    Nice guy!

Nice to take a beer break from the many wonderful breweries and enjoy the rum, vodka and gin distilled here in Reno. In fact, being distilled feet away from where I was taste testing their wares. They also sell coffee beans, grass fed beef, jams, boozey pickles and shirts. Friendly staff gentleman, lots of parking, small bar area.

As the Reno area grows with craft beers we now have a few distilleries. Seven was born in 2009, but didn't start distilling until 2013 when the craft distilling bill was finally passed. The second legal license went to Seven. Call ahead for tasting times and days. And to arrange a very informative tour. Presently it is a staff of two working out of a small two room warehouse. But you'll be amazed at what these two people are doing in this limited space. Kelsey has a fabulous personally and her knowledge of Seven and the business really shows. They are creating distilled spirits at a craft level. The spirits are in small batch quantities enabling them to create higher quality spirits with a distinct taste. Moonshine, whiskey, vodka and rum with local sourced grains and a recipe from the 18th century. You can even purchase your own small cask and have them age a product just for you. Definitely give this spot a try, taste and your support.

Microdistilleries are a labor of love having to contend with extensive regulations and complex methods. Seven Troughs Distilling was recommended to me on my last trip to Reno, and they did not disappoint. The distillery and tasting room are located in Sparks in an industrial area south of Interstate 80 off McCarran. For a small fee, you can sample the various spirits made on site. They offer several styles including vodka, gin, and whiskey. The latter is available in several formats including an aged bourbon. Aging whisky in the high desert is a different process making a unique spirit compared to other locations. The staff at Seven Troughs love their art and their state. All of the ingredients are local including the grain which is really impressive. Get a tour if possible too. If you cannot make it, they sell the spirits in local liquor stores too.

Seven Troughs Distilling is a great micro distillery and is first to the Reno area. This was my first visit and I was immediately impressed! Kelsey greeted us as soon as we walked in and was very pleasant and accommodating. We had a sampling of their flight of current spirits as she explained how they are made and your history. After our sampling we had a tour of the facility and Kelsey walked us through the distilling process from start to finish and we even had the opportunity to try some spirits directly from the still. We had a great time visiting and would recommend a visit anytime for a tour or to pick up a bottle of top notch local spirits!

I can't believe I waited this long to discover Seven Troughs! I went this past Saturday with some friends because *thank you Yelp* I had won a bottle of Reno Rodeo Legacy Vodka at an event. We went to get the booze and take the tour. Oh, but there's tastings you say? I did not partake (someone has to drive!) but the tiwn and our friend sat down and sampled all the wares. They were most impressed by the Gin but found the Vodka to be quite smooth as well. The Moonshine..well that's an acquired taste. I plan on going back to try the Rum and a mixed cocktail or too. The best part of the visit was learning the history of moonshine in Nevada and hearing about the great lengths that Seven Troughs went to in order to replicate it. Bryce was an awesome guide on our adventure, his passion for the product shines through and made for a most enjoyable experience.

Wow! Where do I begin? Tom Adams is great, the first thing I really noted which is significant to me is that he is obviously very family focused. That might seem ironic to some but I definitely get it and appreciate it as well. Secondly, knowledgeable, patient, intelligent, and driven. Perhaps that was really two through 5 but you get it. He enjoys his craft, more importantly he cares about his community and the people he shares it with as well. I already touched on this but I'll reiterate anyway, intelligent and coupled with his passion he is industrious and crafty and determined. It took a lot of time to get where he is and he is deeply invested, more than a lot of people would spend their time to accomplish and he has done it well. May I add that, if I haven't conveyed already these are good people, they have good hooch and will show you how to make good cocktails with them. The how to class was very very cool!

Great tour of the facility, staff and owners are very knowledgable. They are quick to show and tell their passion of distilling. It is a little hard to find but with google maps and the right address the place was very easy to spot. When you walk in you are automatically greeted by the staff and the tasting room. You can get 3 free taste, and a small price of 5 dollars you can taste all that they have to offer. The staff went over each of the spirits with us and told us about the history of each piece. Then she took us for the tour of the facility, granted it is small, but they do great things with what they have. We bought their bourbon and other spirits afterwards. We will definitely come back for more.

Came in for an event and was completely ignored- twice! I've been here several time and love the place. I am completely disappointed as we left another event just to show support for the distillery :( will be a little before I come back. Left a bad taste in my mouth for sure.

Had a great time with my family tasting moonshine, vodka, and rum. Also got a very informative tour and description of Seven Troughs' distilling process from the woman working the tasting room. Seven Troughs spirits definitely have their own distinct tastes. The vodka was especially interesting and watch out for that moonshine! Fun gift ideas too. Come my dad's birthday I'm definitely thinking about getting him his own mini oak barrel to age whiskey in. Fun place and worth the visit!

Located directly off of Longley Ln and adjacent to S. McCarran Blvd in a rather hidden and industrial part of Reno, this place has been offering delicious cocktails/mocktails dating back to late-2023. One of my friends whom I've known (since around 2015) is a part-time employee here as she was the one that referred and recommended me to check it out. And let me tell all of you reading this review, I am glad I did! In addition to the amazingly glowing Yelp reviews, their website, https://underworlddistillery.com/ also has a ton of insight on their business including monthly specials, public calendar of events, bottled spirits (for purchase), an ever-changing menu, and a history of how their business originated. They are also accessible on all major social medial platforms that gives you up-to-date information of present and future events. This is a woman-owned business distillery and I will say that by looking at this place from the outside, I had no idea of what was going on the inside. The inside lounge area is by far one of the most elaborate, sophisticated, and painstakingly complex interiors of a business that I have ever come across. And I say that in a good way as you are wept away in a whole different world! Think of this as being in a haunting dark mansion that represents vampires, witchcraft, ghosts, skulls (protruding from the walls), and a ton of vintage decor throughout. For the full experience, I recommend coming here after the sun sets as being here at night only elevates the dark red lighting with 1930s-inspired furniture. If Halloween was celebrated on a daily basis, then this place has it down to a tee. Which takes me to the drinks! Many of their drinks are named after vampires and other forms of witches that includes "Charybdis' Blood", "Lilith's Daiquiri", "Witch's Cosmo", and much more. Since I decided on a mocktail, I tried their "A Midsummer Nights Drink" which included fresh jalapeño, mint, lime, saline, lemonade, and a dash of jalapeño salt) around the rim of the glass). This non-alcoholic elixir was absolutely delicious with the perfect ingredients to elevate my evening. Keep in mind that they are closed on Monday but are open Tuesday through Saturday from 4:00-10:00pm and Sunday from 12:00-5:00pm. During my visit which was the night of Thursday 7/2/2026 at around 9:15pm, there was quite a few people enjoying their libations. The ambiance is very chill as the mysterious silence of this place only adds to the character. So if you're into something absolutely different from your normal distillery, do yourself a favor and definitely check out "Underworld Distillery". My rating, a unanimous five stars.

There was another woman behind the counter but I forgot to ask for her name. They also hosted an awesome art vendor in their back room who was selling framed bugs and preserved skulls. I will absolutely go back when time permits. Don't let the location fool you. This is absolutely one of the premier bars in Northern Nevada.

When my buddy and his wife came into town for his birthday, it felt like the perfect excuse to finally make the trip. Spoiler: it did not disappoint. We arrived just after opening at 2pm and were immediately struck by the building -- it's genuinely beautiful, the kind of space that sets the tone before you've even had a drink. We were greeted by Ryan, who was professional, warm, and clearly passionate about what he does. The tour itself was one of the best I've been on. Ryan packed it with information -- not just about the distillery's process, but about the history of Minden and the Gardnerville area. It was engaging, educational, and genuinely fun. I walked away with stories and facts I'm still repeating to anyone who will listen. Our tasting covered four pours: vodka, single barrel, bourbon, and the Goodnight Bourbon. The regular bourbon lived up to everything that put this distillery on my map in the first place. But the real surprise of the day? The gin. I'll be honest -- I wasn't expecting much. But this gin is unlike anything I've tasted. It has earned a permanent spot in my home bar for those occasional gin martini nights. And if you have any love for espresso martinis, do yourself a favor and pick up a bottle of their coffee liqueur. It's exceptional. After the tasting, our group headed upstairs to the bar -- which, by the way, is open to everyone, no tour required. We ordered an espresso martini, a gin martini, and a meringue-tini. Each one was distinct and impressive in its own right. The bar staff couldn't have been better -- they had a real knack for highlighting each spirit in a way that spoke directly to your taste buds. It was the perfect way to close out the afternoon. Minden Mill is the kind of place that checks every box: great craft spirits, a stunning venue, an informative and entertaining tour, and a bar that keeps the good times going. Highly recommend making the trip. And when you go -- ask for Ryan.
