    Omurice with hamburger and curry
    Katherine G.

I've been trying to find a place with omurice for a while now and accidentally stumbled upon this place today so I had to try it! I ordered the omurice with a hamburger on top and curry. I was pretty impressed with the portion size. The plate came out piping hot and was absolutely delicious! The curry had a hint of spice but not too spicy. Great customer service as well!

The service was attentive, mindful, and super friendly! The menu selections from the appetizers and beverages were very thoughtful. The portions were generous and obviously the taste was perfect. Hits whatever spot you were craving for! Hidden gem!

Finding a good place chicken katsu curry in Orange County has been hard ever since Curry House closed, but Kiiro is a good place for it. The portion is generous and the curry has a good amount of spice too. There's multiple variations of curry available in case you like something other than chicken. I know now where I'll be coming for chicken katsu curry.

Came out to check out this place. Saw some great reviews. The restaurant is intimate with a retractable front door that takes advantage of the cool evening breeze. The staff was super attentive and checked in with us constantly. We ordered karage, gyoza (grilled), ramen, and hambagu curry rice. The karage was fried just right and the gyoza not too greasy. The tonkotsu miso ramen was tasty and the boys finished that up quickly finishing up with some rice. The hambagu rice was decent, the flavor of the patty was mostly from the curry. The price for the food was a bit higher than other places I've tried.

I'm always searching for good Japanese restaurants in the area. Unfortunately they are far and few between, so I was really excited when I found this relatively new place (new to me, anyway). They're located in a medium-sized shopping plaza across the street from Saddleback College. Lots of free parking is available since it's a shared lot. I was craving chicken katsu, so that's what I ordered online to go. Ordering online was very easy, and my food was ready upon pick up. It was packaged nicely and the employee at the front was friendly. The restaurant is a decent size, but I can't comment on the service since I ordered my food to go. Overall, the chicken katsu was good, not great. The chicken was a bit over-fried, and the sauce had a little hint of spice to it, although it did have good flavor. I was only able to eat half of it for lunch, and I saved the other half for my hubby. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the price. $19.95 seems a bit high for chicken katsu. Many other places charge less. I didn't feel that the dish warranted that amount. That being said, I would return to try one of their other dishes, especially the black tonkotsu ramen. It's a little cheaper at $17.95, but even that is rather high for ramen.

Spicy Tonkatsu Miso. Savory broth, firm noodles, melt-in-your-mouth pork belly, seaweed & creamy egg. So good!

Ordered Kiiro Cuisine for delivery because sometimes the greatest luxury is having food brought to your home. THE FOOD. - Spicy Tonkatsu Miso. Slightly firm noodles coated in a savory broth with a spicy kick, while the pork belly's fatty composition was melt in your mouth delicious. The seaweed added a touch of briny saltiness and the velvety, creamy soft boiled egg was the proverbial, "icing on the cake." Highly recommend. - Shrimp Crunch Roll. Generously sauced, with a sweet-savory glaze that dressed up the mild shrimp and added a nice pop of flavor to each bite. THE VERDICT. For delivery ramen, Kiiro Cuisine delivered (literally). Flavorful broth, quality toppings, and juicy pork belly made this an enjoyable meal in.

I am glad I revisited Kiiro Cuisine for my solo dinner out. I had the spicy miso ramen and grilled gyoza. I enjoyed everything! The service was prompt, polite, and pleasant. I was seated at a spacious table and away from other diners. Thank goodness I didn't have to negotiate where to sit. My food order came out right away. What a pleasant surprise. I get ramen quite often from all sorts of places fairly frequently. I really enjoyed the generous portions of wakame, corn, and bean sprouts my ramen contained. I usually have to pay extra for the amount of portions I received at other restaurants so I was quite happy. The broth was just right -- not too salty or watery. Noodles were nice and chewy too. The only thing I didn't care for was the chashu. It was a bit overcooked but easy to overlook that as a detail because the rest of the product was 100. The gyoza was also tasty. I appreciated the lack of greasiness. I'm looking forward to returning so I can try their katsu curry.

What a nice little gem in Mission Viejo! My family came for a visit and we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by someone almost immediately and they set up a table for us on the side. The place has a cool japanese small restaurant vibe with relaxing decoration and an organized space. After being seated we were given time to find our orders and then someone took our order pretty quickly. I loved the selection of japanese dishes ranging from omurice to ramen and curry! I got an omurice with a hamburger topping. It was alot of carbs but it tasted great! Hands down the best surprise in my opinion was the pork chashu bowl. The chashu had a great burnt flavor to it. I'll definitely be back!

First time trying this kind of curry and I was shook! Great unique flavors. Chicken katsu was cooked very well--juicy and crispy with amazing curry sauce. And the omurice... we ate every last grain. I want to go back to try the ramen because it looked incredible. The service was friendly and quick. Atmosphere was clean and casual.

Second time coming to Kiiro. It was amazing again! Very quick service, food was made so fresh - at the end our meal the bottom of our food was still hot! Definitely recommend trying this play out, one of my favorite restaurants.

Had a great experience here. Tried the chicken karaage, the spicy shoyu ramen, the hambagu omurice, and the gyozas. Everything was delicious and flavorful. Real quality comfort food. Service was good, and restaurant was clean. Parking is available in a shared lot with other businesses.

It's recommended to get 1 portion and order more as you go since it'll be fresh and not soggy. I tried their recommended dipping so as, the beef and the duck. Both of them had amazing flavors that made me keep wanting more! The soba was nice and chewy with the perfect al dente texture, and it paired perfectly well with the dipping sauce. Also tried the shrimp tempura soba and was pleased with the portion they provided. The tempura itself was also nicely coated, not too heavy on the crumbs. The staff there were all very friendly, and helped guide the menu since it was my first time. Amazing service and great food. Definitely a must try if you're in the area!

I don't think many restaurants offers cold soba option so if you never tried it, here is the probably the best place in south OC to give it a shot. This restaurant is located in a large plaza so there are plenty parking. The wait is usually not long at all. I have been here a few times with my family during lunch and dinner and it is never that packed. I think it is located in a pretty secluded area so it is not busy but the food is very good. The decor is simple but clean and has many tables. This most recent visit I ordered the marinated beef hot udon and my daughter ordered the Kakiage cold udon. I didn't know what Kakiage is so the staff kindly educated me that it is a ball of Tempura vegetables. Please don't mix it up with Karaage which is Fried Chicken. They are two different dishes. The broth of my beef udon is deep with umami flavor. The soup base has a legit dashi flavor, not the instant udon flavor. You can tell the difference right away. We also ordered the grill squid. The grill squid is tender and has a unique tastes like the dried squid snacks that I get from the Japanese market. The staff even offered hot water for my daughter's left over dipping sauce. She mixed her dipping sauce with hot water to drink it as a soup. Overall the food is great and we'll definitely be back for more.

The restaurant wasn't busy and we were seated right away. The vibe inside was authentic feeling Japanese style, smallish with several tables and sushi bar seating. My chicken oyakodon was a bowl of cozy comfort to me. It was topped with two slices of yellow pickled daikon. I'm sure it was homemade daikon, not like what you get in a jar from Tokyo Central. We were served their delicious miso soup as a starter. My sister ordered beef teriyaki and tempura. She said it was good. The restaurant started filling up as we ate our meal. A good sign of good authentic Japanese is when you see a lot of Japanese/Asians filling up the place, especially older people (haha, like me), because you know they know well prepared authentic. And that's the crowd that was coming in. Located in a busy center with limited parking, it must get crazy busy later in the evening because the sign outside the entrance says where to form the line. Anyway, my oyakodon and miso soup was so good!
