If my Insurance company can give me the service that Alan did from Service Masters, the world would be a much better place. I came home from work late one night only to find a strange sound coming from the next room. Did I leave something on before I left to work? Since it has been warm lately and I own a couple of high velocity fans, I thought maybe, but it was louder than usual. So I walked around the corner only to find a massive puddle of water in the hallway, bathroom and bedroom... and the bathroom sink supply line ruptured and going full blast. I reached into the vanity cabinet searching for a shut off valve, praying it wasn't in the wall. I lucked out and got the shut off valve closed. Clean up time consisted of a bunch of towels, a shop Vac and my carpet steamer. That took a about 4 hour. I called the insurance company in the morning from work, and they advised calling Service Masters. Since there was water still trapped in the carpet padding. The squishing sound only confirmed that when I got home. I called Service Masters and had a tech in the house within the hour. That was fast... Alan showed up and walked me thru what was going to happen. Had me sign some paperwork to give him permission to start the job. He reassured me that they would keep my insurance company in the loop, but the best part I found was that he worked around my schedule since I'm a working stiff and can't exactly miss too much work. I must give many props for that alone. He set up the equipment and gave me instructions on what to do if something happened with the equipment, left his card in case of an extreme emergency. Now if you've never done this before it's a process, water doesn't dry out overnight in walls, floors, cabinets, crawl spaces and pier foundations . The equipment is large, powerful, creates a lot of heat. and did I say loud. (The insurance company did offer to pay for a room while the work was being done, but I didn't want to board my Bulldog ,so we stayed in the house.) Let's just say it's like living with a jet engine, in my case for five days. the alternative is to take a risk with MOLD! Alan checked in on me daily, checked and adjusted the equipment. He answered my questions. He advised me on what should happen next, so I called my insurance adjuster to confirm, left a VM and guess what ...No answer. Great communication with your customers...? well I didn't have that problem with Servicemasters they were very responsive. Thanks Alan. Now I would never wish this on anyone but if you need to call someone for water damage I would highly recommend Servicemasters. read more

Once Frank, the Project Manager from Service Master began his investigation, what appeared to be a leak in a contained area apparently had expanded.He took time to explain how water damage expands. From the moment he and his team showed up, I have been kept in the loop on all levels including damage remediation and applicable time frames. Although there was a team working here, their presence was not intrusive. More importantly, they seemed to appreciate the team feeling created by Frank. Frank was clear in explaining the process and alieviated any concern that I expressed. He stayed in communication with my insurance company representative and was highly respectful to my family member who kept dropping in to get updates. I expected this to be a tolerable situation at best, but it really did become a positive situation. I highly recommend ServiceMaster. The team was diligent, Frank communicated and accommodated the plumber and others who needed access to the project. This review is for the water drying part of the company only. I worked with Josh to help dry out a very unfortunate leak in my condo. This is David and I wanted to say that Josh was spectacularly good. He was extremely knowledgeable and genuinely cared about doing things the right way. He was patient with all of my questions and always returned my calls ( even on Sundays when he was off work ). If you are looking for a careful, and experienced guy Josh is highly recommended. Here is an example of how nice and good at his job he was: I had really nice custom cabinets in the area affected. The first company says lets rip them out and demo it all. Josh comes in places a humidifier and says lets call in a furniture specialist to remove them carefully and we can save them. We saved them and I really liked how he was calm and answered all my questions. Josh made a tough situation a little better. As I told him, too bad he is not on the reconstruction side of the company as well. read more

In June my upstairs neighbor had a plubming problem that flooded my apartment - there were actually six of us with water damage. Service Master was there right away to rip out the floors and dry out our units to prevent mold and further damage. It took about two months to get the insurance company to agree to the estimates so that the work could begin, but once that happened, Service Master was ready to work, annd got the job done quickly. They carefully packed up all my belongings and stored them, repaired drywall and moldings, replace the flooring, painted, and put everything back in it's place. James, Scott, and Francesco were my contacts for the dryout and, pack-out and repair work. They communicated every step of the way, and were very friendly and professional. Daniel Conklin and his crew were speedy, efficient and extremely proffesional in my time of chaos. They brought in fans and dehumidifiers to get everything dried out, and had started reparing the damages, and had the situation under control within a few hours. My home is in Windsor, and after the fires nearby there was lots of smoke on our walls, floors, and furniture, which is why we got this service. They showed up right on time, and were extremely friendly and informative about what every piece of equipment did and what exactly they were going to clean. When I made small requests to pay extra attention to some areas, they really took that into account. My home smells wonderful now, the floors are spotless and any smoke residue is definitely gone. To whom it may concern, The guys from the Lemon Grove location ( especially Steven Wang ), go above and beyond to not only make sure you understand whats going on in your home, but to keep you as comfortable as possible. I never thought I'd be happy to have a fire, but we had a fire in our office and the sprinklers went off so we had a FLOOD, too! It's amazing how much damage can be done with one over-toasted piece of bread! So we had ServiceMaster Absolute come out and they cleaned up the fire and somehow sucked out the smoke smell. And then they drained the water from the over-head sprinklers, cleaned carpets and dried out the walls. It was a mess and they cleaned up everything. I called ServiceMaster Absolute, based in Lemon Grove, when I had a terrible experience with a bad carpet cleaner. I thought I had mold damage after a bad cleaning. The carpet guy didn't get enough water out of the carpet and that made it stink, stink, stink! After a week of windows open and fans going, I called ServiceMaster Absolute and they sent over a nice young man who had a series of tools to test the mold content in several rooms.
