This place is the absolute worst business I have ever worked with. They over charged me $8 k for 5 hours of work. To leave my 1200 at basement smelling like trash. They show up acting like they are the savior, your in a vulnerable position and they take advantage. Stay away from these clowns. I'm elderly and could not clean up 2 inches on water in my basement, and they totally took advantage and threatened to sue me if I didn't pay them, I don't have the time patience or money. read more

Our lovely 1 year old condo suffered a nasty leak in the kitchen ceiling. We immediately filed a claim with our insurance, and Servicemaster by Simons called us the same night to schedule an appointment the next morning. They arrived promptly, took a quick look at the damage with their infrared camera, and got to work immediately. Within 18 hours after the leak, they were piping air into the ceiling to dry the insulation, sucking moisture from our floors, training fans on affected areas, and had a dehumidifier running. They covered my furniture and mopped up after removing drywall. They had an air filter going as well to suck up small dust particles. We still need to clean a bit more but they took reasonable steps to minimize dust or dirt getting all over the house. They checked on the area over the next few days and were very pleasant to work with. Hopefully we won't have another leak, but if so I'd trust Servicemaster to handle the damage again. read more

I can't recommend this ServiceMaster franchise highly enough! I awoke one morning to find water pouring in through my kitchen ceiling and immediately called my insurance company, who gave me the contact info for another group to call (it was around 6am on Sunday by the way). Although I was able to get ahold of this other company, they refused to come out until the leaking had stopped, which really did me no good. In a panic, I turned to google and called and left a message for this ServiceMaster franchise based on the two positive yelp reviews I saw. Sam, the owner, called me back within about a minute and told me not to worry and that he'd be at my place with his team within two hours.... And he was. Wow! This sort of destructive event in your home can be pretty traumatic and make you feel a bit helpless... Sam has an awesome bedside manner and I could tell from the start that he was a very genuine, good person to work with. He really helped talk me down from freaking out and assured me not to worry and that everything was going to be ok. I believed him and was let down. It turns out he took over this franchise from his parents following a career traveling the world filming rock bands (it was time to settle down I guess). Pretty interesting background and not what I expected! You can tell he grew up around the business though, as he definitely knows his stuff and has all the proper certifications for this type of work. So I gave Sam my key and let him do his thing. Not only did he figure out what was causing the leak (a plumbing issue) and get it stopped ASAP, he finished the repairs much sooner than I expected and did a fantastic job at that! His follow-up and communications were great during the process... Always updating me on the repair progress and texting me pics. He was also extremely fair with me when it came to pricing and was quick to suggest was he thought I might be able to save some money on the repairs, even if it meant not using him for some of them. He also went to bat for me directly with my insurance company when they were being difficult about payment and got the job down on that front as well. When it comes to this type of emergency work, you really need someone who is responsive, trustworthy, competent, and emotionally aware. Sam is all these things and more! My only regret is that I didn't write this review sooner... I had meant to write it several months ago after the event had occurred, but got caught up in other things and spaced on it. Oh well... When something really crappy, unexpected, and totally different happens, you need your hand held by expert technicians who can actually resolve your problem. As a renter, I never ever thought I'd need the type of cleaning that ServiceMaster performs. When I did, they really did come to my rescue. My problem was something completely new to me, and I had no idea where to get help. Long story short -- I took in foster kittens that, unbeknownst to me, were infected with ringworm. This, despite the shelter's supposed guarantee that these animals were 100% healthy and ready to be released into foster care (mine). When the shelter called to say that one of the kittens I'd cared for was sick, I didn't know what to think. When the shelter sent me a list of cleaning instructions that looked like instructions for cleaning up after Ebola, I cried. When I thought more about the situation, I was angry. The shelter agreed to pay for the disinfection and cleaning of my apartment, if I would could find an organization to do the job. A Facebook friend suggested ServiceMaster and you, my fellow Yelpers, led me to this company. Neda was my ServiceMaster contact. From the outset, she was informative, helpful, reassuring, and professional. She told me the details of the cleaning, and she made sure she knew what kind of furniture I had; what types of surfaces there were (as in, carpeting, tile and wood); the areas where the cat had been; and what I should expect from the crew and the cleaning. She told me the job would take 5-6 hours, and that, of course, I would need to be away. She even warmed me not to be upset by the outfits they wore; I never did see them, but she said they look like hazmat suits. Neda and her crew showed up on a Thursday, within the 2-hour window I expected. It was helpful, and appreciated, that she called to say, we're on our way and will be there in 20 minutes. (They were, too). When she arrived, she toured the apartment with me showing her where the cleaning had to be done, and areas where it didn't. The closets, for example, didn't need to be cleaned, because I had kept the doors closed and never let the cats in there. Four hours later, Neda called to say they were done. I was surprised -- done already? She said that the job normally takes 4 hours, but that they like to give the client a slightly longer time in case they run into a problem. She told me to leave the overhead fans on and the windows open, since the carpets were still slightly damp. I was very anxious to go home and see the result. Not only did ServiceMaster guarantee that neither I, my visitors, or any living thing is in any danger from the ringworm virus, but they did an amazing cleaning job. The floors look better than ever. The bathroom tiles and appliances look brand new. The stainless steel gleams. They wiped down the stove better than I ever did, and trust me, I work hard to keep that stove clean. They pulled the stove out and cleaned underneath it, and I can tell you, the cat never got there. ServiceMaster went above and beyond. I'm not exaggerating when I say this place is spotless. Today I showed my sweet, elderly landlord the apartment. He walked in and said, "Oh my goodness, look at those floors!" He was VERY impressed. I'm glad he was pleased, not just because he is the landlord, but because he is a dear man who's been very good to me. I wouldn't wish this ringworm nightmare on anybody. But if, God forbid, it happens to you, call ServiceMaster, They will take good care of you. If all you need is a thorough clean-up, call ServiceMaster. Such nice, personable. flexible, and capable people! I was having a Gold Coast condo cleaned for a relative and could not give Neda specific details as to where to park, where loading dock was, etc., and she totally "let me off the hook", by telling me not to worry, they'd figure it out and that they needed to do that all the time. Figure it out they did, and showed up at the exact time anticipated. Unit was pretty dirty, incredibly dusty with cat hair all over black granite floors. My jaw dropped to the floor when I walked in when they were finishing up. Sparkled. I did decide to "white glove it" since they are priced pretty high and didn't want any grief from my relative. I touched everything and they even sent someone around with me to "handle" whatever I found. There were antique African masks hung and they didn't dust them out of caution. When I said please do, they immediately did them. Believe me, you will find every nickle, dime, penny and quarter that they find on the floor, bottom of washing machine, wherever, stacked up neatly waiting for you! I know I found coins on the washing machine, bathroom counters, coffee tables, etc. Now that's integrity. So grateful to have no communication problems either! read more

So disappointed! We have used ServiceMaster before, but never had service like this. Hired for post-flood mitigation. Gave 2 hours, said they couldn't pull up carpet because it was glued down, did no wall treatment. Spent $3400 to have residual water sucked up and some disinfectant sprayed. When I expressed concern about other tasks, I was told they had to hurry to next job. Owner at my house yelling at me in my own living room when I expressed concern for a rushed, incomplete job. My allergies kept getting worse and worse until finally I had to find another home for my beloved cat. I Googled "Ridding your house of cat dander" and discovered the task would require a huge cleaning job which entailed shampooing carpets and furniture and washing every inch of wall, ceiling, and counter space. She informed me that her company did both restoration and cleaning and agreed to come out the next day to give me an estimate on our large house. As we walked through the premises, I could tell she understood what needed to be done. She said her crew was available to put in 1 1/2 day's work at the end of the week. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the outcome. The crew was competent and thorough, and Sue Simon worked with them much of the time. I highly recommend this company. My work takes me abroad for extended periods of time. My BFF called me long distance one day to tell me that the neighbors in the flat above had a major break in a water pipe, which, as gravity would have it, all came down in my apartment. Most of all the items in my living and dining room were thoroughly soaked, including my photography, valuable art pieces, oriental rugs, furniture, as well as my newly installed oak floors. A couple of company's were contacted and messages were left with the answering services. My insurance recommended ServiceMaster By Simons. I contacted them and a person picked up the phone on the first ring. That person was Sam Simon. I was half a world away, at least three time zones. I had my work to get back to and panicking had no place in my day. He listened to me, gathered information and then he did exactly what I needed most....he eased my mind. He assured me that everything would be okay, he assured me that he would do everything in his power to save my photography and my artwork. He assured me that when I returned home, it would be exactly as I'd left it. Assurances. He kept his promise. I got to know Sam a bit from our conversations on the phone. Intriguing that prior to ServiceMaster By Simons he'd had a long career as a television producer. Even more intriguing that before that, he was a Social Worker in Illinois. Intriguing and completely understandable. He managed the groups of people working on my home like a film or television producer would and he cared for my welfare like a social worker would. Some hybrid Sam is. Fast forward a few weeks and I returned home. My floors were intact. They didn't need to be replaced because ServiceMaster By Simons saved them using their special drying machines. My furniture was all dry and clean. Sam and his crews put all my walls and ceilings back up and freshly painted them. The only thing missing was my photography and art pieces, but that was because the restoration process was not yet completed. I'm very happy with Sam and his guys (by the way, Sam's crews are the nicest gentlemen you'll want in your home.) I am grateful to you. Called to have my house cleaned for preparation for sale. They said I had to have an estimate appointment. I made it for Monday morning at 9:30. Monday morning at 9:30 I have a call from someone saying they can't make it. And no cleanings are available anyway. Total waste of time and awful customer service. read more

When I called the office with a water leak problem they were very professional and helpful. They sent their manager to check the problem out the same day as I had requested and were suppose to call me back immediately after they assessed the job. After waiting for several hours when I called them back they said they were not going to do the job. I just wished they would have called me right away if they did not want to do this project. There is water damage that needs to be taken care of right away. They also told me that they do a complete restoration and install. When I spoke to them again, they said they don't do that. I hired ServiceMaster to clean one couch, one recliner, one padded chair, and two couch pillows that hadn't been cleaned in about 2years and we have two dogs that shed like there is not tomorrow. Today was the third time I hired the "By Simons" group. The techs are friendly and honest. For example, they will tell you whether they can get a stain out or not. Request additional quotes for services before approving Service Master DSI to begin work in your home or business. I recently approved Service Master DSI to remediate water damage in my home's basement. The process was smooth at first when I was speaking to the customer representative before I approved the remediation process begin. Service Master DSI began water remediation by removing drywall and placing fans on the floor. However, when mold was found, all work had to end until mold remediation would begin. I was ensured three times the procedures Service Master DSI were taking would resolve my mold issue and work resumed shortly thereafter. Service Master DSI does not test for mold - this led me to hire a third party to test the air quality in my basement. The test came back positive for three molds and the technician of the third party advised me not to live in my house due to the poor sanitation process performed by Service Master. I contacted Service Master DSI and air scrubbers were placed to clean the air. The third party mold company came back out to retest the air and advised we not retest due to the poor sanitation process performed by Service Master DSI. The walls and floors were not sanitized and this leads to future mold growth. I was shocked to see this since I was ensured multiple times my basement would be "fine" and "ready to use". Service Master DSI gave me the "ring around" and performed inadequate work, but charged me a lot of money for their poor service. I have attempted to communicate with the representative but those efforts did not lead to an amicable agreement. Think twice or three times before hiring Service Master DSI, my experience has left me frustrated and disappointed in their effort. Looking back, I should have hired the third party mold company.
