I've been here for 3 sessions already to get laser hair removal of the brazilian area. The office is small, cute, and clean. It's conveniently located a block away from a Bart station, so it's been easy for me to get here after work for my appointments. The ladies at the front desk are nice with greeting and booking your next appointment. I have to admit that booking my first appointment was a complete nightmare. No one was picking up my calls; I ended up putting on my headphones while working and dialing them nonstop for 5 minutes straight. Someone eventually picked up :). Once you get past that first hurdle, booking your subsequent appointments are easy since you'll just do it in person after you are done with your session. The process takes about 5 minutes. My first session was a huge shock. Pain level was 10/10 near the very sensitive areas, and everywhere else was about a 5/10. (Would like to note that my pain tolerance is high since I've been doing brazilian waxes for 10+ years). They increase the laser strength by 1 notch each time you come in, and despite the increase in strength, I actually feel like the subsequent sessions haven't been as painful. Maybe it's because I'm used to the pain now, and I just take deep breaths during the whole thing. They have a Groupon special, which is a great deal. Amazinggg deal. -6 pack for under arms -I have medium tan skin and course black hair -normally was So after the first few sessions, I really really noticed a difference and it was spectacular to be fair free! Especially in the summer like cmon HYFR. As time went on, i think the effectiveness went down. By my 5-6th time, I had to wax/shave in between my sessions which were 4 weeks apart. My consultant lady said that's was awesome results. UH SAY WHAT? So one, I was and am annoyed she was so dismissive when i was citing my concerns but secondly, idk she said it was normal but i was under the impression that laser meant HAIR FREE 5ever. So if you are reading this, know that it just means reducing your hair growth to the need ever 4ish weeks. I will say, this place is absolutely gorgeous, clean, etc and you feel lovely just walking in. It is really really hard to get appointments though. You can't do it on a whim you really need to plan over a month in advance and it's super annoying that you have to sign your god damn life away (many pages of signatures) EVERY TIME. read more

I have beenI have been coming to SEV Laser for the past almost one year and have received multiple laser hair removal treatments from them. I am writing this review not geared towards the nurses who actually do the treatments, but to the management. A couple of months ago I was burned by the laser and had a severe and extremely painful reaction. I don't blame the nurse for this because before each treatment they do test patches and ask if the pain level is okay. On this particular day the nurse did my test patch which felt okay and proceeded to do the rest of my leg. After a few minutes we noticed that the laser had burn through my skin causing red patches. The nurse proceeded to lower the settings for the rest of the area that was left. About 30 minutes after the appointment my upper leg started throbbing of pain and broke out into red inflamed patches. I called the front desk explaining the situation and they explained the aftercare. This included using some ointments which I had to pick up from the pharmacy because the reaction was that severe. The scars talk about three months to start healing which included peeling. To this day I still have a slight scarring which might actually end up being permanent. Now here's where the issue lies, knowing that they messed up my treatment, I was never offered any compensation until I asked for it. They refunded that treatment and offered me one free session. However, in my opinion after the excruciating pain I went through and what might be permanent scarring one free session does not seem like a lot. I say this because laser hair treatment works best when following the hair growth cycle. I was not able to receive treatment on my legs for three months which completely ruined my results. I feel like it is completely unprofessional to have to ask for compensation when the company is at fault. This is honestly very embarrassing for management considering I have been a loyal client and have received many treatments from this location. Updating my review. Someone reached out and apologized for my experience. On the day of my actual laser appointment everyone was super kind and the laser itself was PAINLESS. Hopefully the sessions pay off! - My first impression is extremely unprofessional especially for a business in the medical and beauty field during COVID-19. Leaving the house and going to a business is a pain mor than usual. I had an appointment which got cancelled last minute due to machine maintenance via text (acknowledge this is my fault for missing it)but I checked my appointment online which stated it was confirmed. A nurse practitioner called me the night before to perform a clearance which led me to think that everything is good to go. On the day of my appointment, I showed up after a 40 minute walk and was notified that 1) my appointment was cancelled 2) I did not received medical clearance 3) also did not receive an apology until I expressed my frustration What a mess. I absolutely love the nurses and technicians who are performing laser hair removal on me. The nurses are very knowledgeable and kind. I've done 8 sessions for a Brazilian laser hair removal, which I've had an excellent experience with. However, I decided to get a group on for one large area to do one half of my legs. Before I bought it I called the call center and asked how it would work and they let me know I would just have to pay for one other large area, so my lower legs and this would include my knees. After my first full leg treatment they charged me for one large area plus my knees in addition to my groupon. The woman working the front desk was very dismissive and rude after I told her what the call center had said. So, I called the call center and they said it was a mistake and they do charge for the knees and that someone should have not told me that. I checked the website and it doesn't list the knees as being a charge, so I asked they correct it so customers are informed. I went for my second full leg laser hair removal last week. I was just charged for one large area, which I was confused by. Then I noticed another charge a few days later for something else which I wasn't notified of or sent a receipt. I just called the call center and they said they forgot to charge me for my knees. I let them know I would appreciate a phone call before they just charge me and a receipt in the future. The two woman at the call center were again unapologetic and dismissive. Wrote the above review and the manager gave me a call a few days later. I've been once and it was a great experience. Easy to book, the technician was pleasant, and I was happy with my results. However, now I'm trying to book a second appointment and it's been quite difficult. I had to reschedule and somehow both my 2nd and 3rd appointment were cancelled. Unfortunately, given SEV's schedule I couldn't rebook for another 5-6 weeks. This is a joke that a big chain like SEV Laser forces you to buy a treatment that you don't need just to get the small area that you need! I wanted to do my "between the cheeks" area, but it's only part of the "Brazilian bikini" package... SEV is a great laser spot, and I've only gone twice so far, but it's been a good experience. the office itself has great vibes with a beautiful waiting room and nice smells from their candles. my only complaint really is that the people at the front desk could be a lot nicer. they really just seem interested in getting you in and out as fast as possible and arent as nice as they could be. I've been to a few different laser/waxing spots and never had this issue before, but from my experience, they just aren't the most friendly. not to mention SEV is booked out months in advanced, which is a great problem to have, but they canceled my upcoming appointment because it was "too close to my last one" which is strange since the person who scheduled me told me that the date was fine... and since they're so booked out, I was not able to make another one for another 2 months. This is frustrating because it delays my progress and the progress I've made so far. otherwise though, the actual laser technicians get through you pretty quick and have you in and out, which is nice. Why haven't I tried this place sooner and in the first place!! I've had laser hair treatment before and had to use numbing cream because the pain was too intense, especially if you are getting a full Brazilian. That's why I was super surprised they said I wouldn't need it on my first appointment. Boy were they right! For underarms and Brazilian, they literally only took 5-10min with minimal pain. Their machine uses a super high tech cooling system that distracts you from the laser pain which feels like a rubber band snapping, which I only felt on the sensitive areas. I also used a groupon. I wish I knew if you bought the large area Groupon, you can use it for two medium size places which underarms and Brazilian is considered. But even without it, you can't beat the prices! The girls who work here are crazy sweet. Krupa was nice and kind even though I was crazy nervous. Yeah it hurts. But for TWO SECONDS MAX. If you're a baby but can take a big breath and hold it, that's as long as it takes. Really clean place, and they're happy to explain anything. Smells kinda gross though in the room once you get started so prepare yourself. They have beautiful Jo Malone candles burning everywhere to make up for it though. Having had my first laser hair removal some 20+ years ago I can attest to the wonderful changes in laser hair removal services. I LOVE everything about SEV Laser San Francisco! Easy access with ground floor offices and available street parking. The office is beautifully decorated in a plush yet soothing decor with fresh roses and incredible scented candles making it smell heavenly. The young ladies at the reception area where you check in and out are personable, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The nurse/technicians are kind and gentle, taking the time to explain everything to you before your sessions start. I am amazed how the Laser equipment they use today is so much better and much faster than the old method from 20 years ago. I have my full face and neck done in 10 minutes! Purchased a Groupon to laser my underarms. It literally only took 30 seconds for the technician to zap me and I was done. Very minimal pain, super easy check-in all around. I'm already seeing drastic results after just the first session. My only complaint is their booking. When I first purchased the Groupon I had a really hard time trying to get a call through (I still do). The line either goes to voicemail (but for the Glendale location), rings forever, or even on a couple occasions hangs up my call while ringing. But when I did finally get someone to answer she said I could actually book online, which made it a lot easier. Everyone has to put in a credit card to hold down their appointment in case of cancellation, so don't worry about them charging you when you book online. When you check-in/check out in person just mention your Groupon and they'll redeem it for you. What also makes it easier is the card you have on file they can also charge tip to, which makes it a lot easier then having to carry around cash. They are crazy busy. They suggest that you book your next appointment a month prior to when you need it (they told me I need 4 weeks between my underarms appointments, could differ for different areas). You also need to make the appointment that far out anyway because at least you'll have options for decent times (i.e. weekends). Additionally, come early if you are driving - the location is on Market Street but there is metered and non-metered parking if you give yourself the time to drive and look around. read more

My initial experience when I first arrived was good. I was checked in and called back rather fast. I spoke with the nurse briefly about how my first visit didn't go as expected. Things were pretty good as she was explaining to me the process, which I already knew. I usually get my laser hair treatments from serenity Med Spa in SF so I'm no stranger to treatments. As she put the probe to my skin as I felt a very strong zap!! Now I know it's normal to feel something but not like what I felt! She turned the machine down and said sorry and asked if I was ok. I told her yes, she put some cream on it and proceeded with my treatment. After she was done she gave me a little bit of the cream she put on the burn in a tin jar for me. She said make sure I put it on the spot so it doesn't leave a scar. This was yesterday 9/2/2020 today I have a huge black mark right in the side of my face!! Not only is there a scar! My skin is peeling down to my flesh!! I will not be returning. (Serenity Med Spa) is not cheap by any means but well worth it! I have never had a bad experience with Serenity at all. All in all. If you want quality service don't go here! Then to make matters worse they have some manager contact me and say, we're so sorry this happened! Let us provide silvadene to prevent infection free of charge to you. The next day the same lady text me and says oh yeah; if there is a co-pay you pay it and we will reimburse you by sending out a check!! Haven't I already paid and suffered enough?! The front desk staff and most of the ladies that laser are all really kind. The place is beautiful and very clean. I haven't had the greatest results (been over 9 times and haven't seen a change in my hair on legs or Brazilian), and some of the staff kind of just pushes me off. I had to mention it 2-3 times before one of them finally told me that my settings hadn't been moved up for months. Last time I went was one of the first times I felt like she really cared, she walked me through all of my settings and told me to wait a bit longer in between sessions. SEV hooked me up with a groupon & were very informative thru the entire booking process which made me look forward to my first appointment which was today at the Market st location in SF. the spot was very chic and pretty much sparkling clean. Office seems disorganized and difficult to work with. Had an appointment for Monday at 1, was told there was an equipment outage and was rescheduled for Tuesday at 10 am. When I got there I was told I had not filled out all the forms, even though I had filled them out before my first appointment. Then I was told that my nurse was out sick, which introduced delays and made me late for work. Finally, when checking out I told them to use the card on file. I got a text message immediately after leaving saying it didn't go through. Called back and waited on hold for 30 minutes, gave them the same card info and it went through. Each time I've been the women doing my laser treatment itself were fine. However, the front desk people are kind of rude and just very unwelcoming. This place has never let me down!!! The front desk girls are always nice and welcoming!!! With time to chat before going in for my appointment. My technician was incredibly educational and told me to postpone my sessions for better results and it absolutely worked! I am now coming in every 8-10 weeks after about 9 sessions. The process is tricky for getting scheduled so I recommend booking two at a time so you can have them planned. Their volume is very high. Always make sure to shave before your session and wear loose clothing to make the process quicker. This prevents any type of irritation or rub as well. Works well for my sensitive skin any any redness does subside as they offer topical coolant gel (Aloe Vera) after your laser. The front desk is always accommodating with my requests (I inquire about the specials every time I come in) and hoping that they have a new deal available. They are super sweet and explain the offers in detail. I am very happy with my experience and would recommend this place to anyone who wants a cute, chic & fast-paced med spa experience. I had my second appointment at SEV and felt it implied to write a review. This is my first time trying out laser hair removal so I didn't know what to expect. The procedure itself was super fast and painless and the nurse was really informative on giving me directions and calming down my nerve. Upon my first check out I was helped by Angelica who informed me beyond measure on making the most of my sessions. At my first appointment I asked her how many sessions does it take for people to see results she explained to me every person is different but that normally to see a reduction people are happy with it usually takes anywhere between 9-12 sessions in one area followed by touch ups in the areas every few months after. She also explained to me the important of coming in at an appropriate time frame she told me my first few sessions can be anywhere between 4-6 weeks and once I start seeing a reduction to stretch it out 6-8 weeks. She advised me to ensure the week I was coming in I was seeing hair growth so that we can target new follicles everytime , and that patchiness inbetween sessions is completely normal. I felt writing this review was necessary because upon filling out paperwork and forms no where is this process explained, so thank you so much for taking time out of your day to provide this information and customer service. I was lucky to get checked out by her upon my second visit and was able to get name! Thank you for being super informative and kind! UPDATED REVIEW: I did get a call from the local manager apologizing for everything that's happened. This shows their company culture and their empathy which I appreciated. I am bringing them up to 4 stars because at the end of the day they're still managing their business well. If you have a problem they will work with you to resolve it. Old review: It seems like others have had this issue on here so not sure why it's still happening. I also bought a groupon for lower legs at sev. Before buying it, I called the office and asked about how the pricing will work. I let them know I wanted to do my full legs. Over the phone they told me that all I need to do is buy upper legs since the Groupon was for lower legs and I said okay. I bought the Groupon and went in for my first appointment. The receptionist informed me that buying upper legs does not include my knees and so id have to pay separately for my knees. This is just ridiculous because who does upper and lower legs without knees? And also the receptionist over the phone told me all I would have to do is buy the upper leg package with no mention of knees. It's clearly just another trap for patients to incur an additional cost without even knowing it. So I agreed to buy upper/knees at a 5 + get one free deal that seems to always be going on. Although frustrated that I had to pay for my knees and the awful communication, I still decided to go for it. Second session: the receptionist this day seemed to be confused by my laser package and was going to charge me for the day even though I had already paid. I had to show her my bank statement which I thought was ridiculous because how can they not see that on their end? It made me feel like I was lying to them about paying. Third session: I check in to my third session and then I'm told I haven't paid for my knees. At this point I'm just so frustrated with these people because every time I come in it seems to be something new. I told them that I've been doing full legs BOTH times and I paid for it but the ladies at the desk said I never paid for knees. It is so absurd that no one is on the same page at this office. One good thing is she said she'll give me my knees for free today but I have to pay they next three times. Positive: After just two sessions I've noticed a difference in my legs so the laser does work. Pros: nurses are super friendly and laser works. Cons: they're an administrative mess, the receptionists never seem to be on the same page, scheduling is a nightmare with them. I also find it weird that they ask for gratuity for their nurses.
