear coat, a dirty shower, and cabinetry falling off the wall. We kindly decline, and he proceeds to ask us what number it would take to make a deal. Buddy-- it's not a number, this trailer needs help. Okay fine, so we look at a couple new ones out of our price range. Finally, he has one online that is within our price range and is pushing us to go see numbers. This is where, as someone in sales (though solution oriented) I now know this is a team trained on Andy Elliot instagram clips. "How soon can you get this person to get pre approved so they feel committed" Okay fine, let's talk numbers so that when I do get serious, and take my business elsewhere, I know what kinda of approval I can get. This is where we reiterate that we are still just looking and a decision won't be made today, but miraculously we're asked how we'd like to proceed with a downpayment (card versus cash) don't worry, we won't be. Our seller disappears for 30 minutes, this is where it gets good. Okay we're leaving, but wait now suddenly he has numbers. Except there's a catch. "I'm sorry but the trailer we ran numbers on got sold, but what I could do is collect a $1,000 deposit incase that deal falls though, you're next in line to get it" I'm thinking... did this person, as a man, just ask me to give him $1,000 for a sold trailer. Are you out your mind Get a grip mate. Advice to management: Discovery goes a long way, listen to your buyers. Here I'll even give you some templates: - How long have you been shopping for a trailer? - What type of trailer are you looking for? - Is it important for it to have central AC? - is solar important? - do you need one with bunk beds or no? - what would be your ideal floor plan? - how often do you go camping? You have 5 bored salesman sitting around with their feet up on their desks bantering. Clean up the act and brush away the commission breath. You're asking people for a lot of money, act like it.
