Judy exudes a command over her work, one that a client could rest their faith in. She is not pushy, not stressed out, and can be seamlessly flexible in the moment. Elegant woman too. Vibes well with people Her experience showed. Somehow, the folks who I never thought would be on the dance floor danced, people danced the whole night. She correctly and smartly put the right songs in a the right times. The vibe stayed alive. Seriously folks, this night was like magic. My wedding is the best day of my life. We were immediately greeted by a gentleman at the door who explained the whole process step by step since this was our first time. He was very helpful all around and checked on us periodically. It's quite private and quiet, with our private bathroom with a shower-tub off a small shared foyer. The hosts maintain a quaint old-fashioned decor of wood walls and furnishings, comfortable chairs with bright knick-knacks here and there. The queen-size bed was firm, with convenient electrical outlets speedy wifi and for us modern travelers. The room was warm, with a small fan that I used early-on. The window had a pretty curtain that kept the room dark and private. There are nearby restaurants, bars, and cafes, including a nice modern Italian and pizza restaurant steps from here, and a delicious Mexican restaurant and taco-bar a short walk south in Shaker Square. The hosts are delightful and communicative. There's a small refrigerator, and they provided coffee k-cups, and teabags. Keep in mind that there's no microwave. Just a week after our previous visit here, we made sure that we our drive brought us back to The Flying Crane Inn on our way home. The hosts met us as we arrived, even though we were heading out immediately for dinner with friends. The room was sparkling clean again, as it always is. When left early in the morning for a long drive to our next stop, the hosts made time for friendly conversation, and they thoughfully packed our continental breakfast to go! In years past these same owners ran a lovely little café here, and they still have a patio garden that can be used for weddings or events. We love these hosts and their Inn :-) We felt very welcome and well-taken-care-of. We will always look here first when we visit Larchmere and Shaker! Significant museum holdings document the life and development of Ukrainian immigrants and their contributions to America, as well as ongoing worldwide developments in the present day. Of particular interest to many will be the extensive catalog collection of Ukrainian Pysanky eggs, which are categorized by region of Ukraine. Each region having distinctive decorative differentiations that relate to local customs, traditions, familial and belief structures. Housed in a separate building to the rear of the main museum, which is a house, is a meeting facility where lectures and presentations are frequently given. Ukrainian community meetings are also held here. This building houses collections of Ukrainian artwork, and an extensive historic library of books by Ukrainian authors, historic Ukrainian language, newspapers, and other publications from both Ukraine and United States. In a slow but steady manner, this collection is in the midst of a digitization process. The holdings are extensive, and so I would expect that this will take a significant amount of time and resource to accomplish. A gift shop is operated which contains a variety of cultural items, pysanky egg making supplies, books, and literature, jewelry, and clothing. There is a large historic park just across the street from the museum. Many historic buildings are in the neighborhood and it is worth some time to drive or walk around to have a look at them. This will give visitors a great feel for what being a member of the Ukrainian community has been like historically.

Now, Harness Collective, a female-owned real estate company, bought the building in 2022. I got to tour the renovated space before they opened back in early 2023. The building's exterior on Detroit Ave. is beautiful with its striking windows and arches. BUSINESSES -- The lower level includes Harness Cycle (indoor cycling/spinning studio) and Patron Saint and Bar (cafe inspired by Italy but not necessarily serving 100% Italian food). The upper level on the 2nd floor includes Soul Yoga (a yoga studio) and The Matriarchy (a female owned event and co-working space that has private offices). Luuma wellness spaces opened in the basement of the Vitrolite in early 2026 for small business to rent (business such as acupuncture, massage, and therapists). EVENTS -- There are always fun events happening. I got to visit the Matriarchy CoWorking space in December 2025 when they offered a free co-working day in collaboration with Anoteka Design business who was the host for the day. I had a lovely time and even saw a friend there who also works remote. I've been to Harness Cycle plenty of times in the Vitrolite building as they were the first tenant back in 2023. The architecture and history of this building are impressive. Currently the Vitrolite serves as a community space for businesses and entrepreneurs since 2023. TENANTS: The Vitrolite is a brain child of Harness Cycle owners. Inside you'll find Harness Cycle (cycling studio), Patron Saint (Italian cafe), Soul Space (gorgeous yoga studio), the Matriarchy (event and co-working space designed for women, Sisu (seasonal Finnish sauna). Exciting developments constantly get added to this space such as upcoming spa portion. Many prominent local business owners plan events here or participate in offerings. It's beautiful to witness! SERVICE: This entire center has consistently amazing customer service. Every business is very community-oriented, owners and employee welcoming and kind. PARKING: Street parking is available in the area, but can get scarce during events (sports or local). Parking lots are available at Church and State, Transformer Station. I love to attend events and frequent businesses at the Vitrolite. It's a getaway of sorts to enjoy fitness, relaxation, and delicious food. I highly recommend a visit! I'm already planning the next trip to Vitrolite to visit the Finnish sauna.
