Our experience with David (Israel) was quick, efficient, and so far, satisfying. From the time of first contact to completion of iron gate repair was one week. The last few days was only a delay due to Amazon mobile gate control arriving later than expected. We had tolerated a broken, always open gate for almost a year until a transient made his way to our front porch at 1a.m. one night. David response was quick and efficient. Free estimate and plan for what we wanted was quickly done and repair completed within 2 days. Of course, gate repair is very expensive. It was not cheap. However, of all the quotes we received, his was the lowest and yet he seemed so much more knowledgeable than any of the other company reps who came to give us a quote. Sam has a bad attitude. He comes in and points out all the problems and says why this or that wouldn't work. I needed the Liftmaster LA500 (brand new I provided) installed on a dual-swing gate. He comes in and says how the gate wouldn't open completely to 90 degrees and I made a huge mistake by buying the LA500 heavy-duty rather than the LA400. (I am an owner-builder and I had read the installation manual numerous times). He wanted $200 deposit to give me the quote (what a joke!). When I refused to give him the $200 deposit he left angry and never sent me the quote, obviously. Next day I got the LA500 installed for the same price Sam had quoted,(by another San Jose based gate automation company. I gave him 5-stars on Yelp), perfectly working and opening completely to full and he didn't even ask for a penny upfront. All done in 4-5 hours. I would recommend you stay away from this gate company. [I really do believe Yelp's warning about how this business' reviews may all be coming from the same IP address.] Updated to 1-star after more evidence of bad attitude in the comment reply. We had a gate installed at our place over a year ago. Sam was very responsive and prompt, right from the first appointment to the installation. He helped me install a maglock on the gate after the install without any issues. He listened to my concerns and was always on top of them. He promised me an installation time of 6 weeks but was done within 4 weeks. A year after the installation, we had an issue with the gate sagging a little bit, and I called him. He was super responsive and had his guys come in to fix it the same day within a couple of hours. We've had the worst experience with Sam. The project included two gates - one a pedestrian gate for which we needed to add a keypad lock & change the wood panels. The other an automatic gate for which we needed to add wood panels for privacy. He took on both with the promise of delivering high quality finish. He took a deposit of $1,713 from us for the work. He started late on the project making some excuse about materials not being available. Then when the work was in progress we noticed early that it would not be the finish he promised and notified him. He acknowledged and promised to take a different approach. At this point he had not completed the pedestrian gate either, they had created a hole for the keypad housing and the wood panel was changed but not stained. Since then it's been one excuse after the other. He eventually conceded that he will not be able to do the automatic gate. He came back a couple of days ago and added the keypad lock, but it's sitting there wobbly. The crew scraped the iron gate paint & there's gap between the wood section and the lock housing. To top it, there is no cut on the iron pole for the keypad latch to go into - so it's completely useless. It's been five weeks for a job that he promised to complete in one day - he's not returned part of the deposit for which he hasn't done the work and didn't return the remote for the gate we gave him. It has been an extremely frustrating and tiring experience with this company and Sam. read more
