Would not recommend spending one penny, with this company, extremely rude, unprofessional, and they take advantage of the elderly

They showed up the following day and did an outstanding job removing all damaged floors, wood and drywall, making it easier for the adjuster to evaluate the scope of the damage. They set up fans and dehumidifiers To prevent mold from forming and the damage from becoming worse. They were quick, careful with our stuff and cleaned up after themselves extremely well once they were finished. Three months later when the repairs were finished with, our insurance called them back to do a post-renovation cleaning. Holy smokes, this place has never looked so good! They cleaned everything--even the insides of cabinets and closets, windows and all surfaces, and even organized and sorted stuff out as they went along. There were absolutely no issues, nothing was lost or broken and they even kept track of our two cats so that they wouldn't wander off. I would highly recommend them for those big cleaning jobs even if you don't have a disaster to take care of. Thanks to Amanda and her crew for an awesome and professional job!

He kept in contact with me through that process to ensure we were on the same page and he could start as soon as I got everything in order. Brandon and the guys arranged to start on a day that worked for me, starting at around 9am to sunset everyday until both projects were done. They were profession and courteous through the whole job, only leaving behind sawdust in the grass. Great group of guys. I later had them come back to replace an 8x12 section of subfloor, main door to the house and floor tiles for the kitchen/entry way. Same experience as the first job. I have them scheduled again for this spring to renovate two bathrooms and replace some windows. Apex Construction is one of the best representations of a Maine local business I've seen in a long time. You'll end up keeping their phone number in your contacts for your next construction project, for sure. The lead man walked me thru my home to show me what they have done and asked me to sign off. I did sign off for what was done but in no way the job was complete. After they left I contacted the Manager because I never met nor did the project manager ever come to my home. I told him i did not want that cleaning team in my home and wanted to discuss the estimate. The following day a new team showed up at my home. I did not let them in stating I was waiting for their manager. The manager came in kind of defensive requesting to see what wasn't done. I walked him thru a couple of spots and wanted to discuss the estimate and diffrent line items. As i questioned him he continued getting more defensive. I asked him a simple question about the process of cleaning a bathroom fan for soot damage. He stated he did not know. He no longer wanted to discuss the estimate or line items. He then stated he wanted to make it right. At this point after the first crew and his lack of knowledge on how things were going to be done I would not let his crews back into my home. At this point he stated if his crew leaves his hands were tied. He didn't want to discuss the estimate where I saw a couple of items also double billed. As he walked out the door he stated he was going to send the bill to collections. Bulling tactics, lack of knowledge of how the cleaning process works and unwillingness to discuss the estimate and line items Do not ever use them. If you are still willing to work with them carefully look at the estimate and question every line.

Their business model is to rack up as much sub-contracted work as possible, assuming that insurance will pay. Insurance often *does* cover their services, but the services are nearly useless in terms of value. They scurried around in the days following the fire boxing up contents of my home that were destroyed and had no hope to be repaired--more than $2,000 worth of work to box up a small number of items I never got back because they didn't make any sense to try and save in the first place. Within days, they'd sub-contracted out to a dozen different vendors, nearly none of whom are local. Their network is like an octopus with tentacles all over--they ship stuff all over the country, and then different vendors follow up with you for over-the-top charges for months on end. Their customer service is reprehensible, and they are extremely aggressive. It's been a nightmare from the beginning. I am somebody who's always paid my bills on time, have excellent credit, etc. and they are going after me with attorney's fees, 18% interest charges, and bullying tactics. If I had the time/money/capacity to sue them, I would. I've paid them nearly $10,000 worth of work that has provided zero value to me. Do anything you can to avoid working with them after a fire. I'm happy to talk more about my experience if you private message me to learn more.

We had a very quick response from our insurance company and the contact person from Servpro of Augusta/Waterville area. In my initial conversation with Servpro we talked about the need for a quick and thorough demolition/tearout of the inside of our house. He agreed. Demo team showed up promptly as they were supposed to and started the tearout. This was a contracted crew that were not Servpro employees. They started on Monday, worked Tuesday and missed the rest of the week due to previous commitment on a different type of job. (snow plowing) Sad to say we were not very happy with Servpro. Starting the next week they showed up off and on due to the snow plowing job commitment. As they worked on our house my wife and I had questions for the boss/owner of this crew. He promptly developed an attitude and wouldn't answer the questions. When I called Servpro shortly after I was told by Servpro that they would deal with the issues we had with the owner. Thankfully that was the last we saw of him. The next demo crew to arrive were employees of Servpro and much more professional to deal with. Very hard and considerate workers that knew what had to be done and did it. As my wife and I watched the demo proceed we naturally asked questions about what they were doing and what was to be done next. We were just trying to understand the whole process and figure out what was next. So after questioning the crew I had a phone call from the boss of Servpro of Augusta/Waterville Me. telling me to refer all questions to him and not question his crew doing the work in OUR house. Well guess what, it's our house and i'll question whoever I want in OUR HOUSE. This demo took longer then we ever expected and not knowing what to expect we were very frustrated. The Servpro workers kept on task and did as they were supposed to. This demo along with the smoke and water mitigation took about two plus months to complete. After the demo the crew moved to our basement where a lot of our contents were stored and started to meticulously clean everything down there including all floor trusses, wiring, plumbing, stairs, floors and contents that had been boxed up and moved to the basement. Many thanks to Travis, Ed and Allison. Great Job! I would give the Servpro workers five stars, their boss about 2.5 Things to expect and questions to ask of Servpro. When can your crew start and are they dedicated to your house until the job is done? If you live in a rural area like we do expect that travel time from Augusta/Waterville area to your house and back will shorten the amount of time the workers actually spend working in your house each day. After having damage from fire or water, expect more damage from the tearout. Was not happy about that at all. Expect a few things to get broken as they clean glass or fragile pieces while handling hundreds of items. ( our crew was very upfront about broken items) The broken items were not a big deal in our opinion. In our opinion expect the Servpro employees to be professional as they do their work. It's your house you should ask any questions to the workers that you want but I believe they have been told to tell you to ask their boss. Servpro has a new owner who just called us and asked our opinion on his new company. We had a very candid conversation about the positive and negative experiences we had while dealing with Servpro. He asked if I would use his company again if needed and my answer was yes but only after asking many questions and getting the right answers. They did many things right and a few things could of been done better. I believe after talking to the new owner he will fix the issues we talked about. Marty
