Our HVAC has been going out since the freeze! At first, we replaced the thermostat, but then the fuse kept blowing. After a few weeks of troubleshooting, we contacted Service Wizard. It was Monday, President's Day, so I was surprised someone answered; as it was 4:45 and not an emergency, they didn't send anyone out that night. They scheduled someone to come between 8-12 with the understanding that the technician would call 10 to 30 minutes out. I got the call at 8:00 that he would be here in 10 min. And he was. I liked that he called, told me his name so I would know who to expect, and arrived right on time. He was kind and understanding and listened attentively to my rambling. He figured out the issue, it was a short, and he had it fixed within the hour!! He understood my husband's need to "fix things' so he circled the issue with the thermostat (a separate issue) so my husband could see. Whwbbu showed him; my husband was glad because he thought that might have been an issue. They do give military discounts, which helped tremendously!! I got in touch with a manager David and he came out with a technician manager. They were courteous and made some adjustments. It's been a rough experience, but if you're persistent, they will try to help make the experience better. I'm not sure if I'll use them again. Might try some other companies to gauge whether this is just how the AC business is. read more

This provider has been great until recently. Used them for full system replacement a couple of years ago. Prices have gone up and margins for equipment are seemingly excessive. I'm sad to say I will be looking for a new provider. Great work, technicians are great, but it's difficult to justify the markup for a small pump to $775 when it costs around $75 or so. Edit. I was concerned and called back. Turns out the estimate was incorrect and was fixed. The charges were credited down to something one would expect for quality service. I'm grateful they listened, researched and corrected. Since this was my only issue, I'm giving the deserved full stars change. I cannot recommend Service Wizard enough! My AC broke down on the hottest day of 2024 (108 degrees), and the Service Wizard team took care of me. The customer service rep got me into the schedule right away, I got a quote from sales rep Allan that day and he made sure I was booked for installation before the weekend, no small feat in this city over the summer! When the unit I wanted wasn't available, Allan and manager James were able upgrade me at no additional cost. Installation from Adrian and Miguel was excellent, and they even sent someone out afterwards to check to make sure everything was ok. I have to especially thank Allan for walking me through the entire process every step of the way, and making sure my family was going to be comfortable and happy with the new unit for a long time. Service Wizard is now my go to AC company. They've now done both simple things like unclogging drain lines and replacing capacitors as well as actual repair, replacing a board in one of the units at a rental house. It's hard to get excited about an HVAC company, and really I'm not, I'm just excited to find a company I can rely on. They're easy to schedule, often call after online scheduling to move the appointment earlier, reliably text/call when they're on their way, do easy billing and payment online, and competent. I called them out after a new home buy with items after the inspection. They charged me 99 to check things out and everything was good, that was in April. Let us enter July heat wave, A/C unit not cooling, Service Wizard booked a week out, I called another company. Before they even got the shoulders into the attic the competitor stop, "Man I'm not even going to need to look at this, this isn't going to work, I can see it from here." The evaporator coil was nearly twice the height of the rest of the system hence only utilizing less than 1/2 of the cooling component. Me thinking a crock, I called Service Wizard, told them what I was told and guess what, they'd be willing to come out today to see and give another quote. Well, the competitor was right, Service Wizard told me they had let go of the previous guy, but that I'd need a new evaporator coil because the units don't match right, then gave me a quote higher than the competitor. Service Wizard charged me 99.00 for a service I didn't even get and then tried to charge me more than someone who did what I paid them for already correctly. I won't use them again, they should have offered me a refund, but don't care that much. At least the guy who didn't know what he was doing was really nice..... read more

A/C went out on Sunday evening. Monday called at 8am and technician Justin R. was there by 11:20. (11-2 arrival window) He diagnosed the problem in minutes, gave me a quote, I approved and it was fixed and running again by 12:30. Now that is amazing service!! I bought the Rewards Membership and got 15% off my repair. Now I'm covered for twice a year system checks and plus more perks that are well worth the price. I highly recommend Service Wizard. Ive been using Service Wizard for both my parent's home and my rental property for almost 10 years!! This review is loonnnng overdue! Shane Hacker was assigned to me about 10 yrs ago and boy oh boy! Am i glad I found Shane and Service Wizard! I purchased these homes at a pretty reasonable price (back then!) and consequently their HVAC systems were very old. I didn't have a lot of money to renovate so I really needed to hire people who know their stuff really well and would keep my budget in mind (aka keep the hvac systems ticking!) until I had enough money to change them out. And Shane has been such a blessing!!! I'm on the service plan and so shane comes by twice a year and they keep functioning well. Granted, I did finally had to replace my parents HVAC system, but when it was time, Shane, and I worked together to address my aging parents' needs including to a really good air filtration system to help them breathe easier He just came out today and made sure that their concerns were addressed. Look, I'm happy with the service and the technician, but the price is ridiculous! The technician was here for one hour total. Diagnosed the issue, blown capacitor, changed it out. Capacitors cost less than $50. They charged me $600! I know Service Wizard has over head to pay, but come on, friggin $600 for one damn hour, F&#K. They are screwing people at that price. SUGGESTION... Research on YouTube, if it is a blown capacitor, change it yourself, save $550! read more

I had a new Trane HVAC system installed. There were a few problems with the installation that required a second visit from another service technician to resolve. The second technician corrected a wiring problem and programmed the furnace blower motor to reduce the noise level. Some damage was done to the drywall during the installation and I have an appointment scheduled for the drywall repair. The quality of the repair remains to be seen. I'm not sure about the value as todays prices have increased substantially over the older HVAC systems and the newest HVAC system's lifespan is much shorter. read more

We had 5 HVAC companies provide quotes for the removal and replacement of the outdoor condenser, in-attic HVAC system, re-insulating the attic area, and all 17 duct work runs in our attic. Allan provided a very competitive price (he wasn't the least expensive or most expensive). What convinced us to hire Allan and Service Wizard was Allan's attention to detail regarding the most efficient system for our 2500sqft home. Allan spent significant time measuring the interior of our home and suggested the best possible Lennox AC system that provides the most efficient air flow through our home. Allan and his team recommended relocating a number of ceiling vents/grills in order to make the new system work more efficiently. The installation team of Gerardo, Luis, and Luis were superb professionals throughout the entire process. From the tear-out of the old HVAC system to the installation of the new system, Allan and the installation team were the best at communicating every step of the process. We never had a question of what was to happen next throughout the entire time the installation team worked on the project. This was a big messy job. Desperate for some cool air as we head into the dog days of summer, I called Service Wizard about my twenty plus year old air conditioner's inability to keep up. Kevin came out and found that the outside unit was not running because it wasn't getting electricity. I called a master electrician who ran some tests and determined the problem resided with the unit outside itself. Kevin returned and explained the depth of the problem: quick fix or new unit? I opted for a new unit. Markus and Cristian came out the next day and made the switch. Markus had to replace some wires in the air handler and install a new thermostat. Cristian was meticulous about his work alongside Markus. These guys are exceptional! All three of them, honestly! Old fashioned, quality care and customer focused. Told them I'd get another opinion and called Service Wizard off a recommendation from a neighbor - and David simply replaced the capacitor (which the other guys claimed they tried) and got my AC running in no time and a new maintenance plan for $400. Service Wizard has some great service on this 9 month pregnant lady when her AC busts at the tail end of Sept. On the FIRST day of fall in Austin, when our temps were still in the high 90's, our AC in our house stopped blowing cool air. With being 38 weeks pregnant, that did NOT sit well with me and I immediately went on Yelp to start my hunt to find someone asap AND reputable. Hard to do? Yes. Impossible? Not if you do your research! While I had several great contenders of folks reaching back to me, my #1 goal was to get service same DAY and fixed asap. We purchased our house only in April and I've been running the house on a cool 68 in the PEAK of Summer so you can imagine what happened to our AC. Plus, with our home warranty, I didn't want to wait WEEKS for a fix when I could go into labor any day now. I sent a request for service to Service Wizard and then called them as well. From the call, the guy handling the online requests recognized my name and I had denoted if there were availability from 12-5 the same day afternoon. You can feel my excitement when he asks "Oh we have some guy out we can send to you near by from 8-12 this MORNING, does that work?" HECK YES IT DOES. Hearing that news made me ecstatic. The service fee charge for the technician to go out is $79, and I KNOW they can get away with it because let's be real, no AC in Texas is torture. I agreed on the price and time the technician would arrive and then received a text AND e-mail when the technician was on their way, their name Shane, and a photo of him so I could be aware of who would show up. Shane was awesome. He got to business. I showed him my AC Trane unit outside and he got to finding and figuring out what the problem was. It turns out the problem was a component was found to have a leak and I needed a contactor fuse amp repaired since it had burned out. Probably from the running of the system and tip top heat. I'll admit, the pricepoint, NOT FUN. Alittle over $1k when all said and done for the parts, labor, and refilling of freon. I asked if the service fee could be applied towards the price cost which was no. But Shane said if we have problems in the future, Service Wizard does warranty the problem for a year and they would come out and fix the same issue no additional charge if his fix didn't do the trip. I slept last night after spending my precious penny in glorious AC in a cool 72 degrees. Worth their service to get my AC back UP and going in less than 24 hours of me whining about no cool air.
