Been here many a time, always hits the greazy spot. Yes, it is two blocks away from where I live. Yes the pizza is sexy & they support the local marijuana reform movement. And yes, they have a good amount of rotating art and fliers about the goings on around town. But, they often have sassy (not the good kind) employees and the pizza is only good. It could use a lot more sauce and toppings, and a little less grease. Plus, ordering a whole pie is crazy so just go with a slice. read more

It's also good for when you need to grab a quick bite so you aren't boozin' it up on an empty stomach. Love the location and the ease with which you can grab a slice. More times than none the bottom of the pizza is a little over done and crispy. But at least the slices are HUGE! Thin crust and greasiness will do you good. We were pretty excited that Sexy Pizza allowed online orders. However, they have a ways to go in ironing out this process... we ordered a pizza at 7:24pm and it finally arrived at 8:45ish pm. As you can imagine the pizza was dry and rubbery... couldn't even eat the "outside" crust because it was sooo hard! When we called to check on the order (after an hour of waiting...) - we sorta got the impression that our pizza was just "sitting" there. Visit in person for the slices! A decent pizza, but twice in a row they've been over an hour late when ordering by phone. They gave us the most recent pizza for free because it was 2 hours late. Blah pizza without seasoning. If I wanted pizza that was bland there are national chains that do that. This place has okay staff that works there, but the food has no seasoning on the food. Two times I have had pizza from this place and both times been very disappointed with lack of flavor from the food. I am giving Sexy back a star because the Pearl Street location continues to be very good. The slices remain fair sized, the staff is great and it is easy to park nearby at lunch time. You can't beat the Wednesday lunch deal of $1.00 slices. But the Cap Hill location needs fixed. Skinny slices, often under cooked. Everything the previous commenters wrote about the service is completely correct: there are some issues with telling people the honest truth about delivery times, and some days are just bad for ordering, period. Some of the staff is sassy as hell, you know who you are, and to be honest, I was once 23, too. Now I'm just an old fat-ass who is hungry and wants her pizza. This pizza is the best in Capitol Hill. Had to take off a star because out of the 10+ times I've ordered delivery, my pizza was burned on the bottom twice. (By my standards, which are VERY PICKY: to me, if there are any very dark brown or black spots at all, it's Burned. It tastes like burnt bread to me, I can't help it. This happened for the second time last night, prompting me to FINALLY write a review of this place, which I'd sort of been holding off on after the first time, to see if it happened again; that said, most of my other interactions with this location have been great.) The other times the crust was perfect, and that was VERY IMPORTANT and made me order from here again and again for the White Pizza (with spinach and tomatoes), because the crust is delish. Nice and chewy like a tasty fresh loaf of crusty Italian bread drizzled with garlic butter (once or twice, a bit too much)... If you are a fan of crust, anyway; I can't say the toppings seem like anything unusual. When the crust isn't right, it's not really worth going to this place, but when it is, it's some of the best NY-style pizza downtown, in my opinion. There's a lot of competition. (Its main competitors in my mind are Fat Sully's at the Bluebird on Colfax, Famous Pizza on Broadway, maybe the Mellow Mushroom for a nice chewy crust). I have to admit I've only tried the tomato-sauce-based pizza from this place once (one of those times the crust was burned, sigh), but it seemed pretty good, if slightly sparse on the pepperoni and sauce. (My friends thought it was good, FWIW.) It may be worth mentioning that the White Pizza with spinach that I always order is one of their 4 "charity" pizzas, where $1 from your pizza goes as a donation to a local charity, mostly marijuana-related. (Sort of wish that only 1 of 4 were, and that the others were for helping people or animals or something, but it's nice that they do it at all.) I don't really care about this one way or the other, but I do sometimes wonder which specialty pizza is most successful at encouraging donations. As for the delivery from this location, it's always been fast and fresh and burning hot (however, I do live less than a mile away, so you'd hope that would all be the case). read more

This place is NOT Pizza Vera. It is called Pizza Sexy. The old owners were Pizza Vera and they were also one giant horse's ass. Anywho, the new doods are great and know how to make a pie. Sexy Pizza... Coming from Boulder, this and Benny Blanco's are the closest I have found to Cosmo's. I have only ordered from them once, and either stopped in after some beers at Park Tavern or just got some pick up, but each time I have been satisfied with the food. The crust is thin and crunchy, and the cheese is always nice and melted. The sauce could be adjusted a bit to be more memorable, but aside from that this place gets it done. It's all in the name. This is some of the sexiest pizza I have ever had. And I gotta admit, it was the name that first brought me through the door. I like a little humor in my pizza. You know what else I like in my pizza? A little NY style and Sexy Pizza brings that, too. I LOVE a pizza that you need both hands to eat. A slice so big that you almost have to fold it to get it in your mouth but instead, you use it like a spoon to shovel that delicious ranch in to your mouth. Did I really just use the word shovel? Wow. Sexy Pizza. What have you done to me? $5 gets you two of those giant slices and a soda. SOLD. They also offer free delivery - although I haven't cashed in on that yet. As a recent transplant to the Denver area, this is the first restaurant that I have fallen in love with - I would even go as far to say that I want Sexy Pizza to be my boyfriend. I'm tired after my flight and I just dropped my friend off at her house which is right near Sexy Pizza. I have wanted to try this place for a while because it sounds, well...Sexy! I walk in and it's not really that sexy but it did get me in there! It's one of the first cooler Sundays in Denver, paired with football, so they have been swamped...they don't have a lot of pre-made slices but they do have cheese so I added a few toppings to my slices and got one for my man so he could have a slice when he got home. I wanted to eat the pizza so badly on my drive home but I just wanted to sit on my couch and scarf it down, which I did end up doing. I put my man's slices in the fridge and he reheated as he got home. He loved the pizza as well. I lived at 1st and Ogden for two years and never knew that this place was so close to me. Sad day! I had to play a drinking game in my game was to order pizza in the shape of a penis, and the guy was so nice that I spoke to you on the phone and he was like we can't make it in the shape of a penis but we can make the pepperonis in the shape of a penis and he also congratulated me on my divorce because it's been rough, and I feel really bad about how it all went. Sexy Pizza is the new name of this place if you didn't know and that in itself cracks me up. I ran into the girl that works there in the Whole Foods down the street and asked her when the official name change was going to happen. She replied that they were going to do some renovation and then officially launch it which is great news. Onto the pizza itself...it's wonderful. Big delicious slices, freshly made, a good variety and they are cheap. I picked up a baked ziti slice and a spinach slice tonight with a drink for $4.99. The staff there is really friendly and laid back. It's definitely a wonderful neighborhood pizza joint. I kinda want one of those Sexy Pizza shirts too. YUM. All I wanted was 2 delicious and unpretentious slices of pizza, along with a soda, before the Roller Derby. And this place delivered. Thin (but not too thin) and flavorful with the right amount of cheese but not too much crust (Dan said the crust-to-pizza-ratio was perfect). Also, the staff here is awesome. Nice and quick little neighborhood pizza spot. I ordered a medium cheese pizza and the girl who took my order recommended getting a large, as the special they had going made it a better deal. Pizza was ready at the time I was told to come pick it up. Slices were large, thin crust and just a little too soft for my personal preference. Tasted just fine. On the verge of dismissing Denver as a CPK kind of town, I was urged to try Pizza Vera (Sexy Pizza). My prayers for real pizza in Denver have been answered. Big, greasy slices of pizza that you can order individually or by the pie. The dough is perfect and the selection of toppings is extensive enough to satiate even the most demanding of pizza fanatics. Went there last night. It was just like the pizza slice joints all over NJ and NY. It is the kind of place where you can grab a quick slice. And it good, at least if you like authentic NY pizza. Better experience than the Wash Park location -- needed sustenance post-bar time at Barracuda's around the corner -- they were open for another 10 mins and I got 2 delectable, soft, edible slices of canadian bacon and jalapeno for a reasonable price. They definitely tasted less "heatlamped" or oven-reheated than the Wash Park location did. I was helped quickly and was on my way to Argonaut pretty quickly.
