Rose petals and burnt milk
Sydney J.

While in the Mission, I felt like getting some ice cream, so I stopped in here. They have a lot of different flavors, some of which sound similar on the menu. Note that they charge an additional $1 for using credit and debit card to pay, regardless of amount, so bring cash if you want to save money. I opted to get the rose petals and burnt milk ice cream. I tried the guava, but wasn't a fan of it. They accidentally gave us one cup of rose petal and one of burnt milk but let us keep it - we intended to just get one cup with one scoop of each flavor. It helps if you know some Spanish. The rose is very syrupy and has strong rose flavor. The burnt milk tastes like creme brulee. Overall, I liked the ice cream and they have various dairy and fruity flavors. Reasonable prices.

Mangonada (the medium size)
Weijie W.

My friend and I shared the medium mangonada which is perfect for two people. The mangonada has mango shaved ice , fresh mango chunks, a tamarind straw, chamoy, and tahin. I love sweet, sour, spicy, and salty foods and this was an amazing combination of those flavors. The only thing that could have made this better was if the mango were riper. Other than that, this is a really great treat for a warm day! Also, for those who are coming here for the first time, there is a $10 card minimum!

Mini mangonada

I love coming here to pick up some of my favorite Mexican candies-- they have a pretty big selection at reasonable prices, and they take credit card/apple pay! I haven't tried their ice cream or other snacks yet but recently tried their mangonada ($7 for a mini). They have a range of sizes you can choose from that fits your budget/stomach space. The mango sorbet was fruity and sweet with a satisfyingly grainy ice texture that almost reminded me of wet sand (in the best way possible!). The downsides were that the cup had a lot more chamoy than I thought was necessary and most of the mango pieces were really sour.

small fresh juice (custom order)
Mónica P.

always pass by here and thought I should finally get a juice on a nice warmer day. One staff member loading in supplies was helpful to let me know the counter to order was on the other end (as I was looking at the menu to the right ) and the staff were singing and seemed to be in a good mood. It also smelled like elote that day and it was def tempting to order some. As someone who is picky about fruit though I do wish the drink would have been colder instead of room temp. Still good though. Definitivamente regresaría otro día que esté antojada de fruta (:

Simple and tasty street food. It's such a great place for an any day treat. Definitely stop by. They have an assortment of chips, candy, and drinks to choose from in the back. You'll find something you like if you just give it a chance.

Wow the choices here are great! They have mangonadas which are difficult to find. They also have chamoyadas which is what I ordered it has lots of fruits and chamoy which I love. They also have elote sold while or in a cup with seasoning. There are also ice cream and frozen flavored ice choices. Perfect place for a warm day like today! I will definitely return to try other items and also bring other people. So happy I stopped here.

Fresas con crema & mini mangonada

Almost skipped out on this place after someone just answered "no English" then hung up so quickly and suddenly when I called to ask if they accept cards or cash only (ps- they now accept cards, but with a dollar fee)! We'll be trying out other spots around the city before coming back. Pretty cool that they have a little store in the back filled with Mexican candies/snacks/drinks! A more accurate personal rating on our first time here would be 3.5 stars. *WAIT TIME- our party of 2 arrived around 6:15 pm on a Wednesday night and waited behind a line with 3 ppl ahead of us, then waited for at least another 20 minutes for our order to be ready. *AMBIANCE- despite this spot being located on a street that did not feel the cleanest or safest, they definitely put in effort with keeping their interior clean and bright. They also played music on their tv, which brought more lively vibes in there. *QUALITY- no WOW factor on what we've tried so far, but we were a fan of their prices and that they have a "mini" size available. Personally thought their mangonada was a bit lacking, and got very caught off guard by the shredded coconut and raisins mixed inside their fresas con crema. *CUSTOMER SERVICE- okay! Phone service could have gone better, but thankfully everything went fine after arriving in person. *OUTDOOR SEATING- n/a, not dog friendly. They do have indoor seating available in there (4 high round tables with 2 stools each) *PARKING- parking can definitely be tough around here, but we got lucky and found metered street parking around the corner right across the BART station (free after 6 pm). Just be extra vigilant of your surroundings when walking there.

Hair strand
Vanessa G.

Shaved vanilla ice with hair inside, OMG . This is abhorrent. My youngster became ill and became quite nauseated. I assumed it was because it was overly sweet, but when I saw this strand of hair stuck in the shaved ice, I began to wonder how many he swallowed since he was drinking from the straw. This is completely unacceptable to me. I spent around $75 for different flavors and their "homemade" ice cream and am now throwing everything away. I'm not returning to this filthy place

Mangonada!

What could be better on a beautiful summer day! Maybe before your stroll in the mission, or after as a pick me upper. It's always the right time to have a scoop of homemade ice cream, even a Mangonada with fresh mango ice cream! Now if you're trying to take it to another level grab a corn on the cob with all your fixings. It won't disappoint. They also carry a varsity of different Mexican products like traditional fruits, candies and other snacks. Give it a shot with all the different varieties you won't be disappointed!

Very fresh guava sorbet! Some seeds, but very good and just amount of sweetness
Molly L.

We had the small guava sorbet and a mini mangonada. I loved that there were a variety of sizes and that we could get small sizes of the desserts. The guava sorbet was really fresh and yet not too sweet. The mangonada has very fresh mango and yummy sorbet as well. Although there was only one person in front of us, we waited at least 5-10 minutes because the staff was busy hopping away. There were at least two others working there but only one actually working on the orders so I found that to be odd. The line was really long as we were leaving but it was still well worth the wait because it was so fresh. Both items cost only $8.50 for both so the prices are also reasonable. I had already had lunch but they also have elote for $3 on the cob or cheaper in the cup. This place is really good and I'm glad we found it! there is a large seating area and a huge dessert menu - we will be back!

'Mini' mangonada - $3.50
Audrey S.

The Mission is becoming less and less the mission, so thank God for places like Cinco de Mayo holding it down with delicious Mexican treats of all sorts in the heart of the Mission, right by 16th St BART. I saw raspados, bionicos, mangonadas, liquados, and jugos on their menu and of course had to go with a mangonada. They offer an array of sizes and I went with the mini, which was the perfect size right after a meal and was only $3.50. The chunks of mango, mango sorbet, and chamoy were everything I had hoped. Most mangonadas I've had used an icy mango blend instead of sorbet and I thought this was definitely better. Enjoyed my mangonada so much I was thrilled to learn there's another location in the Fruitvale, so I don't have to cross the bay for a Cinco de Mayo mangonada. The store also has lots of other Mexican candies and treats for purchase as well as homemade ice cream (stoked to come back soon and try the corn ice cream!). Just make sure to bring cash, as there's a $5 card minimum.

Vanilla shaved ice (raspado)
Carrie B.

I am a big fan of shaved ice, and was so happy to discover this place just in time for the heat wave. I've been back three days in a row and have so far tried The following shaved ice (raspado) flavors: coconut (coco), guava (guayaba), and vanilla. I was impressed that all the syrups are made in-house from real/fresh ingredients (ie not artificial flavoring). Each flavor was so so good, and I'm definitely going to try all their shaved ice flavors. The vanilla wasn't something I would have thought to order, but I saw several people order it and it looked so good I thought I would try. It had a nice milk and cinnamon flavor along with vanilla, was delicious. The coconut and guava were equally good, so just get whatever flavor you're in the mood for, can't go wrong. Their other desserts all look great: the nieves, the elotes, the banana splits, agua frescas, etc. Will need to come back many times to work my way through the menu! This place is popular with the locals which is always a good sign. And the prices were extremely reasonable ($4 for a small shaved ice), especially compared to all the artisanal ice cream places nearby. Everything here is homemade and great quality, def check it out!!

Review #1,093 Posted on 7.23.26…read more I had read on here this spot had a rep for having Filipino inspired flavors and wanted to surprise my wife and daughter with a little treat after some local burritos before we went to see Ella Mai while in town in the City on Saturday the 18th. You walk in and grab a number right away to get in line for your order. They probably had 10 people working at the counter helping people get their orders fulfilled, it's that packed here. The ice cream was very good. We all 3 got double scoops, each of us getting the ube, and then 1 other flavor. The ube is a must, super awesome flavor of ice cream, I also tried the coffee toffee crunch, which was excellent. I'd for sure will return here for ice cream in the future, highly recommend.

If you're into frozen milk, this certainly is a place to enjoy it!…read moreThe cornucopia of flavors is staggering. I believe they've been around since 1953. I myself have been going in there since 1984. I'm not really into much dairy, a little cheese from time to time and the occasional child's scoop. But as far as ice cream, you scream, there's no place better on the planet. I'm sure! I mean, avocado ice cream? Shut up, hand me a spoon! Take home a large handpacked portion and forgo a small order. You see, a child's cup of coconut is $5.50 but a 1/2 gallon is $15. You see my point? Simply ask for a sample taste of anything you want for free and then run home and share a tub with friends, and family. My wife sent me in there for the DURIAN which to me smells and tastes like gasoline but it's a slice of Nirvana to her! Two heaping bowls, and she's still raving about it! Fuel for her soul. Parking could be very frustrating and it's always busy. There's one of those pull a number things like at a deli to keep the crowd controlled. Make sure to grab one when you walk in the door or you may set yourself back a handful of customers. But if you're getting a tub to go, there's a special line for that, like a quick service register. Maybe grab a box of cones too to save on dirty dishes back at the crib!

They have a policy where each person can only try three flavors, in the interest of keeping the line moving. I really like their giant ice cream figurine outside. The first time I visited, I tried their dark chocolate sorbet and mascarpone gelato. This combination was absolutely HEAVENLY. The chocolate was rich and not too sweet, and the mascarpone tasted exactly like a tiramisu. I am always amazed by how they can get chocolate sorbet to taste just as good as chocolate gelato, as there isn't any milk. The second time, I tried their matcha blackberry ice cream and strawberry sorbet. The matcha was smooth and strong, and paired beautifully with the two summer flavors. The strawberry sorbet is limited to only a few weeks and it's so, so good, like summer in a cup!! This is one of my fave spots in the city for classic flavors with perfect execution. I can't wait to try their coffee and pistachio flavors!
