I heard good things about El Agave, so we thought we'd give it a try. The parking lot isn't huge, but it butts up to the shopping mall, so you can always find a spot there. The restaurant is large and bright and clean. I got the Burrito Gonzales (Chicken, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, topped with cheese sauce and served with rice and beans). I thought it was really good. The chicken was tender and the vegetables were crisp and flavorful. The portion was a good size. I'll get this one again, but I may try some of the other dishes too. First time here. When you walk in, there's a good size bar. The restaurant itself is pretty good size. I believe this used to be an IHOP back in the day. There are a few seats outside on a patio. I ordered the combination platter. It had a Chile Relleno, rice, and beans. I would say it was average. The Chili Relleno was pretty small. I'm not sure if I would order that again. I did see someone have the burrito California and it looked delicious. I might need to try that next time. They did bring chips and salsa to the table. The restaurant was decorated very festive. I loved the big massive wood doors to the restrooms. I believe their wait staff pretty much pulls all their tips together, and everybody helps out where needed. This is a solid place. Service was great, food came out quick and it was yummy. I had the tacos al pastor, and those hit the spot!. Guac was tasty too. It's a vibrant, colorful place, and with plenty of TVs to catch a game (or watch a random one while eating). This is your classic neighborhood Mexican restaurant. It delivers exactly that. Great service, food, and ambience at reasonable prices. My husband and I went on a Sunday for an early lunch. We are here on a Friday evening so there was no close parking we had to park in the Home Depot lot. We wanted to sit on the patio so we had a bit of a wait . 30 minutes I do believe. This restaurant has a surface lot with a decent amount of parking spaces. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita and my friend ordered a raspberry margarita. We both felt our margaritas lacked Tequila and later ordered shots of house Tequila to make up the lack thereof. Our food arrived within 4 minutes of us ordering. It was very hot as in heat however, my friend ordered chicken Tacos for Taco Tuesday and he believes (as do I) that it was canned chicken compared to my grilled chicken taco entree. He as extremely let down. My Tacos were well flavored, not canned chicken and the salsa, green sauce and Pico de Gallo were on point. Met my daughter her for dinner last night. We were first time customers. We waited briefly to be greeted but were then sat quickly. The menu is fairly standard like many of the local Mexican restaurants in the area. I ordered the California burrito, my husband ordered a combo platter with a burrito, enchilada, rice and beans & added a crunchy taco. My daughter had the arroz con pollo and her boyfriend had the steak tacos. All of us enjoyed our food. It was good Mexican. However, the prices are steep for what you get. My daughter's chicken and rice was 18.00 and 1/2 her plate was filled with lettuce. This is her standard from all local Mexican restaurants and the same entree down the street will fill the plate and be about 14.00. The small bowl of cheese dip was almost 6.00 and my side of sour cream was almost 3.00. Mexican tends to be a more affordable dinner out, however, last nights meal was just over 100.00. We came to El Agave for a weekday lunch today, and service was prompt and friendly! We ordered a steak quesadilla kids meal for my daughter which came in a sizeable portion for only $6.99. The steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful, and she also enjoyed the rice and refried beans. My lunch special plate came with a ground beef enchilada, rice, and ground beef taco with lettuce.
