In particular, Chris F. has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism on every project of mine. His attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship set him apart as a truly outstanding plumber. Project Background I recently purchased an older home, full of charm and distinctive bathrooms. However, I encountered a leak in the master shower that required the p-trap under the shower drain to be replaced before new tile work could be completed. My concern was that reconnecting the new p-trap to the antique cast iron drains in the foundation might cause the cast iron to crumble. Chris F.'s Approach and Solutions Chris came to the rescue, using a camera down the drain to evaluate the situation. He explained the difference between what was probable and what was possible, providing two bids: one for the probable good case and one for the possible problem case. Having used Chris before with excellent results, I trusted his methods, which are always the least intrusive and focused on effective access. In the worst-case scenario, Chris would need to cut and excavate a 2' x 2' hole in the foundation around the shower drain, then tunnel no more than five feet under the foundation from that access point to secure a solid connection to the iron drainpipe. In the best-case scenario, he would only need to excavate a 2' x 2' hole around the shower drain to replace and secure the new p-trap. He also showed me pictures of his past work for reassurance. Successful Outcome Fortunately, the best-case and probable case prevailed. While fixing the p-trap, Chris also discovered an unrelated drain leak under the foundation, which he repaired at no extra charge. I felt I received excellent value for the service provided. Professionalism and Work Quality Chris left the work site clean, as he has always done in the past. He and his co-worker collaborated well, using a small and quiet jackhammer designed specifically for plumbing foundation work. The new drain looks beautiful, and I can confidently proceed with the new tile work, knowing that the unseen part of the shower is sound and affordable. Appreciation Thanks to O & M Plumbing for introducing me to Chris F. and Mike. Both are good and considerate professionals, and I am grateful to have them working in my home.

He is confused about the type of water line I have and didn't demonstrate a basic understanding of the differences between PEX-A and PEX-B. He then quoted me $850 in labor alone to cut out a small section of PEX and install the valve--even though I would be providing the Moen Flo device myself. To "justify the price", he claimed the system would need to be "programmed," but my own research shows that the Moen Flo does not require any special programming during installation. Charging that much for a job that should take well under an hour felt unreasonable and misleading. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a plumber, and STAY FAR AWAY

We called a few plumbers in the area and since it's Saturday and after three o'clock there was no answer. I prefer to speak to a live person so we kept dialing away. I read a bunch of glowing reviews on the neighborhood app about this company so I called 3 Options Plumbing. Chris answered right away and provided us some options on what needs to be done with the cost. He was quick to stop by on a Saturday and assisted us with getting our toilet fixed. We understood that there would be an after hours charge considering it's Saturday. We were just happy to speak to a live person and get this issue resolved so we wouldn't have to worry about it all weekend. We definitely lucked out and he was able to get the toilet to flush normally again without having to take the toilet off. He was thorough on his explanations about the process and even provided three options for something I was looking to do in the future for our toilets since he noticed a leak. We appreciated his amazing customer service he provided. I know for next time who I should call that can provide reliable service with a smile.

If you need your ducts cleaned, I 100% recommend you reach out to Ian, Sean, and their team. They are the best at what they do, have the correct tools, take proper precautions, and genuinely clean your ducts. We received before and after pictures--a night and day difference! We have also worked with Sean to help identify problem areas in our HVAC system. His knowledge of HVAC work (especially as it relates to IAQ) has been incredible. We had a Mold Assessment completed in our home, and it was recommended that we reach out to Sean for an HVAC assessment. Sean is professional, super knowledgeable, and spent a lot of time looking at our entire HVAC system, talked to my wife and me about his findings, and sent us a report with everything (photos, recommendations, reasons why things need to be done in a certain way, etc.). Also, he was extremely helpful in identifying who could help us complete any/all recommended work (Sean has helped train/worked with many HVAC companies in the area). We've implemented as many of Sean's recommendations as we could, and it has been a HUGE improvement. We have reduced the overall humidity in our home, replaced certain contaminated components in our HVAC system, reduced dust, and have better overall indoor air quality throughout our home. I don't think we'd buy another home without having Sean take a look at it first!

On Tuesday, a guy named Ron from Clean Air Pro came with a drill-powered chimney sweep kit that costs $40 online. He refused to use the proper equipment, claiming a chimney drill power kit is how they "always clean air vents." The online statement on clean air pro specifically says "we use specialized equipment - vacuums and rotary brushes, among others-to complete our tasks." And it was very different from the top notch service I received 3 years prior... Their office first said they'd get back to me in a day, but then the owner, Ben called and did his best to make it right. Ben managed to find a team that could make it out the very next day (which is very short notice, so was much appreciated) A crew including Alex from Houston came to do a "fix" - and they did a phenomenal job! They not only put plastic to cover surfaces and protect from dust, they washed the registers and primed them, they vacuumed (see pic) with the proper equipment, got so much dust out , they sealed off the sides of my register boxes since attic dust was coming out (such great attention to detail!), they even cleaned out the box under my AC that I thought was beyond hope! So grateful to the company for making it right, to Alex and crew for the hard work, and to Ben (who's following up with more training to ensure his team follows exact same procedure as Houston).

The technician…read morewas out here roughly 10 minutes at most, checked two attics and told us we had mold and that it would require a major cleaning and sanitation. He first showed me the picture he took of our downstairs attic and then the part that to me was very hinky was when I asked to see the picture of the second unit, it took him several minutes of scrolling through his phone to find another picture that showed a moldy unit. (If the picture was just taken it would've been right there next to the first picture.) Estimate was over 3K. I had another company come out two days later and they said we had no mold and the estimate $1100. I'm going with the second company who spent 30 minutes going over everything and making sure that they provided an accurate estimate versus the service we got from Clean Air Pro. The other major negative was the person didn't even put up the stairs back to the attics and left my back door open to the garage.

He replaced one breaker right away, then ran to the store to get the correct part for the second one and replaced that too. Before swapping anything, he properly diagnosed the issue, checked the entire panel for other problems, and even temporarily moved the bedroom circuit to a different breaker to confirm it was the switch itself and not a wiring problem. Very efficient and solid work. I've got his card in case we need him again--hopefully we don't.

While I had a basic idea of what I wanted, I debated getting a formal project manager to handle coordination of the full install. With a ton of experience doing this kind of install, Marcus helped out so much that I was pretty much able to handle coordination of the main pieces and personnel without needing to hire anyone else. He did a great job making the vision come alive and was transparent with any problems that arises (and importantly fixing them when necessary). He was friendly, fair with pricing, and also very quick-- framing and installation took only 2 separate, spread out days (to allow for drywalling and parts arrival in between). My personal experience with him in terms of communication was excellent, but I also purposefully avoided peak summer season so as not to catch him at a busy time. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

In the past, I could confidently recommend Service Wizard due to their effective solutions that kept my AC system running smoothly. Regrettably, my faith in their abilities has been shattered due to their handling of a seemingly simple issue during their recent visit. I reported a wiring problem with the compressor, expecting it to be promptly resolved as they had done in the past. To my surprise, the technicians not only failed to fix the issue but astonishingly claimed that my AC unit was too old to be repaired. This assertion left me dumbfounded, especially considering that the unit had only been installed 15 years ago when the house was built. What followed was even more disheartening - a push for an expensive replacement as the only solution. Service Wizard handed me an outrageous quote of $9000 for a new AC machine. As someone who had been a loyal customer, I found this figure both shocking and unjustified. This significant sum for a replacement unit, combined with their inability to resolve the initial issue, made me question the quality of their service and their commitment to customer satisfaction. Determined to explore alternatives before making such a substantial investment, I sought a second opinion from a different company. The contrast was stark and revealing. The technicians from the new company quickly identified the problem - a simple incorrect wiring configuration - and promptly fixed it. The total cost of this efficient repair? A mere $300. This experience shed light on the glaring disparity between the two companies' approaches. It is with regret that I conclude that I can no longer recommend Service Wizard for AC repair services. Their failure to rectify a basic wiring issue, coupled with their insistence on an exorbitant replacement cost, has eroded my trust in their abilities. Their unwillingness to consider alternative solutions and their hasty push for a costly replacement reflect a shift from the customer-oriented approach they had maintained previously. Our ACs were 27 year old Tranes. Since the Tranes had lasted so long and been so dependable I wanted to use them again. I was planning on replacing them this winter when the attic would be cool and prices would have been seasonably lower. The downstairs unit had had its exterior motor replaced about three weeks ago and it was no longer cooling. I contacted a friend who owns a local AC company (his company replaced the exterior motor). His technician told me that the freon was low and that they didn't do leak checks in the summer and he thought that the leak was on the inside unit. I couldn't justify spending just shy of $2,000 to repair a possible interior leak and limp along for four more months waiting for cooler weather, so my plans changed. I decided we'd upgrade to new units. My friend sent me a bid comparing Goodman, Lennox, and Trane units. I called him back for some more information (model numbers & etc.) and while I waited for him to return my call, just to be prudent, I got another bid from Service Wizard. Emillio, from Service Wizard, came out and looked at my units and, using a leak detector, found that the leak was indeed located on the inside coil. Service Wizard bid two higher SEER rated Trane replacement units at a lower price than my friend. Of course, price isn't everything. Service technicians David and Zach came out and installed both units. They were very professional and detail oriented. My wife especially liked that they placed tarps over our carpet during the demo and installation. We have grandchildren and we didn't want fiberglass insulation in the carpet. The copper piping to the old exterior units had bothered me for over twenty years because the elbows (which were actually made for plumbing) were bent at more than 90 degrees. These were replaced with "long turn" elbows which made me happy. The old duct work was attached to the new units and they were both installed in one day. I am very pleased with the installation which is saying something as I have a professional Architect's degree and am known for being very picky. The owners are very responsive and easy to reach. The service technicians are quick and efficient and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend using Service Wizard. read more

I initially had a positive experience with Service Wizard. They were prompt in responding to my request and sending a technician to my house. The technician arrived on time and listened to my concerns. However, the rest of the experience went downhill. The technician diagnosed a failing capacitor and recommended a replacement, which I approved. He also mentioned finding gaps in the ductwork and suggested sealing them with mastic. I agreed to this as well, and the technician performed the work. Here's where the problems began. The technician informed me the mastic would require the AC to be off for up to 12 hours, which wasn't ideal in the Texas heat. After 6 hours with the AC being off, I checked on the mastic and discovered a large hole in the plenum box - a clear reason for the AC malfunction. Disappointed that the technician hadn't addressed it, I contacted Service Wizard again. Here's where things went from bad to worse. A representative, Susan, contradicted the technician's recommendation, stating no mastic work was done and only a ductwork replacement was suggested. My concerns were met with disbelief, essentially implying I misunderstood the technician. To her credit, Susan managed to get the same technician back the next day. However, the frustration continued. When I inquired about what to expect, Susan informed me the technician would provide a "temporary solution" for the issue I already paid to have addressed. Overall, while Service Wizard was initially prompt, the missed diagnosis and communication issues were a major letdown. Susan's dismissive response to my complaint compounded the problem. Unless you're comfortable with the potential for misdiagnosis and frustrating customer service, I cannot recommend Service Wizard. read more

So, I woke up this morning, and my A/C was blowing warm air. Now, since central Texas weather in the summer rates somewhere between Oven Broiler and the Seventh Plane of Hell, not having working A/C was simply out of the question. I called around to a few places and EVERYBODY was busy today. (Some were barely able to contain their laughter when I said I needed a service call this afternoon...) So I jumped on Yelp again and found these guys based on their solid five-star rating. I called, and Jan in the office was VERY helpful. She told me that yes, they could make it out this afternoon and told me that the technician would be calling me when they were on the way by. I figured it would be several hours before I heard anything, but Shane called me within 3 hours, and was onsite within 30 minutes after his call. He let me tag along and watch the repairs and ask tons of questions. It turned out to be a simple, if very expensive fix (Freon is expensive, Kids!) but he kept to the price he quoted me even when he had to add more refrigerant than expected (Would have run me over $100 more!) Long story short: Service Wizard are my go-to folks for AC repair in the future. They were dependable, reliable, and knowledgeable and I will happily refer them to all my friends and family. read more

Amazing! When I was new to Austin I called Service Wizard based on there Yelp reviews, as many others have reported, their service is incomparable. I ultimately had to to replace the A/C at that house and recently moved into a new house with a not so new A/C. With the heat index well over 100 the aging A/C started to struggle so I immediately call Service Wizard. Within a day John was at my house, after inspecting the system he had a recommendation and a cost estimate was emailed to me before he left the house. I knew exactly what I needed and what it was going to cost. The installation was scheduled for just a couple of days later. Andy and Daniel got to my house the morning of the install and are right to work, they are extremely polite and courteous. Taking great care to not make a mess or damage anything moving the new and old equipment in and out of the house. Most importantly when it's almost 100 degrees outside, they were efficient and working quickly. Within a few hours my A/C is back on and I'm relaxing in a cool house! I can't say enough good things about this team, everyone I've talked to or worked with is so nice, great customer service and delivers a high quality product at a good price. Researched for several weeks the manufacturer and installer for a new HVAC system for my residence. Adam with Service Wizard was my first contact with onsite review and cost information for the HVAC replacement. Adam was extremely knowledgeable and provided the step-by-step process from purchase, installation and final quality assurance/control inspection. Adam provided information on Trane, Carrier and Lennox systems. The Lennox SEER 17 provided an excellent balance of initial cost with monthly electric savings, plus qualified for the energy tax credit. Antonio and Anthony were professional and communicated to me throughout the complete installation process of my new Lennox SEER 17 AC/Gas Heat system. They placed cloth runners to protect the wood flooring, very careful and diligent in the placement of the equipment. Post installation provided me a detailed training of what was completed as well as the operation of the HVAC. Moving forward Service Wizard has an excellent warranty and future tune up program. Today enjoying the amazing cold refreshing air and look forward to much lower electric expenses in the future. If you're planning to replace an aging AC/furnace system or worse - an unplanned opportunity forces a decision - include Service Wizard in the estimate roundup. Of four estimates I recently received, Service Wizard's sales rep - Adam - was the best prepared. He knew the products and understood residential infrastructure. He provided an honest evaluation of my current system and duct work; a list of options with recommendations; and lowest prices. Service Wizard's Customer service was excellent before my purchase. It made all the difference after I accepted an estimate. My lack of technical knowledge regarding electronic estimates caused a communication snafu. The system I intended to buy, did not match the model I accepted. That was quickly and amicably resolved. Installers Markus and Christian arrived on-time, were friendly and answered my questions about the new system. Post installation, Markus joined me underneath the house to explain the new furnace. The service was unmatched. I had been dealing with a leak for almost 2 months and another company came out at least 5 times (unannounced) and each time a different tech had a different diagnosis nearly leading to replacing parts on my unit that would of been completely unnecessary. Hugo with service wizard showed up and made a correct diagnosis on the first visit! He only had to come back the next day to access an upstairs neighbors unit that was the culprit since they weren't home at that time. How ever the other company never once attempted to access the upstairs apt or ever got completely under my units small crawl space to correctly diagnose even after I let them know helpful information that obviously pointed to upstairs being the issue. In March 2014 called Service Wizard to do a maintenance check on 15 yr old Arco Air Hvac. Emilio came out (on time and called prior) to check system. He found blower motor had a squeeling bearing that was going out. Also found one of lines was getting plugged at air handler. No pressure to fix. Said the system prob last for 1-2 yrs. Came back following month and replaced blower motor. In hooking up wires to board, it cracked. I asked how much it would cost and he said NOTHING it was his fault. Honest service tech that really made an impact on me. Just installed a new Trane Hvac system Feb 2015. Called John Osgood at Service Wizard and got best price, recommendations, and quality install (thanks Daniel and Andy) Every call I made to Service Wizard was always returned in short order. I called John (owner) at least 12 times prior to install with various questions and every call was returned quickly. I trust Service Wizard totally in service, maintenance, and honesty. Follow up on 08/08: Mark called me and told me that he listened to the phone recordings and he was able to honor the price originally promised by Alex. It's good that they have this system in place that listens for customer complains. Gonna change this to 4 stars due to the small hiccup i experienced in customer service. ----------------------- They used to be good but not any more because they no longer care about customer service. I was promised an estimate of $360 by Alex for a cap replacement, and then the next day no one would honor what he promised, and insisted on charging me $450. When I insisted the original $360 was promised, Susan told me there's no way for that part to be that quoted that low. So I went on Amazon and found the exact part costed $65.66. Sad to say this but after years of working with them, this is going to be the last. read more

I have been a big fan of Charles Osgood's Service Wizard. Charles Osgood and his family have been in the HVAC business for over 30 years. Charles runs a good company. I just spend $2,545 on a new A/Coil unit and the work was well-done but what IO hate about the HVAC industry is set prices with no breakdown of costs of parts and labor. Yes, I know that is the new game in all service industries- plumbing, electric, and HVAC. Quote a set price and do the job and usually the consumer is on the losing end of the deal. Cost of coil units vary but clearly no more than $1,000 retail. So I ended up paying $1500 for an install that took 3 hours - $500 an hour. Not happy about that and my service techs did not sweep or vacuum up the mess they left behind dragging out my old coil unit. Other than that, happy with work. read more

Yesterday we had a service call in Austin by Shane from Service Wizard for an air conditioner that had gone out the night before. Shane's level of awareness and service was exemplary. First he called 10 minutes before his arrival. Much appreciated by a family who had not slept well the night before. He knocked ever so lightly as the sign requested so the dogs would not bark. He was in and out of here with everything working 100% within 30 minutes, yet at the same time whenever he was in conversation with one of us, he was patient, attentive, receptive and kind. I was inspired to write this reviewl because Shane not only provided a high level of service and support, he completed the job successfully and then provided the next level of support very quickly. A false diagnosis from a Service Wizard technician led to me being incorrectly issued a brand new AC system that I did not need. Expected to pay $4500 for an issue that only would've cost a few hundred at the most, I was quite disappointed in my experience with Service Wizard. After some disagreements with the staff, I was called by owner John Osgood who admitted the error, apologized profusely, and offered to either sell me the new AC unit at a hefty discount or return my previous unit in working order and waive all charges. Mr. Osgood's humble response took this from a one-star experience to five. When it comes to big things like this always follow your hunch, know your worth, and get second opinions. I recommend Service Wizard for second opinions. read more

Two years ago, another AC company took one look at our unit and pronounced it dead--DOA, beyond hope, RIP. They said it had to be replaced. Enter Service Wizard, who showed up, gave the unit a thoughtful once-over, and said, "Let's wait until it's actually hot out and see what's really going on." Sensible, magical thinking. Come spring, the wizard returned (robes optional), waved a metaphorical wand, and replaced a single part. Boom--cold air, happy house, and hundreds (maybe thousands) of dollars saved. Fast forward to today: another hiccup, and this time Evan showed up right on time. Once again, no sales pitch, no dramatic diagnoses--just smart, practical advice and solid work. I want to thank the Service Wizard for the great job fixing my AC and a special thanks to KOKE-FM for recommending them. My AC went out on me on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm. I did the normal checks myself, but found that this need the Service Wizard help. I call the number and with in 15min Charles call me back stating he would be at my house with 20mins. He found the problem, temporary bypass the control board so we wouldn't be without cool air. He noticed that the part I needed was under warranty. Service Wizard had the part I need that following Monday, Shane came out installed the part did some checks to insure the entire is working. Service Wizard just replaced our A/C unit. I cannot say how happy I am to have finally found the company with whom I felt totally comfortable to give them my business. John Osgood's estimate was pretty close to what we got with other companies with one big exception: The price was so much more reasonable! The best thing is that he did not try to sell us things we did not need. Both Andres and Daniel worked hard and non-stop to get the new unit installed; these people were very professional and courteous; I was very happy with their work. Second time using service wizard, first time for a freon refill, and today for emergency service. Our AC stopped cooling yesterday afternoon, and this Texas heat wave is no joke. With many like us they are slammed, but they got us scheduled as soon as they could which was next day. We got a call about an hour after making that appointment, saying they had a cancellation today and could come sooner. Within 10 minutes after the tech Terry arrived, he got the problem figured out, a new part replaced, and our AC blowing cold again. We are so thankful for everyone at Service Wizard, from communication and assistance in getting us in ahead of schedule, and for a an affordable cost. 12/10 will use again. read more

To start with, Erik the technician was very knowledgeable and the system he recommended turned out to be just the right one for what we wanted. William and his crew were awesome, very professional and friendly, answered all my questions and explained every step in replacing our HVAC system. And David at office was super nice when we asked for a shorter time to install and finish the job earlier than scheduled for, he sent extra technicians to finish much earlier time than we ask for. I would like to give Service Wizard and John Osgood the very HIGHEST recommendation possible...! They installed our new A/C unit and Heat Pump very professionally, were great every step of the way....then a couple of months later, we had a huge unknown water leak from the second floor that ruined the sheet rock all the way down...The leak turned out to be a clogged A/C drain pipe, and John Osgood came to check it out, then paid for all repairs...even though it may have been a previous problem....An 'old school' Stand-Up guy....wish there were more like him! Several years ago, Airco installed a 3-ton variable-speed system in a house that had previously had a 2-ton unit (and a history of trouble keeping cool). After about a year of operation, our tenants reported mold in the ducts, high humidity, and a short-cycling unit. Our investigation found that the installer, Stuart, had never pulled a permit for the work. I want to be candid: it took a negative Yelp review to get Airco's attention. Jeremy reached out, recommended we upsize the ductwork, offered a very fair price, and agreed to close out the permits. I'm slow to trust, so I got second and third opinions from other HVAC companies -- they confirmed the system size was correct for the house, and that the ductwork should have been upsized at the original install. My own Manual J calculations agreed with Jeremy's. Notably, Jeremy was the only installer I could find who was actually willing to run a Manual J. He also followed through on pulling permits and getting the city inspection scheduled. Airco worked to schedule the new duct installation during the one week we'd be in town -- during peak season, no less -- and their crew moved fast and stayed professional, which I appreciated given how brutal a Texas attic is this time of year. A few days in, the system is no longer short-cycling, and indoor humidity has dropped to about 63%. Still a touch higher than ideal, but we think we can chase the rest of it down -- possibly window seals, possibly fan settings or duct leakage. I was impressed enough that I also used Airco for a plumbing call this week.

I was feeling nervous about finding someone ASAP who would be reliable and wouldn't give me the runaround on price or pushing additional services. And I was already making plans to stay the night at a friend's house for fear I couldn't get anyone to come out on such short notice. Xiaoyu responded to my voicemail in less than five minutes, he was able to come out within a few hours, and fixed my AC within 30 minutes, all by dinner time! On top of all that, his price was reasonable and he was a genuinely kind and friendly guy. I will definitely keep his number handy for next time! :)

Overall we spent ~15k for the unit and install. We haven't gone 30 days without a breakdown yet. Each time it got qc'd, we were told everything was fixed. So far issues have been : - Badly installed drainage leading to water damage - Debris in drain - Refrigerant leak from install - Blown electrical unit. Every root cause was from something done incorrectly during install. We have damaged and unrepaired siding from install, water damaged drywall and paint from the follow on issues. Inspite of these repeated issues from install and failures, each call out for no AC has been treated as if we were calling for the first time and the only proactive communication was for ensuring the city code inspector passed it.
