We celebrated my mother's birthday at The Point this weekend, and it was a great experience! The service was friendly and attentive, and the extra-large crabs were served hot, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The waterfront setting created the perfect ambiance for the celebration. The jalapeño biscuits were absolutely amazing, and we also ordered the wings and a burger--everything was delicious. No notes! On a blazing hot day, I decided to finally try out my boss' recommendation for waterside dining fun. The area crab lovers like myself have been to Mike's, Cantlers and Harris' across the Bay Bridge but for some reason "The Point" had missed my radar. What we found out is, you better get there early because they don't take reservations and they fill up FAST!!! They open at 11am and we arrived at 1 and there was already an hour wait. Luckily, there was an open bar pub table that just vacated so the crab Gods were working in our favor!! Lol :)) The pub tables are attached to the bar so you have to order from the bar.. No big deal for me but she didn't care for it.. Lol. I was amazed at how reasonable the prices were for XL Crabs and was wondering if they really were XL for $140 a dozen? I'm thrilled to report, these were the best crabs I've had in memory. Big, meaty and sweet.. Omg!!! We could not get over the amount of meat that were coming out of these things and they were delicious!!!! The Point has become my favorite dine in crab spot in just one visit. Didn't take enough pictures! Definitely adding this to one of my favorite crab spots. Being from DC/MD, we all know how seriously we take our blue crabs...and The Point delivered! I wanted to rate 5 stars, but not offering reservation service, in my opinion, is a disservice. You will literally have to arrive when the restaurant opens to get a seat; otherwise, 1.5 - 2 hour wait. The Point sits on the water where you can sail in with your boat. While the water isn't Caribbean blue, it's still pretty. The vibes are definitely there. We indulged in a dozen XL crabs and goodness! They were packed with meat. Sweet! Another critique is that if you sit in the bar area, be prepared to walk up to the bar to place your drink and other orders. Not sure why that's a thing, but I didn't like it. Will be back for sure. Would give it an extra star if I could Location is perfect, absolutely serene on the water in a perfect cut out for an enjoyable dining experience. Very beautiful waterfront restaurant and bar setting with indoor and outdoor seating. Service was excellent with a very attentive staff who had great recommendations. The food was out of this world delicious - my only complaint is that I was so full and couldn't finish my dessert ; but worth it! I have kind of been a Point food hater in the past but consider them redeemed! The shrimp ceviche is DELICIOUS! I want to recreate for a summer dinner party. The crab cake sandwiches were really good, naturally, but could really benefit from an actual quality/more substantial bun. The potato bun was far too mushy for this sammy. Visited this spot for a family dinner, and it was okay. It was busy, and we added our name to the waitlist. However, there is nowhere to really stand and wait, so we had to wait outside in the freezing cold. The wait was also a lot longer than the estimate given that we almost left to go to another restaurant. Then once inside, it was so cold! There was only one area where the heater really warmed up the restaurant. You could tell everyone was just uncomfortably cold and wearing their coats and outside gear inside to try to stay warm. I got the chicken & biscuits as it was recommend by the server. However, it was so dry. It was hard to get through and eat. If I came back, I'd definitely get something else and wait until it was warm out. read more

Food is amazing the oysters Rockefeller were hot and yummie. The fishe and chips were crisp and tastey. My daughter had a burger. Which was done well. Even though she likes medium rare. She loved the burger. Mom had gazpacho was not really happy with that special that was on the menu. Nothing but tomatoe soup no veggies like a true Spanish gazpacho. They need to work on that. More sports bar food choices than creative seafood options for happy hour - fried pickles, wings, pretzels, crab dip, mussels... but good beer and wine offerings, and such enthusiastic and welcoming service!! Wonderful crab cakes! Bleu cheese coleslaw to die for! I will definitely be back! Restaurant is on the water and has both inside and outside seating. I was visiting with my college friends on Friday and we went to The Point for dinner. It was rainy so we couldn't sit outside, but the views looked great! Our waiter, Kenny, gave us some great recommendations of items to split. We went with 2 flatbreads: pear and prosciutto and bbq shrimp. The bbq shrimp one was my favorited loaded with my flavor. The pear one was lighter but still super fresh. We also got wings, crab dip, and friend pickles. The wings were crispy and juicy, and they had a great ranch on the side. I don't love fried pickles normally but these were thick cut and had a nice coating. Looking forward to going back when the weather is nicer! read more

After visiting several times I can honestly say the food is just okay. The view and atmosphere is what you come back for. Most of the crab menu items are good. The old bay/crab wings were dry, and needed old bay. The cream of crab 1/2 and 1/2 was the best thing at our table. Fish tacos were mediocre. Can't believe the hype for this place. Granted we did not get crabs but it was not a good experience. Our group of 4 wanted to try it out. We knew it would be busy at around 5:30 on a nice Saturday but we figured we would hang at the bar for drinks and appetizers until our table was ready. The bar was fine. We got a half lb of steamed shrimp and an order of crab dip which were both good. After our hour and a half wait we got to our table. Our server was great. She was knowledgeable of the menu and prompt with drinks and ordering despite it being busy. Now the bad. I asked our server if any of the entrees came with sides. She said they didn't not. OK , who are they trying to be, Ruth's Chris? Anyway, I figured I'd order off the section "food for the table" or something like that. Since we didn't have bread I decided to order the Jalepeno cornbread assuming it was a basket of cornbread with 4 pieces for the table. Out came ONE 3 inch by 3 inch piece of cornbread soggy from a bunch of honey poured on top. The taste was nothing special and it was mushy. One piece for $8 like it was a dessert or something. Next were the entrees. One person ordered the skewered beef tenderloin. He is a regular steak eater and said it was OK but nothing special. My wife ordered the seared sesame crusted ahi tacos. She wanted the cilantro lime on the side as some places drench their tacos. Unfortunately the tuna had no taste and the Asian slaw was simply white cabbage with nothing on it. Hard to mess up fish tacos but they did it. I had the special which was salmon over a pasta salad. It had some dollop of cream on top. Didn't taste like much and the pasta salad was basically macaroni salad. Mayo based, not much taste. For $42 I had hoped the special would have been more special. Lastly a burger cooked medium. Stuff happens in the kitchen and unfortunately the burger came out rare. The server was very apologetic and talked to the manager and he/she comped a beer for the person who ordered the burger. They redid the burger and it came out medium but was very crumbly and didn't hold together. She wasn't mean and said it was no big deal. But she didn't eat it. After a bad experience with a rare burger she just wasn't hungry anymore. Now to be fair, they removed the burger from the bill. So all in all, the server was great, they place TRIED to make things right, but the food simply was underwhelming to not good. We won't be back. read more

Really cute spot with tons of seating right on the water. Good spot for large groups, however they do not split checks. Drinks were great--I had a watermelon refresher! I also really loved the whipped feta. Service was painfully slow, though. It took almost 20 minutes just to put in drink orders, and despite us having a large group, the server refused to take food orders at the same time as apps, so it was a longggg process of ordering a round of drinks, then apps, then food. read more

Didn't hesitate to make good use of our family's hour long wait with a glass of sangria and pineapple crush. The crush was so good I barely saw it but I took my time with the sangria and had no regrets. I will say the hostess(es) here have a slight case of RBF and I noticed we had to ask for a few things I would think they might offer to guests with kids and even on our way out, they forgot to give guests bags for our various leftovers (which is small but just something I noticed as we were struggling). Even still, the wait moved fast and the food was so good. The crab soup and crostinis were delightful and everything you'd expect. The crabs were a crowd pleaser and our fish & chips fell apart beautifully. You can't complain too much with the view that they have and people are able to do many water sports nearby but still worth it to mention because it's not a cheap check. Would still recommend despite the slightly cold welcome & goodbye when I asked for my bag. For that, I'll bump my review up just a TAD bit more. read more

The atmosphere is perfect for Maryland Only heads up--if you're coming for the large or XL crabs, get here EARLY. We arrived around 3:00 on a Sunday and they were already sold out, so we had mediums. Good service and ambiance. Food is excellent but was not as good as it was last time. Probably because the crabs are not in season, but it may have just been less than amazing crab dish. I came for my birthday. The point has traditionally been a 10/10 on crab cakes, usually the best in the world. This time the crab cakes were only 9.2/10, which for the money, you expect more. Jumbo lump crab dip needed more crab but had incredible taste. I will definitely give the point another shot. Traditionally the crab cakes are unbelievable and I will give it another chance. Sweet spot at the marina for lunch. Came here in the middle of winter but bet it's a hoppin' place during the summer with all the outdoor seating. Food was hot and ample in serving size and tasted great. I'm more of a Pacific Northwest crab girl but anything with crab is good. Loved my crab soup. The menu had great options to choose from including our order of fish and chips, cheddar biscuits, chicken wings, chicken tenders, ahi tuna salad and other menu items that is slipping my mind. Put your name on the waitlist online ahead of time! Wait was quoted 45 to an hour and was almost exactly 45 minutes, but we didn't mind waiting. I ordered the cod fish tacos and these were delicious! They are absolutely messy to eat, but they're very good. There was live music on a Wednesday which was cute. The server didn't come over much once we had our food, so the only thing I didn't love was how long it took to get the check and boxes. Otherwise, was super cute and delish! read more

No vegan options. Waitress confirmed that the kale salad was vegan without Parmesan cheese because the dressing only contained olive oil and lemon juice. However, the salad came out with a white, creamy dressing. Although the chef confirmed the dressing was vegan, my stomach said otherwise. I suspect there was mayonnaise in the green goddess dressing. Lovely location, great service but questionable crab pricing/availability. We drove from Baltimore and dealt with an hour long wait (you should definitely "join the waitlist" online before arriving btw) which was fine however, only medium crabs were available at 4:15 pm on a Saturday. The waitress explained that they only sell the larger sizes after mediums sell out. I've never experienced this before and was disappointed. The mediums we got were $100/dozen and probably should've been $80 to be honest . 3 of the 6 I had were great, the others were good. I recommend because of location, service and overall vibe and plan on returning (and getting larger crabs!) read more

Food & service were good! We went for a late lunch around 2:30pm. The restaurant had the sides closed and it was nice and toasty inside. We ordered drinks. My husband ordered the "754" IPA which he said was good. I got the "gin & jam" Which was very heavy on the gin and not a whole lot of the berry jam flavor. I didn't order a second. Fried pickles always hit the spot here. Only place I know that does thick slices like that. Not spears or pickle chips. Oysters were great! They had your typical horseradish and cocktail sauce. But they also had vinegar & onion sort of garnish that you could add on top. That was fun! Baltimore girl here and never had that served w oysters. It was good! Soup was okay. Nothing to rave about. The fried cornbread dessert was actually really good. Server said it sounds funny but is good so we got it, two pieces of fried cornbread w ice cream in the middle. WOW! I was definitely a bit pessimistic about this place because people raved about the view and ambiance, but rarely discussed the food. However, I must say, I was pleasantly surprised! They had their game faces on and their best staff (FOH and BOH) working, because they crushed! The fries were crispy and well seasoned; salads were crisp, fresh, and not over-dressed; crab cakes were banging! kids chicken tenders were soooooo trendy yet crispy and drinks were on pointe (get it? hah).
