Then the dim sum: If you like Truffle in your dumplings (but you gotta really like that flavor as my son does) the Truffle pork soup-style dim sum were to die for! I found the truffle flavor too intense, but my son went nuts over it. We also ordered the Chicken & Corn dumplings which were good, but a touch dry. The staff was friendly and brought us water almost immediately. Love that they had some sports playing on the TV and it was quiet enough to have full conversations. I'm usually always outvoted when it comes to figuring out where to eat. Seven Folding Dumpling House, is on Marguerite Parkway and Avery, in our gorgeous city of Mission Viejo. Walking up to the restaurant you'll find a good amount of parking right on the lot. They have about 3-4 tables outside that I *think you can use for dining. Inside is a pretty ample sized dining room with plenty of tables. Restrooms are also clean and can be found straight to the back of the building. We were immediately seated. The service was very friendly and attentive throughout our experience. --What we ordered-- 1) Xao long bao (pork) $13.77 - 5/5. Steaming hot, juicy and very flavorful. 2) Fish roe shrimp & pork shumai $8.77 - 5/5. Plump and delicious. 3) wonton soup (pork) $12.77 - 3/5. The wontons were good and we really enjoyed this, however, the broth was unfortunately bland. 4) Green bean with garlic $15.77 - 5/5. Well seasoned and perfectly cooked. There were a couple longer pieces where I wish they would've ripped the seam of the green beans off because it got stuck when I tried to swallow it...twice. 5) Pork & shrimp dumplings (pan-fried) $13.77 extra &1 for pan-fry - 5/5. Crispy and tasty. 6) Cucumber salad $5.77 - 5/5. I normally don't order these because serving sizes for the price are expensive. This was so fresh you could taste it. The sauce was so good. We came here for a group lunch on a Thursday and it was almost completely empty! There were 9 people in our party, so we did family style within each side of the table (so our "family" was 5 people). We ordered pork xiao long bao, black truffle pork xiao long bao, pork cutlet fried rice, cucumber salad, hot and sour soup, and pork and shrimp steamed dumplings. I really liked the xiao long bao! The truffle flavor was very subdued - I couldn't really tell to be honest. They came in a vibrant purple color though, so it was beautiful! The pork and shrimp dumplings were also delicious. The fried rice with pork cutlet was good too. I felt like the cucumber salad wasn't quite at peak freshness, but it was still good. Our food came out very quickly. Our whole lunch only took 45 minutes, which is impressive for a group as big as ours. And one more random thing- I really liked their chopsticks because they had a slight textured section on the tips to help grip the dumplings better. Dumplings are so slippery so I appreciated that! Soup, ALL dumplings, spring rolls, and tea, were all delicious! Tea was refreshing, and dumplings were succulent and juicy! The chicken fried rice was mediocre, at best! The soup was flavorful. In fact, AVOID the chicken fried rice, it was way too moist. When I arrived yesterday, it wasn't super crowded. The service was poor and fell short. I felt ignored and unvalued. No real communication. I had to yell for my certain things, after politely waving them to come to my table for to-go boxes and check. They didn't check in to see how I was doing or if I liked anything else. The service was so disappointing. As delicious as the food is, I'm saddened to say that I won't be returning. Ha gow - this was the one true miss out of everything we ordered. Lacked flavor and the skin was thick. Shrimp fried rice - my daughter liked it but I thought it was slightly too wet, but the flavors were good. You can place your order by scanning the QR code on the table, or a server can take your order on his iPad. Yes, they have free Wi-Fi in case you are wondering. I have been waiting to try out this spot since I saw their sign up. When we came on a Friday night, it was quite busy. When we barely got seated, the waiter asked if we were ready within a few minutes. We said no and asked them to come back later. It took awhile for us to get noticed to order. We noticed after we ordered that there was a QR code on the table to order online. If we knew about this sooner or if it was mentioned to us, then we would have went directly there to order. This would have been faster! We ordered the Spicy Popcorn Chicken, Pork Xiao Long Bao, Steamed Shrimp Dumplings, Pork Chop Egg Fried Rice, and the Pan-Fried Pork & Shrimp Dumplings. All the food that came out tasted good! The Xiao Long Bao and the Pan-Fried Dumplings took the longest to come out. When they came out, we were already full and we thought they forgot about it. Throughout our dine-in, no one really check up on us or refilled our water. It took multiple attempts to catch anyone's attention for bowls & spoons. We also gave up on asking for help, so we went up to pay the bill and got the togo containers at the register. I think they need more workers and their service would definitely improve. One of the waiter was super friendly when people walked in. Another waiter kept looking like he was avoiding our table. The only person that seemed to check up on our food and get utensils from us was the worker bringing out the food.
