Just moved to Denver and been searching for non-diary pizza and I must say--Big fan! We have to have vegan cheese because of an allergy my wife has and their vegan cheese is legit good. For something that has three basic ingredients, making an awesome pizza is no easy task. That said, making a decent, passable pizza is not hard. Sexy Pizza was possibly the worst pizza I've ever had in my life. My wife and I went there at about 10:00 on a Friday night for a quick slice. We got one slice of cheese. There were two other people in there already eating and it looked like they had some orders to fill, but otherwise they weren't busy. It took about 15 minutes to get our single slice of cheese. When we got it, I wondered if we were being punked. The pizza seemed to be overcooked, but it was worse than that. It wasn't really burned, but the crust was basically a cracker. When I folded it in half, the crust shattered. Seriously. Ever overcook a pita bread? It was like that. And that thin. I love thin crust pizza, but give me a break. We were hungry and it was just a simple slice, so we didn't say anything (partly because we didn't want to wait another 15 minutes). I wish I could say the hard shell crust was the worst part. It didn't have enough cheese, which may have been a good thing, since it was so bad. I wondered if it was real cheese. It didn't stretch at all and tasted chewy, almost like flavorless gum. But the absolute worst part was the sauce. I don't know what they put it in it, but it was so acidic, it tasted borderline rancid. The aftertaste was even worse. It tasted like tomato-infused bile. I'm not one to trash a place, and maybe I just went on an off night and their other food is good, but this was just downright awful. read more

Half the cost and I would have shrugged and thought it was..."fine, I guess, but wouldn't order it again". Because it was $40, it was not fine. Mainly, I guess, the base price is expensive; but secondly, I am vegan, and am always excited to find someplace that offers a vegan cheese option. This one is not a good vegan cheese option. I ordered a calzone and some garlic knots at 5:08pm via grubhub. Called at 6:48 (when they were officially a half hour late) to check on it and was told that it "left ten minutes ago and would be there any minute", no apologies or explanations offered. 30 minutes later I called and cancelled. As far as walk in and quick slices go, this place is great. The cracker crust of my pepperoni slice barely dropped at the end when I picked it up. Not too greasy either. Talk about a misnomer! The pizza looks like it has been sitting outside for a couple days, the service is equally abysmal, and the taste is as sexy as making out with your sibling. I walked up to the counter/bar and saw they had a happy hour special going on which included $3 glasses of wine and I was sold. I got a cabernet, which is served in a little mini bottle to make you feel like a giant, found a seat and perused the menu. Another assumption I had about Sexy Pizza was that they were going to have racy names for the pizza and again, I was wrong. The raciest name was the Sexy Sheik so I was bummed with the lack of creativity of the names. Something cool is that they have a few pizzas where if you order it, they give a $1 to the corresponding charity of choice. I heart eating for a cause! My friend made it there and we split the Italian salad, adorned with enough pepperoni slices and mozzarella cheese to put me in fatty heaven but there were also some other yummies thrown in there like green olives, onions, tomatoes, etc. We got the large salad and it was more than enough for us. We split a medium chicken parmesan pizza and it was huge and that's about the only redeeming quality about it. I'm a believer that no pizza is bad pizza and that's the case here but it really had no taste or zing to it. It was a little depressing but not so depressing that I didn't take some home with me. It's definitely better the next day so that was a plus but then again, that was after a ton of red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese. By the time we left there were a few other tables dining in and I've heard they have good specials for two slices and drink which I will probably go in before. Best place to get some midnight pizza slices. Their slices are huge so you won't need more than 2. They open late which is great, especially when it's 1am and you want something delicious to eat. Each time I've been all their pizzas have came out the oven, which leads me to believe that they are very popular. They also have a coupon on each box. Once you get 10 you get a free pizza.
