The service here is surprisingly quick, even with how packed it was. It took maybe 5 minutes from when you order to when the food gets to your table! There was a pretty good amount of seating with 2 separate outdoor patios, though the inside is fairly small and doesn't have many seating options. Thankfully, the weather was so nice so we had no issues sitting outside. On to the food & drinks, I'm not a big margarita guy, but I've gotta say Taco Buddha has a dang good margarita (both frozen & on the rocks)! For the spread, we had the dip trio which had some pretty awesome guac, delicious queso, and some good, smoky salsa. Although I enjoyed the salsa, I do think they would benefit from having multiple salsa options since smoky isn't for everyone. In addition to the dips, we had The McCausland & The Biloxi which were both absolutely delicious. I was not expecting to like The McCausland as much as I did, but it was honestly my top taco of the night! The Biloxi was also delicious -- I really enjoyed the crunchiness of the fried shrimp. YUM! Taco Buddha is such a cute little gem. The patio seating is awesome and makes for a great dining experience. The service was incredibly kind and quick, which made the visit even better. While celebrating, Cinco de Mayo today, I won the Triple Taco. Triple Taco? I have now eaten at all three Taco Buddha locations. Don't ask me which one is my favorite, they are all spectacular in their own way. When I arrived around noontime, the line was starting to go out the door. I didn't let that scare me away. Once I was able to see inside, I could see the front four customers were picking up carry-out and Grub-Hub. Once they were taken care of, the host got the rest of us seated quickly. Once seated, the host told me the monthly special. He then asked me if I'd been to a Taco Buddha before. When I responded that I had been to Kirkwood and U-City, he knew that I knew how to order with the QR Menu. He then showed me the, Let's Taco Buddit sign. If you prefer a live person, you place the card in the top of the table rack and one will come to assist you. I used the QR menu to order my lunch. My Cinco de Mayo meal was; Fried Avocado, Baja Taco, Biloxi Taco and a House Margarita. Using the QR Box to order is really easy and you can keep a tab open or pay immediately. After I placed my order, in minimal time I had my Margarita. Then after a couple of sips, my Fried Avocado arrived. The avocado was lightly breaded, still had its skin on and was a nice change from the typical chips and salsa. I ordered two tacos, a Baja (fish) and a Biloxi (shrimp). Both were fried and I had the cilantro held on both. The Biloxi is my TB favorite, I have it every time I dine at TB. I honestly think that Taco Buddha makes the best tacos in STL. The decor at this location is minimalist and I love the industrial table tables. Once seated, you can move them around the table to wherever you want them. They have a completely outside patio, inside and bar seating and a covered patio, too. All accommodations are comfy. The associates work together as a team. They're all servers and runners. First time at Taco Buddha. Was raining really hard but it was Father's Day and my daughter wanted to take me to lunch. Landed on Taco Buddha as I was feeling tacos! Sat outside on the edge of the patio and unfortunately was a little in the rain as the roof has a bit of a gap in it. Server was friendly and helpful, but we ordered from the app as it allowed us to easily modify the tacos. Tacos came out pretty quickly and everything looked great. But they did not bring the sauces that were put on the side and the really bog problem, nothing was hot. Every taco was just lukewarm. My family dined here after a nice visit to the Botanical Gardens- it's close by and a great choice! Good luck finding parking - the lot is mostly carry out and you might be lucky to get street parking in this residential location! The service is great. We ordered our food and in less than 10 minutes appetizers arrived followed by our entrees. The chips and queso were addictingly delicious I loved my meaty brisket taco and shrimp taco. I went here tonight with a couple of pals. It's set up really nice. Great patios. The one we sat on had fans and was a great people-watching place. Amiya helped us out. They have red cards at the table so if you have a question or want to order you just put that red card up and someone will come by to help you. It's a pretty great system. We arrived before HH ended so we're had the Trifecta chips with salsa (smokey but too spicy for me ...if you know me you know I'm a wuss), queso and guacamole. The queso was very good but the guacamole was perfect. Not blended to death, it has some chunks of avocado. It was fantastic. Also for the HH I got the house margarita on the rocks. It was FANTASTIC!! We ordered some rice and beans to share. There was a lot of that and each of us had 2 tacos. I had the McCausland and the Biloxi. One of my friends had the Biloxi and the monthly special taco. The other friend had the McCausland and the Baja (their most popular taco we were told). Amiya (by the way, this is spelled wrong) made us laugh and was truly a delight. A true asset to Taco Buddha. I have to say everyone was very hospitable. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Taco Buddha! It has been on our list to try since they opened up this location near us, and I am sorry we didn't try it sooner! The tacos were delicious and they had a creative variety of tacos. We sat on the covered patio as it was raining but they also have a front patio and some seating inside. We also used the QR code to order, but they give you a sign you can pop in the napkin holder if you would prefer to have someone come and take your order if the QR code is not your preference. The QR code ordering was easy and straightforward. They are also very flexible with substitutions and putting toppings on the side - the QR code provided many options very clearly! You can order via phone (QR code) or "in person"; both are quick and easy. Good cocktails (Margs, Palomas, beer and more). The star of the show, of course, is the food. Everything is super fresh and made to order. Tacos are phenomenal with many unique options plus an inventive "Taco of the Month" option. The Green Chile queso and chips is very large appetizer; easy for 4 persons to split (but found its best to order a 2nd order of queso due to amount of chips). My favorite taco (so far) has been the Biloxi (battered shrimp with amazing flavors). It'll be a regular of mine. Also have had the Taos and Nashville. Both spot on. Looking forward to trying the Jodhpur (grilled chicken masala based taco). It was my son's birthday celebration and he liked our dinner choice. My wife and I have been to Kirkwood's Taco Buddha but decided to try the new location on Tower Grove. They have all the same options that the Kirkwood location has but it is a little smaller being a converted gas station. You still can order at the table with the QR code at your table but they have added a menu option if you are not liking the tech option. Our server said that if you want you can just flag her down and she will take your order by hand. They aim to please. This night they had the heaters running in the covered patio area. It was toasty and comfortable they have a taco of the month which is always interesting. The Lafayette is the special taco of the month. I added my favorite taco the Del Rio. The Lafayette is blackened Pollock with tangy Louisiana style remoulade, cotija cheese,slaw,cilantro on a corn tortilla.. This was very flavorful with a little zing to your palate. My favorite, the Del Rio is a mesquite smoked chopped beef brisket, romaine, avacado,citrus pickled red onions, salsa, roja and cotija cheese, cilantro on a flour tortilla. We stopped for drinks and appetizers and although the place was not full at all, we were seated right next to another couple with an attached table. We were sharing a table with strangers, no privacy. We ordered with the QR code and the appetizers came and not the drinks. We were finished with the queso and guacamole and still no drinks. We asked the server and the manager kindly comped the drinks and apologized for the oversight. This was a nice offer. The drinks were good (margaritas) but sadly the guacamole and the Hatch green chile queso were absolutely bland and tasteless. I squeezed lime juice and used salt to give some taste to the guacamole. Here's my "vegan" meal: topped with cheese and dairy sauce. I can't show a picture of the food that replaced it, because it never came as the servers avoided eye contact and ignored me. After twenty minutes, I left. And that vegan version of "Mexican street corn" ($5.95) was just a tiny roasted piece of corn with nothing on it - like they think we're stupid. It makes me wonder if the vegan versions of their tacos are similarly just tortillas with nothing on them, because again, I never saw them. I don't know what is going on here, but the person who wrote the menu, with its declarations that *we handle any dietary restrictions* and half of the menu listed as having vegetarian and vegan options, and the people who work there, who seem to not even know what those things mean - are going to send someone with a severe allergy to the hospital when they happily serve them a pile of cheese and dairy. Fair warning. This is a longer review, but it's earned. Think bull riding. Commit, hang on, and know this is honest. I've lived in Missouri for three years, and until Taco Buddha, I had not found a Mexican restaurant worth spending my money at. I was skeptical. I do not casually pay premium prices for tacos. But Taco Buddha was close, the reviews were solid, and I figured I'd try one taco. Worst case, lesson learned. That was two weeks ago. I've been back three times. The food tastes like home. Like Texas. Like Austin. Then I learned the owner is from Austin and the recipes come from there. That explained everything. The Nashville taco is unreal. Nashville hot style fried chicken with New Mexico chili, pimento cheese, buttermilk dressing, citrus, pickled red onion, and romaine in a flour tortilla. I've ordered it twice and would gladly order it again. The Del Rio is fabulous. The taco of the month was excellent. The menu honestly does not miss. Do not sleep on the green chili chicken pozole. I ordered a cup and immediately regretted not getting a bowl. It's hearty, deeply flavorful, and a meal on its own. Ask for both corn and flour tortillas. The chili con queso is dangerous in the best way. And the green salsa actually has heat and flavor. This is not weak restaurant salsa. If I could drink it, I probably would. I had a frozen margarita while waiting. Strong, balanced, and full of flavor. I was grateful I lived close to home. The space is just as good as the food. Great bar, comfortable indoor dining, and excellent indoor outdoor seating. It feels intentional and welcoming. These are not tiny street tacos. They're big, about six inches. One and a half is a full meal, with leftovers or something to share. Taco Buddha is a hidden gem, and yes, I'm sharing the secret. Probably their sexiest location yet! Ambiance is off the charts and all the staff is friendly and attentive as it gets. The food, of course, is as good as it always has been in this St. Louis staple. The hatch green Chile queso is a must, and their taco of the month, the Puebla, is a prime candidate for best taco I've had next to the Busan.
