Now that work for repair of water damage is underway the excellent service by Service Masters is made even more evident. The contractors who have come out have said that "whoever did the mediation/extraction work for the walls did and very CLEAN job when trimming the damaged areas and removing the fiberglass insulation." Furthermore, they didn't leave any marks on the ceilings where the containment unit was stapled to block the area out. Something you would only notice AFTER the containment is removed. After the heavy rains of early January I called Service Master of San Francisco for help with water damage remediation in the staff office area of our business. SM SF was backed up likely for months, and suggested I call Service Master of Concord. I did, and was immediately assisted. While they were also completely booked in the immediate, we were placed in a queue for a site visit likely in two weeks. During that time I received a few call-backs with updates, and a time slot became available exactly two weeks after my initial call. When I met with Hector as our onsite inspector, his level of knowledge, professionalism, and expertise was impressive and well seasoned from years of experience. His plan for addressing our problem was clearly laid out, clearly communicated, and within a day we received a Scope of Work estimate. Once signed, the work began almost immediately. We needed to coordinate moving of office and cubicle furniture to off-site storage. Service Master provided this service as well under a separate contract. Again, the level of professionalism, diligence, and speed with a significant pack-up and load-out, was impressive, and completed within a day. Within days of signing the contract the coordination between load-out and remediation teams was impressive. The day after load-out of all items, the remediation team arrived, on-time, fully aware of the scope of work, and fully prepared with the proper equipment. Communications from the project manager, Hector, were always timely, clear, personable, and detailed. There was nothing uncertain or vague about the plan and procedures. Every staff person was personable, eager, hard-working, focused, and knew exactly what they were to do. Within the projected time frame we were notified they would be arriving to pick-up all equipment and do a final clean and check. Like clockwork, that is exactly what happened. What could have been a significantly complicated situation of scheduling, unclear communications, coordination of multiple parties, and a project with many unknown variables, was handled in the best manner possible. I cannot more highly recommend Service Master of Concord, and specifically Hector, Ryan, Jose, and Cathy for every single aspect of work entailed in this remediation project. They were the peace and comfort in what could otherwise have been a major headache of a problem. read more

We didn't end up using their services, but wanted to give Diego a big shout out. We had a water leak at our home and another company did the job but couldn't finish, doing a crappy job at best. Basically, I had 3 other companies saying the original company left without completing the project. He was very patient and informative, teaching me the basics. Diego came out and assessed the situation. He could've taken the job, but was really honest and said that we deserved better from the other company, since we paid so much. He even guided me on what to say and what questions to ask the original company. Long story short, our insurance took care of everything. But... if anything ever like this happens again, I surely would call out to Service Master and ask for Diego to do the job. read more

Diane and her estimators were great! Very friendly, understanding and sensitive to the tenant's hoarding situation. The estimators came out the day after contacting ServiceMaster Restore and although we weren't able to complete the inspection and finalize the estimate due to the tenant's hesitation and anxiety about having to vacate the resident very soon, Diane was very understanding of the circumstances. Be cautious. When these folks came in after a residential fire, there was no estimate and they started pulling the house apart. The 'remediation' was far more extensive than the fire damage. Then it was almost impossible to get my insurance company to pay for the reconstruction. At the end of the job, we got another invoice for services that were never contracted for. A real learning experience that when you are in a stressful situation, stop and think. And ask for firm, written estimates. I don't want to think they take advantage of people going through hard times, but it may feel that way. read more

I have been helping a friend work through a flood. Service Master has neglected almost every request for action and information even though an insurance company has approved and paid for some work. Their personnel have been unresponsive as we moved through abatement, an undocumented packout and into renovation which has not started. Example: SM has not provided an agreement on the packout nor any details inluding where the personal items are located. I'd like a call from whoever manages the Concord operation. read more

Was not present upon this crew arrival to address a plumbing problem in the unit. 4 days later upon my return, I realized that a chain worth over $700.00 had been stolen. The company told me to file a police report, which I've done. Over a month later, still no communication. Blatant disrespect, disregard and neglect was all they offered. Then I offered to pay for a polygraph test, being of a minority race, just to validate this claim, but request denied. I've had to involve the BBB, Attorney General and Consumer Affairs. If I could give less than a star I would. ServiceMaster contracted Minimobile to put a pod in my driveway when I had flood damage in my house. When the work was finally done it two weeks for ServiceMaster and Minimobile to finally remove the empty pod from my driveway. When the pod was removed there was a crack in the driveway that was caused by the weight of the pod on the concrete. After contacting ServiceMaster about the company that they hired to put the pod in the driveway, they have told me to pay their bill and take up the problem with Minimobil instead of coming up with an equitable solution. Meanwhile they are threatening me with court, a lien on my house, and garnishing my wages for the payment of $2500. I would not use ServiceMaster in the future. read more

We had some pretty major water damage due to a slab leak. David Huerta from Service Master Restoration took such good care of our situation. He explained everything clearly, he disinfected the mold for our safety (even though insurance wouldn't cover it!), gave us a discounted price on the cost of cleaning our rug (another thing the insurance wouldn't cover!), and just handled everything so professionally. Our sprinkler pipe that is right next to our bedroom wall burst while we were away and because it is next to a retaining wall there was nowhere to go but through the wall and up to the concrete slab. The water found its way through the wall-to-wall carpet and pad. Service Master came right out and got rid of the moisture, removed the baseboards and any mold that started sealed the boards after they dried, and even had an environmental expert certify the area as safe and mold-free. I registered for the seminar which was a Wed/Thurs. Got here and find out it's Thurs/Fri. I felt that this place had a duty to update their schedules. I drove 4 hours to get there. There was a lack of communication on their part. As for Service Master's services offered, they have done a good job for our HOA's in the past. I haven't had many hiccups for the communities. Customer service is lacking though but the techs are pretty knowledgeable. If you ever need mold mitigation or some water restorative services, they are always open and will respond to ER calls. read more
