My friends and I came in the day after Christmas for our annual Boxing Day celebration. We typically hit a few spots for food and drinks and to support local businesses. I'd been dying to check it out for the holidays because I had seen on their social media and heard from friends about the fantastic decor and fun seasonal cocktail menu. It did NOT disappoint! It was a cozy little winter wonderland, complete with clear snow globe style domes out on the patio. We tried most of the holiday cocktails and every one was delicious and creatively served. Not that I expect anything less from Annalisa and the team. Year round they are slinging some of the best drinks in town. They were pretty packed, but she and Trevor worked the bar like a well-oiled machine, with a constant smile and their trademark great service. This is a neat spot in the winter time. They really went all out for decorations and the drink list did not disappoint. The beer selection is decent and tasty with the mixed drinks really taking center stage here. The selection is vast and there's something great for everyone! The food truck selection this evening was also amazing and complimented our drinks. I have been going to real estate events at 10 torr at happy hour time and the service is always great. The bartenders have good suggestions, seem to not get annoyed when you take longer, and make great drinks! Due to this, I have been frequenting more often as well as getting to go packs. Ran in for a quick visit to check out the Christmas Decorations and "WinTORR Wonderland," cleaver play on words.. I love 10 Torr's canned stuff, we always LOAD it up for camping trips so we wanted to try this out, and there was a food pop up as well. Food truck was Happy Cajun, and it was.. food. Nothing negative on 10 Torr here but my lord the wings were pure salt, and the fries were fries, not gonna toot any horns for bagged bacon bits. Anyway, back to 10 Torr. The Decorations were pretty awesome, but we were a little surprised that the Christmas Wonderland didn't have Christmas music. But hey I can listen to 90's alternative all day so you win this round. As far as the drinks we went straight to the holiday cocktails. First off the Purple Pill Snaquitizer shot, actually super fun. Trippy color, strong Ube taste, loved it. The Snoop Noggy Nog was our favorite by far, specifically because it wasn't such an overload of cream like standard Egg Nog. I have to throw some shade at the Angry Elf, we both agreed that taste straight up like Pandan Cigarette... curious if that comes from the mint component being Branca. The Griswolds Old Fashioned will definitely pass with Old Fashioned drinkers, but it was definitely missing any taste of gingerbread at all, was hoping that would shine through a bit. Last drink we had was the Hot Buttered Rum, while this was a tasty drink, it was not a Hot Buttered Rum by any stretch of the imagination. This came off more like a Hot Buttered Latte. Like I said, taste wise actually good if that's the direction you want, but it's not a hot buttered rum in the classic sense at all. All in all though, 10 Torr is still a great place, I have a few different bottles at home, and their canned options are undefeated. Service was great as always, the bartender was handling the entire place pretty much to herself which seemed a bit overwhelming, but was just crushing it with a smile. read more

Another holiday season in the bag, another fun, festive reason to pop in to Winter WonTORRland! The bar was absolutely dripping with decor on everything that would stand still. I had called ahead to see if they were doing the Miracle pop up (and they weren't) but was assured they had Santa's spirit on speed dial, so away we went! They were not wrong, it was a whole vibe. But this is where the bah humbug kicked in. We arrived about 6ish on a Thurs evening to a *packed* bar. And I mean PACKED. They were having a company holiday party or the like, and it was just crowded and noisy, and no seating was really available, but many of the tables had reserved signs on them. Drinks here aren't cheap, but the ambiance makes up for it. Tonight wasn't it. Honestly, since I had already called, if the person I spoke to had said, "hey, we're hosting a company event, it's packed in here", we might have chosen another night. Service was pretty slow; clearly the focus was on the group event. The person next to me said, "I think she (bartender) forgot about us". And that pretty much summed it up. The final nail in Rudolph's hoof was finding a congealed chunk of something gelatinous in the bottom of my 'nog. Egg yolk, dirty glass debris, gelatin? Yuck. We had 1 drink and left. Better luck for us next year, we'll be working on that nice-ish list! read more

10 Torr is an awesome bar spot in the downtown Reno area. I have always made a stop at 10 Torr on my yearly brewery hopping around Reno. Most recently, I stopped for a quick birthday gathering on a Saturday while a football playoff game was finishing up. The drinks at 10 Torr are amazing. The canned cocktails that can be found all over the Northern Nevada area are on tap here and sold as to-go options. Their lavender lemonade is a true gem and a 10 Torr staple. The beers here are also very good. I've never really had anything I disliked. I love that 10 Torr has a great outdoor space, though I've never been able to use it as the weather during my visits never supports my outdoor attractions. I also love that they are one of few bars that have a full size shuffleboard table. Such a great game to play with a smaller group. My only complaint, though not enough to detract a star, is that I've had several issues on different occasions with the bartenders here being rude or acting irritated. I often come here with larger groups, which I know can be difficult to manage and serve, but isn't a busy bar what you want? 10 Torr is still a worthy stop in Reno and makes a great date spot or option for those who aren't just beer drinkers. This distillery is a must if you come to Reno! They have the best cocktail drinks and you can even grab some in their fridge to go in packs of 4. My favorites are the "spill the tea", "pack punch" and the "lavender lemonade." I thought the way they designed the inside was great with lots of bar seating and tables. The service was also great as the employees were great at taking orders quickly and getting us ringed up for our to go cocktails as well. Our first visit...yeah, took a while. Great location in an up and coming area of Reno, the place a super cool vibe, wide open and a great selection of libations, from spirits, to brews to canned cocktails (available retail for those toasty summer days!)...something for everyone! It was the perfect spot for a rainy Saturday. Parking can be a bit sparse, as they have a small lot, but decent amount of street parking. Lots of options, so make sure to put this in your bar rotation. TVs, shuffleboard and nice patio area for warmer weather. Dog friendly, just leave the kids at home. Friendly wait staff, offered tastings of their spirits and beers. Tried their gin (recovering gineologist!) and had just the right notes of aromatics and nice balanced flavor. Had them make a G & T (they make their own tonic, so I'm told). Super refreshing,! Followed up with an Ol Town Brown...dark chocolate, full bodied, perfect for a chilly day! It was such a cute way to get in the spirit during mom's night out! I had the Big Mittens, which was essentially whisky and pear and it was delicious, but the margarita was hit and miss around the table -- one girl had a much different coconut ratio in hers than everyone else and it definitely gave sunscreen vibes, yuck.
