My contractor recommended them but I left pretty unimpressed and went elsewhere. The cabinet price they quoted me ended up being at least a couple thousand more than the place I ended up choosing and they were not as nice either (the East Star ones were particle board while the other ones were wood, the other ones were soft close which these were not, my actual layout ended up having almost entirely drawers on the base cabinets which wasn't included in the East Star price and so it would have been even higher than the quote they gave me, and so on). I was also looking for countertops and their options left a lot to be desired. They were maybe slightly cheaper than the other place ($40 difference for a standard countertop size of 110" by 26") but way less options and didn't look as nice. Mostly they were just not that helpful and I also didn't love their selections. I left searching for other options pretty quickly. I think one reason to maybe come here is the prices but in my experience even those were higher and the quality and selection were worse. In addition, ideally you want someone who can actually help you figure out a layout and make you feel like you want to shop there and I didn't get that sense. Maybe I just had a bad experience but even though I came in having some idea of what I wanted, I definitely did not get the vibe that this was where I would find it. read more

We came to this location to look at their various selection of tiles, shower door, faucets. Love their selections of Toto toilets. Their prices are reasonable but it also lets you look to get ideas, for any type of home remodel. I personally went there to look at their shower heads(hangrohe/ grohe / axor) selections, faucets and tiles. I like to look and compare their prices with online retailer. Ordered my cabinets and they said they would have them ready at a certain date and they were ready on time. The quartz was available but I recommend that you do all your measurements and not depend on there calculations because you cannot return any slabs of material once you take it of their property. Nice to the customers and very knowledgeable about their products. I enjoyed their coffee machine cause I need to be focused. Seems like they had the best value for cabinets for my needs. read more

She help me Design kitchen project in 20-30 min. She's very knowledgeable always offers great advice and explains benefits vs drawbacks of every design aspects. Had a wonderful experience working with East Star for our bathroom shower re-model. Ray was incredibly helpful in selecting the right supplies to purchase for the job. Tip would be to go in with a pretty good idea of the design/finishes and features you are looking for. In our case Ray was able to very quickly and efficiently help us choose the exact supplies we needed. Pricing is reasonable. We ended up needing to exchange and return a couple of items throughout the job and the process to do this was very easy. I can't review the customer service or delivery/installation aspects of the business. I can only review my opinion on their product quality based on what was on display...because it was so bad, I couldn't bring myself to spend any money, or even ask for help pricing something out. I get the need for affordable goods, but I was shocked by how poorly made the kitchen casegoods and bathroom vanities were. I'm normally 100% fine with crapping on Ikea quality, but East Star's product was clearly a tier below, and would recommend Ikea over this every day of the week. Every display had poor fit-and finish, nearly every door on every cabinet was wonky. Maybe someone just never adjusted any of the hinges, but not a single display looked "good". Some of the wider spans of cabinets were sagging, drawers were bouncy from low-quality slides, joints on the vanities were sloppy and poorly finished. My background which informs my opinions: I worked in retail furniture for 10 years, commercial furniture dealer as a on-site furniture and millwork installation project manager for another 10. I'm currently with an interior design firm. I have a client that wanted to go with these cabinets for their kitchen, and I'm SO glad they went with another supplier. The lowest quality I've ever seen, and that's including the lowest-quality from Lowe's like 15 years ago, the "flippers' special" white kitchen and bath cabinets. read more

This place is huge. Lots of tiles, faucet fixtures and toilets to look at. Vanities are their own with tops. Staff are the least friendly of the places we visited. Most do not speak English well and act as if they don't want to help you. Do not expect good customer service here. The only items we purchased from here were tiles for shower wall and floor. The wall tiles were made in Spain and floor tiles in Germany, costing over $3 sq ft. The tile we bought looked different when we hit it home. It was more beige than the poor lighting in their showroom. They have these awful, dated lights where you can't see the actual color and there are no samples you can carry around into the sunlight to see, only what's mounted on the wall. Their faucet fixtures are sold as a set unlike at other places where you can buy ala carte to mix and match. Their return policy on tiles is zero. If you over bought, have buyer's remorse, it's too bad. You're stuck with it. I prefer the tiles at Floor Decor but it's more expensive there and the store is in the South Bay which is a hassle for your contractor to pick up. read more

Most items are reasonably priced, but the customer service varies. Cece was fantastic--friendly, patient, and willing to answer all our questions. I would give her 5 stars. If you've ever need help, you should come to find Cece. However, Jesse didn't provide the same experience; he lacked friendliness and never smiled while assisting us. Even after we made our purchase and asked where to pick it up, he didn't look at us and simply pointed outside, saying 'out there.' Even going behind your back to the little lady to get an ok. And some don't even bother with that, they just add on sq footage to get a better commission. My contractor gave me the information of East Star at Fremont. We used to purchase lots of floor, shower door and toilet, etc. Overall, we do not like the store because they do not mark the price on most of the items. But when you try to confirm the price, you have to take line to wait for the sales. The sales have very cold face. Recently, we need 2 stair nozzles for repairing damage. My daughter visited the store and confirmed with the sales (Harry Lei) that they have the stair nozzles in stock. Then I took my contractor to go to pick up. The salesman (Harry Lei) told us ok to buy at the beginning. But after he knew that we only purchase 2 stair nozzles, he said his store manager said they can not sell the stair nozzles to us. I ask why, Harry said he did not know. I asked to talk with his manager, he said his manager is not in. I asked to talk with the manager on phone, he said I can not. Then I said I would wait for the manager in the store. After waiting for 20 minutes, I went to talk to Harry again. After he confirmed that we did purchased lots of stuffs in the store in the past, he sold the nozzles to us without calling his manager gain. We do not knot know the reason that he did not want to sell the 2 nozzles to us at the beginning. Maybe the business is too small for him or the store. He wasted us for more than 1 hour to wait and purchase the 2 nozzles. This store is not fare business store and have discrimination. They do not list price on the most of the items. I feel fortunate that I ended up meeting Jin when there are so many others working there. * The outside crew is quick to retrieve and load your purchased products into your car. * I had no issues with the quality of any of the products I purchased. We went in to look around for potentially using them and were totally underwhelmed. We asked several people for help and were told if we weren't doing custom cabinets then they couldn't help us. I couldn't even tell if the cabinets on display were falling apart because of poor quality (as I suspect) or because of excessive wear from being on the showroom floor. They get 2 stars because they really do have a super wide selection of things - basically anything you can think of for bathrooms & kitchens (knobs, pulls, sinks, faucets, toilets, etc..). And a friend of our contractor said they've had their cabinets for 3 years without problems, so maybe it was just the showroom that was poor quality. If you want super cheap and fast turn around time, and you also have the knowledge to do it all yourself, this is probably the best place for you! read more

I would give 5 stars if I were to review the sales consultant, Jet Chen who helped me out choosing items to fill a home during renovations. His knowledge and customer service skills far surpassed the gentleman that I waited to speak with for @ 30minutes the previous day, but that guy was far more interested in other clients and even people who just walked in after me... Jet, on the other hand gave me his full attention and expertise which I was very grateful for. I would highly recommend you look for him when you are ready to order items, or need any clarifications! This is the best place to go to for your remodeling needs. I recently remodeled my entire kitchen after I was just about to move in. Went in and bought the entire kitchen cabinet, countertop slab, sink, faucet, air gap, p trap, supply lines, tile, and grout in one afternoon. The sales manager Jin was very helpful. He went through the in-stock options and I was able to get the cabinets in 2 weeks time. There was problem with the slab installer and Jin promptly resolved it after I voiced my complaints. It is a one stop shop and the best value for what you pay for. Sure you can get more perfect tiles and more varieties from a Design Center place but you will be paying 5x the price. It's a little daunting to go in there if you are not in the building industry but the sales associates are knowledgeable and never pushy. They charged me a restocking fee on an item they sold me (and charged me for) that I DID NOT order. 3. The sold me (slightly) damaged cabinets and then had the nerve to charge me for a repair kit 4. The sold me extra cabinet doors that they knew I didn't need or want and when I tried to return them (unused) they refused to accept the return. Save your business for a reputable store. We love our wood flooring, all our Hansgrohe fixtures, Toto toilets, tiles, kitchen counter tops, kitchen cabinets and our new built in walk in closet cabinets! East star can definitely be the one stop shop for any size remodel! And of course I need to give major acknowledgment to our salespersons, FOREST FONG. He is very experienced and is extremely knowledgeable on everything you will need for your remodel.
