SoGood. SoNice. Perfect! We've been here during its lowest time and returned to see they made the adjustment LESSON LEARNED!

BLT with avocado and fries. Served on sourdough bread.

Got to try Sevys for my first time ever on a trip to Aptos. & I have to say I was highly impressed. I went during dinner time around 5 ish & got the BLT which my incredible waiter made an exception because this is usually not an option for dinner. & they are my absolute favorite! I got the BLT with sourdough bread with avocado as an add on with a side of fries. & Sevys went above & beyond by grilling my BLT to perfection! This was also a first and also how I'll probably always order my BLTs from now on :) They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating has plenty of space, a bar area, and i believe tvs. The outdoor overlooks a beautiful koi pond with a waterfall, heaters for night time & they do allow pets to join you on the outdoor dining seating. Food is incredibly wonderful with a variety menu and accomodating prices. I definitely recommend their specials & trying out Sevys if you've never been and are vacationing the Santa Cruz/Aptos area :)

Such a charming spot for breakfast! I ordered the eggs Benedict and a Bloody Mary, and both were excellent, perfectly made and full of flavor. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, with a beautiful view of the ponds that made it the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful morning meal. I'd definitely come back to start my day here again if I was in town

I Yelped my way to this wonderful well stocked bar and kitchen during my recent business travels in the SFO Bay Area. I decided to celebrate my successful outing that landed me at the outskirts of the SFO Area and I truly enjoyed the ambiance inside this now Hilton owned establishment. The unique decor of the Sea cliffInn Aptos Tapestry Collection, by Hilton. A beautiful, quant, upscale look that matches this beach community. Victor the bartender helped me discover a great local lager beer from Monterey, CA and set me up with a top shelf shot of Mexican Tequila that set my attitude into a blessing of gratitude! His recommendation of house made tacos also were spot on! I had one salmon and two Braised Short Rib Tacos with fresh Avocado & all the fresh slaw, salsa & pickled onion toppings. I added a slice of cheesecake to go, but could not wait to eat it once I got to my car! lol! (The cheesecake was very good but not at the five star level as the rest of my evening. Thus I will just give it a 3.5 separate Star Rating) That way I can whole heartedly post my Five Star Dining experience, with my awesome beverages, delicious food and Victors stellar service! Definitely Bookmarking this Hotel on my future Hilton list of places to stay in Cali. YELPTASTIC!

Probably some of the best "hotel" food I've had in a very long time! We were here in August and temperatures were perfect for a late outdoor lunch. The view was relaxing and the service was very good too.

Great service, today's special was this massive burger, and they had the Dubs game on.

This place is aesthetically really appealing but doesn't deliver on the promise that meets the eye. I came here with a handful of coworkers for a casual breakfast. We were greeted fairly quickly and the service was friendly and efficient. So, I give stars for that part. The ambience here is upscale but casual. The bar area and surrounding seating is really attractive and there seems to be a good amount of attention to detail going into decor. The seats themselves aren't the most comfortable but they're not bad either. 4 out of 5 stars. The menu highlights that the restaurant "proudly showcases California central coast" and partners with regional farms. I'm always happy supporting "local" so this place gets another gold star from me. 5/5. The disappointing part of my visit is unfortunately related to the food itself. Effort goes into the presentation of the dish but it feels clumsy and unnecessary. My breakfast burrito was cut in half and presented with a small side of the salsa. The salsa lacked any real flavor and more closely resembled a tomato purée than a real salsa. I don't always need my salsa to be spicy but I couldn't pick up on onion, salt, lime, or garlic which would have elevated it beyond what was presented. Was the burrito "bad" per se? No. Was it good? Also; no. I have a pet peeve with pre-cutting my burritos. It would've been nice to have been asked if I wanted the burrito cut because, once it's sliced open, things tend to spill out and get messy. I'm able to look past that though as I'm sure this doesn't bother some people and it's likely just one of my idiosyncrasies. The real disappointment was how runny the eggs seemed to be and how underdone the potatoes and veggies were. Part of the potatoes were still translucent, signaling that they were most definitely underdone. The bell peppers are fine raw but if they were roasted, that would have elevated the flavor of this burrito. The chipotle Crema is oddly sweet. So as I bite into my burrito, I was met with overly gooey ingredients and a sweet-ish aftertaste. I tried draining the burrito in the salsa, but this just added a tomato flavor to the burrito and little to no spice to help balance things out. I can truly only give this burrito one out of five stars and the food is without question, the most important part of any restaurant. The "boardwalk breakfast" plates my companions ordered, looked better prepared and I regret not following suit and ordering that with them. A couple of things could have also been done better in terms of the breakfast selection. Include a slice of toast with the boardwalk breakfast. There are so many great bakeries in the area that I'm sure it would be easy to find a partner that could find a great accompaniment to this dish. We ordered some toast on the side but it was far too much bread for a "side". Rather than charging $5 for a stack of toast, it would be nice to offer a single piece of toast as an add-on. Some items allow additional ingredients to be added for a dollar each and this should be a no-brainer. Overall, I'm struggling with rating this spot between a two or a three. I wish 2.5 stars was an option but because so many of the food issues are easily fixable, we'll round up to a 3. I'm not sure if I'll be back for the breakfast again because there are some fantastic local spots nearby that offer more for less. Hopefully, my experience was just a one off and others enjoy their meals more.

    Tropical AF cocktail
    Karen Rae S.

We are staying here at the Seacliff Inn for a few days and enjoyed our late lunch. It was relaxing to sit outside by the koi pond. I had a Tropical AF cocktail and we had the Brussels/shishitos, roasted garlic/brie plate, and clam chowder. The Brussels/shishitos were actually a large dish in a sauce that made it feel more like a vegetarian entree than a small plate, though very tasty. Texture-wise I would have preferred it a little more dry- but that's my preference for an appetizer. My son said the clam chowder was good. I loved the garlic/brie plate. Cocktail was good. We were told to seat ourselves but it took awhile for someone to give us a menu. Finally someone from the bar came and after that service was great!

The counter service female was very nice and helpful. The sandwich was very good and we've eaten there many times in the past. When we both sat down to eat we noticed that our sandwich hadn't been cut in half. My girlfriend went back to the counter and asked a male kitchen employee behind the counter if he could cut our sandwich in half. The sandwich was completely wrapped in paper and we did not unwrap it at all prior to asking for it to be cut. His response was extremely rude and nasty. He claimed that it was already contaminated despite the fact that it was still completely wrapped in paper. He acted like we were putting him out by us asking him to simply cut the sandwich in half. He accused my girlfriend of "contaminating" the sandwich (in his words) just by touching it despite the fact that it was handled by 2 people before we even touched it. Basically, it was his scolding condescending tone that totally turned us off to ever visiting this place again. It only takes one lazy a--hole employee to ruin a great dining experience.

I had the spicy Devil's Ginger vodka martini with the calamari appetizer and with dinner, the Lava Top Sauvignon Blanc ($13), a perfect complement to the swordfish. My swordfish was perfectly sautéed in a tapenade beurre blanc sauce ($40) with deliciously creamy and decadent polenta and buttery chopped bok choy. The way they served the bok choy was perfect- never change it. It was artsy, buttery and didn't look wilted. My son had the grilled boneless pork chops (two boneless chops) with fries and smoky beans ($28), loved. He devoured the berry fruit crisp à la mode for dessert ($12) and I had two small bites: It was like granola over compote with ice cream. I didn't complain. The best part was the incredibly flawless service. We could have felt rushed dining since it was towards the end of service. Instead, Genevieve paced the meal perfectly so we felt spoiled and unrushed. Next visit I would love to dine in their "secret garden" courtyard; it was beautiful. Their 'secret garden' would be beautiful for a private party like a birthday or wedding anniversary, bridal or baby shower.

Not to date myself, but that's in the range of ~30 years ago. We had a usual booth, usual orders, and we saw the same waitstaff and cooks every week. This was a tradition I looked forward to all week long, since it was one of the only times I got to eat breakfast out at a restaurant regularly. While I live up in The Peninsula now, my parents are still down in Aptos. It was long overdue, but I had been telling my wife for years when we'd drive by the story of how I used to go there, and she'd always suggest that we go back one day. Well friends, that day finally came! On a recent trip to visit my folks and a childhood friend, we decided to take a family outing to Sunrise Cafe on Sunday morning for a good ol' nostalgic breakfast. PARKING: There is both street parking, and a dedicated lot in the back. Since the main entrance is located right on Soquel, I definitely recommend using the back for a more private and safe parking option. They also have an entrance in the back so you don't have to walk all the way around! SEATING: You check in towards the front end of the counter, where the register is. Since we came on a Sunday, it was full when we got there. There's a counter with eight (8) seats, as well as a half dozen or so booths on the left as you come in the front, and some other seating on the right. It did appear as if they shortened the tables, as they didn't reach out to the end of the booth seats. We ended up having to wait around 10 minutes, which wasn't too bad. DRINKS: They have a lot of the standards you'd expect to find at a cafe. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice (apple, orange, grapefruit, cranberry), soda (Coke products), iced tea, and mimosas ($6.50!). A few of us ordered coffee--good, not epic. The OJ is from concentrate, otherwise I would have ordered a glass. FOOD: A nice 3-page menu of breakfast and lunch options. Many of the standards, with combos of eggs and breakfast meats (bacon, sausage, ham, Linguisa, chicken apple sausage). There's a list of scrambles, omelets, eggs Benedict, and "Solar Delights" which has corned beef & hash, country fried steak, and a tofu veggie dish. For lunch they have a variety of sandwiches (hot & cold), burgers, and salads. We went for breakfast, and between the four of us we ordered: Sunrise Special (2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, home fries & toast or biscuit), French toast, corned beef & hash, and the Western Scramble (Corralitos jalapeño sausage, onion, topped with 2 scrambled eggs, chili beans & cheddar cheese). The food was all solid. The corned beef was chunky and seemed fresher than "from the can". The French toast looked tasty, and my dad said he liked it. My mom enjoyed her Sunrise Special, as a standard cafe breakfast. I ordered the Western Scramble and it was pretty wild; a huge mound of hearty deliciousness. It was enough food that I was able to take some of it, plus half a biscuit home and enjoy it for another breakfast a few days later. The potatoes were one of my favorite things growing up, so I do wish I had ordered a side, or something that allowed me to enjoy them on their own. OVERALL: This was a great nostalgia meal, and I'm super glad I came back. We found out that they changed ownership around four (4) years ago, so while it's not quite the exact same place, it's pretty darn close. I appreciate the friendly and hardworking staff, and will definitely come back on a future visit home! IG: @bbnem.eats
