I liked the idea in the future of doing a complete diagnoses of this 1976 house electrical system! They were quick to respond when I asked for their help and got back to me as soon as they had an opening. I will use them again. 5 stars! SJTS

I contacted Chesapeake Electric after the outlets and switches on one circuit in my home stopped…read moreworking. The technicians arrived as scheduled, acted professionally, and explained that the outlets on the circuit had not been pigtailed when the home was originally wired. They identified separated wiring and signs of overheating in some locations, including burned drywall behind certain outlet covers. I initially paid an $85 service fee and then more than $500 for a more extensive assessment. After that assessment, I was given an estimate exceeding $2,500 to address approximately 10 outlets and switches on the circuit. I was told that the entire circuit needed to be corrected and that they could not determine which individual outlets were causing the problem. When I asked whether only the damaged locations could be repaired, I was told that was not an option. After I paid a deposit toward the proposed work, the technicians disconnected and capped three affected outlets and restored power to the remainder of the circuit. This raised questions for me about why the entire circuit had initially been presented as needing immediate repair. When I asked about repairing only those three locations, I was quoted more than $500 per location. Whole-home premium surge protection and service-plan memberships were also recommended. By coincidence, another electrician was working at a neighboring home that day. He identified himself as a master electrician, inspected the issue, and gave me a different professional opinion. He told me that the entire circuit did not need to be replaced. In his assessment, the three affected locations needed repair and the remaining outlets on the circuit could be pigtailed. He estimated approximately $700 for the work. I then contacted Chesapeake Electric's office and asked to cancel the deposit. The manager listened to my concerns, spoke with the technicians, and called me back. He explained the company's reasoning and said the broader electrical work could be beneficial if the home were inspected in the future. However, that explanation did not resolve my concerns about the difference in the proposed scope and pricing. I also received appointment and follow-up text messages from someone identifying himself as "Mike." Based on the wording and interaction, the messages appeared to be generated through an automated or artificial-intelligence service. However, the messages did not disclose that I might be communicating with AI rather than a real employee. I found that confusing and uncomfortable. In my opinion, customers should be clearly informed when appointment scheduling or follow-up communications are being handled by an automated AI system. Although the technicians were courteous and professional while at my home, I was not comfortable proceeding after receiving such a substantially different assessment and estimate from another electrician. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend obtaining at least one independent second opinion before approving costly electrical work, memberships, or additional services.

Wow I'm a little late on this review. I found out about Fusting Electric. Through another website…read more Not sure if I'm supposed to post the name But I'm so glad I did! Let me say Stephen is a master electrician. I wanted to purchase a hot tub for my backyard and he gave me some good recommendations for checking out credentials on the so- called electricians. Which some are only handymen. I saw his licensed info and knew that was where I needed to be. I contacted him and he gave me an estimate. Actually first let's go back. He had to check out what was needed in my house to prepare for his job. That visit was free. He then sent an estimate on the cost of everything. Which was very reasonable. He came and placed his electrical box out back near the hot tub. With every detail that was needed. He returned to finish the job of connecting the hottub. Every thing was great! They cleaned up behind themselves. Which is also an important part of the completion of the job. I highly recommend Fusting. I also will be using him again for the replacements of some electrical outlets that I have in different areas of the house. This is a family business which I'm sure will continue to expand. His wife also keeps in touch with any updates on his arrival. I wish them the best with their family business!

Stephen arrived on time with an apprentice for 2 days of work which included installing receptacles for a car lift, garage fridge, and air compressor in addition to the EV charger and range. The work was done to my husband's high standards and the cost was very reasonable! Both Ceanne, who came out to survey the home for the work, and Stephen are up front and communicate well, which made us very comfortable. Would definitely request for another job again! :)

Ray and his assistant Kyle arrived ahead of schedule. I received calls from both the office and Ray relating to me that they were on their way and should arrive in 20 minutes. We have recently built a screened in porch on the back of our house and we needed wiring for outlets, a fan and a tv. We also needed spotlights put up on our house. Ray was quick to give us a firm cost on the job that was reasonable given the extensive work that needed to be done. After my acceptance, they quickly got to work. They were fastidious in their work and even threw out the empty tv box and fan box for us. Both Ray and Kyle were concerned that I was happy with the end product. We discussed the positioning of all the outlets and receptacles to make sure that they all were functional for what I needed and what I had envisioned. This necessitated several calls to my girlfriend to confirm what she wanted. Ray was very patient while I made the calls. When they left there was no trace they had been there other than the completed electrical work. They both were professional, efficient and friendly throughout the time they spent at our house. If you have any electrical needs, look no further. I highly recommend Haas and Sons. You won't be disappointed!
