Stopped in for a quick beer and bite before a show at The Pageant. Very nice server seated us promptly and brought us waters. Beer menu was only available on an aggravating rotating television menu that did not stay on a screen long enough to read and took forever to cycle around. Mix that with the fact that they were out of my first 2 draft options (but still on the TV menu) and made it a time consuming beer ordering process. Order a couple of tacos and they came quickly and both options were tasty. Felt they were a little pricey for their size, but still delicious. Music was a little loud which made it hard to talk and hear the server.

I came a cross this trendy gem while visiting, The Loop. The minute you walk in, a hostess was ready to seat you. A server was ready to take your order, but since it was my first visit, the server was helpful and I was able to order. The wait time was rather fast, and suddenly I'm biting into the freshest and spicy hot tacos. I also had their Margarita that paired well with the tacos. The ambience was warm, inviting, and pretty hip for a taco joint. Check them out next time you visit, The Loop, it's worth it!

went last night for their new late night happy hour. we got there around 9:25 and the servers were still eager to seat us and put our food in despite closing at 10. i asked about the late night happy hour which for drinks seemed to just be $3 shots and canned beers. i got french fries and pina colada and my bf got some tacos. the french fries were really really good they had a certain spice to them. as i kept eating them my mouth ended up being on fire. and not sure what the sauce was but it was super good as well. the chips were a mixture of stale and OK to eat. for anyone not familiar with the delmar loop area: it is street parking. as a girl i wouldn't go here by myself at this hour of the night. walking to the restaurant my boyfriend and i passed multiple sketch things resulting in him walking back to the car alone to come pick me up when we were finished. this street is also VERY poorly lit for how many popular attractions and shops are here

One of my favorite taco spots and a must visit whenever I'm in St. Louis. They have a wide range of options (including vegetarian) and have tacos on both corn and flour shells. I always get their chips and either salsa / guac to start and then a few tacos (ranging from 3 to 5 depending on how hungry I am - though I did get a weird look when I ordered 5 before). Service is generally pretty solid but the place does get very crowded during prime hours (and thus a bit slower). Seats are decently far apart so you can't hear other people's convos too much. It has quick food vibes vs. bougie dinner out, but it's such a solid option for some good quick food. My favorite taco by far is the portabella which has a meaty chunk of mushroom on the inside, some crunch from onion and lots of sauce. It's incredible. The fried fish is also good.

I visited this place a lot in the past. They used to have happy hour after ten which two dollar taco, now they do not have this deal anymore, which is probably why this place was not as busy on weekend night as it was in the past. We ordered tacos including my favorite Mango-Hop-Anero Shrimp tacos, Guacamole & chips, Carne Asada Fries, and Beef Birria. The food were great. The service was decent. The waitress took our orders and did check on us one time.

Came here with two girlfriends, couldn't quite decide on what to order so we ordered one of every taco on the menu and it was the best choice ever! This is an affordable way to satisfy many different people's palates and a fun way to test out the menu! Great for those who are at times indecisive like I was that night.

Always great food and drinks! Spicy Margarita is the perfect amount of spice and it's not too sweet. There are so many great options on the menu, you really can't go w

I would quickly give this place 5 stars if it just had more space!! If you are going to serve food this good you need a serious dining room! I know... it's trendy. But folks, I'm here for the FOOD! I had the Chorihuevo without a tortilla. So call it a bowl. Guys, if my wife will let me I'm coming back for supper. I'm doing it again. I've previously had their street tacos. They are the real deal. I'm not an Alcohol guy so I can't speak to that but my son in law seemed happy. All in all this is the #1 place in The Lou For street Mexican.

Lunch date with friend! Rounding up to 4 Stars. The good: Chips and guacamole: chips were fresh and guacamole was fresh with a lot of lime Baja fish taco: had it breaded, could have used a bigger piece of fish but great flavor from the sauce and queso Portobello mushroom taco: excellent even though I could have used more mushroom! The refried black been was a good base and the spicy fried onion straws were amazing Server was very nice! The "eh" Beef tinga taco: barely any tinga flavor, I actually thought it was just shedded beef or maybe pork Carne asada fries: good chunks of asada, but whole plate was dry (although it included a good portion of guacamole) Corn: didn't feel like fresh corn, more like frozen corn from Trader Joe's that they just added sauce to.

I heard that Mission Taco does half priced tacos after 10pm. Is this true?

Not sure if this is still true nowadays, but they used to do $2 tacos after 10pm.

Do you offer flour tortillas for your tacos? Or is corn the only option?

We have both, made fresh every day!

    Do they offer lettuce cups/wraps?

Yes, sort of, they will serve the guts of the taco on a bed of lettuce or in a small bowl. But not in a big leaf.

I am assuming the heat inside was why there were grease/sweat patches on the edge of the table I was seated on. The birria tacos were very average, the rice that came with it was absolutely bland and the pastor enchiladas were alright but the meat was mostly charred. The horchata was so dilute, I couldn't taste anything. The only saving grace were the chips and salsa - especially the salsa. Overall, this is a pretty overpriced place for below average food.

The cilantro rice was also so good as a side and I loved the street corn, it was so creamy and delicious. My main pick when I visit now is the half southwest rice bowl with grilled chicken. It is the right portion size and has all the things I love in the rice bowl. I forgot to add avocado/guac on this last visit, but that's usually a good thing to add on top or to the side. It's been a few weeks since I had any pocket cash to go out to eat... so I decided to pick a food…read moresource at random for a Saturday afternoon, and I'm SO GLAD I did... You know how they say one of the best things about Mexico is the food? I have to admit, I would honestly wouldn't know and just have to trust the stories I've heard, as I've never been lucky enough to go to Mexico.... But all my life I've heard stories about people who go and basically remind you.. NEVER hit a restaurant for _authentic_ Mexican food. You want to hit the street vendors. Well, St. Louis has a fantastic surprise.. Now you can do that right here in the city! Part of a three-restaurant set up, Amigo Sole is the "street vendor" restaurant that's not on the street. (And having met the owner of the full set-up, I'm REALLY hoping i get invited to the grand opening of Jekyll & Hyde) As it was middle of the day Saturday, I didn't ask for anything alcoholic (so i don't know if the reviewer that asked for alcoholic beverages and was told they didn't have any was just unlucky or if it was true.) But I'll take a Mexican Coke over American Coke any day of the week (NO, get your minds out of the gutter.. not that powdered one!). Anyway, I went simple for a quick stop, and went with the Chicken Bomb. at the recommendation of the cashier and he was quick to name this one off.. (and always remember cashiers, have a favorite READY, so thumbs up to the cashier on this one!) . And then to my amazement.. no more than 5 minutes later, HOT, tasty, cheesy, chicken quesadilla style BOMB-diggity! (Ironically this one is not listed on the website menu, only the instore menu? Come on Sole, online is everything today :) ) Absolutely delicious food.. and absolutely messy too, as it literally would fall apart in my hands.. (HEY, that's a good thing!) As for the decor.. 100% true, as Amigo Sole definitely has SOUL! (and lots of soles!). Again Amigo Sole isn't designed to be a 'great sit down' restaurant, it's designed to be street-vendor FUN!!!! and with what decoration they have, it pulls it off fantastically in my opinion. So just based on my meal, what the owner told me about the Amigo Sole, you're getting EXACTLY what you're promised a Mexican street vendor serving fantastic Mexican street vendor food, only with a roof over your head the entire time. During the meal, met again (Who i believe to be) the owner of the store and talked with him about Amigo Sole and how amazing it was to me... and he told me about the three-restaurant combination. (And I apologize sir, but I completely forgot your name when we talked!). even mentioning they share three kitchens when it gets busy (so I was kinda lucky as i think the rain scared everyone out for the day), but I'm still hoping for the Jeckyll & Hyde invitation! (I'll even pretend to find a date if I have to for the upscale part!)

When we walked in, the place was empty, besides the singular bartender standing behind the bar. She told us to sit anywhere we wanted, so we chose a table near the bar. Then, she politely asked us to move to the bar. She apologized and said she was new and that she didn't know what was going on. We started with an order of chips and salsa and shared a mango margarita on the rocks. Let's just say our marg was missing the rocks. The bartender forgot to add ice, so our margita was warm. She gave us a cup of ice to pour in. The marg itself wasn't very strong and tasted pretty syrup-y. Although the chips and salsa only cost us $2.50, I probably could've gone without. I don't think I would've liked them even if they were complimentary. The salsa was decent, but the chips were saltless and flavorless. We ordered two tacos and the arroz con pollo plate. My tacos came out at different times. Both were tiny and disappointing. I had the Hemp Avenue taco and the Sarah Street taco. The black bean juice was everywhere. The tortillas were dry and fell apart. They brought out a quesadilla instead of our arroz con pollo plate. We were confused, but the bartender insisted the order was correct. Then, a few minutes later, the correct plate was brought out. I guess I can't be mad that we scored a free quesadilla. However, it was quite soggy and the cheese was almost a rubbery texture. While we were there, a DJ started playing. The volume of the music went back and forth between increasingly loud and extremely quiet. None of the other staff members acknowledged us whatsoever. It felt like we weren't even there. I hate sounding so pessimistic, so I will say two positive things: their outdoor patio looks like a fun spot in the summer, and I bet this would be a great option if you've been out partying all night and need some food in your belly. Overall a bizarre experience from start to finish!
