This place is unexpectedly happening. Stayed at the hotel in which this place resides, Sea Cliff Inn, for two nights and both nights had live music and people dancing. Food was good, had the pan seared salmon. Server was kinda lost (nothing new in this world nowadays with good help being hard to find) and could not get me an answer on where the salmon was from or what kind but overall dining experience was good. We chose outdoor and were directed to a tight table right next to the building, but we asked to move to a larger table closer to the pretty koi pond. No problem. The service was great. We all ended up getting the happy hour fish tacos and some cocktails. I had the fried fish tacos and they were okay, could have used more salt or flavor somehow. I went there with my wife and we just finished cleaning our santa clara apartment all day. I went to the bartender there, there was no room at the bar. He was rude and rudely stared at me the whole time. The place was mildly busy . I ordered a drink and asked the waiter for a small sample tasting of new beer, the waiter is gone for twenty minutes, what seemed like a decade. Then small sample comes, I taste it and tell him yes I would love that beer , another ten minutes go by, waited comes and asks if we want food, I told him we wanted food, but will go to a bar that can properly serve us. The bartender still eye balls me more and makes me and the wife feel uncomfortable. iWe leave, I leave waiter three dollar tip for our two happy hour drinks. I never felt so uncomfortable after a long day, as that bartender made me feel. i never waited that long for two simple drinks. on a scale of 1 to five , I give them a minus five. Horrible service. This is a pretty good restaurant. The food was nicely prepared, fresh & tasty; salmon was cooked to perfection. The dessert, however, kind of ruined it for me. First item on dessert menu was crème brûlée - my favorite! Unfortunately the top was still in raw sugar crystal form, and the custard under that layer of sugar was somewhat frozen. As soon as food was delivered, we never saw the waiter again. Drinks and waters went empty. I walked inside to order another drink. I used to come here with my friends every Monday before covid, then after covid a new manager came in, and changed a lot of it. The food used to be way better before the new manager, however just because there is a new manager still dosent mean I won't come here once in a while. The new manager made renovations and it looked better, the ambiance is overall great, and I recommend for a small outing with friends! read more

I stood at the entrance and I waited for 10 minutes to be seated (there were other people already seated and eating breakfast). Finally I was seated. I saw two young workers come in and out from the back of the restaurant. One was helping other guest, while the other one just walked around aimlessly. After sitting at the the table for 10 minutes (no menu given, nor any acknowledgment), I left. It was not crowded or busy. Such a shame. The restaurant is decorated beautifully. I used to stay here for work when it was Best Western and it was very reasonable. I stayed there a couple weeks ago and did not realize how expensive it is now. $20 for 3 tacos really! My husband went in for breakfast this morning. First of all, while the room is pretty, it was cold (people want a warm room to have breakfast in) and the seats at the tables were very hard and uncomfortable. He was seated by an "older" gentleman and asked if he'd like coffee. He said "yes, with cream and sugar." He brought the sugar and attempted to pour the coffee, which just trickled down. So he put his finger in the pot (!) to try to open it up more. It didn't work, so he went to get another pot. He came back and poured the coffee, but still did not bring the cream. Then the waitress came by and asked if he'd like to place his order. He said he would really like some cream for his coffee first. She left and came back and asked if he had gotten his cream. He said " no," and she replied with "he didn't bring it to you?!?" He finally got the cream and ordered steak and eggs (it does not come with toast, which would've been an extra five dollars!). The steak was thin and fatty, and the potatoes were burnt. So after a very unsatisfactory breakfast, he was left with a $40.(!) bill. The music was so loud that we couldn't enjoy ourselves. We asked the band to lower their volume and they turned it up instead. The employees also complained that they were also experiencing ringing in their ears. We moved to the dining room and still had to put ear plugs in our ears while we ate our dinner. They really need to do something about this. It's very annoying and not enjoyable. My ears will be ringing for the rest of the weekend. It didn't used to be like this before Hilton took over. They need to put sound buffers in the ceiling to buffer the sound. Osha requires that bands keep their music below 85 decibels. read more

We were also staying at the hotel for the night. I made a reservation online, wandered over to the restaurant, got seated quickly. The menu was well written, a lot of good options. We got some pastas, tacos, and appetizers to start. I honestly was pretty surprised. Food was fresh, well seasoned and has a great 'farm to table' vibe. The tacos were a little bit dry but it's ok. The pastas were super tasty. There was a little bit of confusion over one of the dishes but the server got it fixed very quickly. Wonderful service, despite how busy the restaurant was! It seemed like they were a little understaffed but we didn't feel neglected or anything which means they were doing a good job! Which is why I occasionally try it again, and again. 1st time was extremely slow, but ok. 2nd time was seated for 30 mins with no water or any acknowledgment at all. (Wasn't busy at all). The table next to us sent the food back because it was cold. 3rd time was take out, never came to bring our food to the lobby. Waited and had to go searching for the order. We decided to have our New Years Day dinner here. It was a place we went to for many celebrations in the past. I have to say it was extremely disappointing. Our server was friendly and nice, but the food was like that of a hospital cafeteria. The bread smelled like mildew. Which is a deal breaker for an Italian family! The salad was whilted, the 38 dollar tiny filet mignon came back under cooked and on a plate with French fries cooked in old oil and no vegetables. I've had better meals at Applebee's. The mashed sweet potatoes looked like baby food and tasted like cafeteria food from a convalescent hospital. They were out of salmon and didn't offer any specials.
