Lobster taco & Carne Asada Taco

10/10 tacos Not your traditional spot--more elevated/fancy but SO worth it. Fried lobster taco is by far the best taco I've ever had! Carne asada was also amazing From out of town and already wish we had this back home

This restaurant is EXTREMELY mid... If you are from KC, you more than likely have heard of this place. It is severely overhyped. Nothing about it stood out. When you eat the food you think to yourself, "it's ight but it's not good and it's nothing different than anything else you've ever had. In addition the service was absolutely terrible, I genuinely believe we saw our server twice, once when they took our order and another when they brought out the check. Not even a water re-fill...overall MID I'd give it a 2 1/2 out a 5 if I could. Hopefully it gets better in the future but this time wasn't it.

My friend and I stopped in here for a quick bite to eat. It's a great space, very fun and has an upbeat vibe. Every staff members was friendly and helpful. We split the Mexican Street Corn Fritters which were amazing!! My taco had great flavor but was a little light on the mahi-mahi. That said, I would definitely order it again. My only wish would be that they offered a round of complimentary chips & salsa. We didn't have drinks but would love to come back for happy hour.

We had the best time here! The restaurant has a fun, surf/beach type decor. We were greeted warmly as soon as we arrived and taken to a booth. It happened to be Happy Hour, so margaritas were $2 off. My frozen/blended margarita was amazing! We got the queso con chorizo as an appetizer. The cheese was creamy and the spicy chorizo was tasty. We did not leave any queso behind! My husband and I both got tacos. He got a Hot Fried Chicken taco, a Mango Habanero Shrimp taco, and a Spicy Chorizo taco. I tried the chorizo taco and it was spicy as promised, and very good! I ordered a Mango Habanero Shrimp taco, a Carnitas taco, and a Fried Baja Fish Taco. Every taco was unique and flavorful. I would order all of them again! We come to Kansas City several times a year, and we will most definitely be back for more tacos.

We can in here for a quick appetizer and drinks as we wait for reservation next door. It's was early dinner time. Plenty of open tables. Hostess seated us right away. But it took us quite a while to get service. In fact, we had to ask the hostess again if there was a waitress. Once we got service, food came out right away. Looks like they have a pretty good drinks/cocktail menu. Food not too pricey. Chips come with two different salsa, spicy and mild. We ordered street taco, Ala cart. It would be a good place to come hang out with friends and have some margaritas. 3-stars for service not on par.

I wish I would've had more time to look around the market because it looked like they had a lot of good stuff but I'll have to go back and see. They do have tables inside that you can eat at. The food was done at the quoted time and was accurate. The one individual I encountered was friendly. The menu was very straightforward-tacos, burritos, and a few other items, all can be customized. I had to get an order of chips and queso. I really liked their queso. It had good flavor and wasn't overly spicy. The chips were fresh and held up to the queso nicely. I'm definitely probably alway going to order this when I go. I also tried a taco with carne asada. The tacos are the street variety but they are really good sized. They don't skimp on the meat. And the carne asada was really good. No gristle or gross bits. It was chopped finely and I'd definitely order it again. I also had to try a burrito. I tried the El pastor for that and added on all the toppings-cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. I also opted for extra meat because it was super cheap-like $1, so why not? Again, I was not disappointed. I did throw my burrito on the good 'ol George Foreman when I got home because they don't grill it at all and I wanted some grill marks on that tortilla. Otherwise, the el pastor was flavorful and tender and the toppings were all fresh. Per usual, my eyes were bigger than my stomach so I saved half of my burrito, but it was a welcome leftover meal the following day. Definitely check them out if you're on the boulevard and want some tasty, Mexican grub.

I just took a swing at it, picked up a menu, and stood there. It took a while for somebody to acknowledge that I was there. The person who took my order was super involved, which is cool, but they needed some help, and the person who came by to help them seemed to be rather impatient, so that was one of the first things I noticed. They do bring your food out in a reasonable amount of time, delivered to your table. You have a number that attaches to a metal wand that they give to you. So the water station is set up in the back, you get your own water, but they were out of cups. They had a really cool aesthetic to it, with like the garage door where you can see all the downtown. The only problem was that the sun went down, and it started to get rather cold. Nobody ever closed the door, but I ordered the Asada fries. 3/5 heavy on the seasoning, but not so much on the flavor, it came across. It's kind of salty. I thought it would be different than what it was. The portion size was fine, and the green sauce that they offer you on the side really makes it better. Also ordered the CHORI queso dip lied on the chorizo for the portion size. The flavor was also a three out of five. The chip that they give you with it has a nice, good texture and reasonable seasoning. My wife had the mushroom Tinga tacos. She gave him four out of five. She really enjoyed them. The atmosphere is cool. The weights staff are really cool. I'd consider coming back on a Thursday. They have this cool thing that you can try new and upcoming dishes, and then they also have brunch, so I'm thinking about giving them a second shot. If you've never been, you should come and see what your opinion is, but really cool aesthetics and great views.

Ordering is usually at a kiosk or with a member of the staff. It's fast casual, so set expectations that way in terms of service. Kansas City has good tacos (all over KCK especially.) I'd classify these taxos as slightly upscale, but totally worth the extra cost. The quality, care and love from the team shows. The corn tortillas are hand made with a gorgeous masa made from organic corn. You can smell and taste the difference. I usually get 3 tacos and split a side of totopos and salsa molcajete. I usually get the Al Pastor, Pescado (fried fish) and Camaron Poblano (Shrimp). The Salsas also have a wonderful luck of spiciness. You're right in the KC Live space of the P&L and there are drinks aplenty, so drop in! The food is about it what you'd think, but not 'off the chain' or anything. The house salsa has a firm punch about it, and when riding atop a housemade tortilla chip, it mixes quite well. I highly recommend the Spicy Margarita which is not for the faint of heart but not so spicy that you're calling the fire brigade. Great lime base, solid tequila, and sliced jalapeños make for a refreshing and enjoyable cocktail. The Carne Asada Tacos are a good choice, maybe a touch light on the carne, however, but tasty. Pricing is what it is for the location. A couple could get in & out with a cocktail and dinner for around $60, so that's reasonable. Service is friendly and they turn things quickly, the food comes fresh & ready, and it seems to be well-run. It gets loud in here, so be prepared, but that's just KC Live.
