Unfortunately I needed ServPro's services on two occasions, when a 90 foot tree fell on my house, and again when a tiny tube leaking water from my fridge destroyed an entire wall and the floor of the room below it. In both cases, I could not have been happier with the treatment I received from Jared and Shawn. There is always lots of back and forth in these situations and I never felt that I was being put off or ignored. It's understandable that things don't happen overnight and that some of the work being done by contractors isn't always as perfect as you the homeowner would have it. Whenever I had an issue it was a great stress reducer to know that if I called Jared he would get back to me promptly and make it right, on one occasion calling in a different contractor to completely redo a paint job that was substandard. After a flood in my home as the result of the lock failing on my walk in tub I immediately contacted Servpro to help with the cleanup. They responded very quickly and over the next few days removed the affected flooring and set up equipment to dry the lower portion of the drywall. The crew was very pleasant and did a great job. Their quality of work is terrible, they are unprofessional and when they cause damage to your property they give you the run around. Their corporate office does nothing to help with complaints when you file them. We are currently pursuing legal action against them for damage to a antique family heirloom. We had a fire on July 27. 2020 our house had so much fire and water, smoke damage.. we requested Servpro and so happy we did....they came in took all furniture, clothing out had all cleaned and stored it while the reconstruction was done...They guided us every step of the way, and the insurance company was very good about working with them.....Jarad and Shawn were the truly life savers, we were displaced for 8 months in a rental home, our home is finished, looks beautiful all clothing back furniture back and Jarad and Shawn made sure all was completed in a timely fashion. I was housesitting for a colleague and had a sump pump failure, resulting in a basement flood. The local plumber recommended that we use SERVPRO for any water cleanup. They lied about their location, tore out vinyl floor, and overcharged the owner. Disgraceful service and nothing but bullshit answers to questions no one asked. read more

Feeling gratitude this day before Thanksgiving as I wait for a crew from Servpro to begin the restoration of parts of my walls and my molding in rooms of my downstairs after my water heater sprung a leak and flooded the rooms I had redecorated right after I retired in 2015. I have been well taken care of by Wendall Washington of Southern Tier Pump, Tony Milkovitch of ACM Appliance, Servpro ( especially Mike Weeks), Joshua Graupman from NYCM Insurance and Ansel Ammerman at Endwell Rug. I think everything here should be back to normal by Dec 1st. It could have been so much worse... this could have happened while I was on vacation or away for a weekend.... the damage then would have been awful. I had a very good experience with Servpro staff and those the contracted with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. I just hope I never need them to clean up another disaster at my house. Short version: This company caused over $4000 of damage to my house through their ineptitude. Long version: My sump pump failed while I was traveling in Europe, so I called Servpro to clean up for the people sitting my house. The problems I experienced with their service, starting with the worst: 1. The company ripped out a VINYL floor covering and THREW IT AWAY, claiming it was damaged and unsalvageable. This is completely false. Water does not damage vinyl, which is why it is used in basements. It will cost me over $4000 to replace this floor covering for absolutely no reason. This is appalling. 2. To rip out the floor covering, the company had to move an exercise bike. They tried to drag the bike by the vinyl mat upon which it sat, thereby ripping the mat. Another $75 out the window. 3. When I called them, the very first thing that I asked was, "Are you located in Ithaca," to which they answered "yes." This was a complete lie. They are located in Binghamton, not Ithaca. 4. Their prices change depending on whether insurance is paying or the customer. This is why insurance prices increase. I have tried to contact the people involved at Servpro, but every time I call, they are "not available." Summary: This cleanup cost me $4000 for Servpro and over $4000 to repair the damage done by Servpro. There is no way I would use this service again. read more

Avoid Servpro at all costs. While they will seem friendly and eager to help, as soon as you sign a contract with them, they will disappear. Servpro was recommended through my insurance company, USAA, when my house flooded in the first week of January. Five months of living in a hotel later, and my house still isn't repaired. The most important thing to understand about Servpro is that they are not contractors--they have no expertise in any aspect of the actual repairs/construction/remodeling of your home. All of their "work" will be sub-contracted out to local or regional contractors and vendors. Servpro has no general contracting or management experience in coordinating multiple, independent teams. This means that the team tasked with mitigation isn't coordinated with the team tasked with flooring, neither team is coordinated with plumbers or carpenters or roofers. The wrong materials will be ordered in the wrong quantities. When you try to ask Servpro about the status of your home, you cannot expect a reliable answer with any speed. I have spent weeks waiting on communication from Servpro with no feedback about the progress of the work on my home. Servpro's negligence extends far beyond their incompetence in managing the project. In my case, the entire first floor of my home was destroyed. Flooring, drywall, kitchen, bathrooms all needed to be completely redone. I selected most of the replacement materials from Lowe's, which is where problems began and red flags were first raised. Servpro insisted on paying for all the materials , which would have been fine, except that Lowe's kept calling me as Servpro's credit cards were continuously declined. Servpro then went behind my back and told Lowe's to stop copying me on emails, stating that I did not want to be bothered with the details of the project. I would not discover until 5 months later that no fewer than a dozen individual employees at Servpro would be calling in to use their personal credit cards to cover purchases. Lowes would reveal that the Servpro company credit cards almost never worked. To make matters worse, Servpro would order the wrong parts or wrong quantities or fail to order parts at all. 5 months later, and I am just discovering that the carpeting was never ordered, the backsplash was never ordered, the transitions for the flooring were never ordered, and so many other "little" things were never ordered. Meanwhile, I have stacks of glues and tiles and miscellaneous parts that I will have to return. If the management of materials was horrific, the mitigation of the original flooding was even worse. The cause of the flooding was a series of pipes that froze and burst in the first, brutal cold of January 2018. Servpro did not correctly fix the pipes and all of the associated plumbing issues until late March--and Servpro would not have done this if I did not regularly visit the house to inspect the state of repairs. This resulted in thousands of dollars in extra plumbing costs as leak after new leak was discovered as the weather began to warm. The flooring had to be removed, but the mitigation team did not remove the glue affixing the floor to the concrete--this would prevent the new flooring from being correctly glued down months later. Servpro teams did not check the breakers when connecting the air handlers which were positioned to dry the floors and walls. Over half of the fans placed throughout the house were not running for more than a week as the breakers had tripped--and no one came by to check to ensure that the fans were running. The mitigation crew trashed everything without regard to my instructions and without thought to future repairs. A brand new faucet for the kitchen sink was just thrown away. The microwave over the range with the ventilation fan was just ripped out, leaving it completely unusable. Doorstops were thrown away; kitchen cabinet handles were thrown away; the list goes on and on. The drivers for the mitigation team repeatedly drove through my lawn, leaving huge pits/tracks in the front yard. When they actually show up, Servpro has mismanaged the project in every way imaginable. Servpro promised that mitigation would be completed by the end of January, but mitigation didn't begin until nearly the end of January. Servpro promised that the flooring would be done by February 23, but work didn't begin until March. It is not unusual for 2-3 weeks to go by with no work done, no communication from Servpro. Servpro promised that my house would be livable by April 20. Three weeks later, Servpro informed the insurance company that we were ready to move back into the house and we checked out of the hotel. I arrived home to discover that whole portions of the flooring were missing; nothing had been unpacked into the bedrooms; there was no stove or refrigerator connected; painting and touchups still remained unfinished. Avoid Servpro at all costs. Never do business with them under any conditions. read more

Jason and everyone at ServPro did a phenomenal job at a recent apartment bldg water break. They responded immediately late in the evening and stayed till early morning, evacuated the water, dried the entire basement with multiple units of equipment, and hauled all the debre...like it never really happened - just like the commercial. So glad I called these professionals. Also fantastic job by Duane Dennison and Dave of Twin Rivers Plumbing immediately removing and replacing 6 washers and dryers/ 3 hot water heaters and furnace in less than two days...also great to work with, honest, professional and caring. We are lucky to have these two companies servicing our area. Nice Job Guys !!! read more
