Big inventory of high end plumbing fixtures…read more Great help - prompt, knowledgeable and friendly

My contractor recommended them but I left pretty unimpressed and went elsewhere. The cabinet price…read morethey quoted me ended up being at least a couple thousand more than the place I ended up choosing and they were not as nice either (the East Star ones were particle board while the other ones were wood, the other ones were soft close which these were not, my actual layout ended up having almost entirely drawers on the base cabinets which wasn't included in the East Star price and so it would have been even higher than the quote they gave me, and so on). I was also looking for countertops and their options left a lot to be desired. They were maybe slightly cheaper than the other place ($40 difference for a standard countertop size of 110" by 26") but way less options and didn't look as nice. Mostly they were just not that helpful and I also didn't love their selections. I left searching for other options pretty quickly. I think one reason to maybe come here is the prices but in my experience even those were higher and the quality and selection were worse. In addition, ideally you want someone who can actually help you figure out a layout and make you feel like you want to shop there and I didn't get that sense. Maybe I just had a bad experience but even though I came in having some idea of what I wanted, I definitely did not get the vibe that this was where I would find it.

This review is long overdue. As we were planning a move that we decided we wanted some high quality…read morenew living room, kitchen, dining room and some other chairs for, it was an overwhelming task to do online and furniture stores are farer and fewer between. We knew we wanted an "upgrade" to our prior purchases, mostly from Ikea, Living Spaces, and the only furnitue places we found in our budget San Jose last time around (discount). We had an excellent hand-me-down couch from Room and Board however, so after reading a lot of online reviews we decided to give them a look in-person while in the city for a game. What was helpful was I had created an online account and placed the items we were interested in to different favorites or "rooms" already. Once we arrived and wandered around a bit, finding some of the items we sat down to discuss. Unbeknownst to us there was a sales associate/designer sitting near us. She offered to help us find what we were looking for. She proceeded to spend 2 hours with us helping us find the items, choose the fabrics, and suggest pillow accessories. Jo-Antoinette was SO HELPFUL. Honestly this was the best furniture shopping experience we have ever had. The store has huge amounts of all of their fabrics in yardage and she carried them to the floor pieces and tucked them in so we could see how the ones we liked looked in the fabrics we were thinking of. She sent us home with sample pieces that are still helpful to this day as we choose accessories and window treatments. And we didn't even make a purchase that day. She offered no pressure. We were buying a new home that was unfinished and not slated to be for 4-6 more months but it was further from SF so we wanted to do our recon while still in the Bay Area. She also helped to add our decisions to the "rooms" in my online account for easy ordering later. Once settled in to our new temporarily home for the last few months we were able to make our purchase and then set delivery once we had a move-in date. The magic didn't stop there. They delivered to our home, unboxed, set up, moved around, and removed all trash. Four months later we are still enjoying our new furniture - it has not disappointed. They only cautionary tale I have is that once you place an order of an item from your saved "rooms" it disappears. So if you are like me, make note first on your fabric samples which item was going to which room. I mixed up two sets of pieces and didn't realize it until after the delivery people had left so we had to switch some heavy arm chairs upstairs/downstairs. I had made a note from memory as soon as i saw they disappeared from my saved list but apparently had mixed two up. I highly recommend going to this Room & Board in person, and connecting with Jo-Antoinette.

The business is enormous, housed in a huge warehouse on Bayshore. I only wish it were double it's size, and that my home were double the square footage so I could buy more! Grand Central Station Antiques hits the sweet spot with quality and price. I can say without a doubt that you will not find a larger selection anywhere in the Bay Area at these prices. Robert, who's been running the business for decades, is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and always helpful in locating the perfect item for one's home. I have included pictures of some of my favorite and unusual finds. My friends all joke that I now present as a rich heiress, but the truth is, is that I spent comparatively little in furnishing my apartment with items I found at Grand Central Station Antiques. Purchasing antiques provides quality you just can't find in newly manufactured furniture, and honestly, one won't pay more (or much more) than their modern equivalencies. Antiques have soul, history, and create rich warmth and beauty for your home - priceless! Note that Grand Central Station Antiques will also provide careful, professional delivery for a very reasonable extra charge.

The prices are always fair and the selection is like no other in the Bay Area. I have a particular interest in bookcases and shelves to house a growing book collection. At GCSA I've discovered a number of wonderful European 19th and 20th century classic items to display our collections, as well as beautiful oriental rugs, art pieces and practical household items. You won't be disappointed with the wide selection and the outstanding care which Robert and his team apply to their merchandise. I can also attest to the prompt delivery and exceptional attention given by the delivery team to delicate and heavy items. One extremely large (over 9 ft wide and nearly 12 ft high) walnut Victorian bookcase with glass doors had to be installed as a single piece. It was expertly handled and placed. You won't be disappointed. I've attached a few images of pieces found at GCSA that I treasure.

I can vouch for how fantastic Glen Park is an unique place where I enjoy going here since it's nearby to where I live and has lots of places to enjoy a bit of everything from a place eat and drink. For decades I always enjoyed hanging around Glen Park because it has a good vibe and a model of an ideal residential neighborhood in San Francisco. I am in this neighborhood all the time. It is also a good place to enjoy a place to hike in the Glen Canyon Park. There is a place in the Glen Park neighborhood where they sell lots of fun stuff from books to celebratory cards along with art and it's also a gift shop. On a November autumn stroll through Chenery street in San Francisco Glen Park neighborhood I enjoy going to Perch because it has lots of interesting items available along with some art on the walls. It feels as you stepped inside a small art gallery which sells jewelry, stationaries, special occasion cards, kitchen items, and some good books about drinks and food. When visiting the Glen Park neighborhood in San Francisco plan a visit and stop at Perch on Chenery street. Unfortunately, I will never go back after an interaction that I had with the woman who works there today. She has never been particularly polite (she's snapped at both me and my husband), but we were willing to overlook that to support a local business. That changed today. I approached the store with my newborn in her stroller. The woman had her large, nine month old puppy tied to the front door of the store. Since the dog could easily jump on my stroller (it was quite large), I asked if it was baby friendly. I said, "I have a newborn in here, is your dog safe with babies?" And she snapped rudely, "I don't know. That's your responsibility." Mind you, we were literally on our first walk out of the house and had prioritized going to perch to get a little gift for our baby girl. This interaction was so totally unnecessary. Not only should a giant puppy not be tied to the front door, but to snap at parents trying to keep their kid safe is totally inappropriate. Move your dog! Be kind! Ugh I am so done. I will never be back. PS, I should clarify that I love dogs and I am a large dog owner myself. It is our responsibility as dog owners to 1) know how our dogs behave with kids and other dogs and 2) depending on that behavior, take precautions. This woman chose to do neither and was rude to us when we asked her to.

What made things worse was the indifferent person at the front desk whose tone and attitude were utterly abhorrent. I walked through the entire store and I can honestly say I've seen much nicer antique stores in Arizona. They also advertise that they have a second floor, but when I went up the stairs, there was just a small room with more garbage. I don't know how they have so many reviews online but this was the most pathetic antique store I have ever visited. I don't even think you can call this an antique store. This antique store epitomizes San Francisco, an inferior damaged broken city with damaged residents who desperately want to appear classy but are broken inside. I have never been more disappointed after visiting an antique store and I'm not the least bit surprised that this experience happened in a twisted ghetto like San Francisco. Pathetic!!!
