I do suggest ordering a clay pot entree as it is part of their namesake. The clay pot was hot enough that there was a crispy, scorched layer of rice to snack on. I actually enjoy eating that crispy rice and appreciate a restaurant preparing this dish correctly. I also liked the ambiance of the restaurant. There was a slide show on both walls of the restaurant that made for a captivating and unique experience.

The beef was very tender and the sauce tasted so good. All the vegetables made the dish so refreshing. I also put the vermicelli in the beef dish so that it could soak up all that sauce. They serve a special type of beef hot pot called ChaoShan Hot Pot (潮汕火鍋) - every part of beef are carefully sliced to allow eaters to enjoy each part of the beef to its fullest. I was at the restaurant during weekday mid afternoon. It was a bit quiet as we are recovering through COVID. The servers are very enthusiastic and have great knowledge about their beef. I ordered a combo to start as it provides me with sample platter of all common beef cuts. The services were very quick. Within minutes, I am served with a clear beef bone soup for hot pot, vegetables, beef balls, tendon, and different cuts of beef in hot pot slices. The cut mainly consists of sirloin, flank, cheek, shank, chuck, rump, and tongue. I can assure you, every bite takes you to a whole new adventure! Starting from the flank, this is the piece where one side is fat and the other is the meat layer. But don't let the layer of fat hold you back, the flavour is smooth yet the soft texture of beef is present. Next is the cheek, this is a prized piece with a soft tender chew, which makes it my favourite piece. The shank consist of two parts- fore shank and hind shank. They are both as good, but I personally prefer the hind shank because it has a softer texture than the fore shank. The chuck has three parts - chuck, chuck rib, and chuck flap. The texture of chuck flap and chuck might have a bit of a chew due to the tendon, but the way it is sliced thinly makes it a delightful cut to enjoy. There are other cuts of beef which I wont explain and will leave it for you to discover. This is a decent portion and a great opportunity for you to try all the different cuts. I highly recommend this place to others. It might be a bit pricey as all dishes are a la carte or combo. But the fact that their beef are fresh daily and never frozen. They maintain the quality standard of meat and you will likely get addicted to it. At least I am!

For a first course (and appetizer), Linda had a Tom Kha Gai soup, small, which is chicken and mushrooms in coconut milk with herbs and Thai ginger. She didn't want to share with me, but told me how absolutely delicious it was. Full of flavours, nuanced and layered. In a soup! I had the Tom Yum Goong, small, which a Thai creamy style hot and sour soup with prawns and mushrooms. The mild, delicious Enoki mushrooms, sometimes called golden needle mushrooms, were an exciting addition to this wonderful soup. Hands down, this was the best Tom Yum Goong I've tasted since my friend Mai's restaurant in Oakville back in 1997. Dinner for Linda was a Green Curry. Of course! She'll order a green curry anywhere we go, anytime! Served with zucchini, broccoli and green beans, she said it was one of the best she's ever had. Strong layered flavours. For those who love curry (like Linda), she said this is the best anywhere. I had the Chu Chi Basa, which is a basa fillet (lots, actually) drizzled with a rich red curry sauce, and served on a bed of exceptional raw young spinach. This was absolutely delicious. All the distinct flavours were present and identifiable. The fish was delicious, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside.
