With a novelty concept of fusion desserts, SF Delights is one of a kind in the Bay Area. For nearly $5, it needed more oomph; not something I can readily do at home in less than 2 minutes. SF Delights has a good thing going but they need refinement and to up the ante. I've tried this truck a couple of times now at the San Mateo night market and the desserts are ok, just nothing special. I think based on the pictures I saw uploaded here beforehand I just expected them to be better. Nice mix of flavors I was a little thrown at the solid bits of Coconut inside though. There I was enjoying the nice smooth texture when I get a hard lump of Coconut. Hhmm... Found it slightly unappetizing to be honest. The Cupcakes are also just ''alright''. Not really any better than those I can get from Safeway . Both times I have seen them the ordering and serving system seems to be a little disorganized and confused. They give you a number when you order but then don't bother calling it. I was there waiting for my Panna Cotta and the guy serving just put it to the side of the service window then continued to take orders from other people so I had to go and ask if it was mine and show my number. Useless FPX trivia of the day: My favorite fruits are berries. My least favorite fruits are apples, pears & grapes. Bf & I were eating our way through the mission tonight & came across this dessert truck on 16th & Mission. Cupcake flavor of the day sounded interesting: green tea creme brulee ($3). I went for the mascarpone berries ($4.75) which really was a delight. Loved the thick, decadent mascarpone. Nice mix of blackberries, raspberries, & strawberries. I might have liked it better if the fruits were fresh as opposed to frozen. The strawberry syrup made this dessert a little too sweet. I so agree with my yelp homie miss Cherylynn N on her 3.5 star rating. Good call, girl. SF Delights is not just a 3, but it's not yet a 4. I'm upgrading because this kid's got potential. read more

I love desserts. Unfortunately, this was not as great as I expected it to be. I tried this out at the San Mateo Moveable Feast. I was expecting a lot from it reading the reviews. It was pretty pricey as well. Bailey's Creme brulee: 4 stars. It was pretty good. The texture was just right at the top and the custard was creamy and thick. Strawberry Cupcake: 3 stars. It was very light, fluffy, and moist. It had a huge butter taste to me at the first bite so I put it down. However, afterwards, I ate it again and it was pretty good. Nothing like CupKates... But it had to do since it was the few dessert truck there. My total came out to about $10.85. When I was in line some lady was arguing and yelling for the longest time about how the owner gave the last bread pudding to another customer... Guess I gotta try that bread pudding next time since its worth fighting for hahaha. read more

After a small concert, I saw the SF Delights truck parked outside so I sought out something sweet for the walk back home. Prices seemed reasonable, menu seemed interesting, employees seemed nice enough. I got the Thai Coffee Tiramisu (small, $2.75) and my friend got the Chocolate Delight (large, $5). Tiramisu did not have a strong coffee flavor. Not much coffee flavor at all. For lack of coffee, there was a TON of marscapone. My friend's Chocolate Delight was okay. Really dense and heavy which I didn't care for. Chocolate flavor was nice. Was expecting more. Still curious to try Green Tea Creme Brulee. read more

wifey and i were walking down 16th yesterday as we were on one of our trekking expeditions...wifey can spot dessert from a mile away. they had some pretty cool items...but once i saw bread pudding, the others just didn't matter anymore. it was a banana bread pudding...banana is definitely not my cup of tea...the sign said a fruit bread pudding...but it really was just banana. ugh. minus my hate for bananas, the dessert was hot...the sauce was of good consistency...and it tasted fresh and definitely homemade. not my fave...but a pretty solid 3 stars. i prob won't be frequenting this truck again. read more

After a large poutine dinner at the Little Chef Truck I ended with a mini dessert here.Mango panna cotta. The cream had a good cinsistency, not too sweet with a layer of caramelized mango and sauce. Great potential--infusing Asian flavors into some classic Western desserts. We sampled some at the St Patrick's day festival at the Civic Center. 1) Lychee mousse. Loved the flavor... well, love just about anything lychee flavored. but the texture wasn't quite right though. It had a little too much whipped and not enough mousse. 2) Irish cream creme brulee. Basically a creme brulee with a touch of Irish creme. Subtle flavor that my partner liked, but I would have preferred juuuuuust a little more. I felt like these desserts were really close to being really fantastic... both almost there, but just not quite. read more

Wow, I'm not sure where the other Yelpers ate but we love this truck. We were so happy to find it parked outside of TJs in Millbrae. Had their chocolate cake (in a cup) with warm chocolate sauce on top. Fantastic! Went back for a second one. Would have had a third but I was full. Wife n kids got their own and loved them! Better than many of the restaurants chocolate lava cakes etc. Hope they come back to Millbrae again. Oh, the Thai girl running the show was super sweet and gave us the whole history of her venture. Completely not worth it. I love dessert so when I saw the truck, I wanted to give it a try. I tried mango panna cotta and thai coffee tiramisu. They are just nothing special. Both of them really plain. I couldn't taste any mango in my mango panna cotta. thai coffee tiramisu is probably one of the plainest tiramisu that I've had. I will not be buying from this place again. I'm always looking for new places to try out during my hour lunch breaks near Brannan St. I read about SF Delights through an article about the latest food trucks hitting the scene. I usually don't go for sweets as my lunch, but for them I made an exception! My friend and I tried out the Crumble Tea Tart and the Apple Crisp. I am head over heels in love with the tart. It's not too sweet and the crisp on top is diviiiiine. I came back on a different week to see that it wasn't being offered, so that was a bummer. I tried the Mascarpone Berries and I've got to say, the tart has got some stiff competition! The lady working says they're also down in the Mission on 16th and Hoff. Just Desserts! This is the truck to visit after you've visited the other ones. Tasty dessert treats made to order for you by the friendly staff of SF Delights! The menu is slightly altered day to day/ week to week. Each dessert that I've sampled so far was yummy enough for me to recommend and to get me coming back to try out the others. Recommendations: * Crumble Tea Tart (fav) * Apple Crisp * Mixed Fruit Bread Pudding * Ricotta Cheesecake * Pineapple Trifle * Crumble Lychee Mouse and probably the best Red Velvet Cupcake I've ever had-was on a day when they were giving a mini-cupcake with each order. The SF Delights truck wasn't organized and couldn't keep up with their orders this evening. (They were in the San Mateo event center). They also didn't have any customer service skills or etiquette. I ordered the bread pudding and the baileys cream brulee and the lady in the truck took my order. After ~5 minutes she told me she was out of the bread pudding. So I ordered a replacement and paid the additional 20 cents that she asked for. The lady behind me had also ordered bread pudding and she was not only given her order before me, but she got the last bread pudding! I told the lady in the truck and she didn't seem to understand what the fuss was about. She just apologized that there was no more bread pudding. She took the order in papers that were numbered....Couldn't she figure out that my order was placed before the lady's that got the last bread pudding? There was another mix up in an order placed before mine as well, she gave them 2 of their 3 desserts. BAD service. read more

I went to the San Mateo Event Center and found the sfdelights truck. I had heard about the bread pudding but they had run out of it so I ordered the chocolate delight instead and this was one of the best chocolate cakes ive ever had. it was definitely worth the long line and i would highly recommend all chocolate lovers to check this out. and ill find them again to try the famous bread pudding! read more
